The Best Chinese Restaurants in Los Angeles | Eater LA

"Mojie Noodle is located in the tiny food court of President Square Plaza in Arcadia. The quick-service restaurant specializes in traditional Guilin rice noodles. The broth is made with boiled pork, ox bones, and various seasonings, with the most common ingredients being pork and pig offal. The noodles are typically topped with marinated meat slices, chopped scallions, fried soybean, pepper, and sesame oil. The menu is small with eight different noodle options. The most popular is served dry with soup on the side (number one on the menu). The noodles are soft, bouncy, and chewy. Other favorites include the numbing spicy pork intestine rice noodles, pork trotter rice noodles, and hot and sour rice noodles. A topping bar is on hand for diners to add green onions, radish, chile sauce, and other pickled ingredients to their bowls. Each meal comes with peanuts, spicy green beans, and slices of fried and marinated beef." - Kristie Hang

正宗!好吃!量大!We ate here two days in a row — the Guilin-style lu fen is super authentic! The homemade Chinese style pickled beans and radish were delicious, and the chili was fragrant and very spicy. If you can’t handle spicy food, definitely go easy on the chili!

Small authentic Guilin noodle in the Arcadia square plaza food court. I was surprised by the huge portions so definitely for money's worth. The lady in the front was nice and explained all the dishes and gave some recommendations which I took. Noodles are pretty good and a side note, she told me the spices were really spicy and I didn't think much of it, but putting just a little of the red 🌶️🌶️ and after mixed into the soup, I drank the soup, it caught up and landed in my throat, the spice level is really no joke. Normally I can eat habanero level spice with ease, but this is really spicy. Would come back again.

We had the braised pork soup. Broth was decently seasoned, meat tender, noodles were over cooked. I'd give it another try just less cook time on the noodles.

Fantastic hole-in-the-wall Guilin rice noodles joint. Located inside an unassuming food court, it is cheap and authentic. The portions sizes were huge for $11 via Zelle and it was incredible tasty. The noodles are hand made and very bouncy. You add your own toppings to control flavor and spice levels. Fantastic place for cheap and filling food and I will be coming back. For the non-Chinese folks, I got the #1 on their menu. Highly recommend you give it a try.

If I can give 0 star for Service, I would. Horrible attitude. I usually don't give one star but this is my first time. I was thinking if is my problem but I did look at some other comments and people do see the same thing. The lady (short hair) up front is horrible. She is so petty with super bad attitude. Me and my friend ordered two bowls of noodles. I put (self-serve bar) the cilantro, green onions and radish in my bowl but I would like the chili sauce be on the side. The lady doesn't even give us a small container or sauce plate for it. So I took a togo lid from the stack at the counter and wanted to use it to hold my chilli sauce. She saw me and immediately yelled at me saying she needed to take the plastic lid back. Oh well, ok I gave her back the lid and I asked for a little "sauce plate" or small container to hold chilli. She refused. So I took a spoon to hold my chilli. She yelled at me again saying, in Mandarin, "YOU, ONLY TWO PERSONS, TOOK ME 4 SPOONS, ONLY TWO OF YOU TOOK ME 4 SPOONS. YOU CANNOT DO THAT". Oh my God I was shocked and felt being humiliated with about 5-6 other customers around me at that time. I said to her politely I only use it to hold my chilli sauce and I'm not taking it home. I will return it to her (it's a silverware). Oh well. Me and my friend will never come back here. The service is ridiculous. And I'm gonna file a complaint to officials. If any of you know where I should file my complaint please let me know.

Ordered the Guilin Style Rice Noodle ($11). They let you add the toppings yourself when it's ready, even if it is take out. Warning though, most of the toppings are spicy. The ladies working at the front at very friendly and speak Mandarin. Note that they only accept cash or zelle. The food took less then 10 minutes to be ready. For takeout, they have the noodles and soup separate but the noodles are already flavorful without adding the soup. The flavor is also so delicious but also not a sickening type. It keeps making you want to eat it. The portion size is also huge! Very generous with the noodles! It could be 2 servings or 1 if you are really hungry. I was super stuffed and could barely finish it all at once. They could have given more meat though. Overall, a very delicious GuiLin noodles place for the price!

Lady at the counter was super kind and explained all the ingredients in each soup and gave her suggestion as to which we should try. Our food came out in a matter of minutes and it was delicious. Broth was incredibly flavorful with the slightest hint of spice.

This spot is surprising! It's nestled inside of a little food court and nothing but good things to say about this place. It was fast, and we got they're most popular soup and I got the pork belly. Broth was excellent, noodle was one of my favorites because I usually don't like the middle, but these had the right amount of firmness and chewiness. Highly recommended for cheap eats!
