The Best Restaurants to Try Between Los Angeles and Palm Springs | Eater LA

"Molinos Coffee started in Cuba and was revived by owner Irene Gonzalez in Riverside in 2013. Her Redlands location is perfectly situated off the 10 Freeway’s Orange Street exit serving the same menu as the original, with cortados, cafe con leche, and cold brew over ice sweetened with condensed milk. Like any proper Cuban cafe, there are also guava and cream cheese pastries, also known as refugiados, to pair with one’s morning coffee." - Mona Holmes

Google
Nice little coffee place that happens to connect to an antique store. The interior had a funky eclectic thing going on- chandelier, industrial lights, farmhouse chairs, pallet art. The classics for coffee options and dairy free options too. The girls working the counter were quick, polite and kind. Would come by again for a coffee.

Jesse C.

Google
Food wise, really only one option, but it wasn't terrible, I was glad there was something available at 7:00 when nothing else was opened. The young lady behind the counter was excellent! She was very personable, engaging and welcoming. Coffee was great with a good atmosphere. Chairs are not that comfortable...

Google
Ordered an açaí bowl here around 10am on a Sunday morning it’s delicious just like the one at the Redlands location. Their açaí is underrated. The consistency is like ice cream and with a scoop of peanut butter it’s under $8 at a decent portion as well. Some seats are available but it can get packed quick. The ambiance is a minimal and I want to give it the word “rustic.” Don’t know how their coffee is, but the açaí is worth it here. Açaí bowl: 4.5/5

Google
This place I thought was beautiful! The decor for a coffee shop was absolutely gorgeous… then the big window facing the street and you can see the Mission! As for the coffee for me was just ok… nothing fancy, nothing new but still we enjoyed our time. The girls who were working the counter were both really nice and friendly. I will definitely give it another try and maybe even edit my review as for now this will do!

Google
I was in town visiting and came across this coffee shop across the mission inn. It’s a cute area and they have a great selection of items. I ordered their hot white chocolate mocha and a blueberry muffin. The muffin was soft and warm. I’d recommend grabbing one to pair with a drink.

Mark R.

Google
Great experience Christi was very kind and helped me devise a new coffee that came out pretty tasty. The atmosphere was really laid back and the view of the mission inn is nice. Overall satisfied with the experience I got a breakfast bagel that was okay. Needed hot sauce which was supplied. Will be coming back for another coffee soon and would recommend to a friend. Great coffee!

Google
This place is awesome. I got an iced latte and an acai bowl. The acai bowl was perfection, and their prices are very reasonable. The only reason it gets a 4 is because of the abundance of dust and spiderwebs everywhere (ceiling, AC vents, walls, upper areas when you look around). As good as the food and coffee is, I can’t give it a full 5 because of this issue.

Google
Adorable coffee shop right outside the main entrance to Mission Inn. Delicious coffee and friendly service. We went about 8:00 a.m. on a Monday morning and didn't really have to wait. We will definitely stop again before we leave town.

Yelp
Molinosss, there's something about this place; its just... where memories are made? Staff's always super helpful & friendly, their lattes are delicious, there's some outlets you could use to study at & a tandem antique shop to explore ?! Plus, there's a huge window with a view of the Mission Inn (sunlight points) & a cozy vibe that everyone loves. If you haven't been here you're honestly either lying or ?

Yelp
Do yourself a favor and stop by for the horchata latte! It is one of the best coffees I've had. It's sweet but not too sweet and the coffee undertone is just right. The service is great and the barista was so kind. This is located right across from Mission Inn so there is a fabulous view of the busy street outside. Great atmosphere and better coffee!

Yelp
Gorgeous cafe with some delicious coffee! I got an horchata latte with cherry cold foam which was absolutely amazing. My bestie got an apple cider with cherry cold foam and syrup!! Drinks took about 10 minutes to come out to us which didn't bother either of us as we like knowing some thought is being put into them, and we also were kind of just meandering around Riverside for the day so there was no rush for us. Server was incredibly kind and explained the promos and specials they had for the fall season.10/10!!!

Yelp
A nice, quick, and cute coffee shop located in the heart of Riverside. Molino's is nestled inside of a huge antique shop, so you can grab your coffee and then instantly walk through to old antiques in a 3-story shop. There's no parking for the cafe itself so you'll have to find some street or metered parking first.

Yelp
Was in the area and needed a pick me up Found this little spot in downtown Staff were great ! Very clean. Quite as well . Great place for studying and maybe a little coffee date. So many options to choose from. I asked the baristas what was her fave drink. She told me it's the lavender with honey. Y'all it did not disappoint!! My brother got the Havana it was a bit sweet for his liking but I liked it. Also order just a regular coffee. They do have baked goods and little knickknacks to buy from. Definitely coming back.

Pita F.

Yelp
First time here . Read yelp reviews and wanted to try the popular iced vanilla chai latte. It was way too sweet! taste more like a dessert than a chai. Not a great first experience. I would like to go back and request a drink 'less sweet'. it would be nice if they wouldn't automatically add so much sweetener to their drinks. It's easier to just add another pump of sweetness, if requested rather than have to remake a whole drink. I didn't request for them to remake it because I left before I even tried it :/ Service was ok.. not too busy. The coffee shop is nice and cozy

Yelp
Well I don't have a picture of my coffee - ooops but it was delicious Chai with espresso - really nice chai blend I did want to mention here that this little coffee shop comes with a gem - adjacent walkway to little treasures galleria - thrift store/antique shop You def will enjoy your coffee looking around Service at Molinos was great although it was just 1 barrista she was on it - and extra nice

Yelp
Cool little coffee spot right across the street from the Mission Inn. Swung by on a busy Saturday morning, but still got our food and drinks very quickly and was kindly walked through their different coffee options and specials by the staff. Their blueberry muffin was amazing! Great flavor, freshness, and texture. Their coffee was simple but pretty good. Overall had a great time here and their service in particular was a highlight. You also can't beat the views of the mission inn from here!
google avatar

Joseph C.

Yelp
Very good service even though it was packed like crazy. The team kept it going good job
google avatar

Randy B.

Yelp
Cute little coffee place that should stick just to coffees and açaí bowls. We had a couple of excellent lattes but the breakfast options are laughably bad. Breakfast/egg sandwich seems like it was popped out of a Sam's or Costco bag and microwaved. Bagels seem to be from a prepackaged bag at the grocery store. Ideally they would buy from a local bakery, but at a minimum they could at least buy the Costco bagels or fresh grocery store bagels.

Yelp
7:00 am and I'm the first customer to arrive on a fall Monday morning. Love trying out new coffee shops. And what a great vibe this little cafe has. Perfectly located across the street from the Mission Inn, it has lots of character and interesting details to peruse, inside and out. That chandelier! Very friendly and attentive staff member. It's good that there are genuine "morning people" in this world. I'm a decaf mocha connoisseur and Molinos' did not disappoint. Steamy, creamy and smooth. Perfectly chocolaty without being too sweet. The small selection of morning East looked tempting, but will await my next visit. So delighted to see the festive lights on the Mission Inn begin to sparkle around 7:30! All the feels of the season to come.

Yelp
I was in Riverside to meet up with a friend and stopped here for a late morning coffee. It's located right across the street from the Mission Inn and there is paid street parking. Inside, I like the brick walls of this old building from the previous century and the retro light fixtures, . There was a line of about 4 people when I arrrived. The manager was wiping down tables and tidying up the place. My turn came and I ordered a hot horchata latte and chose a blueberry muffin from the minimal choices in their pastry case. I sat at one of the indoor tables (they also have a small streetside patio) and ate the muffin. It was moist, fresh, and incredibly delicious. Many reviewers mention this place is slow - my latte took about ten minutes but it was worth the wait. It was very hot so I took the lid off the to-go cup and let it cool for a few minutes so I could actually sip it. The smell of cinnamon filled the air around me. It was a sweet drink with a bold cinnamon flavor; maybe not a drink for a coffee purist but I loved it. 4.5 stars rounded up.

Yelp
The worst service ever... $6.51 for a bagel with cheese and jalepeno I asked for bacon with my bagel and they gave me a plain bagel. Then the person came back back to me and said they didn't charge for the bacon which it clearly says on their menu that the bagels are 3.99. So then I just tell him give me my bagel back, and I wait another 10 mins so she can finish another order and she give me back my cold bagel.. horrible service. They need to change their menu to the actual prices. Will never come back and highly don't recommend. You try to support small Latino businesses and this is what u get

Yelp
Molino's has some of my favorite matcha, in the sense that it always tastes milky and sweet. I feel like I haven't had any other matcha that tastes just like theirs. Staff is always really nice as well. It's also a good spot to study or just hangout. It's directly connected to the antique store as well which gives you something to do after grabbing your drink. :)

Yelp
Delicious coffee and great ambiance. Love the workers who are so kind and inviting every-time I come in. Love this spot.
google avatar

Troy T.

Yelp
Stopped in on a winter night, got an affogato. This place is right across from the Mission Inn and the windows and patio seats are a nice spot to have a short date while enjoying the Christmas lights. The ordering process is smooth, they have a few treats if you need something to accompany your drink. My drink was excellent, will have to try this place again in the future. The interior connects to a little shopping area and I think it's cool. It has a new school feel in an old school setting and there is something about that nobody can deny.

Alaina N.

Yelp
Unfortunately the customer service isn't all too well. I waited in line with 2 people in front of me for almost 20 minutes until I received my acai bowl. The service just was not all there ! The drinks and acai bowl was very good. I set a high standard for customer service.
google avatar

Mike J.

Yelp
Caramel ice latte! Better than Starbucks! :) Came in on a Sunday afternoon. Kinda busy and the service was fast. Will be coming back :)
google avatar

Bella A.

Yelp
Love coming here! We go at least once a week. We typically go on the weekends and that's when they tend to be the busiest but for only 2 ppl working or sometimes even one. They still manage to get your order out as quick as possible. They made my daughter this cute little hot chocolate! And she absolutely loved it.
google avatar

Meher K.

Yelp
If you're looking to get nickel and dime'd for subpar food, make your way to Molino's! Their sandwiches are zapped in the microwave... and they give you a small cream cheese packet for your bagel, which is barely enough to get a thin smear... if you want more, they will charge you for it. "Sorry, that's our policy." Avocado toast was decent... Nutella croissant was fine (even they couldn't get Nutellas wrong) If every other place in the area is closed, I would recommend walking or driving further.
google avatar

R And R.

Yelp
It's great to have a new place downtown to experience great coffee (all albeit decaf)!

Ashleigh A.

Yelp
Took a while for drinks to be made. Not sure if this is an employee or owner error... For a weekend, more people working would be ideal for wait time and ordering. Cappuccino did taste good though.

S. S.

Yelp
Very dirty & bad attitude-yy! I am a regular at Copper Goat; the owner advises me to try here as well. I went in this morning and met the barista. She was opening and carrying out the patio furniture. I was hoping she wouldn't come in and not wash her hands--but she DID. So I asked her to do so; she shot back, saying, I'm going to before making the drink. Meanwhile, she went in the fridge and touched everything else prior to that. She seemed to have an attitude because I had to ask her to do what every food service employee was trained to do. She began to ask me for revisions 1 by 1, and I responded, "No other revisions." She rebutted, "I have to ask." I feel as if that was unnecessary. I was kind & professional with her. It was uncomfortable for me to have to ask an adult food service employee to wash her hands first thing after moving furniture outside. She was wrong and took the cattie route,-so I decided to take my $$ elsewhere. I said, NEVERMIND, and I left.
google avatar

Reyna J.

Yelp
The horchata lattes are a must! The staff was friendly! Great ambience and outside seating available to bring your fur babies!

William L.

Yelp
We had an opportunity to visit this coffee shop and the Cortadito was amazing!!! The young lady behind the counter working alone also did an amazing job. Shop was full of customers and you could never tell she was swamped. Keep up the amazing service!
google avatar

Alexis K.

Yelp
Ambience is very cozy! I tried their Nutcracker Latte w/ Almond Milk. It was delicious but $7.15 is a bit too pricey. Service was very nice!
google avatar

Heather H.

Yelp
Great little spot, staff was friendly and quick for everything being made on the spot. The tables were a little crummy from other patrons using the tables and leaving a mess. The staff wasn't enough to go through after each person and clean up. Great location and hours. The breakfast sandwich was simple and delicious. Chocolate muffin was good but very rich took us all day to finish it. Affogato was very good, so was the Carmel macchiato. I would definitely come back here if we were in the area again.
google avatar

Kezia S.

Yelp
I didnt love the lavender lemonade because I found it kinda watery and not very sweet but still enjoyed myself here because servers were so nice and the place was so pretty We came after thrift shopping so this was perfect vibes for post thrifting Willing to check again
google avatar

Christine L.

Yelp
Molinos is located right across from the Mission Inn and has a great view if you want a place to work and people watch. Long line and pretty busy but friendly staff. The coffee was okay and there were some seasonal options. Food options are limited and are okay quality. Overpriced acai bowl with frozen fruit and it cost extra to add additional toppings. Definitely would not go back for food. There are other trendy coffee shops around the area that others might consider instead.
google avatar

daryl d.

Yelp
Staff is always helpful and willing to explain any questions I may have about the food or drinks. The lighting is always nice since there is a large window getting that natural light. The lattes are never a miss! Always 5/5. Their ham and cheese croissants are delicious.
google avatar

Garrison B.

Yelp
The coffee is very good, their cold brew with vanilla cold foam is exceptional, it is the best cold foam I've had. The food and pastries are not that good, I'd just stick with coffee.
google avatar

Rae E.

Yelp
Was looking for a coffee shop in the area and saw Molinos and decided to check it out. I tried the Caramel De Dulce and it was soooo good! Highly recommend checking this place out!
google avatar

Dale M.

Yelp
I've been a fan of Molina for a while, during my visit today, there were no employees working the store. Me and at least a couple other people walked out. While I was standing around I began to look up at their fixtures and walls and was unfortunately disgusted by the level of dust and filth on the top part of the store. Maybe I'll come back when it gets the owner's love and care. Disappointed.
google avatar

Katelyn H.

Yelp
Delicious as always. come here just for the chai and everything else of course. Will always recommend!
google avatar

Angela C.

Yelp
This coffee shop can be found across the street from The Mission Inn. It has a few breakfast items, and a great selection of unique coffee offerings. I had a really hard time deciding what I wanted to try and I opted for the Cloud 9, which is a white mocha with hazelnut. The drink was delightful, although it was a big on the sweet side. They need to hire more help though, I felt terrible for the girl working there. The morning I went, there was only one girl working and she was both cashier and barista, so it took a long time to place the order and get your drink. I saw someone walk out because it was taking so long for him to place his order.
google avatar

Krystel K.

Yelp
Literally my favorite place to study!! I come here when I have free time to do so and I usually order chai latte with soy and blended. Let me tell you, it is the MOST amazing chai latte i've ever tasted and I think about it all the time LOL 10/10
google avatar

Paulette G.

Yelp
Great drinks i really enjoy their matcha and the workers are really nice! They also have good bagels and they give you a good amount of cream cheese
google avatar

Esmeralda V.

Yelp
Such a nice and inviting coffee shop. Everything from the service to the coffee was nothing less than great. I got an vanilla ice cream espresso which I was hesitant about but turned out to be a great choice. My sister got the horchata cold brew which was also amazingly delicious, tasted like churros. Will definitely be coming back. Also has an unexpected entrance to the huge antique shop in front of the mission inn. Great little outing.

Jose U.

Yelp
Thursday afternoon. Barista somewhat rude. Didn't think much of it. Got a honey latte with whole milk and I got spoiled milk. Super gassy now, bloated stomach and multiple trips to bathroom now :/ Gf got oat milk vanilla latte and avoided the same fate
google avatar

Jeremy K.

Yelp
Great location with great views of Mission Inn. The drinks were great. My son had a mango smoothy which he loved. My wife had the blended caramel vanilla coffee & it was delicious. They also shared a blueberry muffin to go along with the drinks. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Froilan G.

Yelp
This is another hipster, catfish, booty cheek coffee place ain't gonna lie. If you looking for some real coffee in a fancy pour over that is going to taste like coffee straight from the plantation that a toddler just picked! It is Best to go look elsewhere because it ain't happening here! However, if you looking for booty water in sugar and need a nice place to study I guess you can come here. I think they got a printer so that's a plus. Idk man I'm just wondering who molino, but if you reading this it's too late ! Anyways, idk what I am saying I am lit dank review will be 5.3/10.
google avatar

Laydee B.

Yelp
My favorite go-to for an adffogato; I waited to post this review as my first time was a to-go order. After a couple more visits to enjoy the indoor and outdoor seatings, I feel comfortable to say it's a very nice coffee "hang out". I see customers enjoying the indoor "neighborhood"feel with friends or getting alone time and the outdoor perks of people watching. We've tried many items on their menu and we have not been disappointed. Their baristas consistently make good coffee and are rarely stressed. The only "downer" is parking. Although there is street parking, we usually park in the public parking structure on the corner of Market and Mission Inn Avenue.
google avatar

Anna B.

Yelp
I was in town for a conference and this became my morning routine and got me energized for the long conference days. It's in the heart of downtown right in front of Mission Inn Hotel. It's a spacious coffee shop with plenty of seating. One morning I got an iced dulce de leche latte (1/2 sweet) and everything bagel with cream cheese. Another morning I got a salted caramel latte (hot & medium) + a jalapeno cheddar bagel with cream cheese. Everything was delicious and the barista was super friendly, especially with a huge crowd coming in.

Alex P.

Yelp
First time here today and wow this is a good spot to get a coffee and do some studying. Very friendly service and wonderful food.
google avatar

Aly B.

Yelp
Coffee was soooo delicious and our barista was more than willing to fix up my friend's cold brew when it wasn't to her liking. We got great recommendations and felt very comfortable! Will continue to visit whenever I'm in Riverside.
google avatar

Tim B.

Yelp
Do not go here if you have anything pressing to do in the near future. Slow, slow, slow. The person running the register has been the same person making the drinks almost every time I come here. Today one girl (God bless her) ran the register, made the food, and made the drinks while the other girl put supplies away in the fridge... customer service? I came in for a simple black drip coffee, 2 people ahead of me and it's been 12 mins and I still haven't gotten to place my order yet. However, the staff is friendly and polite and the coffee is pretty decent so 3 stars it is.

Madeline R.

Yelp
Whatever you do don't order the matcha ... I knew the second I saw the color it was all wrong. It tasted overly sweetened and way too milky. Plus the lady at the counter had an attitude for no reason. Not to mention it was almost $8 for a medium. Sadly I won't be going back.
google avatar

Terra A.

Yelp
First time visit and it will be our go to breakfast and coffee spot from now on. Great food, delicious coffee. Fun atmosphere. Lots of seating. Both kids at their entire breakfast ( egg, cheese and bacon coissant and Nutella and banana croissant, avocado toast with bacon). Clean plates one and all. Right across from Mission Inn in old town. Don't miss this gem.
