The Best Dishes Infatuation NYC Reviewers Ate In July 2025 - New York - The Infatuation

"This long-time menu fixture at L'Artusi looks a little like a pink stained glass window, cross-hatched with tingly horseradish crema. Rank: #42 "This vast business district restaurant somehow feels comfortable and intimate, thanks to its 175 seats being spread over three distinct rooms. At the front, there’s a stunning long bar with 20 stools and a lounge; in the middle a spillover brasserie; and at the rear a posh dining room with elegant black banquettes and white tablecloths."

The vibes are fantastic. Everything we ate was delicious. Entertainment was phenomenal and really fun. We had everything we needed and our server was great, and support staff was very attentive as well. The pacing is really nice because you get to enjoy the vibes and finish each course without feeling rushed. This is a great place to go on a double date! We loved it and will 100% be back to try what we didn’t get to. 10/10.

Google
Monarque was an experience. The location was wow. Have been past the location and never knew this great place was here. Alice, the manager, was welcoming and so friendly. Tony, our server, made sure we were taking care of and made great suggestions. Loved Amanda, she was such a talented singer and host. The burlesque show was so much fun and entertaining. Loved Valentina and Bebe. This was a birthday dinner for my husband, and he said it was a true surprise that he enjoyed. Told me I outdid myself. After dinner was right through to the Elk room. Good drinks and loved the decor

Google
Awesome dim lit New Orleans inspired spot. Very laid back and a perfect place to bring a lady friend. The drinks are crafted to perfection and I honestly had a better time here than being next door at the Elk Room. Will definitely return.

Google
Took my husband to Monarque for his birthday. He loves the place but we hadn’t been in a while. After leaving, my husband asked, “What did you think of the service?” I started laughing because my husband NEVER EVER complains. So, for him to comment is very telling. Service was really bad. We never had a bad experience here but to have one on his birthday was pretty disappointing. Our server was inattentive, not knowledgeable about the menu, got my husband’s order wrong, and barely checked in with us. The manager kept checking on us- when our drinks and then our food were taking long, she moved it along; she replaced my husband’s meal after explaining it wasn’t what he ordered, and she offered a complimentary glass of champagne. She didn’t even know it was my husband’s birthday; only the hostess acknowledged it. And yes, our server was absent through all of this and the restaurant wasn’t busy at all. The food was good and we enjoyed the show, although it is pretty short.

Google
A great Atlas themed dining experience. Monday night so no live entertainment, just soft period jazz over the PA in a softly lit barroom. Happy hour menu and drinks 5p-7p. Live entertainment is Friday through Sunday nights. Look for Michael at the bar, he’s a friendly and knowledgeable guy who will gladly engage you in a variety of topics. Of course the food is top notch but a review needs to state this obvious component of a dining experience. Great restaurant that I will definitely recommend and return to soon.

Google
We went here for the first time and everything was excellent! The food, the service, and entertainment! I highly recommend the duck crepe appetizer - it was so delicious and even my picky husband enjoyed it! And the standout entree was the steak au poivre - it was so seasoned and flavorful. And the servings in general were generous especially considering that it is a fancy restaurant. And the entertainment was so fun! They had live music, and burlesque dancers! Also, I believe they only have this on Fridays and Saturdays. Last comment - We thought the cocktails were a little weak in alcohol, although they were still tasty. That was the only recommendation, and everything else was wonderful!

Google
The only problem with Monarque is the fact that it's not in my neighborhood. This was a brilliant light during our visit to Baltimore. The food, drinks, service, the jazz band and performances .... perfection.

Corey Barnard

Google
Service, food, show all beyond exceptional! We absolutely had an amazing time celebrating a graduation here and would come back again for the burlesque show! The performers were all very talented, thanks again for an amazing night!

Yelp
My husband and I visited Monarque for the first time on Monday to celebrate our 21st wedding anniversary. As soon as we came in the hostess was pleasant and polite, checking our coats before seating us. We were having an early dinner and had reservations for 6. Our table was ready and we were given complimentary champagne for our celebration. Our server, Zooey gave excellent recommendations and we really enjoyed our dinner. I started with the salad. The bacon was so good and I normally wouldn't eat thick cut pork belly but this was just tender and delicious. The dressing was light and barely needed. My husband started with the smoke salmon and he truly enjoyed it. I had the petit steak for my entree and is was cooked expertly. Didn't need steak sauce or any other condiments. Hubby had the burger and it is an underrated item. He loved it. The Brussels were too sweet and I wasn't a fan of the cashews on them. As a gift for our nickel anniversary, Zooey gave us a nickel and a tassel piece from a costume inside a card. We appreciated the thoughtfulness. Even though there was no performance that night, we still enjoyed the atmosphere. We will return for jazz night. Happy hour was at the bar but it was so quiet, we barely noticed others. The hidden entrance to the Elk room next door through the secret coded passage was interesting. We had a beautiful time. We did have good drinks but I couldn't remember the name of mine and dessert was like a carnival treat, so good.

Yelp
My husband and I visited Monarque for the first time tonight ( a Monday night) and what a treat it was! Excellent service- from the moment we checked in at the hostess stand until the moment we left. Ask for Karla with a "K" :) She provided us with excellent recommendations and was attentive throughout our meal. Highly recommend the tableside beef tartare! It was fresh, light, and flavorful. I also recommend the Parisian Gnochhi, which was silky and umami-packed. For entree, I ordered the short rib Bourgogne, and it was fork-tender and beautifully seasoned. We will definitely return to Monarque for dinner again soon and look forward to enjoying some of the entertainment!

Yelp
I am a frequent flyer in all the local Atlas Restaurants and they never disappoint! I'm always in awe of the quality service, food, ambiance and staff. This location in particular, is sexy, it's dark and edgy perfect for HH with friends, a solo date or a romantic dinner! The food is excellent, the service is impeccable especially at the bar. And make sure you are kind to the bartenders, they will certainly enhance your experience

Yelp
Really excellent all around! There was a jazz band playing when we came in for an early dinner at 5 o'clock on Saturday night. The waitresses and staff were all excellent and we had a great three course meal and a nice bottle of sparkling rosé to go with it. Really fun place that is lively with excellent food and great decor, highly recommend it.

Yelp
I'm in love with this place! The bar, the atmosphere, the mood, the entertainment, the food, and the vibe. There was nothing about this place I didn't love. The atmosphere is amazing with lots of table and an eloquent bar. They have live jazz music and burlesque! We had a reservation at 7:30 and got a bottle of wine, the octopus, the steak and frites and the steak special. Everything was amazing even the entertainment. It was our anniversary so they even gave us a glass of champagne. If I lived here I would frequent this place and try all the food!

Yelp
What an absolutely fabulous place. It had everything. Sexy, Classy, Delicious, and excellent service.

Yelp
Me and my mom went on Friday night and everything was so wonderful. The service was so nice and welcoming, the ambiance was sexy and inviting and our food was so yummy. The only issue we had was our onion soup was very sweet and our bread was very hard.

Yelp
What a fantastic, moody, seductive bar. Tucked away in the back of a dining alley, Monarque is my foodie jazz dream bar. They have one of the best happy hours in the city. The food here is some of the most succulent, well cooked, just. Amazing food I've had. The bar staff also has PHENOMENAL recommendations for pairings. When, not if, you come. You have to try the escargot and the bone marrow, by far the two best hits for me. And both on the happy hour menu! Live music is featured every. Single. Night. So you really truly cannot go wrong here. Don't let the vibe fool you, this is accessible luxury. Greatness has been given and I cannot wait to come back.

Yelp
Wow, Monarque is incredible! I've been to a few Atlas restaurants but this one definitely takes the cake! I wouldn't have said the theme- French club- was for me, so I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed the decor, vibe, and live music. It's a really cool space, especially the bar. The food was absolutely amazing. I love when a restaurant knows how to cook vegetables, and the beet appetizer was proof that Monarque has some excellent chefs. The cassoulet was huge and delicious, and the lobster Thermidor was easily the best lobster dish I've ever had. The staff were also outstanding. Everyone was so kind and attentive, and the manager herself boxed up our food. The cherry on top was an invitation at the end of the night to their hidden speakeasy! We had so much fun and the food was amazing!

Yelp
We went here on a Friday night and surprisingly did not need a reservation (HOWEVER, I do recommend reservations). This place exceeded my expectations on every level. Monarque isn't just a restaurant, it is an experience. We were seated near the stage. I had the duck breast and the blue cheese Brussel spouts (AMAZING- the flavor of the blue cheese coupled with the grilled brussels). The wine selection was also a "hitter". Overall the experience was dope, the band, the burlesque dancers were all superlative. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Came here for my birthday. You will see the sign from the street and half to walk through an alley which is filled with outdoor seating for other restaurants. You need to keep walking u til you get to the end in order to get to the restaurant. Food was excellent. The house spread was fresh and served with goat cheese. Appetizers were very: broiled Brussels sprouts with blue cheese, mussels, and the short rib gnocchi. Recommend all 3 of these. Great taste without being over powering. My wife had the short ribs as a main entree which was very tender. It would split easily with just the fork. I had the roasted duck breast cooked medium. The skin was left on and was nice and crispy. Highly recommend this entree. Sides: mac&cheese, spinach, grilled mushrooms, and the bone marrow. The food was very good. Pricy, but you know that coming in. Service was top notch. We also came in early on a Wednesday and were the only customers. We had all their attention. Ambience was great. Felt like we were in a French Caberet.

Yelp
I love going to this place and this my third time visiting. For this evening we made reservation during the show times which is a great touch. The performers were amazing. The staff is attentive and they come around and check on the guests. The ambiance is amazing and is a great vibe. It can be a little loud but it's intimate still. What we we had Lettuce salad -9/0 Short rib gnocchi - 10/10 Petit steak - 10/10 Drink - 10/10 (I forgot the name but it was good)

Yelp
The food was delicious and the service was excellent but the ambiance was out of this world absolutely FABULOUS!!

Yelp
came here for happy hour - $2 oysters, $8 cocktails (i think), the vibes were so nice with live music and the food was pretty good. the bar seating and area just felt so nice and we got to enjoy the food without breaking the bank. bartenders were attentive and food came quick.

Yelp
What a cool venue. I say venue and not restaurant because entertainment is included! The Atlas Restaurant Group has the monopoly on Baltimore's fine dining scene and here's just another example. The beauty about this restaurant group unlike the northern Virginia based "The Great American Restaurant Group", each establiment is unique with an equally unique menu to match. I'm loving just about everything about Monarque. Walking to Monarque is like walking on Bourbon Street, with a cool outdoor breezeway with outdoor seating and a bar for summer time fun. Once you enter, you can see the French inspired decor, making you feel like you're not in Baltimore! The hosts were friendly and high energy, letting you know this will not be the same ole dining experience. The burlesque show which is complementary was outstanding. All the performers could easily get a gig with your local circus...So kudos to them!! The food taste great, although the Chilean Seabass was luke warm at best and for the price point, I wish the lamb chops, which were supurb, had one more chop..lol. The Bday dessert was a classy touch and very much appreciated! I thoroughly enjoyed Monarque and I'm looking forward to returning in the very near future!!

Yelp
This place is worth the hype, but expect DC prices on the check. Food: The mains & sides we tried were delicious - cote de boeuf, bone marrow, truffle frites, mac&cheese, crispy brussels sprouts. We shared the smoked salmon and gnocchi as apps, both were good, though small portions given they were described as the most shareable apps on the menu. Ambiance: dark, moody vibes, great music during Friday night dinner and not too loud to still have a conversation at your table. Service: our waitress was wonderful. What took a star off: We asked for a wine recommendation with the steak, which took a long time before informing us they were out of the bottle they recommended so we all but finished our meal before receiving the replacement wine. We were also celebrating a special occasion, manager came by at the beginning of the meal to congratulate us, but then we never received anything to celebrate (a free dessert or a glass of champagne) - felt like a strange thing to acknowledge without a follow through.

Yelp
I wanted so badly to give Monarque five stars, as that's what I was expecting. Overall, my partner and I had a lovely date night with great food in a beautiful restaurant and great service. Though, there are a couple reasons why I did four instead of five stars. We went for the restaurant week menu, which was $55 for three courses. You can look the menu up online. The thing I was most excited about was the steak frites being the wagyu bavette (as it's listed on their website currently). However, when we showed up, the restaurant week menu had the steak frites listed as a filet. I don't know what happened, but this was a bit of a let down. The steak was still perfectly cooked and delicious. One note I have - as you can see in the picture - is they served it with ketchup as opposed to the bearnaise. Our waitress was quick to remedy this when I asked, and she was very sweet. Also, the creme brulee was the "creme brulee du jour" for restaurant week as opposed to the pistachio - again, different than what they have listed on their site for restaurant week. That said, the creme brulee was a dulce de leche, and it was delicious. Moving on to the good parts, which is why my experience is still 4 stars, is that everything we ate and drank was absolutely delicious. The cocktails (I got a la vie en rose and an espresso martini) were both crafted well and presented beautifully. I would love to come back and just enjoy a nice cocktail or two as the ambience of this restaurant is perfect for that. Again, our service was great - no complaints on that front. All in all, Monarque is definitely a top tier restaurant but I'm not sure I'll be coming back for restaurant week in the future.

Yelp
Very atmospheric, with a long main bar and matching standup bar. People on dates gathered before a low performance stage, warm lighting for intimacy (but not dark)- immaculate bistro vibes. Like a lot of the Atlas restaurants, the bar program is standout. Great cocktails whether classic or on the menu. House wines were solid. I was more ambivalent on the bar food (I didn't try any entrees), but truffle fries and escargot were the standouts. It was quiet on a weeknight happy hour but absolutely packed on a friday night. I honestly wasn't sure what to expect coming here, but after 2 visits I'm sold on the concept. It's on the pricey side, but the weekday happy hour helps reduce that sting. I'll be back.

Yelp
Will be coming back to try the food. Only went for drinks this time and it was such a fun and unique experience.

Yelp
The food was ok. The mashed potatoes were bland to me. The price for the dishes is way too expensive. The food is not worth the price. Nonetheless, it was a nice experience!

Yelp
I surprised my husband for a birthday dinner here and we will 100% be back! We ordered a lot of dishes to share and try out: - asparagus & lobster: other than a little bit of shell in the lobster, it was awesome. - gnocchi: we loved the flavors with the short rib - lobster thermidor: it was my first time trying it and we both enjoyed it - short rib bourguignon: deliciously tender - bone-in ribeye: perfectly seasoned and cooked to our desired temperature - bone marrow: portions bigger than the last 3 places I've had bone marrow - potatoes gratin: usually, we don't go for this side, but I'm glad we did! it was moist all around and very good - creamed spinach: super creamy and my husband who usually doesn't eat much creamed spinach had a lot We've been to many $$$$ steakhouses, and this was probably one of my favorite ribeyes we've had in a while. Did we order enough for more than the 2 of us? Absolutely. Did we regret it? Not at all. Excellent service and beautiful ambiance. We definitely want to come back to see a burlesque show.

Yelp
Came here for my 30th birthday and had quite a time!! I loved it, the service was excellent, the ambiance was great, and the steak was the best steak I've ever had. EVER! From the moment you come in, you're greeted and welcomed in. Our waitress, CJ was super attentive and explained the menu (with items in French)-- water service was really good, never letting your glass get empty, constantly checking in. (A tip-- Plan out parking, it is harbor east, although valet parking is available and there are parking garages nearby/street parking.) Since this is a high end restaurant you get that extra treatment. We got free champagne for my birthday. Prices are not cheap or affordable by any means, but the quality of the restaurant is excellent and worth the price. We went during restaurant week, so it was only $55 for 3 courses which was an absolute steal!! They have fresh seafood so you won't be disappointed by that, and a live jazz band to enjoy as you eat. In conclusion, you won't be disappointed. I highly recommend them.

Yelp
Fun place for a drink and listen to live music, spent 2 hours and the time flew by. I loved the staff and ambiance. I went in around 8pm on a Saturday night. We were able to find seating near the bar. The service was quick, we had waters and menus right at the start. We ordered drinks at the bar and were served promptly. The wait staff was frequent in refilling our waters and asking if we would like another drink. The drinks we had were tasty and well made. Overall i think the staff is very professional. The ambiance was nice, it felt like a classic bar. Plenty of selections. I did have trouble listening to my friends. The bar can get loud when live music is playing. Good for handing out, but I do think its difficult if you are trying to get to know someone. The prices were reasonable and I am looking forward to visiting again whenever I am in Baltimore, a definite recommend

Yelp
Food was great. The service was great too - very attentive. Loved the live jazz music. Can't wait to go back. We tried the restaurant week menu.

Yelp
Wow wow wow I'm still overjoyed with my experience here. It was in May . But you don't forget amazing places. As I struggled through the menu because of my own issues and no fault my server checked on me just enough to make me feel at home, seriously amazing service. The food was immaculate! I have many dining reservations and restrictions but the server was extraordinary understanding! Many thanx and compliments to the chef for being accommodating. But I skipped my favorite part, as I glazed over the menu time and time again, sitting right next to what I noticed to be a stage, the curtains opened. Giving an amazing sultry show. This was my absolute favorite part of Baltimore! And speak easy you never know what you may

Yelp
One word to describe Monarque would be stellar! The experience from being seated to receiving the check was amazing! The staff truly cares about our needs as the customer. We went there for dinner about 6:45pm, perfect because the show started shortly after. The performers were amazing as well. Also, we went to celebrate my birthday. Our server hooked my party of 4 up with a round of shots, half dozen oysters, and a birthday treat at the end. I felt like Gordon Ramsey or a VIP. We had the Ribeye special cooked a perfect medium rare, a salad lyonnaise, tuna tartare, wagyu, sea bass, and shrimp. Plus several old fashioned cocktails all with the Sagamore Rye which were delicious and made the same each time we ordered them. The mixologists behind the bar are amazing at what they do. I will definitely be returning for another amazing evening.

Yelp
I don't think I've visited a single restaurant by the Atlas Restaurant Group where I have been disappointed or left underwhelmed. You will have a time at Monarque. Picture burlesque dancers as entertainment while you are indulging in a great meal. During my visit, I tried the ribeye, seafood tower, French onion soup, and potatoes au gratin. The ribeye was oh so juicy and seasoned to perfection! The seafood tower was fresh -- it included briny oysters, chilled lobster, shrimp, king crab and clams. I couldn't finish it all. The French onion soup was my fave. The broth wasn't too thick, but had a nice consistency with gooey, melted cheese. I thoroughly enjoyed. The potatoes au gratin was also a showstopper for me. It was thick, cheesy and comforting. My only gripe would be service. With a reservation, we still had to wait about 45 minutes. I wasn't happy about that, but the food made up for it. If in Baltimore and you're looking for a relaxing, but entertaining night, I don't think you can go wrong with Monarque. Make sure you have a reservation!

Yelp
The ambiance itself blew me away, my husband surprised me for our anniversary. I love the live entertainment. Staff were very friendly and attentive. So far all recommendations have been on point.

Yelp
Fun Night Out! I loved the entertainment! The food was decent. I'm normally a filet guy but I wanted to try a tomahawk. This was pretty flavorful but not as tender as my filet. The French onion soup and escargot were also flavorful. I would definitely recommend for a date night or special occasion.

Yelp
9'15'2022 Birthday Dinner !! I picked this place to celebrate my birthday dinner and what a great choice it was. Plenty of street parking, valet offered. Greeted by very kind gentleman who guided us into dining area. I was given a handwritten birthday card and royal treatment for my guests and I. #Love Five Star treatment, service, quality food, entertainment and environment provided for my 8 guests and I. Liz our wonderful table person was outstanding, consistent and on point w all orders, inquiries and requests. She took great care of us and with a smile. Plenty of oooohh's and ahhhh's over the menu, singing to the talented band and devouring our delish meal and beverage choices. All together we ordered... Gran Marnier Truffle Roasted Chicken 6oz Filet Mignon Crusted w Bleu Cheese Grilled Diver Scallops Potato Dauphinois Gratin Macaroni & Cheese Monarque Grand Plateau Empêchement - Buffalo Trace Bourbon, Yellow Chartreuse, Peach, Lemon, Brown Butter, Tarragon Each and every food item was delicious!! Everyone praised all menu items chosen. Everything was cooked to perfection and very flavourful. My personal favs were the Scallops, Empêchement and Truffle Roasted Chicken. This place is beautiful !! The photoshoot afterward in the back wine room was amazing and provided everlasting memories for my guests and I!! I 121% picked the best place for my birthday dinner and will return over and over again!! ** whispering ** I've returned back twice since birthday dinner for drinks and Burlesque and I continue to be impressed w everything Monarque. Keep up the unmatched work Atlas !!

Yelp
Love the look of the restaurant. Great picture opportunities throughout. The show was fun although I wish I was closer to the stage. Those performers deserve tips. I has the salmon plate appetizer as my meal and it was perfect. Sliced perfectly. The perfect complements added. Also had the brussel sprouts which I wasn't a fan but my friend liked. Very good experience and would revisit and recommend but want to be closer to the stage. Service was fine especially since they appeared to be to full capacity (Saturday night).

Yelp
The restaurant was everything I wanted and more. I decided to celebrate my birthday her (so did like 8 other people lol). The venue is dark with minimal lighting. Most of the light comes from the bar area and the stage. Seating is a bit close but not so closer where everyone is in everyone's conversation. It's pretty loud in there so it's honestly hard to hear your own table talk. The venue has live performances that seem to come on stage about every 15-20 minutes. The performances are cabaret style. The stage is in the back of the restaurant. There are tables set around the stage. That seating does make it slightly difficult to see the show as the serves do tend to get in the way. A slightly more elevated stage would be helpful. The performances do move to the walk way between tables so the other guest do get a close view of some of the show. The food and service was excellent. I can't remember the name of my waiter but he was very attentive and informative about the menu. He had almost a character accent that went along with the vibe of the place, I could dig it lol. I decided to order the femme fatale for my beverage. That was a one and done ( a little strong, for me). For my entree I went with the American Waygu bavette, rare.....came out perfect!!! I accompanied the bavette with a king crab leg, which they remove from the shell and chop up. Delicious!! The sides are made for sharing just like most steakhouses, we opted for the corn pudding which did not disappoint. Since I was celebrating my birthday the restaurant presented me with the strawberry hibiscus sundae with a candle. The dessert was the perfect wrap up of a perfect night. ***if you can park yourself or Uber/lyft please do so. The valet is parking for 4 restaurants and can take some time*****

Yelp
My husband and I had an incredible dinner here last saturday and wow, I look forward to going back already! In town for the weekend and found Monarque, steak, french wine and live jazz, I knew we had to go. It was saturday afternoon and there were no reservations online. We took a chance and had the concierge at the four seasons call, and we were able to get a table at 6:30 :) First thing, I loved the ambience. It reminded me of cafes in Paris and I really think they nailed the vibe. Our server was great, I don't recall her name but she was lovely, and so was the rest of the wait staff, very attentive. Food was delicious, we split the little lettuce salad (WOW!) I had the steak frites and my husband had the truffle chicken, both were great. The chocolate pot dessert was 10/10 and my cotes du rhone wine was special. The live jazz was super fun and the musicians were having a good time. Overall, it is one of my favorite dining experiences I have had in the DMV area. I look forward to coming back and bringing friends with. Thank you!

Yelp
Great entertainment (Burlesque show), amazing food, awesome staff!!! Lost a star for the longest wait time EVAH!!!! Reservation was for 8pm, do note if you're more than 15mins late they will charge the card on file $50 pp, we sat at the bar. 845 we are still waiting for our table so Luis the bartender made us a cocktail and ordered us some truffle fries which were some of the best truffle fries I've ever eaten!!!! 9pm we were seated at our table and Diego our waiter came and took drink orders (French 75 w/Tequila and a Fatale) , Duck Confits crepe as an appetizer spectacular!!Appetizer came out around 937pm. Our main course: Lamb chops alacarte, asparagus and the Salmon entree both were cooked nearly to perfection. The salmon had a nice crisp skin very very tasty.. which came out around 1010pm.. Long gaps in between the appetizer and main course.. don't go here starving like I was.

Yelp
When we got to the place it was in the cut in the back off of the street. Very nice. The hostess was very nice. They sat us in the back of the restaurant at first. We couldn't see to great so they moved our table. We had a better view from the new spot. We went on a Friday around 10 pm. The show starts at 10 and last a hour. The place closes at 12 but they do sell out of certain dishes. The waiter was ok it seemed like we had 3. One person for the water refills she was very consistent. It was someone who brought out the bread and the drinks. The show was nice very entertaining. The earlier you go the closer you will be by the stage, but the dancers do come off the stage to perform. The bread was hard, the truffle fries was a little cold but the dip was good. The burger was huge and good. The Brussel sprouts was really good. The steak and mashed potatoes was really good. The drink was ok I would do wine the next time. The ambiance was very low key and dem. I definitely would go back. A nice hidden gem.

Yelp
The food was amazing here. I had the NY strip and it tasted great. My dining companion had the sea bass and she loved it. The Mac n cheese was amazing. The asparagus was flavorful. And my second drink was great. Now for the cons because there are cons. I wanted to give this place five stars because the food and the ambiance was on point. But one, the space was a lot louder than I thought. I thought I'd be able to enjoy the burlesque show but the environment was more of a celebratory crowd, people celebrating birthdays, etc. Second, our waiter was a little all over the place. You can tell he meant well but he was a little extra then was trying to run game at the end. For instance, was there for a celebration. I think they were comping a dessert because he took super long to come back for our order and someone had to come in place to get our order. No biggie, loved the gesture. He had already implied this was going to happen with the deserts. I ordered a Paloma and it wasn't the greatest. He came back and asked if I liked my drink which I didn't. Switched it to the spicy mezcal margarita under his suggesting I try something else. I'm thinking this is just a switch out of the drinks. After the bill came the Paloma was still on it. He said he knew his manager may act funny that's why he comped the deserts. But to my understanding the deserts was already going to be a thing. But yeah that lack of transparency/trying to run game was a little annoying. I wasn't even intending to get another drink. Could have been forthright with that or just remove the drink. And he was just a little all over the iMacs in general. Meant well though, but didn't have to keep apologizing. We were having a decent time. Besides this would have given this place five stars. The food was that good. But keep in mind it's very loud in there so you won't be having an intimate night. I'd check it out and I'd surely come here again. It's worth the trip. Def get the Mac n cheese. It's very flavorful. Let me know what you think.

Yelp
Visited Baltimore for my birthday and had to try this place. It was wonderful. Service was outstanding. Our server gave so many great suggestions of food to try. They have live music and performances. The food was delicious and the drinks were on point. Then our server took us to the speak easy bar and we had even more fun and great drinks. Would definitely recommend.

Yelp
This used to be my favorite restaurant, however after my disastrous birthday dinner on 11/27 , I'll no longer be recommending nor going back to Monarque restaurant. Our server, forgot his name , but he had red weave, was rude and obnoxious, the food was lacking flavor, Tamika the manager and the Assistant general manager, spoke with me and apologized regarding the poor service we received which was nice and professional of them, but I will not be returning in the future.

Yelp
Awesome live music, wonderful and attentive service, and cool atmosphere. Our waiter was always on the ball, accommodated non typical requests, and did it with a smile.

Yelp
Super fun place with great drinks and awesome vibes. We were waiting for our table next door so came in here for drinks. Bartender was attentive, fast and friendly with a heavy pour. The performers were wonderful.

Yelp
~ I Really Really Really enjoyed myself at Monarque. I was looking forward to the shows that were presented, and boy did they live up to my expectations. Most importantly, the food was impressive at well. First and foremost, I'm a steakhouse guy & compare each steakhouse with nothing but love & respect. Off jump! The entrance gives red carpet energy. Lol. Walking through Tagliatas while the customers dine and stare at you is swagged out. Then entering the exotic establishment where staff immediately embrace you is beautiful. I started at the bar with an amazing Long Island ice tea as I waited for the rest of my party to enter. Perfectly made cocktail. For Dinner, we wanted to respect our love for amazing steak, but also try new dishes. So, we ordered the 32oz Tomahawk ribeye, and the 22oz Dry-aged bone-in ribeye topped with Alaskan King Crab (my favorite). Both steaks were delicious, but the bone in ribeye was on another level. This came out perfect and ended up cracking my "top 5 steaks" list. Along with the steaks, we order the Monarque Grand Plateau which was fresh, Parisian Gnocchi, burgundy escargot, bigeye tuna tartare, cream spinach, roasted mushrooms, macaroni & cheese & a cheese platter dish. Forgot the name of it.... Oh! & bone marrow Each dish was unique & I can see why people choose to eat some of what we selected. Me tho ? .. Diesèl ! .. I could never eat tuna tartare or bone marrow again. Very different. Not saying it was nasty, just not my style at all. I love the entertainment. I had great seats, & even took part in the young man's juggling act. Loved it. I'll def go back for the entire experience. Didn't have a prob with billing, seating, food, or the timing of the service. Beautiful place, beautiful people. They do have valet, and I believe they start a little bit after opening. It's not mandatory, because you can find parking all over. Hope you enjoy it. ~ #TeamDiesel4Evaaaa

Yelp
The vibes, the decor, the live music was everything. My boyfriend took me here for my birthday and i loved it. Love the lighting , the intimate setting. Date night spot!! The food was good , the duck crepe barely had any meat in there. The shrimp scampi was really good nice big and juicy with lots of flavor. My free dessert for my birthday was sooo good!! I wished they had mote options for waygu steak but they didn't. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our drinks. I would come back for live music and drinks when the dancers will be here.

Yelp
Very entertaining ambience which is the point of the restaurant. I went for RW and the options were good. Our waitress Lisa was nice & accommodating. One flaw is that the drinks are very petite

Yelp
We came to Monarque to celebrate after eloping. The entire staff was so wonderful. Our server Manny was especially stellar. We were given a cozy table away from other diners. The managers checked in on us frequently. All of the food and drinks were perfection. We felt like we had chosen the perfect spot for such a special meal. We look forward to returning.

Yelp
I can't say enough good things about my experience at Monarque! We celebrated my cousin's birthday here last night. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with smiles and multiple "hellos and welcomes." We were a large group and never felt rushed throughout our meal. Our server was attentive, friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. She took all of our orders, talked us through the menu and shared her favorites with us! Both managers on duty checked in on us multiple times and even helped serve our drinks when the place got a little busier. Our drinks were beautifully crafted and perfectly mixed. We ordered almost everything on the menu throughout the group and everything was delicious and very nicely plated! At the end of dinner, we watched the show and also saw the night crowd come in- it was a really nice ambiance! The show is classy, sophisticated and the performers were great with crowd interaction! For those looking to dine, do be aware that the menu is rather pricey for drinks and food alike. However, for the atmosphere, vibe and service- I would happily come here again! I've paid some pretty hefty prices for mediocre dining experiences and was let down at the end of them- it was the exact opposite here! Truly a 10/10 experience! To last night's staff, thank you for taking such great care of us! You made my cousin's birthday so much fun!

Yelp
Visited Monarque for the first time on a Sunday evening to celebrate my birthday x Father's Day with family. This French dinner theatre definitely earned its title as my new fave local restaurant! Interior was beautiful, very classy ambience. From the moment we walked in, service was impeccable- we were greeted warmly by the hostess and asked where we'd like to sit. She recommended we sit in the middle of the restaurant, in view of the stage but not too close nor too far. It was perfect since we could still hear each other and have a conversation. Our server, Manny, was fantastic and very attentive. He brought us the sommelier, who helped us select a delightful bottle of amarone wine (bottles happened to be half off that night, which was great)- we went with one of their house favorites, La Giuva. Very elegant, pretty taste. To start, tried their French 75 with cognac- delicious. For starters we had the escargot, gnocchi. For sides, the potatoes au gratin and bone marrow. For entree, I opted for the 6oz steak petit (closest thing they offer to filet mignon), medium rare. It was served on a bed of mashed potatoes. Every dish tasted great. Then the staff surprised us with a champagne toast, card, and dessert with candle. That night they had a singer/pianist performing, he was great and sang a ton of classics. Will definitely be back soon for the variety show on Fri & Sat nights! PARKING- you can park valet out front, or in either of 2 garages up the street for $5 parking on weekends.

Yelp
There's so much to say about Monarque. My favorite apps are the seared foie gras and the burgundy escargot, but the duck confit with crepes is up there as well. You can't go wrong with any of the entrees, including the steaks. If you go on Friday or Saturday nights, you can catch the burlesque show (which is more of a racy variety act). It's lots of fun, with sporadic dances and performances. Finally, I can't talk about Monarque without mentioning the gem in the crown: Keith. He's the best bartender in Baltimore, probably the whole DMV. I've been coming here for years and I've seen him take an interest in the story of every person that sits down at his bar. His service is impeccable and he's one of the main reasons I keep coming back (as if there weren't enough already).

Yelp
Dark, mysterious interior. My husband and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary here and were seated at a tiny bistro table by the stage. I get that they were trying to go for the French atmosphere but the table was way too small to fit our drinks and food comfortably. For drinks, I ordered the Bisou Chaton which had a great combination of flavors. I got the escargot to start and it tasted amazing - perfectly seasoned. For entree, I got the lobster thermidor which I've never had anywhere else before but the lobster tasted dry and overcooked. My husband got a steak which he said was good, but he's had better. We shared creamed spinach as a side and I love how creamy it was. For dessert, I got this passionfruit souffle crepe that was to die for and I still think about. It was an creamy eggy fluffy crepe with passionfruit syrup. Very large portion for dessert. Since we were celebrating, they provided us complimentary champagne which was really sweet! The service and show were the best parts. Super talented performers. Very attentive and friendly staff.
