Let’s start with ima very picky eater. I’ve never had a bad plate from her❤️🥹She’s so sweet n humble. She serves me my food every time she’s very respectful n her customer service is unmatched I’d give this restaurant 10 outta 10.

Absolutely delicious! Today was my first time eating here, and I’m honestly kicking myself for not trying it sooner — especially since I’ve lived in the neighborhood for so long! Normally, by the time I get home to Staten Island from work in the city, the restaurant is either closed or sold out for the day. But today I was off, and I’m so glad I finally stopped in. I ordered the jerk chicken, spinach, mac and cheese, and rice and peas — every single thing was incredible. “Delicious” doesn’t even do it justice! The owner was also so sweet and welcoming, which made the experience even better. This place is definitely my new go-to spot. Even if I have to call a neighbor to hold an order for me next time 🤣

My visit was horrible how do you as a business owner turn away potential brand new customers and you greet them at the door with "we don't have any more food "after only being open for 1 hour and a half???? This is very Inconsidered and apparently the owners do not give a dam, because as tight as money is for every one and someone choose to spend with your business is a honor, but we don't have any more people that appreciate loyal customers? Its every man for themselves and that is very sad to treat potential customers in that matter. The person behind the counter was laughing like it was funny, and he didn't offer a discount if you come back nothing so that means my presents was not needed at this restaurant, and on that note I will not be wasting anymore of my time returning to this place that has such a disreguard for possible customers. Normally on the note of not losing customer you would offer something to get them to return but that didn't happen. What kind of business does that?

I am a picky eater, but I promise you this food taste amazing. I had the rice and peas. Vegetable and plantain and stew, 😋 will definitely recommend .

First time trying here. Bunch of local People started to line up before opening, right then I knew this is the spot. Super clean, great customer service, and delicious food. Portion is generous. I got Ox tail, Rice & Beans, Mac & Cheese. Medium size, I couldn’t finish them in one meal. Their hot sauce is also delicious and spicy!

Delicious! Food is always fresh and perfectly seasoned. Jerk chicken is the bomb, the spinach and chicken/Turkey is amazing and the oxtails are the best (I judge all oxtails I've had after coming here by her oxtails). Mona's will not disappoint.

The best on Staten Island the food is amazing . The service is the best / very together and polite. The ambiance is beautiful Over all 10 out of 10.

So I was in Staten Island and craving African food. This place had great google reviews... I had to try it myself, stop in ask questions, and try it!!! Mona is the life line and you can taste her passion in her food... she cooks from her heart and wants everyone to experience her craft. The spice literally has flavor!

I love love love this place! The food is great and service is amazing. The portions are very pleasing, and the taste is consistent! I've traveled all the way from upper Westchester just to have lunch at this location! Monas food is definitely cooked with love and you can taste it in every dish! You better get there early because the food goes fast, sometimes it takes a minute but it's well worth the wait.

My sister roberta has been telling me about this place for a long time and I finally got to go there today and I wasn't disappointed.I had the jerk chicken,Mac and cheese,spinach,cabbage,rice&beans and plantains and every was freaking delicious,can't wait to go back.

I am grateful to find this Oasis of food and comfort. The food,service, atmosphere is a five star experience. I highly recommended this restaurant for all of my fellow lovers of food. A friend of mine spoke highly of the food. So I stopped by Mona's for the first time just to check out the menu. When I arrived food was practically gone and it was early! That's always a good sign. Anyhow Mona was there and she was so friendly. She even gave me a small plate of what was left so I can try it. I left and I couldn't wait to taste it. Omg I was floored! The food was sooo good. Tasty and moist nothing dry. It was so good. Her food is mostly gone early so you have to order early. Small Seating area but cute where she shares photos of her family. I can't wait to go back to eat there. My schedule won't allow me to get there early. I may have to take a day off. Lol. See you soon Mona! And all the best. Staten Island was in need of you.

Delicious food. I got oxtail, rice and beans and Mac and cheese. All excellent. Oxtail was tender and fell off the bone. Loved the flavor of the rice. The Mac and cheese and the cheesy crust on top that I love. Nice portion size too.

Food is EXCELLENT , flavorful and affordable! Get there early tho because the food goes ! This is one place on the Island you MUST TRY !

The best food I've eaten in the area. All of the staff is always so pleasant every time I go. The jerk chicken, curry chicken, oxtails, spinach, and mac & cheese are my favorites!

The food selection is good and taste even greater . My favorite two Dishes are the spinach and cassava leaf.

Hands down one of the best restaurants on Staten Island! Wish the hours of operation was longer!

three stars because honestly the food is good , but a few things that are shady about this place 1. If your not a regular customer expect Doris to give u a smaller portion than everyone else who dines frequently and is friendly with her ,standing in line watching her serve as you wait for your turn is a clear opportunity to observe her doing this right in front of your face she done it to me before so I figure I'd order a large n see if that made a diff but no it didn't ,still shorted me 2. Ask for a receipt ! I ordered a large spinach w white rice ( she will give you a ton of rice so she can skimp on the main dish and your side)w a Mac n cheese side (which she gave me less than I paid for) and her help rang me up as a more expensive dish not what I actually ordered, I asked for a receipt and he owed me four dollars and was so embarrassed and caught off guard at the request of a receipt he didn't even press me for the all of the taxes owed . Good food , crooked people . I don't feel right supporting her knowing she does this intentionally so I will not be back, but best of luck to her .

This small place is a gem. It's a small spot on 360 Targee but it's packing huge flavor! My go to is always the spinach and baked Mac and Cheese. Listen everything is good so hurry and get there because they run out w the demand.
