My husband and I stayed at Monkey Island for two nights for my 40th birthday and our anniversary. We arranged with the hotel to get picked up by a taxi at Maidenhead station, which was an efficient and professional service that took about 10 minutes to arrive at Monkey Island. The check-in staff were friendly and professional, and the check-in building smelt amazing! We stayed in The Barn, which was beautiful! Our room was lovely, with a comfortable bed and walk-in shower with Elemis products. The hotel staff left us a hand written welcome note and a bottle of prosecco in our fridge which was a lovely touch. We had two massages each on The Floating Spa, which were the best massages we've ever had-Beverley and Lucy were both fantastic masseuses. The short walk to the spa boat through the wild flowers was stunning. We had dinner and breakfast in the Monkey Island Brasserie, and they were delicious. The dining area is beautiful and feels very relaxed (definitely check out the paintings on the walls and ceiling of the Monkey Room!). The staff (Emelia, Clara, Azlan, Karla, and Lilian) were incredibly friendly and helpful, and we took Emelia's recommendation and had a lovely walk around Bray Lake and into Bray Village. We also loved walking around the beautiful grounds and seeing the geese and swans. A fantastic place to stay, and we definitely hope to return!
