"Since 2013, Monta Chaya on Eastern Avenue in southeast Las Vegas endured a shutter, a revival, and a move to the Silverado Center, but after surviving the pandemic, the restaurant has announced 'it's sad to say that we are temporary closed until further notice.' Unable to predict a return date, but affirming 'we will come back to serve you again,' Monta Chaya was open daily from noon to 8 p.m and served a Kurume-style tonkotsu ramen menu, plus Japanese tapas dishes including steamed chashu pork buns and karaage chicken." - Bradley Martin

Me and my family come here ALL THE TIME. We love the food, staff, and general vibe of this restaurant. Everyone is really nice, and they always have great food. The broth is not salty or filled with gross MSG. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to try Japanese Ramen Noodles and other authentic food.

The ramen at this place is excellent. My girlfriend and I go there constantly. The place is almost always crowded, and there's usually at least a little wait to get a seat.... Proof that the food is good, and the locals know it.

This place renewed my love for ramen. The food is good and there are aspects of this restaurant that are rarely found in Japan these days. If you are not full be sure to get another bowl of noodles for your soup.

As someone who grew up eating instant noodles, finding this place is like being given a bag of diamonds! OK, maybe that is an exaggeration but, nonetheless, Monta Ramen is a gem! We came here for the second time in two weeks because my husband and I wanted Asian cuisine and our first trip here inspired cravings. I ordered the Kuro Ramen Black Garlic Oil noodles and my husband ordered the Tonkotsu Shoyu Ramen. Both come with this deliciously flavored broth, but mine just had this extra layer of garlic favor on top. I can't say that the noodles are that out of the ordinary, but it's this broth that will keep us coming back! Both come with two pieces of pork, black mushroom, bamboo and green onions. I like to add condiments from the table, namely the pureed garlic and sesame seeds. We order the bowl of extra noodles to supplement our meals and to share with our young ones. Y'all gotta come here! This place is excellent! Three tips: 1. The restaurant was a bit hard for us to find at first because it's a bit small amongst all the much bigger, surrounding storefronts. So look carefully. 2. Like all the restaurants around town, good taste must mean high sodium content, so make sure to drink lots of water during and after your meal! (The noodle broth does NOT taste overly salty in an aversive way!) 3. They don't take reservations, but coming before 6 pm helped us get a table quick. After that, every single seat fills up incredibly fast!

My go to Ramen place. Not much room for dinning however the food comes out fast. The Ramen is the best I have had here in Vegas. The broth is so good it will have you drinking from the bowl!

I was spoiled, the first time I ate real ramen was in Tokyo and I fell in love with it, the flavor, the smell, everything. Every time I visit a town with a ramen shop I try it but was disappointed every time until I tasted it here, it's the closest to an authentic Japanese ramen. Highly recommend.

Best ramen I have ever had! Place is small, and there's often a wait, but they clear tables fast and it's worth it. Menu isn't large, but every single thing on it is great.

Service at this location was good; we had the miso and tonkatsu ramen with a side of gyoza. Both the ramen were subpar, with the broth being way too salty and clearly behind its peers in the area. I must say, that the noodles were the one saving grace about this spot. They were cooked perfectly and had a satisfying texture. We were given very small pieces of pork compared, to other locations within the city. It made us think, that they didn't want our service or they thought it was okay to serve such small portions. We were highly offended that they allowed that to be served and made us not want to come back to this spot again. To top it all off, the gyoza was tough, chewy and tasted like plastic. We could easily tell it was not freshly made and wish we had not ordered it. That’s why this location deserves 2 stars, for the food and 4 stars for the service. When comparing this location to other ramen restaurants in the city, this is the bottom of the barrel. I highly recommend JINYA Ramen Bar or Ramen Sora both near Spring Mountain Rd for better ramen and gyoza.
