Taku, Milk Bar, and Other Recent Seattle Restaurant Closures to Know | Eater Seattle

"A small window inside the new Montana Badlands bar that served mezze and desserts from Taylor Cheney (owner of the next-door Yalla) has shut down; it's unclear exactly what happened, though Montana patrons can still bring in food from Yalla." - Harry Cheadle

Seattle’s Hottest New Bars, Winter 2025

"After a relatively brief stint as La Dive’s second location, this lower Queen Anne public house has evolved into a new iteration of Capitol Hill’s popular Montana — with some cool new twists. Badlands brings its predecessor’s fan favorites (picklebacks and cocktails on tap!) to the neighborhood, along with its own custom neon lights and decor. Most notably, the revamped spot features a Middle Eastern food menu from Hayati Mezze and Sweets. Something about late-night herb-seasoned Lebanese fried potatoes alongside a blackberry smash just feels right." - Brianna Gunter

Seattle’s New Restaurant Openings

"A second Montana location replaced the former La Dive in Queen Anne. You can expect picklebacks, whiskey sours on tap, and all the usual drinks the dive bar is known for. But the food will be provided by Hayati Mezze & Sweets, which serves Middle Eastern dishes like fava bean falafel, herby Lebanese fried potatoes, and manoushe with rotating toppings. Google
Montana Badlands is one of my favorite places to visit. It is fully accessible by wheelchair and very much any other mobility device that you need to use. The bar staff and managers and owner are so supportive of every community including the disability community that I 100% recommend this place whether you're just passing by for an event or you're just strolling through the neighborhood. Make this a go-to stop!

My partner and I stopped here and had a few drinks while we waited for our bus, and we were both delighted by what we had. Their $5 picklebacks are tasty! Their canned drinks, well drinks, and drinks on tap are all reasonably priced as well. Our visit was very cozy, and a great escape from the rain. We want to try the something from their kitchen next time!

Google
Perfect blend of excellent food, dive bar vibes, and chill atmosphere. This is the bar Queen Anne has been waiting for. Come for the pickle backs, stay for the Mediterranean fusion snacks.

This is a great bar but also I left my wallet behind and they held onto it for two full days, everything safe and accounted for. Five stars.

FUN dive bar with great cocktails (the mule was FANTASTIC) and yummy food. Very nice vibe.

If you have been to Montana in CapHill, then this bar will feel just like that. Montana Badlands was a nice discovery in Queen Anne area. It’s still in ‘Soft Opening’ status so it’s limited in drinks and food but if you want a beer you will definitely find it here. Atmosphere and Service was a 10/10

Google
Place is great. Good drinks, food and music. All the bartenders I've met have been rad and the food has been good as well. Cozy environment but well laid out. This isn't one of the stadium food priced tourist trap style places around the area. Go in, have a beer a shot and some grub. Awesome cocktails on tap too.

Google
This eclectic dive is a small but super cozy nook to hang. Hayati is the kitchen adjunct to the bar inside serving delicious mezze’s and small plate fare. (Get the Hawashi, you’ll thank me later) And also the perfect spot to be before any event at Climate Pledge or any show in the area. Cheap drinks and great bartenders! Ben and Tony are absolute sweetie pies and are worth your time by many! Just a hop skip away from anything in Lower Queen Anne. Pay this place a dang visit!

Yelp
Great dive bar, $4 tall boy or Rainier (cannot beat that!) plus they have food and pretty good service. Highly recommend this place if you're coming to climate pledge.

Yelp
Once again, we walked in at around 5:30pm hoping to get a couple burgers. This time, we were told to order from another window rather than from the bartender. No one was there, so we ordered drinks and sat to wait for someone to be at the window. The Banana Pudding shot was excellent, but it wasn't advertised as a shot on the board which would have been nice to know. My boyfriend enjoyed his Pineapple Margarita. We finished our drinks, and still no one to be found by the window to take our food orders. We thought last time was a fluke, but it seems to be the norm for Badlands to advertise food but not have any. We might come back for drinks, but stay away if you're hoping to get some grub

Yelp
Stopped by for a quick drink before the Death Cab for Cutie show. Bartender was nice, great drink menu and small bites. Plus the pickle juice for pickle backs is a 20 year recipe. What more could you ask for? 5/5!!Bonus points for the Christmas lights. Every good dive bar has em.

Yelp
If you're into a dive bar atmosphere this is for you. Christmas lights is always a good sign. The music was The bartender was so kind and had great recommendations for drinks . It's nearby great food options as well but I'd recommend their food menu. If I lived in this area I would definitely make this a regular spot. Check this place out!!

Yelp
Great DIVE BAR. Everyone is chill and it has an over all rock and roll vibe. There's a good menu and clean bathrooms. Fernet on tap, craft beers, Rainier tall boys. Stopped by after a concert at Climate Pledge because it was close. This spot VIBES!!!

Yelp
When you walk in, you may think the place has been robbed. Fake graffiti covers the walls and it's clear that it's been quickly added as "decor" rather than a natural evolution over time. Nevermind, you are here, may as well try the drinks and food. Drinks are standard dive bar fare, gone is the extensive wine and cocktail list of Le Dive. A something and something is fine. But the worst offense is the food. Everything tastes like someone dumped a box of Morton's into it- the salt will burn your mouth, it is that completely inedible. Our server tasted a sample from the kitchen and was shocked at how bad it was. But they continued to serve it to other customers the rest of the night...

Yelp
This place is what the neighborhood needs; personable and welcoming bartenders, movies on the tv, and an easy place to meet people. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Bartender was friendly and nice! Gave us good suggestions for other bars and food. Burger was delicious!

Yelp
Solid beer selection, loved the blackberry smash (their cocktails are on tap!), bartender was great, and our group easily got a table after a Kraken game. Can't wait to come back to try the food!
