Visited Thursday, July 24 – Monte Xanic is a must for wine lovers! We did the Aromas and Flavors experience, which included a beautiful tour of the winery, a fun tasting game where we guessed ingredients by taste and smell, and a delicious cheese board to pair with the wines. The experience was playful, relaxing, and set against the backdrop of stunning vineyard views. Sip local. Support local.

Google
I never would have imagine a winery like this in the middle of the Mexican dessert. This place has everything and I would dare to say is at par or better than most Napa/Sonoma wineries. The views, the service, the wine, the attention to details, the different games to make the tasting experience better, the tapas, the knowledge of the people, all made for an elevated experience surpassing the best wineries in other regions. We went with the blind wine tasting and the personnel made the whole thing super interesting, fun and educative. I have never seen this in other wineries. And we learned that the winery has other experiences depending on your group. The wine was superb. Their reserve was our favorite. While not cheap, compared to others, it was completely worth it. This is one of those places to visit when visiting Valle.

Google
I can’t say enough good things about how memorable and beautiful this place is. The wine tasting where you smell and identify notes was so unique and well executed. It’s $60 a person so definitely pricey but included the full experience, a cheese board, and a short tour. I’m so so glad we came here

Damien R.

Google
They were able to seat us on the lake, which was amazing. Super refreshing and relaxing. their Sauvignon Blanc was delicious and service was great.

Google
Loved the winery. It's a beautiful property and our guide Abril was great. You do need a reservation though. Tried to come here a year ago and was turned away at the gate. This time we had a reservation and tried some very good to great wines, for a tour of the winery, and were able to enjoy time just hanging out there. At the end they let us keep our wine glasses. The Gran Ricardo wine has some hype to it; tried it and it is worth it. Ended up taking a bottle home.

Google
We got there having no reservations. We were allowed to the lower side of the winery, next to the lake- which is great too! It’s quiet, relaxing, the wines are great. Try the cabernet with the bread options. You will love it here!

Google
What an incredible place. Monte Xanic was our favorite winery we visited in the area by far. Not only was the wine superb, and the views stunning, but our tour guide / wine tasting “guru” -Sara, really knew her stuff. She truly knew how to describe wine in a way that made us want to buy all of the bottles in the winery. The wine in an of itself though tasted delicious all the way down the line (I think we tried all of the ones on the tasting menu, plus the ones they served by the glass - ha!!) it’s also really cool to note that this winery was truly started by Mexicans for Mexicans which made it feel like a truly “Mexican wine” experience which I think is what we wanted to go for when we came to the area. We highly recommend this winery and we will definitely be back. Thanks Sara for being the perfect guide! Next time we come back, I hope you’re managing the place!! 😊

Google
Would go back here and would recommend to friends/family! Beautiful view, nice tour and good wines. Reservation required and it does have EV chargers in the parking lot.

Yelp
Great winery under a canapé of shade and olive trees. Make a reservation if you come because it does get busy. The grounds are beautiful. When you arrive, you sit at the pond. There are plenty of tables underneath some canopies. You can order a tasting or you can order glasses or bottles. They bring everything to your table complete with a nice refreshing washcloth to freshen up. We were a party of 10 and choose two bottles plus a cheese plate. The restrooms are also very nice and clean. You enter the winery right from the main highway. There is a guard that lets you in.
google avatar

Sophia S.

Yelp
Fun experience. We did a tasting where we had to guess which of the smells is not in the wine we were tasting. The person attending to us had great energy and was attentive. The view was nice.

Yelp
Two Tasting Experiences: Aromas y Sabores/Aromas & Flavors: $980 Pesos ($61 USD); Cata Excepcional/Exceptional Tasting (single varietal blind tasting): $980 Pesos ($61 USD), as of our 8/8/24 visit. Each tasting included four pours and a small charcuterie board. You can also purchase bottles and sit and enjoy in the winery or covered patio. We've been coming to Valle de Guadalupe for about 15 years now, however this was only our second visit to Monte Xanic. The winery and property are beautiful, and they even have 3 or 4 EV chargers onsite. I was a little put off that they only offered two "gimmicky" tasting & tour combos, but we ended up choosing the "Aromas y Sabores", which started with a winery tour, and ended with a game of guessing three aromas for each wine poured, choosing the one aroma that didn't belong, and guessing what they were. Alejandra "Ale" was our hostess, and she was absolutely wonderful (especially putting up with my initial attitude). During the tour, she stated that Monte Xanic is the fifth largest winery in Mexico with an annual production of 100,000 cases. The wines are well made, but like our first visit, they didn't really connect with our palates. That being said, you should always try for yourself, as everyone's wine palate is unique and what I dislike, you may love...and vice versa. I'm not going to tell you what we tasted, as that may spoil it for someone who's just going to visit, however it was a white, a rosé, and two reds. Overall, Monte Xanic is a beautiful winery with well-made wines, good service, and amazing views. Unfortunately, their wines are just not exactly what we're looking for. It's definitely worth a visit.

Yelp
Went during the week as a group of 4. We didn't have a reservation (so we did not get to visit the main building/area), but we were able to enjoy the deck area for a tasting. The deck area is quite large with ample seating. There were two other groups when we arrived, but they were so far away it felt like we were the only ones there. Arrived before Noon, stayed for nearly 2.5 hrs. Atmosphere: 5 Service: 5 Wine: 5 The wine we enjoyed here was one of our favorites during our trip.

Yelp
We were a group of 4 this past Saturday we just google and based on the yelp reviews we landed here, we did not have reservations and wanted to sit at the top overlooking the lagoon and hills, but instead we were seated on the bottom deck ( so reservations are required), I had the Rose and my friends ordered a bottle of the Merlot we all loved our Wine and we ordered the cheese appetizers with bread, our server was a young lady with a great attitude and customer service. I love it how the minute we drove in, from the entrance everything was well 100% secured, guards at the door and near parking lot to direct you were to park and escort you to the deck. that's a plus when in Baja lol.

Yelp
Always my favorite winery when I'm in the Valle De Guadalupe. The wines and the view are spectacular

Yelp
I enjoyed my time at Monte Xanic. It's a beautiful winery with a lot of history. We made a reservation for a tasting and tour. We got to see the inside of the winery in which they had built into the cliffs. The views were stunning and the wine was also pretty solid. Our server/ tourguide was very knowledgeable on the property and history. I docked 1 star because our server had told us that we could bring 1 bottle per person back through the border and the rest would be a $1 tax. This information made us decide to buy a few bottles. When going back to the states, we learned that there is no such thing as a "wine tax" and you cannot bring multiple bottles of wine back.

Yelp
We love VDG, but not so much the wines as they aren't as good as say Paso or Sonoma. So we try to only do 1 winery when we come to not be disappointed or waste time. We rather spend $ on the incredible VDG food scene! I've had an eye on MX for awhile. For about $28 ish, you can do a tasting with a mix of whites and reds. The winery is lovely, very well established and a nice tasting area along with the barrel room. They give you a little tour first then you get to sit and enjoy the wines and views. The wines were not that bad. I would say definitely one of the better ones in VDG. We found maybe 2 that we liked and even bought 2 bottles of the white one. If we didn't have a huge lunch after, we would have tried some food. Great service too! Put MX on your VDG wine tour!
google avatar

Becky L.

Yelp
I really enjoyed the wine here. it was our first stop and it was perfect. This place is reservation only, so book ahead! We were taken on a tour of the production area and then we sat outside to enjoy our tastings. They had three options of tasting packages ranging from $32-$39 per person (USD) that generally had 4 pours each. We snakced on a delicious cheese board and enjoyed the modern building and beautiful lake overlook. The server spoke English very well and was able to tell us all about the wine and its flavor profile. she did an excellent job. If you're looking for photo worthy locations with good wine - check this place out.

Yelp
Wow! We've tried Monte Xanic wines before, so having the opportunity to visit the winery and to do a tour and tasting was very special. The actual property is gorgeous, and the wines are very reasonably priced (we brought home quite a few bottles). Definitely will be returning again and again.
google avatar

Yelp
Horrible.... A winery with so many awards and when we you call nobody answers the phone or don't have updates in the website about events, walking ins or something , we stop by and the door man explains to us that they have especial event that day...
google avatar

Theresa N.

Yelp
We came here on a rainy weekday and it was a surprisingly good experience. We normally gravitate towards more boutique wineries but we visited with friends who hadn't gone to VDG before and wanted them to experience one of the larger wineries in the region. We made reservations for a tour & tasting and while the tour was short and dismal, the tasting pours were delicious and generous in size. We also ordered a cheese board which was pretty good. We sat at a table inside by the window and it felt like the best seat in the house. We'll definitely make this a stop again the next time we're in the valle.

Yelp
For $28 USD splurge and get the premium tasting. The service was excellent and our sommelier explained the wines so thoroughly. We ended up taking two bottles to go. Even though Monte Xanic is pretty widely commercially available, there is at least one wine you can only get at the vineyard. For the rest, it's best to buy at the vineyard to save on distribution costs. Beautiful grounds and views as well. You won't need more than an hour here until they start up the tours again.

Yelp
One of the best wineries in Baja California and a pretty good tour. We liked all the wines. The restaurant was delicious, service was great. Recommended.

Yelp
Definitely our favorite winery and tasting experience from our most recent trip to the Valle. First off, friendly reminder to make a reservation in advance to ensure you get past the gates and into their incredible space. Though they are one of the oldest and largest wine producers in the region, the winery itself is surprisingly intimate. We definitely enjoyed the boutique feel. After a smooth check-in, we opted for the $28/person premium tasting. The employees cleaned off a table with incredible views of the lake and valley. Mariel took outstanding care of us. She was thorough and thoughtful in her explanation of the wines, as well as just plain warm in her demeanor. We enjoyed everything we tasted. The limited edition Syrah Cabarnet and Calixa blend particularly stood out. Such a serene, relaxing, and pleasant experience. Having experienced this, I'd allocate even more time to spend here -- can't wait to return to enjoy an entire bottle! Cheers.

Yelp
We have a very magical experience by the lake, which is only opened on the weekend for those that don't have a reservation.

Yelp
My husband and I spent a few days in Mexico and wandered around the Valle for a full day. Monte Xanic has great views and the Grenache was quite good (think a dry rose'). Their cheese and bread plate was good. The cheese was mellow and the bread was drizzled with olive oil. The set-up needs some work. You pay first, then they seat you and then either deliver your wine to you or serve you at the tasting bar. It was a warm day when we went but were seated outdoors and upstairs with a smaller bar. It wasn't ideal, since there is limited seating and the group we met couldn't fully be seated with us but we made it work. Had the seating been more comfortable, we would've stayed a lot longer.

Yelp
Such a great experience. Thank you Diego for the set up and sarah for the fantastic tour. Been drinking this wine for year but so informative. Gotta come back.
google avatar

Mina M.

Yelp
The views are really beautiful here. Make sure to make a reservation beforehand. The wine was fairly good and the staff did a good job of explaining each wine and spoke good English. The place is tucked away so it does feel very peaceful and quiet up there. Note that dogs are not allowed unless service dogs. Our dogs are service dogs and we still had issues at the main gate when entering. We did enjoy it here and would recommend visiting. We bought two bottles of wine to take home and enjoyed them very much.

Yelp
One of my favorite wineries in Ensenada! They have beautiful views and really put some thought and effort in to their winery. The ambiance is beautiful. My favorite thing at this winery is "the cave". You HAVE to do the tour and go in to the cave. It's a sight worth seeing (see attached pictures). They have a nice picnic area by a man made lake that's wonderful to sit by and sip wine. It's a really relaxing and tranquil place. The white wines are the best thing here. I recommend you have a flight and try all the whites.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I decided to try this place out on our first trip to Valle de Guadalupe. We made a reservation online via email (they check at the gate) and we were not sorry! Mara was our wine tour guide and she was fantastic! We were given a tour of their property- their winery is actually inside part of the mountain! Its modern with really cool architecture. After the tour we were given our wine tastings and I ended up buying a bottle to take with me! A bonus is that they also let you keep your glass! We will definitely be back the next time we are in the area! Check this place out if you're coming this way :) Also, we had a winery tour later on in the day at a DIFFERENT winery and were disappointed with the quality... Monte Xanic is where it's at!
google avatar

Monica M.

Yelp
Called, sent a message online and even showed up to make an reservation for tasting with ZERO success.
google avatar

Yelp
This winery is BEAUTIFUL! The water really makes you feel like you've left the valley and were transported somewhere else. I wish it wasn't so damn cold outside the day we were here because we definitely would've stayed longer. We opted for the wine tasting and went for the reds. They offer tastings of reds, whites or mixed. My favorite was the last one which was a blend. Really delicious! I can't wait to come back to this spot when this June gloom finally goes away! It's definitely going to be added into our rotation in Valle!
google avatar

Brianna R.

Yelp
Please note: we went during the first weekend of November. This was our first stop in Valle! I think Monte Xanic was the one we were the most excited to see! We had our reservations in about 2 weeks in advance. Super easy process online. You do have to put a card on file but you are not charged until you get there or unless you don't show up. We got there and you have to go through the vineyard, which is beautiful! There's a little pond and I believe a restaurant at the bottom.. I could be wrong. We got there and they gave us the options of the tastings we could from. Ps. You can just order a bottle of wine. We got the mixture of 5 wines. We were new to wine tasting so our guide taught us how to properly hold the glass and the proper way to drink wine. They wen through the history of Monte Xanic and would bring out the each bottle and explain to us the process and ask us what we smelled and so on. It was honestly such a great experience. I didn't know what to expect and I was not disappointed! The view was also BEAUTIFUL. Unfortunately, I took more videos than pictures. But I posted a screenshot of one of my videos. Covid: Super clean. You get there and they make you wipe your shoes on a mat with what I think had water and soap. They take your temperature and have you put on hand sanitizer. The guide and employees had their mask on the whole time. Highly recommend!!

Yelp
The views from this winery are incredible and worth taking time to sit outside and drink a glass or two. We had a wonderful tour set up through Tim B.'s YSB trip and got to learn about the wines with regards to the production and variety of wines. The sauvignon blanc was my favorite and was the first one I've had where it was colorless. Usually, I thought they had a blonde tinge, but this one looked like vodka. Cheers to that! They were pretty busy and it seems comparable to other bigger wineries. Honestly for me, the highlight of the trip besides the sauvignon was the tour. It makes you appreciate it more when you know where the wine comes from and the work people put into it.

Julie L.

Yelp
I have been buying their wine for a few years now. We live in LA and I was introduced to their wines in CDMX while On vacation. We had been planning a trip back to Valle De Guadalupe for some time now. Although we had visited there before we had never made it to Monte Xanic. I called the week before and they told me I only needed a reservation for the restaurant. We went to Valle in celebration of my 50th birthday and when we arrived at the gate the guard would not allow us to enter without a reservation!! I explained we called and what they told us but he claimed due to the " pandemic" they had reservation only tastings!! Incredibly dissatisfied and disappointed!! We had ZERO issues spending our money and buying wines at other top locations! NO ONE required reservations!! Absolutely absurd and disappointing. We ended up going to Casa Magoni, Domecq, Erre, Shedeh and a few other wonderful places with wines that we're outstanding! We ate and ended our evening at Elena Restaurant next door to Bakkus Oyster house which was beyond excellent!! None of which required reservations and we're more than happy to serve us! Never recommending Monte Xanic again!!

Yelp
This place has an excellent white wine. The staff is sweet and fun. The architecture is young and fun. Simple lines with a nice job of incorporating the natural landscape, especially the large boulders found in the natural landscape. The red wines where good but the white was the key.
google avatar

Cinthya Q.

Yelp
Great vineyard with great wine. You can sample it inside the main building atop the vineyard or beside the pond. Both a great options but I prefer the main building. It has great views- overlooks the pond and gets a great breeze in the hot Baja sun. We had a tasting in the bar area and the bartender was veryknowledgeablee and kind. She even gave me a card of where I could find Baja wine in Chicago. I would recommend doing the mixed wine tasting (whites, a rosé, and reds available) otherwise you'll have to choose between reds or whites. I recommend the White wines and the rosé. The sauvignon blanc was delicious and a great way to beat the heat. Definitely a place to add to your Baja wine crawl.

Yelp
Wonderful wine & cheese board. So glad we stopped here! Right on the lake and so relaxing

Yelp
This was the best winery I visited in Valle de Guadalupe thus far. The excellent experience began from the moment we arrived at the gate. I was admittedly in a bad mood because most of the valley is overpriced (think Napa prices) but the roads getting everywhere are either rough dirt or full of potholes. However, when you walk in to this winery, you feel like it's a very professional, luxurious wineries with great wines and even better service. Sarah took care of us and she is highly skilled at her job, made us feel very welcome, and answered every wine related question we had. We hope to come back when the infrastructure of the area matches the high prices and inflexible policies.
google avatar

Sabrina R.

Yelp
giving them a one star because there is no option for no stars. were turned away because only customers with reservations are taken on the weekend. After driving three hours just to be turned away with absolutely no effort to accommodate us when in fact, all tables were empty at the time, was unbelievable. this place is sure to lose lots of money with their no sense policy because good service is what makes a good business. so keep driving pass this winery and go to a place that is more accommodating, more welcoming, and has a friendlier service

Yelp

Yelp
Get over yourself! This place is like a gorgeous person with a bad attitude and no heart. The location is beautiful but their service sucks and their wines are not very good. My cousin secured some reservations. Yup, you have to reserve a time slot for a tasting. Very pretentious, I mean exclusive. We checked in at the gate and parked. We walked up to the tasting room. The views, patio, and tasting room are gorgeous. There was some miscommunication at the register so we got stuck doing a tour before our tasting. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and nice. She was informative and kept us engaged. She was literally the only person here who was good at their job! I don't understand why they bother asking for reservations. The tasting bar was grossly understaffed. It took forever to get our pours. We only had four people tasting and they couldn't keep up, it was awful. They have plenty of space and could afford to hire enough people to accommodate their reservations. It's sad because it would be nice to taste outside or at the tables with a great view by the window. If they are gonna charge like Napa Valley they better get their staffing and service up to par. Overall, the wines were mediocre. There was one reserve white that we enjoyed and the Malbec was good. Sad to see the potential of this place wasted.

Yelp
Great wine. People are friendly and open to share about wine. Beautiful property.

Yelp
It's just mind boggling that they would not update their website about reservations being through their insta.

Yelp
The most beautiful winery! We loved our experience here. Edgar was an excellent tour guide - so friendly, funny and immensely knowledgeable! We tasted many wines, too, (delicious!) and their fabulous olive oil. Highly recommend.

Yelp
I actually came here on a student trip with my college and we got the opportunity to tour the winery and see how their production happens! We also had the opportunity to do some wine tasting and also eat amazing fish tacos! Honestly the fish tacos were my favorite part of this trip... plus I didn't try the wine, but I heard mixed thoughts. Some loved the ones they tried, others were too dry, some felt they had tasted betters, others loved it. Others just wanted to get tipsy off of wine. The actual winery has a gorgeous view! The photos I took certainly do justice to how nice it was, although walking from where we ate to where the winery is was long and hot. They have a nice little bar area in their actual building with a nice outdoor shaded area that allows people to sit out there and drink wine. When we visited there was a tour group of older folks, not sure what they were doing but they were standing around while we walked through. If you get the chance to tour the actual winery it's quite fascinating. They weren't making wine when we were there, but the facility was super clean and we also got to see all the barrels that were kept underground in a colder setting. It was very interesting! We also got to buy wine, which I did. I have no idea if what I bought was good, but I had too many pesos from buying a bottle of water at a convenience store with $20 dollars and got 350 pesos back sooo. The place is definitely out of the way, as we went pretty far out to get here, but they need land to run their operations. A really great experience that had a lot of wonderful scenery! I felt very lucky to be able to visit this place. The bathrooms sucked though. Y.i.k.e.s. And getting from the bathrooms to the winery to where we were eating, so far! I'm sure there was reason for why the bathrooms were so high up and far away, but it did not make it easy for us gals!

Yelp
I'm no Somm, but I am from Northern California- so, inadvertently, I compare any wine and wineries to those from Napa Valley. During a trip to Ensenada B.C. (technically still California!) my friends and I were told about the great wines being produced in Guadalupe Valley. We decided to book a winery tour and tasting at Monte Xanic- an absolutely gorgeous place! It's literally an oasis in that desert heat. The 250 awards they've won for their Chenin Colombard and Cabernet Sauvignon wines speak for themselves. They blend traditional and modern techniques that combine nature and design to create an awesome experience for its visitors. The service was impeccable and the views were breathtaking. It was truly a pleasure.

Jeff R.

Yelp
Came here for a company event and it was a heresy disappointment. There are better places in the area like Deckman's where you will truly have the experience and service you expect.

Yelp
Monte Xanic was the second of two wineries our group visited during the day trip to the Guadalupe Valley. In comparison to the first winery stop (a boutique winery with all wines limited production), this winery was much bigger, more automation, more barrels and a more fancy and contemporary space on par with some of the wineries I've visited in Napa Valley (Sterling, V. Sattui). The winery has the resources needed for more mass production but less charm. There's a beautiful lake in front of the property that not only acts to attract people to the winery, the water is also used to water the plants. On a nice warm day the ideal situation would be to sip wine outside with the view of the lake flanking one side with the winery in another. This is most impressive in the private veranda on the upper floor and makes for a good photo-op. Our tour guide was quite charming and he explained to us Monte Xanic's wines quite well. He went through the vineyard followed by the bottling room, the cellar and finally the "lab". Between each sections we went back to the bar to get more tastings of wine. My only nitpick about him was that I wish he didn't emphasize going back to the bar to top off glasses - winos are usually more sophisticated people that like wine more than just to drink it. I don't have the best memory but I remember that the barrels are specifically the barrels used to make Jack Daniels and they use the barrels purely to taste. My favorite section was the lab. Here people get together in a room trying wines in the cellar to develop what would be the wine profile of a particular grape and vintage. We were served five wines: Sauvignon Blanc, dry Chardonnay, a rose, Cabernet Sauvignon and a Cab-Merlot blend. The last wine was from their premium Gran Ricardo line, named after one of the owners and claiming that this line has made them more well-known internationally. It was a smooth red and I can see why it got such praise. As per custom, the wine I got the No1DP was a no-oak chardonnay. It had a little more buttery taste than some of the other no-oak chardonnays I got him. The Sauvignon Blanc was a hit with our group because it is popular with local SD crowds. Supposedly one can find their wines in a Costco in SD. The cheese plate was addicting as I could munch on one of the cheeses - a soft spongy cheese - all day. Though I liked my visit I've seen wineries at an equivalent price point in USD (mid-range) that have better wine offerings and have more of a charm about them, hence a 3 star rating. However I would still recommend Monte Xanic to people if they want to see a bigger winery or a winery more representative of the Guadalupe Valley.

Yelp
So I had reservations for two at 11am and I left my card info that way I couldn't cancel my reservation. on arrival to the gate they guy said that my name wasn't on the reservation list and that they didn't start wine tasting till 1pm, what a disappointment. Their wines are one of our favorites. Top three for el valle the guadalupe; we but won't be back. Im just glad that is not my number one. Las nubes is my number one in this region and they came through!!!

Yelp
One of the larger wineries, they have it built up with modern architecture. We were asked at the front gate if we had a "reservation." We didn't know about this so we couldn't enter the large black box building that looks like it's made of string. Instead, we joined the vast amounts of Americans on the pond to sample wine. We could order glasses and bottles here. It's very organized, almost reminded me of Disneyland (for adults). We found a seat at a large wedding party-kind of table. Great place with good selection of wine, but there are lots of cute, smaller wineries to explore.

Yelp
This is a winery with great tasting wines and a nice ambience. The quality of service needs to be improved drastically however. We called ahead to see if it would be possible to just buy wine without a tasting reservation, and were told yes. Unfortunately though, the gate guard was extremely rude and not understanding of the situation, even mentioning that we were lying and never actually called (we did). Good wine, just not worth the attitude. Never coming here again, and neither will our friends

Yelp
We were recommend this winery by two of our waiters at different locations. We thought we'd give it a try. The estate sits beautifully on top of a hill overlooking the vineyards and lake they have. There's outdoor and indoor seating. The only downside is you have to make reservation before visiting if you want to do any wine tasting. If you don't have a reservations you can buy wine by the glass or bottle. Luckily their wine was pretty good and you can go wrong with the view.

Yelp
Touristy but beautiful. Gate entry is off-putting but the vineyards and grounds are very well manicured. They were very busy when we were there and they have an awkward prepay tasting set up that we had to wait 10 or more minutes in line for. Saving grace was the girl pouring for us, she was very personable and helpful about the Valle and what it had to offer. I believe her name was Gabrielle. There are better wines in the Valle but no real complaints on their whole set up. Great start to our day.

Yelp
While I had a lovely time, I probably would have appreciated this winery more BEFORE visiting the exceptional boutique winery, Trevista. Monte Xanic makes a large variety of wines and is more for mass production as the one we were at earlier that day was very limited but intimate. Anywho, our tour guide was very knowledgeable and the scenery was gorgeous. I liked how saw many parts of the property. We tried two reds, two whites, and a Rose. My personal favorite was the Sauvignon Blanc. I brought four bottles home since they were only $15 each. The wines were delicious and quality but you could definitely tell it wasn't made with the same love as the $40 bottles at Trevista. I'm not a wine tour connoisseur but I enjoyed myself and learned a lot.

Yelp
WOW! So glad I decided to check this place out on my recent trip to Valle! I made a reservation via email! MAKE SURE YOU MAKE A RESERVATION! If you don't have a reservation you can still go in but they send you to this bottom seating area by the lake, still nice, but not as nice as the main tasting area up the hill from the lake. Upon arriving, they have a security guard who checks you to see if you have a reservation then directs you in. We made a reservation for the wine tasting and tour we sampled 4 delicious red wines for about $14 a person ($28) total. The guy who gave us our tour (i wish i remembered his name) gave us an amazing tour probably the best I've gotten compared to other wineries. They do reservations only by the hour not half hour to allow you to get the full experience. How it works is he pours you a tasting and then shows a part of the winery then you get your next tasting and off to see another part. Our guide even gave us tips on how to properly hold a wine glass and how to taste such as sucking in air whilE the wine is in your mouth. He was also open to answering any questions and we did not feel rushed at all compared to other wIneries. There wine cellar is inside a mountain which is also super cool! They have a super cute seating area with a beautiful view of the lake and vineyards. Honestly fell in love with this place and definitely coming back next time I'm in Valle ! They're bottles of wine are also affordable ranging from like $25-$50 bucks ( from the ones i saw could be more expensive) definitely recommend coming here !!!
