Syrian Restaurant Damas Will Open a Casual Outremont Counter | Eater Montreal

"Planned for the Montreal Forum on Atwater Avenue, a large new Damas is intended to incorporate a grocery section and take-out counter, but with some 20,000 square feet of restaurant space the logistics are complicated and its opening is relatively far off." - Tim Forster

The Montreal Restaurant Openings to Know About in Fall 2019 | Eater Montreal

"In the Forum on Atwater Avenue Fuad Alnirabie of Damas is planning a roughly 20,000-square-foot venue split between a higher-end restaurant and a retail side focused on gourmet goods that will also incorporate a café and casual restaurant in an Eataly-like format; the project aims to open in December if things go smoothly." - Tim Forster

Syrian Restaurant Damas Plans New Downtown Market | Eater Montreal

"According to La Presse, Damas chef-owner Fuad Alnirabie is planning a major new project inside the Montreal Forum on Atwater: a 20,000-square-foot venue with room for nearly 300 that combines a market-like space with a café and take-out counter, gourmet retail, and a large restaurant split into two rooms with a bar (which also has seating). The format is reportedly inspired by New York City’s Eataly, and La Presse highlights lush, exotic décor details such as 16-foot fountains. It’s slated to open in December, will offer dishes different from Damas on Van Horne, and may even include brunch." - Tim Forster

Should take a new pictures. This place is beautiful to chill. Has a nicer decor rn. I heard the gym has a souna or something.., the glass doors are a little sickening.. saw something I did not ask for..(weird, maybe for attention seekers..). There is also; college, cinema and a few nice restaurants. All are in the same building. The elevator with the glass door is just the thing 👌 . I also knoticed there is a bowling bar upstairs and the new arcade. Just genius!🥰🥰🥰

This cinema desperately needs renovations. Everything looks outdated and dirty. The popcorn tasted burnt, the service was slow, and the theatre was noisy with no supervision. You leave feeling like you paid too much for a low-quality experience.

I was very disappointed with my experience. I did not expect the movie to start while the lights were still on, and the air conditioning was not working. Although the AC was turned on after we complained, it was switched off again after about 45 to 50 minutes. This was during the 10:05 PM show on June 28, 2025, in auditorium 13.

Google
Best experience watching a movie in VIP style. Best way to watch a movie with service to order & they bring the food straight to you as you relax in their recliner chairs. So much leg & arm room. I most definitely will be back!

Went to Cineplex , i enjoyed my experience there. If you book you VIP tickets with cineplex, you’ll have access to the lounge and pool table ✨🍿🎬

When I enter this building it’s difficult not to remember the old Montreal Forum. They have done a good job though transforming it into a movie theatre. It’s a fun experience watching a movie here and it’s right downtown where you can enjoy the sites afterwards 😎👍

Like many old classic historical buildings, time buries it. The Forum is unrecognizable for what it once was. Most of it is erased, replaced by some kind of cafe, food, bowling alley, whatever. Nothing like the building where hockey history was made. Mostly high school kids hanging out. They left some artifacts, some photos, some silly statues. But most of the hockey stuff has moved to Bell Centre (downtown). So if a hockey fan, a Habs fan (or Bruins fan!) definitely don't leave town without going there. Only ghosts here.

Just really love Mandy's ❤️ here. Still find the whole space disappointment and lack of much more than coffee shop, and gym when it is historic forum.

Yelp
It was disappointing to return to the Forum during a recent visit to Montreal and be greeted with a serious past-its-prime and (hopefully) in transition vibe. While I understand it has now been over 25 years since the Canadiens left the building, I was also sad to see that the center ice/hockey history tribute had been downsized since the last time I was there in 2017. No sign of the former seats and would-be fan this time around, which were charming touches in the past. Having said that, the cinema soldiers on and also appeared to be in transition to some remodeling. The parking garage ticket machine was difficult to use; thankfully a neighboring customer showed me the right technique to get the card in and paid. Hopefully the owners, the city and whomever else will figure out the best way to keep the Forum vibrant into its next phase.

Yelp
If you are a bowling fan or just want to grab a few cold ones before carrying on with your evening or just call it a night, that is your spot. Great location and reasonably priced menu to cater for everyone budget (almost everyone) but certainly good for big groups or just that team building exercise that you always talked about.

Yelp
I love watching movies at the Forum especially the 5 pm shows on Cheapy Tuesdays. The fact I don't have park and can just get off Atwater metro and walk across to the theater earns solid points. Don't want to spend 20$ on popcorn? no problem- Dollarama in Place Alexis Nihon! or pick up a burger at McDs, Vegan? there is a copper branch down the street! With over 18 halls playing Imax, 3D, and other cosmic movie features including main stream and foreign films (Yes, even Bollywood). Not to mention the Forum also houses a comedy club, arcade/club and bowling alley, SAQ, restuarants and boutiques! The down side of the movie theater is that there is only one food/beverages counter and you don't earn as much Scene points for your purchases. Go with the kids pop special for 8$ (Drink, popcorn, m&ms and collectors cup is a steal). You may not be experiencing a hockey game y like in the olden days (although you can pretend to and pose for a picture in the old styled seats) but this is a fun activity center for the family.

Yelp
Depressing. Best word for this once arena... HABS are long gone. Pkace is empty, vacant. Nice movie theatre, that's about it. Also a good underground parking lot. Does have galaga....

Yelp
Boy has the Forum ever experienced a slow decline over the years. There was a time when this place had a few shops and restaurants to compliment the movie theater. If you wanted to enjoy dinner and a movie you could easily do it here. Slowly but surely everything but the theater, bowling alley and comedy club have boarded up. The theater is fine and the bowling alley is okay. It's fun if you're looking for a night of pool or bowling but it does have a student vibe to it. It's sad to see what has become of this place and it could do with a serious facelift.

Yelp
There were some video arcade games scattered about as well as air hockey and foosball tables. The movie theatre looked amazing but the prices were more expensive than others in the area. I was expecting more video game options or other forms of entertainment such as virtual reality or more hands-on shooter/zombie/dinosaur games. The bowling alley was fun. It was spacious, and the service was polite and pretty good. However, the non-alcoholic drinks on the menu were below average and expensive. They were hard to finish and just did not have the right ratio of juice and flavor to them. A great hangout spot for college students if you are in the area. And it's walking distance to several restaurants and a mall.

Yelp
The Forum needs a serious face lift. Over the last 5-10 years there have been a slew of failed ventures in this place. I really expected the building to come back to life once Dawson College started using it for classes, but it seems that even Gyms and the SAQ can't manage to stay for decent length of time here.

Yelp
Visiting Montreal and decided to hit up this bar after attending a comedy show in the same building. We were not waited on and had to approach the worker for a menu about 30 minutes after arrival. The server brought the menus without introducing himself, or even speaking. Food was not great- mac and cheese was gross. No refills on pop were given to us. Waiter came to table so we could pay. Waiter has yet to speak

Yelp
Went to play bowling on the 4th floor and enjoyed it. The service especially when paying and setting of games/lanes leaves a lot to be desired. The other thing is that they have huge tvs above the lanes which reflect off the lanes and make it hard to play at times. The seating is nice as well. The service for drinks also seems to need some work. They keep pushing food on you when you ask for a drink.

Yelp
Ah, the old forum. It's a hockey legend turned mini-mall. Good place to see a movie & a great place to grab a tart. No serious, there is a little bakery in the Forum that makes excellent tarts.

Greg R.

Yelp
Horrible horrible horrible. Not only do they charge you cover for walking in the sports bar. During ufc events, the waiters will make sure to stand in front of the T.V. during the rounds to take your order instead of waiting for the break. They'll make sure you wait an hour for your food or more. I'm not exaggerating, an actual hour OR MOAR!!!! Don't order water, they will forget about it. And to make sure to piss u off, They'll only appear during the main event, first time in 4 hours, to ask if everything is alright and they'll be sure to block the view to the T.V..
