Silky smooth and gelatinous with a rich, creamy head and explosive umami.
OHHHH YAS!
Master Oh's does Gejang, Korean raw crab right.
While yangnyeom gejang, spicy raw crab is easily found in the South Bay, only a handful of restos in the entire bay offer ganjang gejang, soy-marinated raw crab. And, only two restos (that I can find) serve female crabs with the roe; Master Oh's is one of them.
Master Oh's offers takeout, delivery, and indoor dining. They don't get as much love as GIWA next door so rezzies aren't really needed unless you're coming with a large group.

* Complimentary Banchan
- Fresh cabbage kimchi: Crisp with great savory heat
- Bok choy kimchi: Same as above; really enjoyed this since you rarely see this offered as a banchan.
- Wakame: Least fav, the kelp was kinda slimy
- Fish cake: Overly salty
- Japchae: Fresh and warm with a nice bouncy chew but too salty
- Stir-fried zucchini: Standard
- Kelp noodle salad: Like a crunchy mac salad
* Ganjang Gejang: Soy Marinated Raw Crab w/ roe rice ($45): https://tinyurl.com/tj4t2edu
Put those gloves on and GET DOWN!
Mix the rice (fish roe, seaweed salad, radish, and nori) and squeeze the raw crab meat with roe into the rice bowl and enjoy. Like an explosion of rich, creamy umami, the soft, jelly-like raw crab was bomb with the rice. The soy marinade was flavorful but not a salt bomb like grocery store gegang. And, I love the marinated crispy raw onion and quail egg.
Putting the rice into the crab shell and mixing it with the tomalley was the best part...like creamy, briny uni. Additional bowl of roe rice is $10.
To nitpick, it's kinda pricey for one blue crab and I wish they provided roasted seaweed sheets to make wraps.
* Gamjatang: Pork Bone Soup ($22): https://tinyurl.com/44vnsvtw
A mildly spicy, hearty pork bone soup chockfull of spiny pork back bones and tender potatoes showered with fresh perilla leaves and perilla seed powder. The bones are full of meltingly soft meat with the earthy, nutty perilla cutting through the richness. Delicious and deeply satisfying. It's what they're known for...GET IT!
Includes a bowl of rice to make gukbap, you know "brothy rice". Influencers need to stop colonizing and gentrifying ethnic food like it's their own invention.

Casual and spacious with a modern, sophisticated touch with the white flower pendant lighting. There's one private dining room.
Overall, this resto has rebranded so many times but I think they've finally got it right. The food and service at Master Oh's is on point. Hope they consider adding seongge aka uni to the menu!
