Moonburger in Williamsburg offers a vibrant counter-service experience with satisfying vegan and veggie smashburgers, tasty shakes, and bright decor.
"Your Order: Classic Cheeseburger ($7.59), Hot Fries ($3.48), Brownie Batter Shake ($5.25). If you don’t eat meat, you can go ahead and move Moonburger to the top of this list. Home of our favorite plant-based smashburger, the vegetarian fast-food mini-chain started in the Hudson Valley before opening its first NYC outpost in Williamsburg. The whole place is as red as a pack of Twizzlers, and the Impossible burgers, with their griddled onions and dijon-accented special sauce, are satisfyingly messy. Add american cheese for the full quadruple-napkin experience." - willa moore, neha talreja, will hartman, bryan kim
"Moonburger, an upstate chain, has landed in Williamsburg looking like a UFO and serving some of the sloppiest, most satisfying vegetarian fast food in town. The menu is simple: thin-cut fries, vegan shakes, and Impossible smashburgers that you order from a touchscreen in the blindingly red room with an illuminated moon. Even if the Impossible patties don’t taste like much, you could still probably convince someone that these things are real beef. Such is the power of special sauce, American cheese, and onions two ways." - molly fitzpatrick, bryan kim, neha talreja, willa moore, will hartman
"Moonburger is a polished, brightly packaged product selling pure, vegetarian fast-food thrills. The counter-service chain started in the Hudson Valley, but once you see the neon-lit merch display, you’ll know it was destined for Williamsburg. Step inside the takeout-oriented spot, and you’ll be greeted by emphatic red lighting and a touchscreen menu with just a few options: smashburgers, shakes, and a couple of different fries. Add cheese (vegan or American) to your Impossible patty for the full, sloppy, McDonald’s-like experience, and always be sure to get your fries spicy. On the fence about the brownie batter shake? Just get it. It may be vegetarian, but Moonburger is not a place to keep things light. photo credit: Moonburger" - Bryan Kim
