"If you want to avoid the line for bagels at The Mud Club, Moonrise is another solid place to grab breakfast before you hit Woodstock’s Sunday flea market. They specialize in stuffed bagels, which are hollowed out and baked with things like eggs and bacon inside. Surprisingly, the best things here are the least breakfasty combinations, like the pastrami reuben bagel, or the buffalo chicken option. Moisture from the fatty pastrami or buffalo sauce gets infused into the bread, and you can really appreciate it as a sandwich, rather than a riff on a scooped BEC. They also do regular bagels, in case you're not emotionally ready to mess with the carb anatomy. " - anne cruz

This was my first time ever having a stuffed bagel. I got the Moonrise pastrami reuben stuffed bagel. It was simply delicious! Amazing. Highly recommend!

Google
First stop in Woodstock - STUFFED BAGELS! We ordered ahead and ate outside and everyone was more than happy with their order. 3 Vegan everything, two meat and one plain sesame and silence came over our group of 6 while we enjoyed every last bite. If you like good bagels and want a whole meal in each bite, you must stop! 🥯

Google
We intended to stop here once during our weekend in Woodstock and ended coming by every morning. The stuffed bagels are SO delicious (with a vegan option without any extra charge, amazing!), and the service was great.

3 locations (original is Poughkeepsie) Small and lovely place along a “main street type” street with other shops- unique concept and found out about them via goldbelly website

Google
Moonrise Bagel in Woodstock, NY allows you order your bagel with fillings instead of toppings! This id a plain bagel “stuffed” with corned beef, Swiss cheese, cabbage, and Russian dresssing. It was delicious!!!! Sadly, like most buildings in this town, there are stairs, and no ramp!!!! I used my walked like a railing (because there wasn’t even one of those along the stairs) to get up. Harney & Sons Teas (the factory is not far), Natalie’s juices, or a fresh cup of coffee ☕️ round out the meal. Service was fast, friendly, and delicious! Other than accessibility, my one recommendation would be: can you get more varieties of Natalie’s juices?! I love their Tumeric, ginger, elderberry one!!!

Delicious!!! Our first genuine New York bagels (we're from MD), and these we're amazing!! Highly recommended the breakfast stuffed bagels (we got sausage) & the Pizza stuffed bagel. Great service and friendly staff!!

Very unique concept: bagel stuffed with egg and cheese; it was pretty good. Service was convivial.

I ordered these on Goldbelly to satisfy my craving for a BEC while I'm on the west coast, and they're a great substitute! My package of six arrived quickly and were frozen, so I store them in the freezer and pull out one whenever I need my bacon, egg, and cheese fix. They take 40 minutes in the toaster oven, and they come out crispy, melty, and delicious. They're also big, so I cut them in half and enjoy them over two days. I'm not the hugest bagel fan, but these are really yummy - and while not a traditional BEC, they're very satisfying when I'm missing NYC. Recommended!

Yelp
Wow wow wee wow *borat voice* These bagels were incredible! We happen to be in Woodstock doing shopping and walking around. Passed this place and had never heard of it. They were sold out but still had frozen bagels. We bought a pack of 3, took them home and reheated them this morning. All I can say is WOW! So delicious. The concept of the stuffed bagel is amazing, but the bagel itself was top notch. The ladies in the store on Friday 11/30 were amazing and so fun to talk with!

Yelp
A few months ago, I went to Moonrise very excited about this store because it advertised New York City style bagels. As a City inhabitant who loves THE H&H Bagels, I was thrilled. So I ordered one of their stuffed bagels and brought it home hoping to be in bagel heaven. Not. It was tasteless and bordered on stale even though what was purchased was newly created. So disappointed. Today my wife was craving bagels and wanted to order and have hers delivered. I passed. The bill for 1/2 dozen was $10.00 and change. The bill via Door Dash delivery came to $19.00 USD. Who nu?!!! That Included a $3.00 tip on a 10.00 bagel charge!!! We were unaware of this Door Dash fiasco since payment went thru PayPal. My wife contacted Moonrise and after some tense back and forth got the bloody order canceled. We're done. Still miss H&H. Moonrise not even a close approximation.

Yelp
Moonrise .......... Moonrise Bagels What a fabulous name for any place much less a place that has created stuffed Bagels. Not kidding here! Nope. Stuphed Bagels. Whoa! Holy crap I think this is prob one of my most ambitious projects that I've tried......... in a while! Smile please or you can't read any farther. nope! Good. Thanks! Smiles still look so freakin good on you... just wow you! First, belated Happy Turkey day lol... I hope yours was lovely & you & ur fam shared loads of smiles & love with a side of laughter together! Secondly, u know when something piques ur interest & ya try to ignore it? Yea. Me too lol. It's called Life! Yup Moonrise is in Woodstock Ny, apparently, which I hadn't realized. I don't live in or close to Woodstock Township, soo it's a slog for a Dasher. Dashers are my hero's recently as they're 99% excellent & reliable & just absolutely lovely! Yup. Nothing's perfect. Period. Look around you if ya don't believe me lol. Nuff said. We good? ok. Now, the most interesting-Stuffed Bagels. Really? Way freakin cool. Here we go. Yumm & yay! Lfg lol.... I ordered 2. Each gets its own dip sauce & Moonrise offers a choice of 2 Moondips. Ranch & Moondip vegan. I was given the option of Plain or Everything Bagel on my Bacon, Eggs & Cheese, which I Deluxed. Not sure that's what Moonrise called it but it includes a drink, a cookie or chips & a stuffed Bagel. Yup. For under $14 dollah I think. The Moondip vegan friendly sauce holy moly lol... I'm glad I dipped all alone! Skinny, what now? How bout freakin yumm ohhh boy! The Stuffed Bagels are really good. Honestly, I could barely get a half of the Bacon Egg & Cheese in an Everything Bagel in me. I must thank my Dasher Ronald. Ronald Dder from Moonrise Bagels drove from California to bring my Bagels to me. Yup. Well maybe lol. Nahh but he mighta.... it's the day after Thanksgiving soooo yea. Exactly! he was genius Amazing! Thank you sir & thank you Mmonrise Bagels. Oh yea lol, if you wanna know how this turns out, might I suggest that you order from Moonrise Bagels yourself. Enjoy the yumm & be kind please. Hold your beloved's near y'all, we're in for some stormy weather! Yup. Happy holidays & please please drive safe & stay warm & safe out there. Thank you Moonrise & as the Terminator would say... lol, say it with me please... ready? Good. "I'll Be Back!" Booyah

Yelp
Moonrise Bagels in Woodstock offers a unique take with their stuffed bagels, so I had to give it a try. I stopped by close to their closing time, so everything bagels were the only option left. I ordered the pastrami Reuben with special sauce, and the kind staff had it hot and ready in no time. The seasoning on the bagel was flavorful but a bit messy, so keep that in mind. The pastrami was tender and shredded easily, though I was hoping for a bit more filling. While I'd personally prefer a classic stacked-high breakfast sandwich, this is definitely an interesting concept and worth trying if you're curious. They also have a small bench inside if you want to sit and eat.

Yelp
Had very high hopes for this place given all the hype about it but unfortunately it was very mid. I love the fact they offer vegan options which is a huge plus. However my vegan stuffed bagel was nary a degree above room temp and there was literally only one person in the store besides us. I understand if it's super busy maybe rushing but I expected warm filling and a toasty bagel exterior especially on a chilly fall morning. My husband got the stuffed bacon egg and cheese and his seemed warmer than mine as I saw some steam but he too said it wasn't hot. It gave the feeling of an "old" bagel even though I'm sure it was fresh. The coffee and tea selection is incredibly limited (think grocery store tea bags with scalding hot water which reminded me of a roadside motel) and only simple iced or hot coffees. For me, a truly good breakfast experience should include quality morning beverages as well. We ended up tossing our beverages and going immediately to Caffe to get some quality tea and coffee. While I love to support places that include vegan options we'd skip this spot next time we're in town.

Yelp
What a wonderfully weird concept: stuffed bagels. I thoroughly enjoyed my everything stuffed with bacon egg and cheese! Small place with a good selection of options for stuffed or regular bagels it seems. I only wish they had more regular water options, but that's also on me for not having my reusable around at the time. Service is quick and friendly, the space has a few spots inside to eat but mostly it's a takeout spot. In nice weather you can sit out front :)

Yelp
This behemoth of a meal is here- at Moonrise Bagel on Tinker St. While they do carry regular bagels, you know....the ones with the hole? This name is deceiving because their biggest ticket (I think) is perhaps their STUFFED bagel- and NOT a regular bagel. Now I may not be a baker or bread marker and may not know the required measurements, ingredients or rise- and you can agree with me or not- but Moonrise "Bagels" are more like a calzone- if anything. Quite honestly, I wasn't sure if this was hubs' bag of chips but I got a BEC for him so he can try. I, on their hand noticed one of their 'bagel' items with egg and American Cheese. Since I'm not an Amer. Cheese person, I requested one without the cheese. "No". Why? "Because they're pre-made". Nor, could I have gotten an egg on a bagel because they don't make it on the spot. Thank you- I'll just get the BEC. Price? Hiked. But I almost get it- these folks probably make their own dough, have a good thing going and that's fantastic. I seriously think their calorie-laden dish was originally invented for people who couldn't decide on a typical breakfast item and decided on this grotesque of a sandwich and have everything in one bite without the spillage. Thank you to the pleasant woman tending the orders and payment up front. Hubs tried and conquered.

Joanna K.

Yelp
Incredible bagels, friendly atmosphere with speedy service. There's always a line when I go and the food is always impeccable!

Rob A.

Yelp
One of the best things I have ever put in my mouth. Sausage, egg and cheese on an Everything is a hearty and filling breakfast, and worth every bite. Staff are super friendly and the little tables outside made the end of our Woodstock visit perfect.

Jessica C.

Yelp
Stuffed bagels are such a cool concept, and the bagels themselves were very good! They offer fresh ones and frozen ones to go.

Mandi S.

Yelp
Yummy bagels in the Catskills! Moonrise is known for their stuffed bagels but I can't speak to that as I decided to keep it simple with a classic sesame toasted and an OJ. This place keeps it classic - you don't need 47 bagel varieties and Moonrise has the classics on lock. Poppy, everything, plain, sesame. The woman who took our order was super kind and friendly. She explained the stuffed bagels as well. There is a small seating area inside but we opted to take our order at the little table outdoors. Bagel was warm, fresh, and delish.

Erin C.

Yelp
Stopped here to grab breakfast before a day-long hike. Not only did I get a delicious bagel, but a friendly fawn joined me! Any place popular with the locals is always great, even if it sometimes is wildlife :D The bagel was absolutely delicious though. I'm only sad I'm not from the area and couldn't try everything - I noticed there were frozen take-home bagels, but I didn't have a cooler. Next time!

Amy M.

Yelp
Highly recommend coming here for stuffed bagels! Great selection of bagels and very good service. Good amount of filling packed into a soft baked bagel. We came here both days that we were in town. They also had frozen packs of stuffed bagels for purchase to reheat at home, which we definitely bought to take back with us!

Reed D.

Yelp
Had very high hopes for this place opening right across from Marist college, stuffed bagel options are premade and portions are too small for the money. In credibly disappointed. Cheaper and better tasting options in the area. Customer service was great though and the workers were very nice.

Moonduo C.

Yelp
The stuffed bagels are all the rage but I'm here for the unstuffed everything bagels. We are local and tried them for the first time on a Saturday. Went back when they opened Sunday morning. I loved the stuffed egg and cheese bagel but the bagels themselves are delicious. Everything bagels don't lose their outer ingredients. The staff are very friendly, engaging, and kind. We went late on a Saturday , around 12 and many of the stuffed bagels were sold out so go early if you are not going to order on line. We ordered online on Sunday first thing so we could try the stuffed version. Inside is unassuming and has 3-4 benches for the window seat. But it's WoodStock in the summer. Get a bagel and go sit outside. We tolerate the NY winters just so we can be outside in the beautiful summer.

Lucas O.

Yelp
Mmmmmmm. Should change their name to unreal bagels. So delicious and incredible. Mmmmnnn

Eunice C.

Yelp
Came to the town of Woodstock to check out some curious eats, one of which was Moonrise Bagels. Definitely intrigued by the name and concept of stuffing inside the bagel. We got the Reuben but a bacon egg and tempeh version was also available. We got the whole bagel sliced in half, so you can see the interior. One side is more stuff while the other side has more bagel. I'm unsure whether they take out the bread part of the bagel and insert the stuffing or they bake with it altogether... If you're here for coffee, you have two kinds: drip and cold brew. The staff was super nice and helpful so definitely worth a visit just to try!

Brian R.

Yelp
I really love this place a lot. It's such a unique and delicious idea. People that work there are super nice. Definitely one of my new favorite places.

Melissa T.

Yelp
Very friendly staff + service. The egg and cheese bagel was 4/5. The vegan tempeh bagel was not edible.

Megan C.

Yelp
I cannot stop raving about this place! We went here after New Year's Day 2023 in the Catskills and it couldn't have been a better way to start of the year. I am from NJ and these bagels make the mark. Plus there is the unique concept of "stuffed" bagels vs a stacked sandwich concept. Highly recommend if in the area!

Lindsey W.

Yelp
Great bagels! And the coffee ain't too shabby, either. Shears come here when I'm in the mood for a fresh bagel.

Vanessa C.

Yelp
Great little bagel shop in Woodstock. Fresh made sweet or savory, either option is delicious. Must try!

Jane D.

Yelp
I've never been one to have bagel sandwiches. However, I had the experience, through a visiting friend, of trying a breakfast sandwich (stuffed bagel as they call it) and a Reuben. They see to scoop out the bagel so the filling fits in! This solved my issue with bagel sandwiches which I find too bulky. I'm Manageable. But not just manageable, a fantastic bagel!! Their fillings vary. They make 4 kinds of bagels. Hoping they add pumpernickel one day. Just excellent!

J M.

Yelp
TLDR: You pay for cheese in the bagel, you expect it when you take a bite, but you get no cheese. What do you get? Dry eggs, too much salt, and a mess of seeds everywhere. I don't get the hype - esp from the folks who are from NYC. We got 2 bagels (1) everything BEC, and (2) everything EC. There was zero cheese, it had an extreme amount of seeds, was *super* salty, and the eggs were dry and crumbly (would have been partially resolved if they actually put cheese in the bagels) The other bummer is that you can't see the biggest issues with it until you're at home and eating it. After having many awesome BEC on an everything bagel, I figured this would be another great one. Was rooting for this place for all the reasons others mentioned - too bad. Two stars because the woman in the store was really nice.

David R.

Yelp
super yummy stuffed begles. excellent coffee. melanie was lovely. great saturday morning vibe. opening new place in pokipsee soon. be sure to check it out.

Simone S.

Yelp
I cannot get enough of this place! I live in NYC but frequent upstate, and each time I have to make a pit stop to Moonrise Bagels. If you've never been, run! And try every flavor- I can't pick a favorite. The owners are also super kind and welcoming locals. Thank you Moonrise for changing the bagels game!

Eliza E.

Yelp
The best weekend activity: drive to woodstock and grab a stuffed bagel. They are fun, tasty, and a great experience. The last time we went, we got 4 different fillings/bagels because we had to try them all!

Daniel W.

Yelp
I'm not going to lie... we 100% tried this place out of curiosity regarding the sign outside of their store regarding "stuffed bagels"... whatever could this be? I consider myself something of a bagel connoisseur having both grown up in the legendary bagel alley (Ess-a-Bagel, David's (underrated), Bagel Boss, Tompkins etc all being within a few minutes walking, AND being Jewish...) so that being said... brilliant idea and well executed. I had the bacon, egg and cheese (I said I was Jewish, not kosher haha) and my GF had the egg and cheese. Both were fantastic. I fully expect this place to become the next big thing nation wide. The staff was also very, very nice.

Marc S.

Yelp
My son's band Moonunitt was recording at Dreamland studios and we needed bagels so, a place called Moonrise seemed like a natural fit. Not to mention I was intrigued by the stuffed bagel. Moonrise proved whet I always felt. Brooklyn bagels aren't great because of the water. It's the method. I tried the stuffed Reuben bagel. What a treat. Brought a dozen assorted bagels back for the band and crew. They were gone before they hit the plate. We'll be back and until then wishing them much success. Pay them a visit when you can

Eric G.

Yelp
I noted the piece on the Today Show some time ago and since I love a really good bagel, I ordered a half dozen--three of the Philly Cheese Steak and three of the Pastrami Reuben. While the bagels themselves were fantastic the fillings left much to be desired. The cheese steak bagels were terribly salty while the Reuben variety contained tiny pieces of beef in only half the bagel. Stuffed bagels may be a good concept but unfortunately Moonrise Bagels fell short!!!

Xxxx X.

Yelp
Very good stuff! Would recommend. Nice staff and awesome bagels. I would Recommend the stuffed bacon egg and cheese in a everything bagel.

Amanda N.

Yelp
Such a great concept and delicious bagels! Go early because they do run out!!

Teri R.

Yelp
I never write reviews but felt compelled to write this one because I am so impressed with this food!! I consider myself a connoisseur of great bagels, having grown up in NY & Miami. But honestly, these might be the best bagels I've ever had. They are airy and flavorful and the concept of toppings Inside the bagel is really unique (and delicious). I'm addicted!

Joel N.

Yelp
The bagel were great, not too greasy. It had a mom and pop shop feel to it. Will go there

James J P.

Yelp
Hands down best bagel I've had. We were visiting family in Saugerties and were looking for a decent bagel, read reviews for Moonrise and decided to stop in. We were so happy with that choice, we went again. I got the bacon, egg, and cheese stuffed everything bagel and it was insanely good. Nice and soft on the inside, with a nice crunch on the outside. My wife and kid got a plain bagel with cream cheese and an everything bagel with cream cheese. They have several other stuffed bagel options I wish I had time to try, but you know from the other customers that those too are delicious. This is the kind of place Guy Fieri would rave about on his shows.

Barbara F.

Yelp
Saw their story on the Today show and just happened to be down that way for the weekend and we had to stop. Bagels filled with eggs and bacon were awesome! Well worth the stop!

Elting A.

Yelp
fantastic delicious scrumptious mouth watering mouthful hit the spot!!! yea thats the ticket!!!

Erin B.

Yelp
Literally went from a Tik Tok from Bethenny Frankel to purchasing all the way from Dallas, TX. We purchased 12 bagels - Rueben, Buffalo chicken, and bacon egg and cheese and have not been disappointed in a single one! EVEN ALL THE WAY FROM TEXAS! I could move and work my way into the RHONY cast just for these stuffed bagels. Amazing. Outstanding. Perfection. I would love to try in person, but these one my couch with some bravo on my TV, it's like a dream come true.

Jenny L.

Yelp
This shop just opened and it's seriously the best new thing in town!! The bagels are so good to eat any time of day and the owners are amazing. Don't leave Woodstock before trying these bagels!

Sarah M.

Yelp
The bacon egg and cheese was a little overwhelming and kind of lukewarm, a lot of other things looked delicious though! Maybe I just picked the wrong thing to order haha

Nick B.

Yelp
unique idea and executed to perfection. Their regular unstuffed bagels are top quality in the area as well! If they have the pastrami, egg and cheese available make sure you get 3!!

Patricia M.

Yelp
I ordered the pizza, reuben, egg, and buffalo chicken bagels through Goldbelly. Initially I tried the chicken and it was good, not great, but good, the outside bagel is the best part. Secondly tried the egg with bacon and this was by far the best of the four....BUT the reuben bagel was so awful I don't know where to begin? The meat was hard and fatty and I am not even sure if that was corned beef as it had no flavor, NONE. Last night I the pizza bagel and it was shockingly AWFUL. The filling being essentially tomato sauce with diced tomatoes..... the worst was what was considered to be the cheese. I am still not sure what it was, PLASTIC? It didn't melt and had a plastic like flavor...I through out everything left. I would NOT waste my money here again. Maybe because they were frozen and shipped I don't know if I could I'd like to get my money back, would never purchase again.

Marisa P.

Yelp
Really unique bagels that are filling before a long Catskills hike. They also have normal and equally tasty bagels like poppyseed. Please skip that weird woodfired bagel place down the street and head here for better vibes and better food.

p m.

Yelp
We've been missing the bec breakfast sandwich from Provisions since they've moved. So, we are very happy to have found the fantastic stuffed bagel bacon egg and cheese at Moonrise! It's REALLY stuffed, in a delicious everything bagel with seeds on both sides. They are putting the love inside and it shows. I'm sure the same care is taken with other stuffing combinations.

Laura J.

Yelp
Had some yummy bagels at Moonrise. Not exactly the bagel I grew up with in NYC, but probably the closest I've had up here thus far. We also had the stuffed bagel with egg and cheese and wow was that delicious and filling. We will return for sure!

Katie G.

Yelp
This place is amazing! One of the best bagels I've ever had. I got the stuffed bacon egg and cheese and bought regular bagels to bring home. A must try if in Woodstock.

Susie S.

Yelp
Stuffed bagels that will blow your mind. I can never decide on one flavor so I get two, eat half of each, and then find myself eating the other two halves not much later. I swear with the locally sourced meats and other ingredients it doesn't leave you feeling too "stuffed." Don't hold back --perfect for breakfast, lunch, or to save for dinner later. Plus the owners are local which is huge when town is changing so rapidly you can barely recognize it anymore. So much love for Moonrise bagels!!!
