The 7 Best Chicken Caesar Wraps In Chicago

"A good CCW starts with a good chicken caesar salad. But the wrap is what can make it great. For example, the spinach tortilla used at Moonwalker Cafe in Avondale. It’s soft—not tough despite being cold—and has a faint, earthy flavor that pairs well with the lightly spiced roasted chicken and well-dressed lettuce. But it might be too much of a good thing, because the tortilla is significantly larger than the amount of filling. Be prepared to eat some plain spinach dough." - veda kilaru

Google
Fantastic coffee cafe with solid drip coffee, specialty drinks and a good selection of breakfast and lunch items. The breakfast sandwiches we got were top notch, easily one of the best we've had on the city. Eggs were cooked to perfection and the hash brown on the other was nice and crispy. Absolutely a must go.

Truly one of my favorite spots in the city!!! I’ve told so many people to go for the banana bread latte because it is ✨incredible✨ and both the breakfast sandwich and breakfast burrito are 10/10. The workers are also so kind. 😊 Such a solid neighborhood cafe. HIGHLY recommend!

Google
one of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve had. The moonwalked sandwich was amazing and the B.E.C bagel was also really good. The coffee and the pastries were amazing. I got the hazelnut mocha and my wife got the honey vanilla. Hearing DMX in the background was also super cool.

Though I love the vibe/aesthetic of the cafe and the cashiers are great, the Matcha just leaves a lot to be desired. I would recommend their food though-they're usually packed through the weekend mornings for their food. Edit: What I meant by the matcha is that perhaps they could have used a bit more to get a stronger flavor (I didn't ask for sweetness because I do so at home, as I do with every other matcha place I go to) and no I couldn't tell them in person because my sister got it for me

Google
I was craving a bagel sandwich and found this place. Honestly top tier. I got the BEC and it was everything I needed. They have a high chair (yay) and brought it out for my baby then brought it back in for us when we were done 🥹 we will definitely come back again.

I came here for the Chicken Caesar Salad Wrap because Chicago was abuzz about it. It was a good wrap. It did not have croutons, and if it normally does there is a quality control issue. The chicken was good, there wasn’t enough Parmesan cheese for my liking but my partner didn’t mind the level of parm. I wanted more dressing too. It was a more traditional romaine lettuce. It was good though, just not my preferred type. I also got the cali Bfast burrito with Soyrizo. It comes with a habanero (probably) sauce. It was good, it had hash browns griddle type so it was crunchy which added a great texture to the burrito. It was more of a burrito than most places which are typically just breakfast wraps. The soyrizo was good. Not much seating, but it’s a cozy place. There were kids in there, and they have doughnuts and juice.

Came back home to Chicago for a visit and my friend took me to this place. after the first visit I was hooked! Their matcha is amazing, their breakfast sandwiches are to die for (ask for a hash brown on the sandwich it’ll change your life) When I say I came here every morning for the duration of my visit home I absolutely did, and if I didn’t live on the east coast now I’d still be going there almost everyday. The shop is adorable, and the staff is an amazing team. You can really tell they put their all into making sure guests have a top notch experience every time. You truly can feel the love and care that was put into this business.

Google
I believe Jack was at the Cashier this day. He was accommodating and attentive. An overall super sweet guy! This cafe is a respite from the busy city, has great food and coffee. My partner and I came here from out of state and this was a great place to introduce ourselves to Chicago.

Yelp
Keep coming back! This mornin it was the sausage, egg, cheese empanada and purple haze smoothie. Hit the spot. Quality of food, the menu, the invitation to sit and talk. Its Chicago winter right now so coziness, community and food are key. I work in a tough job serving others such that being able to treat myself is paramount. The treat is even more enjoyable when I know my money is staying in Chicago and going to locally owned and inclusive business like Moonwalker. Cafe.

Yelp
I wanted to like this place but i cant get over how horrible the coffee was. We ordered a latte and espresso and both were worse than youd get from a gas station. We were shocked bc they were using Dark Matter beans and a nice machine. The person making the coffees does not know how to make coffee. It was so bad I couldn't even try to salvage it at home. Please please do your cafe a favor and have someone trained to make better coffees.

Yelp
It's not the ritz, but this small 10-chair cafe is doing something right. I got a monstrous lox bagel with some seriously tasty coffee. Standing about six inches tall, layered with lox, a garden of arugula, and a deluge of cream cheese, this sandwich was not for the faint of heart. Eclectically decorated and amply staffed with well-meaning folks, I'd say head here if you want a quiet bite to yourself.

Yelp
LOVE their English muffin sandwich LOVE their Samoa cookie latte. The food / drinks are consistently good. I have been coming here almost everyday now and they are so sweet.
google avatar

Teresa H.

Yelp
If you have been searching for Chicago's best breakfast sandwich I have great news for you- the search ends here. The english muffin sandwich weighs about a pound, is the perfect mix of hearty and decadent with a beautiful chimichurri to brighten it up and is priced super reasonably at $11.50- my husband and I literally split one it's so massive. The coffee is great too- don't worry that the food steals the show. Aesthetically the cafe is cute with a handful of seats inside and some outdoor seating as well, and the team working seem to know everyone coming in and have a great repertoire. I'll probably be a regular here too soon enough! Incredible. 10/10. I can't rave about this enough.
google avatar

Yelp
If I could give them 10 stars, I would! Moonwalker is an adorable neighborhood café I often visit. I love that they use top of the line ingredients, have uniquely flavored lattes you don't see anywhere else, have vegan and gluten free options, they change their menu seasonally and even do frequent pop ups. I'm a regular patron so there are many things I can vouch for as EXCELLENT. For the sake of not making this review 10 pages long, I will focus on my two current faves. 1) The grilled chicken sandwich is exceptional, and my picture says it all! Every single bite is perfection. Each ingredient shines through, especially the in-house garlic aioli. 2) The roasted turkey sandwich is spectacular! Smoked in house and seasoned to perfection, super moist and outstanding each and every time! I don't even have a picture of it, because it always gets inhaled immediately.

Yelp
Delicious food and drinks!!! Service was attentive and so very kind!! Ambiance is casual and laid back. More to pick up and head out. We look forward to going back!! Highly recommended.

Yelp
Food was good! We both got a different bagel sandwich, the BEC (bacon, egg, cheese with spicy aioli) then Brad. They had a few seats outside so we brought our dog. There's some seating inside as well at the counter and few tables. It is pretty pricey so for that reason don't know if I'd come back - we got the two bagel sandwiches and one small iced coffee (not a speciality drink) and it was $37 (without tip). I was expecting it to be $30-32 max, but there's an added fee that they don't tell you about. A little too expensive for me for what it was.
google avatar

Jacob J.

Yelp
This is the sexiest runny egg breakfast sammich in town. If you get it, you won't believe they were able to get it that runny. Dip your brioche in yolk and it's properly seasoned. Do spicy aioli with overeasy eggs and pick two proteins. Only do this if you can handle it. It slaps and you will ko for a bit. Lots of yum here folks.

Yelp
This is a pleasant little cafe I'd never been to before. From the menu, it looked like they had breakfast options, but I was strictly there for coffee. Once I stepped up to the counter, I saw that they had donuts as well. I was kinda surprised that I paid $14 for a 12-oz drip and 2 plain donuts. It wasn't until I looked at the receipt that I saw they were Do-Rite donuts. I don't live anywhere near this shop so I can't say if I'll visit again but it's nice to know they have Do-Rite donuts available so I don't have to go downtown for those.

Yelp
The Dom Aya Ciabatta Roll, Pesto made with Walnuts, Pine Nuts, Sunflower Oil. Garlic Aioli, Roasted Tomatoes, Burrata, Olive Oil, Balsamic Glaze, Arugula dressed in Lemon Vinaigrette. This was perhaps my favorite sandwich of the summer. The roasted tomatoes were a burst of robust flavor with each bite. The homemade pesto, don't even get me started, drool worthy. Everything from the fresh soft and crunchy bread, to the quality of burrata and the nice rich balsamic glaze, from top to bottom this sandwich rocked my world. Waiting for it to come back on the menu!
google avatar

Fabienne E.

Yelp
Low key and tasty. It's a small space so better situated for grab and go but you can tell they take pride in the menu. Classic breakfast sandwich was very good (and great hangover helper). You order at the counter and they bring your order wrapped up to you. It's not the cheapest but the days of the less than $10 bfast sammy (that isn't dripping in grease) might be behind us. I hope they stick around because they certainly scratch an itch.

Yelp
We came here for a quick bite to eat and for some coffee. We decided to dine in. The owners and the staff here were great. They were very welcoming and made sure we were satisfied. They thanked us for stopping in and had smiles throughout our meal. They have a pretty big menu with plenty of coffee and breakfast & lunch offerings. My wife ordered their Dark Matter drip coffee and I ordered their iced coffee and their "The Brunch" breakfast sandwich. It came with lox in a toasted everything bagel with cream cheese, tomatoes, capers, cucumber salad and lemon vinegar. The sandwich was pretty big with everything ingredient working perfectly together. It came with plenty of lox and it tasted fresh. I would definitely order this again, but I would also like to try a few of their other offerings. I will definitely be returning.

Yelp
New favorite breakfast sandwich in Chicago! Although it is on the pricier side, I will definitely be back. The sandwich combos are so carefully curated and so delicious. They even bring their bagels from New York! They are known for their moonwalker sandwich and it did not disappoint - so delicious, especially with the ham instead of sausage. The specialty coffees were also great. The banana bread latte was my personal favorite, it had a very natural and accurate flavor. Service was phenomenal- very friendly & gave great suggestions. You will have to wait sometime for your food, but worth it, trust me. We got our coffee pretty quickly. Very cute shop to eat at or take out. Less than 15 seats total in the cafe and a few two-person tables outside; I would not recommend it for larger parties.

Yelp
The beauty of the economic barter system is one may ask whatever price they wish, while others decide the worth of parting with their cherished rupees. For me, $25 for a bagel sandwich (cream cheese, tomato, bacon) and a latte is unreasonable and downright greedy. On the other hand, there appear to be enough wealthy unemployed hipsters in Avondale who disagree. The 'BRAD' bagel sandwich was soggy and messy and most of the cream cheese made a poopoo through the bottom hole of the bagel. Not to mention my lack of fondness for the name Brad, the moniker of my childhood nemesis. Ultimately, it's a cute little spot but everything (including the absurd prices) is over-excess and way too messy. I commend the business on their colossal margins, but next time I'll pop through the Wendy's drive-thru across the street for a tasty $6 breakfast combo with yummy potato wedges and deposit the remaining $20 into my high yield savings account.

Yelp
What a delightful cafe with a delicious breakfast sandwich and gluten free options! The staff including the owner were an absolute joy to chat with. Definitely going to stop by again while I'm staying in the area.
google avatar

Natalia M.

Yelp
I stopped here for the first time, because I was craving a breakfast sandwich, and the Moonwalker was truly out of this world. This is a gourmet sandwich, with the perfect over medium egg that is soaked up by the brioche bun. I had mine with garlic aioli, and it was just perfect. I used to live in NY where breakfast sandwiches reigned on every corner, and this was better than anything I'd had there. I had already had coffee that morning, but their seasonal lattes sounded delicious. Especially the banana bread latte. I'll have to come back to try one!
google avatar

Kari C.

Yelp
It's a cute cafe the coffee and food is good but the few times we've been in it hasn't been very busy but it's been very slow. Would give it another try and if you don't mind the wait you should check it out!

M J.

Yelp
I had a breakfast muffin with folded egg, cheese, light seasoning and ir was delicious! I also ordered a latte and it was very well done. This was my first visit to this quaint local coffee shop and I plan to return. It has comfortable seating and a cozy inviting feel inside. The staff were friendly. 5 stars for sure!

Yelp
Visited for the first time yesterday. Couldn't stop thinking about how good everything was, so I came back again today. 8/9/23: Had the Banana Bread Latte, B.E.C., and The Brad. Latte was delicious and sandwiches were solid. The egg on the bacon-egg-cheese was a perfect soft scramble. The jalapeño cream cheese on The Brad had fresh jalapeño in it, which was spicy, crunchy, and refreshing. 8/10/23: Had the banana bread latte again, the Basic B (with jalapeño cream cheese), and Dad's Meatloaf sandwich. I love this latte so much. The meatloaf was was savory and delicious, complemented super well by the red onion and garlic aioli. The chips that accompanied the sandwich were thick, crispy, and perfect. Luna and Jack are so friendly and have created a really special community space. I look forward to returning often.

Yelp
I live around the corner from Moonwalker and I am so lucky for it. The food is outstanding and they have an extensive menu. The coffee is delicious, I usually just go for an iced coffee with some cream but I tried their banana bread latte the other day and it was delightful. The owners are incredibly nice and the cafe has a warm and welcoming vibe. Can't recommend enough!

Yelp
Stopped in for a bite as we were driving through the area and the spot we wanted was already closed for the day. This place had some good reviews so we thought we'd give it a try. It's small inside with limited seating but it wasn't a problem since it was later in the afternoon. We placed our order and sat down. Our food was made to order and it came out pretty quick. I ordered the Moonwalker with my egg over easy runny. When I opened my wrapper, the egg yolk had already leaked all over the wrapper and my sandwich was covered with the runny yolk. Luckily I had the napkin dispenser right in front of me. It was quite messy to eat. My sandwich was good but I've had better. The ham and cheese croissant we ordered looked good and my kids enjoyed it. My husband also agreed his sandwich wasn't worth $15. Now comes the reason for 2 stars. We bought 3 sandwiches and our bill came out to $44. At $11.50 a sandwich the bill should have been under $40. Since I wasn't given a receipt, I had to ask at the counter why the bill was so high. The gentleman behind the counter told me there was a service fee and taxes. $9 worth? I mentioned it would be good to have it displayed somewhere and he pointed to a small sign that basically said there would be a service fee, no exact amount though. So I mentioned it would be good to have the amount written on there so people know in advance but he said it varies from order to order. So that means a percentage of the bill? Well if I do the math, that was a 15% service fee. Wow. No wonder why they don't want to display it. We cleaned up after ourselves and left. The funny thing is they also have a tip jar at the counter. I was going to leave something in the jar but after learning of the hefty service fee, I had to change my mind. They are cashless so there's no option to even pay with cash to avoid the service fee. If you are asking customers to pay this service fee, might I suggest a box for the sandwich? That way the egg yolk may not get smashed in the wrapper and become a runny mess. In this day and age I understand things have gotten more expensive, but now we are paying for higher prices and additional service fees on top of tipping at some places. Judging from some of the reviews I read after we left, I was not the only customer caught off guard with a high bill. Unfortunately I can't imagine this business growing as most people won't be able to afford a meal here. The other sandwiches they offered were $15 and higher, making them more like $19+ sandwiches before even adding a drink. But best of luck to them. We won't be back.

Yelp
A sweet homey cafe with folks who obviously know how to cook. I ordered the Moonwalker breakfast sandwich and my husband was happy to have a soy chorizo wrap. They asked me how I wanted my egg (over easy) and it came out exactly correct. He enjoyed his as well. The food is served at the cafe wrapped in its paper. We had those meal items and a a small iced matcha latte and the total was $35 (I included this because there are no correct menu prices online now) Happy to see an independent business do well.
google avatar

Douglas L.

Yelp
Super delicious food and reasonably priced. Very friendly and attentive staff and owner was also kind and informative about using locally made items on menu
google avatar

Robert K.

Yelp
My wife and just tried this cozy little neighborhood spot today. The breakfast sandwiches are simple, but delicious. I had the "Moonwalker" sandwich. Don't know where they get their bacon but it's amazing! They also serve Do-Rite donuts there. And the staff are very nice, helpful, and friendly. For any celiac/gluten-free folks who may be reading this, my wife says their gluten-free bread is terrific. She says the brand they use is much better than the typical brands used by most restaurants. Highly recommended for a quick bite for breakfast or lunch. Keep in mind that indoor seating is limited; it appears that their business might be mostly take-out. But they do have a few outdoor tables available now that we're having some nice spring weather.
google avatar

Asma M.

Yelp
I was excited to have a local coffee shop in my neighborhood but unfortunately the prices are just too much for what you get. We've gotten plain coffees at $5+ a piece and recently we got one egg and cheese croissant and with tax and tip and it was 15$ (no coffee!) AND it was burnt. The service is good and store is cute but we probably won't be back due to the prices.
google avatar

Steve W.

Yelp
Both breakfast sandwiches, the Brad and Sausage Egg & Cheese were incredible. Also love the fact that their coffee is from Dark Matter. Just an impressive selection of breakfast items all around.
google avatar

Ariana F.

Yelp
What a delightful spot! I went here a couple of times during my visit to Chicago. The two dudes running the show at this spot are polite, funny, and easy to speak with. The space has room to relax and enjoy your meal! I got a banana bread latte and it changed my outlook on the world around me. It was absolutely amazing! I also got a breakfast sandwich, but the name escapes me - just know that it also rocked my world. I miss this spot dearly, but I'll sure return when I'm back in town!
google avatar

Mallory S.

Yelp
Damn $50 for 2 lattes and 2 sandwiches. Honestly insane. I'm all for supporting local but i prob won't be back I would rather just go to a sit down place cuz of the super high prices

Yelp
I swung by this little cafe on a Sunday morning and I am so glad that I did. I had an amazing breakfast sandwich with an over medium egg that was perfectly runny. The ambiance in there felt like home, very casual and the employees really seemed like they knew a lot of the regulars that came in. Would 100% come here again when in town.
google avatar

Dan d.

Yelp
Will try to make this a regular stop. Wonderful array of food and coffees and a very welcoming atmosphere! I had a great ham and cheese croissant and took the suggestion to add an egg. I really like a place that makes friendly suggestions. Makes a difference. Both the food and the honey Latte were delicious!
google avatar

Reginald V.

Yelp
This is a great spot in the neighborhood and much needed. The quality of their cappuccino is top notch. Their breakfast sandwiches are also second to none. A great ratio of bread to fillings. I come in as often as possible and so should you.

Tony R.

Yelp
This little cafe is fantastic. Good coffee drinks and an excellent staff keeping up with a pretty busy demand on a Sunday morning. The moonwalker is more than a sand ice--it's a handheld walking breakfast. The pictures in another review brought me in, but having it in person is what will bring me back!
google avatar

Carole G.

Yelp
The quality is top notch, my breakfast sandwich was fire and my husband equally enjoyed his ham and cheese croissant sandwich. The croissant sandwich was loaded with ham, I had to snag a bite. SO GOOD! Come here!!!

Hollis B.

Yelp
Delighted to discover this gem. After dropping a friend off at the crack of dawn at the blue line to O'hare, I needed a reward: The Perfect Breakfast Sandwich, which I found here. This cozy neighborhood spot opens early and uses quality ingredients, including the aioli. I combined the two options and it was delicious. I'll be back just to treat myself.

Nour K.

Yelp
The best place ever You can found all you need to walk you uppp always you found new item you would love to try friendly people Thank you guys for ur food
google avatar

Yelp
Fantastic experience! Luna and her chef Max were so kind and friendly! Food and drinks were crafted to perfection! They really put thought into their food! Cozy place to sit. Definitely recommend stopping in here. This will likely become your favorite spot! Thank you for your kindness

Kolin D.

Yelp
I live really close to this place. It has really cute vibes, and delicious breakfast sandwiches. I think about their garlic aioli a lot. The people at the counter are always super nice. I love taking my girlfriend here to impress her so she thinks I know all the cool coffee joints in the neighborhood.

Jack R.

Yelp
Honestly I have never left a review in my entire life so this should say something. I live down the street from Moonwalker and have been in on numerous occasions. I was one of the first patrons when they opened their business years ago. They were struggling to generate business and I did my best to spread via word of mouth. How things have fallen... The two owners have more interest in running a social club with their "regulars" than actually providing a good business. Went there last week and placed a simple order, that was not only wrong, but when we told the owner(s) about it, they were rude and abrasive, as if it were our fault that they cant get the order / name correct. I work in hospitality/customer service so I was as polite as I could be, explaining how I understand its a mistake, but the order they gave us was full of meat, when we ordered a VEGAN meal..and we continued to get accosted by the male owner Jack. I was honestly shocked. Lets get to the food/coffee. WILDLY expensive for what you get and let be VERY honest, the coffee is TERRIBLE. Which to me is crazy since they use Dark Matter beans, one of my favorites. Its clear nobody knows how to use the coffee machine because both my iced coffee and girlfriend's espresso was terribly bitter and we could not even finish it. BAD. The sandwiches are decent, but essentially paying 20$ for a plain sandwich you can make at home yourself on top of awful coffee and mediocre service. I have given this place sooo many chances and it continues to let me down. Owners are unbearable and talk to much, just take the order and move on to the next customer, 10min conversations while you have a line almost out the door is so inconsiderate. In synopsis, there are too many great places near Moonwalker to waste your money on them. Id do a 0/5 if I could.
google avatar

Jeremy J.

Yelp
The perfect kind of neighborhood coffee shop. Really good food and lattes and the owners were very nice and helpful with good recommendations. It's the kind of place that's worth going out of your way to support so it can stay in the neighborhood for a long time.
google avatar

Amanda C.

Yelp
Before even talking about the food, the atmosphere is great! I had their chicken sandwich which had the best aïoli and came with crops chips and just the right amount. I also had their lavender lemonade which came out fresh and perfectly mixed, as well as a latte which was also excellent!

Camryn W.

Yelp
whoever said sexiest breakfast sammie in town.....they were right and they were so nice
google avatar

Annie M.

Yelp
Moonwalked is the perfect place to come get a high quality coffee drink and breakfast or lunch while in the neighborhood! All the food and coffee is freshly made to order by the amazing owners, Luna and Jack. The place is decorated beautifully and includes some local art and whole beans (amongst other things) to browse and purchase while you wait for your food. We stopped in for lunch while in town. I got the spinach and feta cali breakfast burrito-- it was great! Just enough food to make me feel satisfied without being too heavy. The cafe is small, but has a great variety of both food and coffee options, for veggie and meat eaters alike. The owners also told us about a Friday night pop-up dinner they'd be hosting later that week. Can't wait to come back next time I'm in town!!
google avatar

Tracy D.

Yelp
Moonwalker's bagel sandwiches and cold brew are impeccable. Their Brunch Bagel is one of the best bagel sandwiches I've had. They somehow manage to balance warmth, friendliness, and efficiency.
google avatar

Kay R.

Yelp
Best of the best, something for everyone! We've had the luck to have found this friendly and charming restaurant. Moonwalker Cafe has a full sandwich menu with a large choice of delectable sweet yummies as well. Starting with its breakfast sandwiches, so enticing with plenty of fixings. Iced coffees, as well as hot, deserve high points. The sandwiches, roast beef and meatloaf, were in-house cooked and delish; they contained generous portions of scrumptious ingredients and were absolutely tasty. The friendly staff and owner made us feel welcome the moment we walked in and left us looking forward to our next visit. Whether you choose pick-up or eat-in, Moonwalker Cafe is the place you'll not soon forget.

Yelp
Definitely a great hidden gem!!! I found out about this place thru google and I'm glad I did. The owners there are super friendly and helpful. Made me feel right at home even tho it was my first time there. Seating is a bit limited, but the vibes are there!! Food and coffee were amazing too! Breakfast sandwiches are a must and the coffee is great quality. FYI, check there instagram out!! They have tons of events happening, from special food items to chili tasting events and more. I will definitely be coming back!!!

Yelp
Smallish Cafe/ Coffee Shop on Belmont just a block West of Pulaski run by a husband & wife team. Chalkboard menu of 10 items split between breakfast stuff and sandwiches! Everything is sourced from high quality establishments including Dark Matter, Hewn Bakery, Catalpa Farms, etc. All the food is made to order from scratch so expect to wait a bit. I tried their Biscuits & Gravy and they were phenomenal, some of the best I've had! They also have a large array of lattes & donuts from Do-Rite on the weekends. Proprietors are very hospitable and will give you plenty of ideas on whats good unless you already know what you want! Keep in mind this is pretty much carry out only not a diner type concept as they only have one table and a few benches. Prices a bit above average but you are paying for QUALITY! Talk later
google avatar

Jay Grace N.

Yelp
Moonwalker Cafe was definetly one of the highlights of our trip to Chicago! It's a must from now on! The locals are lucky to have such a cute and DELICIOUS spot close by. We'll definitely make sure to visit when we're in town. Make sure you check it out! You're welcome, in advance. :-)

Yelp
Just what Avondale needed!! I had a snickerdoodle latte and it was delicious! It helps that the owners are great too! I've since stopped by for breakfast and dinner. Both were yummy!! Make sure you reach out via instagram or call to see if dinner is available because they may sell out! I really feel like this will be a staple in our community for years to come!
