"There are plenty of chain steakhouses near the BCEC, but the best choice for an indulgent dinner is locally owned Mooo. The restaurant covers all the usual steakhouse bases with aged filet mignon, ribeye, and the like, but also has some unique bites like incredible, rich wagyu beef dumplings. The large space is great with a group, and the bar is ideal for catching a game after a long day." - Tanya Edwards

"Mooo is the textbook example of a Beacon Hill steakhouse. It’s in a historic hotel that George Washington might’ve slept in, and the menu features a $190 Japanese A5 Wagyu sirloin with a bone marrow add-on. While this place is caviar-fancy, the bar area stays a little looser. You can’t go wrong either way, but we often find ourselves at the bar, especially if, say, our best friend needs a little post-breakup consolation over cocktails and slabs of meat." - Tanya Edwards

"This renovated warehouse space has seen a few restaurants come and go, but Mooo is finally the right fit. They’ve got a Beacon Hill location, but the glossy interiors and high-ceiling Seaport spot suit the steakhouse better. The menu combines usual steakhouse things with more memorable detours like devastatingly rich wagyu beef dumplings and mushroom bisque baked in a flaky pastry. All of that makes this a perfect choice for celebrating finally finishing grad school or a big birthday where you want to ball out for some $300 wagyu that’s carved tableside. When it comes to the actual meat, the prime au poivre can’t be beat, because this peppery sauce could make even an old shoe taste good. " - tanya edwards

Appetizers: okay not exceptional except the bread. You will be addicted to the bread and the butter. Fluffy but crispy on the outer. Steak: very tender and juicy cut of meat. The wine and truffle sauce goes perfect with steak. Service: attentive and kind. I guess she was a little nervous when cutting the meat.

Celebrating our 18th wedding anniversary at Moo Seport was an absolute delight. Our server, Alex, was incredibly attentive and made us feel right at home. But it was Stefan Johnson who truly stole the show. His expert recommendations, from pairing oysters with Laurent-Perrier to suggesting a Faiveley Pinot Noir for my husband, elevated our dining experience to a whole new level. We were pleasantly surprised with the complimentary dessert wine, which was simply divine. This was our first time enjoying Moo Seport to the fullest, and it won't be our last. The unforgettable chocolate cake was the perfect ending to a truly memorable evening.

Updated visit 9/22/24: I was able to give feedback about my last visit and the folks here were very receptive and apologized for the long wait times! This visit was excellent and definitely improved from last year. Our server, Chris, took excellent care of us. He checked in on us, gave great suggestions, and was around if we needed anything. The length of the meal was more than appropriate, even through dessert. The food was excellent as always. I loved my beef wellington, and my friends enjoyed both their steaks and branzino. Video review soon to be posted on my YouTube (AlexEats) and Instagram (linked on my profile).

Me and my girlfriend came to moo for the first time today and had the most amazing experience , the food was incredible and the service was impeccable. Our server Vanessa had amazing insight into the menu and gave great recommendations, and the General Manager Ian was very gracious and hospitable when making sure everything was to our liking. Will be coming back again and again, new favorite steak house in Boston!

Beautiful location. Have been to this one and Beacon Hill. Service was great. Food was on point as usual.

The food is incredible, great quality and delicious. Also the sides are amazing and there’s quite a selection to choose from. Nice ambience as well- we had a great time

This place is very nice and we had a great experience. The food and atmosphere is as you'd expect from a high end steakhouse. The service is what put it over the top. One of the managers noticed my uncle had a paralyzed arm (for which he does a pretty good job of concealing that his arm has a very limited range of motion) and without making a scene or big deal about it, came over and asked if he would like the kitchen to slice his steak. Amazing heads up from the staff.

Google
Absolutely no complaints. The flow of service was impeccable. Our server Vanessa made great recommendations and took great care of us. The general manager Ian was exceptional and made sure everything was to our liking. AND the food. Where do I even begin. We got the tuna tartare, steak tartare, octopus and sirloin carpaccio as an appetizer. They were all incredible. We then got the beef Wellington with Foie gras and the Kobe cap and was blown out the water even more. I cant stress enough how perfect of a dining experience this was. It was my boyfriend’s and I first time here. And it will definitely not be our last.

Yelp
My moood every time I eat at Mooo.... is 10/10. A steakhouse is expected to have great steaks. And surely Mooo has the greatest steaks. But I was not expecting the baked goods here to stun me like it has. The complimentary dinner rolls here are dangerously delicious. They are fluffy, piping hot, buttery, soft and topped with flaky salt. The puff pastry on the lobster bisque, the burger buns and the cookies.... To the pastry chef in the kitchen you deserve a heavy round of applause. OK- now back to the steaks... albeit a few not entirely textbook medium rare steaks from time to time (they were apologetic and always made it up to us when it happened) the steaks here are always brought out with a sexy crust and are perfectly seasoned every single time. I am admittedly a purist at heart and find myself loving dishes that don't do too much let the preparation of the ingredients and the individual ingredients shine. Mooo gets this. The steaks are not drowned in truffle oil or smothered with unnecessary flavored butters but are presented simply and simple is best. The sides follow suit and are seasoned gracefully. The Yukon potatoes and exotic mushrooms are without fail a must order for me. If you want to try more sides the Mooo side flight is great value. Another honorable mention is the bone marrow. It is almost always packed here especially at the Seaport location from corporate functions, conference go-ers and working professionals coming for dinner so be sure to make reservations if you don't want to be turned away. There is a medium sized bar with seating that you can try and wait for but the service definitely isn't as great compared to the tables. They have a sommelier to help with wine pairings and we absolutely loved the bottle she picked out for us last time. On really good days they cut no corners in service- you'll have the manager accompanying your steaks to check if it is cooked to your liking, coursed dishes without asking so you can enjoy your meal without feeling rushed and a mention about a preference for more coarse ground black pepper turned into a dish of fresh coarsely ground pepper brought to the table just for me. The note on top of the menus for when you're celebrating an occasion is also such a nice touch! I never leave Mooo without dessert. The dessert that has captured my stomach is the milk and cookies which is basically a hug personified into homemade thin cookies with a milkshake. For the longest time I struggled when people would ask about my favorite steakhouse (I've tried a lot of steakhouses in the greater Boston area but only found out about Mooo.... 2 years ago). Ever since my first experience (that fateful night in 2022) no other steakhouse has compared to Mooo.... I now confidently say that Mooo.... is my favorite steakhouse and I would highly, highly recommend them to everyone!

Yelp
Have gone twice with my wife. Once at a work event her company paid and once for our 1 year wedding anniversary. Paid $250 and kind of disappointed value to food just wasn't there. Neither of us drink so this is without drinks. More a 3.5 star review but it doesn't allow me to do that so gave it 4 stars. Both times the service was excellent and we had to make reservations. Place is very nice but super pricey for what it is. If someone else is paying for it or it's an anniversary fine. It's just more you are paying for the experience and the location. You buy your entree and everything else is additional. Had the Prime New York sirloin and it was good... but I have a place locally that sells it with sides for $35 and taste much better. For $60 I want the steak to make me sing. The previous time I had a dry aged steak and it was $100 and maybe I am just not super fancy but did not find it all that special. For the price. Is it better than Texas Road house. Of course is it but 4-8x better than Texas road house. No it is not. Wife wanted to go because she absolutely loved the Beef Wellington the 1st time. She loved it the 2nd time. We drove up from Connecticut as the places that make Beef Wellington we gone to locally defiantly freeze it then reheat it. the one here was great. The sides are decent size but $15-30 they should be. The deserts tasted good too. We also had the appetizer of bone marrow and Grilled octopus both tasted excellent but again for $30 for an appetizer it should be excellent. Had better at places that cost $20 or less for each. Really comes down to it being super expensive and the taste while good is no where near what you expect for something that expensive.

Yelp
Super cute intimate dinner restaurant in the heart of Boston seaport. My boyfriend took me out here on a date and I thought it was so nice. Servers were attentive and food was good as expected. We shared a steak along with mashed potatoes and salad. My favorite had to be the steak of course!

Alexandra A.

Yelp
" Best steak I ever had " Whoa ! The steak blew me away. My husband was impressed as well . It's pricey so bring your husband's credit card , lol. It's a fun vibe . Warm , friendly and welcoming. Parking is difficult but manageable. We just had a fantastic time . We definitely will be back !

Yelp
Came here for my birthday and the restaurant and staff made the experience so special and intimate. We ordered way too much food since we thought the portions weren't going to be big, but we were wrong. I would highly recommend the bone marrow. It came with bread that just paired so well and the bone marrow itself was large and flavorful, probably the best I'd ever had! Also, the complimentary bread was filled with so much flavor. I usually don't eat the initial bread rolls but I finished all of the ones here. They also gave us some complimentary dessert for my birthday celebration. This is such a special place to celebrate and special occasions, just let them know!

Yelp
Our original reservations were through Open table and we were only allowed up to 5 for 2 reservations (our party was for 14 and we were going to adjust) however at the eleventh hour we had a change our res dropped to only 8. The restaurant was so accommodating and even asked if they could cancel the second res for us. We arrived earlier than our allotted time and they seated us without reserve. Our server was outstanding (Brad I think?) and he was helpful, engaging and friendly. We had only a few starters, a soup here, a salad there and maybe an app. All entrees were ordered and cooked to perfection. I was enamored by the sides and asked if I could order all sides as my entree and of course they granted my request. Hubs and I split a wedge (he hates tomatoes so I said I'd take his) and we asked for extra blue cheese crumbles. They split the salads perfectly (mine with all the tomatoes) and even the extra crumbles. They brought me a HOT place for my sides and to have a taste or two of the hubs' steak. Cocktails were spot on. We all were so stuffed there was no desserts ordered. Leftovers were packaged up nicely and presented in a brown bag with handles. Overall a really enjoyable dinner for a random Thursday evening. Would def return!

Yelp
We were staying down town and for some reason when I made reservations it was for September so I changed it to the seaport which had the time slot I was looking for. I am glad I did, they weren't packed and the waitress was phenomenal. She gave a lot of ideas and recommendations which I like when I go to a restaurant out of town to see what people like to order. She recommended the boan marrow which was outstanding and I wanted the wedge salad because I like trying everyone's so i know if it was good or not and this one had the perfect amount of crumbled blue cheese and dressing. I have to say it's one of my favorites. I had the age dried ribeye and it was cooked perfectly and was flavorful and there was a sauce that came with it and that was good. The life of me I can't remember what it was called. The lobster Mac and cheese was delicious. My wife had the Branzino which is a white fish with brown butter, she really liked it. They had a crowd and it was a nice restaurant and management check on you which is a plus. I would definitely go back when I go back to Boston.

Yelp
This is an upscale and trendy steakhouse with a romantic atmosphere. You need to walk up a flight of stairs to get access and the toilets are located downstairs which is not ideal. The service is impeccable, fluid and very professional. I was not crazy about their steak tartare where the chunks of meat were too big and it lacks capers and a fresh mayonnaise. Their fillet mignon was cooked to perfection and I absolutely loved their cream of spinach. Their truffle fries is also a must try. They have a great wine list. Their Caymus 50 years was a thing of beauty; full body rich in berries and with an aromatic spicy finish. Overall we had a great diner with Harrison and Sean to celebrate these two Bostonian freshmen. The restaurant is in a dark feutre decor where you can barely read anything.

Peter G.

Yelp
Amazing restaurant in Seaport Boston. I got the filet mignon medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. Appetizers wee delicious as well. Service was a little slow but they were super busy.

Yelp
What a beautiful restaurant! I felt like I drove from New York, threw my stuff into my hotel room and ran to Mooo... (How many dots are there in the title?) Somehow I drove to Boston while they're still having a wicked winter in April. I'm cold and wet, I check in with the hostess stand and I want to get into a nice Bourbon Cocktail as soon as possible. First off, what is with these prices?! Everything is priced, I think even higher than New York City. An Iceberg Wedge is $23 bucks?? The funny part is, the place was packed out on a Wednesday night. I read the menu online so I know what I want to order, there are two Sirloin Steaks on the menu, grass fed and prime. I want to see what my waiter is going to say so I chill. Speaking of, there is no description of how the meat is sourced at Mooo. Is it USDA Prime beef? Is there an aging process? How are the steaks cooked? The website says Chef/Owner Jamie Mammano uses his culinary expertise to create classic, yet modern steakhouse dishes. Great! I still want to know about the steaks. A waiter comes to the table and drops off four hot Parker Rolls. Next, my waiter comes to the table. I order a glass of Rioja, a side of Broccolini and I said Sirloin Steak. Very good sir. $59 for both Sirloin steaks, I'm not sure what he told the kitchen but it would have been nice to know more about the steak cut. My wine? Perfection The Broccolini? It has charred bits on top that made this very cravable. Now add the Spicy Calabrian Chili & Garlic? Incredible chef'd up side dish. The Sirloin? Cooked to perfection. That's the great thing about a Sirloin, it's a nice big cut to fill your belly. There was also a Sirloin with au poivre, I wasn't in the mood to have something too peppery. The herb butter that came with the steak, I laid on the flavor! Very good. One of the Sirloins that was served to me, the chef cooked it just right. Overall, I had an enjoyable meal. After dinner, I'm shown a dessert menu. My hotel is close to The North End and Modern Pastry is calling me. Mooo...? I had a great meal but in all honesty, I would of liked to drink a beer at the bar and have a chef'd up Mooo.. Burger. Can you work on that Chef/Owner Jamie Mammano?

Mel S.

Yelp
Easily a 4 star restaurant with one criticism for the uncomfortable feeling I had of meeting the hostess timeline she emphasized, of needing the table back at a specific time. I called for a same day reservation to arrive by 5:30 with a party of four. The hostess was great and accommodated with the caveat that the table must be returned by 7:30. Unfortunately my full party arrived late because there is another MOO restaurant that they ended up going to. Two of us ordered appetizers but naturally waited to order food with the others. For the caliber of the restaurant, I just don't expect to be told you need a table back by a specific time if I'm spending $200 plus dollars for two, at a table of four. The restaurant is on a quiet street, has valet, but parking on the street is residential only. The inside is modern, bathrooms located down the stairs from the restaurant so plan accordingly, and the staff was friendly without hovering and were available when needed. The food was very good! I'd drive the 2 hours to come back for the steak. Had the lobster mac which was good but a tad bit too al dente. The calamari was seasoned well and the sauces it came with were a good accompaniment. The Wellington was stuffed with a large piece of mushroom and the foie gras and spinach. The Wellington steak was cooked nicely but the large piece of mushroom and foie gras made the dough soggy and took away from the steak. Another at my table loved it just as it was (it was her first beef Wellington). It is a solid Wellington just not my guest's favorite ever. Still good just not great. As we were coming up on our timeline to hand the table over we didn't get the chance to have dessert but I asked if we could stay and they did say it was ok and gave us menus. But since I made an agreement, I honored it and we left just after 7:30. I'd go back.

Joy G.

Yelp
I'm not a huge steak person but I'd rate this place as definitely worth a special occasion. The inside is classic steakhouse decor, all dark mood lighting and wood paneling. Here were my favorites: 1. Parker house rolls that they start you off at the beginning. 5/5. 10/10. So, so hard to resist filling up on these before all the other dishes start rolling out. This was perhaps the best bite of the night. 2. East coast oysters: super fresh and large. My heart hurts when ordering oysters at such a premium because there are some good $1 oyster specials and it's not too much work/expensive to buy a bunch and shuck yourself, but these were excellent. 3. Roasted mushrooms side: super decadent and rich. Everything else we ordered was incredible and reflected extensive attention to detail - for instance, the Caesar had these beautiful garlic croutons and generous sheets of Parm, while the complimentary dessert made in-house were these pretty dark-chocolate covered marshmallows with a graham cracker bottom. The octopus app had neat little roasted slivers of tomato and potato that rivaled the octopus itself. Things I would skip next time: the creme brûlée. I was stuffed beyond measure but still wanted something sweet. It was good but I was too full to truly appreciate it; plus, they give you a free sweet bite. I would definitely sit at the bar and get the burger. Plus the fries. PARKING: Unless you have a parking permit, there are virtually no street options; we spent a long time circling around the restaurant before giving up and parking in a lot about 10 minutes away.

Chris T.

Yelp
Must say went here for couple bday dinners and i like the seaport location better than their original downtown. Parking is in the backside of the building (paid lot) if you can't snag a street meter. Once upstairs, you check in and the staff has always been nice. It's got a lively atmosphere, sometimes we have to up our level of volume for us to hear eachother. We typically get the panko crusted onion rings that has parm on it with a tomato aioli. Always crispy never mushy when we ordered. The friends also like the roasted garlic shrooms (I'm not much of a shrooms person) for apps as well. Truffle fries, lobster mac cheese (usually could use a bit more seasoning imo) and tater tots are good sides. We typically order the prime bone-in ribeye which always is cooked to temp, we only had one time it was a tad over. Nice crust nice flavor and juicy. Definitely shareable (2 of us share it at times). We also occasionally order the filet, it's always been pretty spot on med-rare. Always afraid ordering medium it'll go over and with a lean steak that's not fun. They have plenty of drinks, full bar so they pretty much can make whatever you want to drink. Will be back again to this location, cleaner, faster service and better ambiance i think then downtown.

Shuayb S.

Yelp
On a recent business trip. We were looking for a walkable restraints t from the hotel. Called last minute for a table for 3 and they were able to accommodate us. Ordered filet mignon and branzino fish, both items were very flavorful and cooked just right. The restaurant had a great ambience and vibe.

Kate N.

Yelp
The experience at Moo... was overall wonderful! The ambiance is very trendy, clean, and up to tasteful. Our service was kind and very attentive, but the only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because I'be honestly had better food at restaurants for half the price. That being said, the lobster bisque itself was unbeatable. Truly to die for and everyone wanted more. If you go here, make sure that everyone gets their own bowl of it. Fan favorite! The grilled octopus was so dry and flavorless I would definitely recommend avoiding it. The Filey Mignon carpaccio on the other hand was good, and I would potentially order it again. I had the sea bass ceviche as a main instead of an app because the bisque was very filling, and I thought it was delicious. If you're eating light, I'd recommend it! Some friends got the steak and said it was a good steak, nothing crazy but definitely the kind of leftovers you'd take home at least. To end it, the bananas foster was exceptional, and if you're debating over dessert, i'd definitely swing for that option!

Yelp
Good bar to chill at when waiting for your table. Table service was awesome and help was great. Vibes and food top notch!

Yelp
Wow! Mooo is one of the top restaurants in Boston. We have been many times and are always blown away by the food, service and experience. Don't skip the chocolate chip cookies at the end of the meal!!

Shanna B.

Yelp
The food was unbelievable as well as the service. Everything was taken care of and they even printed special menus for me as it was my birthday. :) Very nice atmosphere and welcoming staff. I can't wait to go back!!

Neeka P.

Yelp
Overall pretty good experience. We came earlier than our reservation and they were able to seat us immediately! The place is very pretty and a lot more lively than I thought it'd be. We ordered calamari as an appetizer and it was delicious and so crispy, some of the best I've ever had. For sides we got mashed potatoes which were good but could've used more flavor and we got tater tots which were INCREDIBLE. also the portions for all of these dishes were great sizes, we took some tater tots home. The steaks were okay. The meat was great in them but there just wasn't much flavor, which is a bummer when you're paying over $60 for it. So I'm glad I tried it but probably wouldn't go back just since I like some more flavor in my steaks.

Danyel M.

Yelp
We decided to make a last minute rez on open table to celebrate my hubby's birthday. We were running 5 mins behind and I called to let them know. They were appreciative we did. Our table was near a window which was nice, and the table was spacious. We were offered water straightaway. Shortly after, our server came and took our drink order. I ordered the devil's advocate and my hubby ordered Rosemary's (something). Both were delicious! And beautiful! For starters, we ordered the calamari and shrimp cocktail. They also brought us the house rolls. THESE WERE AMAZING!!!!! This bread is why I eat bread! For dinner, we ordered the salmon and the Cornish hen plus the corn on the side! Soooo delicious. We ate every bite. As a surprise they brought us chocolate covered marshmallows...yummy. We also ordered the bananas foster to go. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and cannot wait to come back! Thank you for a memorable birthday celebration, Moooo Seaport!

Phil M.

Yelp
Very good food and a hip modern ambiance. Super pricy though think $17 mashed potatoes pricey The peppered steak was cheap cooked to perfection.

Jessica B.

Yelp
HOLY COW. No pun intended ;) This is one of my all-time favorite steakhouses in Boston. The quality of the food, service and ambiance are top notch. Yes it is pricey and also yes, it is worth every penny! My husband and I came here recently on a double date with some friends. We started with amazing soft and warm pillowy dinner rolls, then moved onto oysters and tuna tartare. Both were excellent; served extremely cold on ice and tasted fresh as can be. For my entree, I ordered the filet mignon, medium-rare. It came out PERFECT. The flavor along with the side of butter they give you to put on your steak just melts in your mouth. We ordered the "mooo flight" for our sides which included mashed potatoes, fries, mushrooms and creamed spinach. There was plenty to go around for 4 people. We also all shared dessert: chocolate cake, milk & cookies and creme brûlée. All of them were TO-DIE-FOR! Softest cookies I've ever had in my life. Creme brûlée was outstanding and I don't even like creme brûlée. And omg that chocolate cake with those little chocolate pearls on top - fantastic! Do yourself a favor and come here for a fancy night out!

Yelp
I've officially found my new favorite steakhouse, and Mooo definitely will make the list of my top 10 dining experiences in 2024. My fiance has mentioned Mooo in passing previously, but once we had a chance for a Boston weekend trip, I knew we had to stop by. Even before I get to the food, I have to commend Mooo on their EXCEPTIONAL service. The entire staff was incredibly professional and so well coordinated - by far some of the best service I've ever seen. They take allergies seriously here, and every person is well informed of any allergies within your party. Truly top notch service. My fiance and I scoped out the menu well before our reservation, and we decided on the Maine Lobster Bisque ($24), Roasted Bone Marrow ($29), Prime Bone-In Dry Aged Ribeye ($95), American Wagyu Cap ($105), Broccolini ($15), and the Mooo Steak Sauce ($4). Our waiter kindly offered to split the bisque for us in the kitchen, and each bowl came with its own puff pastry!! This was BY FAR some of the best lobster bisque I've had - so flavorful without being too rich. The roasted bone marrow app is a MUST. Although it seems like its on the pricier end for bone marrow, it really comes with all the fixings. The roasted garlic, bordelaise, pickled onions, and bone marrow on top of the bread made for THE perfect bite. They don't skimp on the bone marrow portions either. As for the steaks, I'm convinced that you can't go wrong with any of the steaks, but we really enjoyed our selections. The temperature on the steaks were perfect and as requested. When I say this was a proper steak, I really mean this was EXCELLENT. Broccolini made for a great side - the char, calabrian chili, and garlic were all perfectly balanced. Everything we ordered was amazing, and the timing allowed for a relaxed dinner. The ambiance inside is really fitting for a romantic, intimate dinner. Highly highly recommend Mooo for celebrations and special occasions. They also have space for private events downstairs. Truly one of the best dining experiences I've ever had, and I can't wait to be back!

Yelp
We came here for my birthday on Friday night. The place was busy, but service was smooth and professional. The interior was low lit and give it a fancy vibe. The food was amazing. We got the 48oz Tomahawk Steak, Lobster Mc n Cheese, Truffle Parmesan Fries, Apple Tart, and Beef Wellington. The Tomahawk was delicious with a perfect burnt layer in it. Beef Wellington was beautiful to eat. Lobster Mac n cheese was creamy and delicious. Apple Tart was warm, sweet and amazing. They gave us homemade smore. Overall, worth every penny. can't wait to come back

Yelp
I came here on a Saturday night for a birthday dinner. We arrived late but they were still able to seat us. Inside was dimly lit and aesthetically pleasing. If you had a good flash, there were lots of places to capture an instagram worthy picture. It was also pretty busy inside, which I expected for a Saturday night. Our waiter was really friendly and helpful when it came down to the menu. I ended up ordering the Japanese wagyu beef dumplings, the linguine that came with gulf shrimp, the truffled Parmesan fries and the broccolini. Because I'm greedy, I also tried the calamari, the classic Caesar, the beef Wellington and the lobster. I was mostly excited about the Japanese wagyu beef dumplings since I'm obsessed with the ones at Nobu, but was left a little disappointed. The dumpling wrapper tasted as if it had been microwaved and the texture turned a little tough. They also came out room temperature and not warm at all. The linguine was just okay and nothing special. The truffle fries were standard. I enjoyed them. Same with the broccolini. The classic Caesar was just that and nothing special. My friend really enjoyed her beef Wellington. I thought it was tasty and flavorful (my 1st time trying that). The lobster was also good. It was cooked perfectly and still juicy. I also really liked the dinner rolls that were brought to the table and could have eaten all 4 by myself. Overall the meal was pretty basic but the prices were not. There wasn't anything that I ate that I haven't had better elsewhere. I probably won't be returning unless I'm forced to go for someone else's birthday or special event. They do offer great service though!

Yelp
Always a 5 star experience. My husband and I used to live near the beacon hill location and went often. I feel this location is slightly more casual. It's a comfortable laid back bar setting but still polished with friendly service. I think this location has the best filet in the city. I barely rested my steak knife on the meat and it falls through like butter. The honey glazed carrots and mashed potatoes are favorites. Although I didn't order them tonight, the wagyu beef dumplings are also a favorite. The gentleman behind the bar is always amicable and makes a great cocktail. 5/5.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant, wonderful ambiance and music. Wine list is exceptional, as is the sommelier. Incredible quality of food...both meat and seafood entrees were exceptional. Tuna and salmon (special) tartare were amazing, salads were fresh and steaks were best ever. Highly recommend checking this place out!

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! Very romantic vibes as they keep the entire restaurant very dim. The food was absolutely incredible and the waiter was fantastic! There is a parking lot near by, so easy to commute to and it is in Seaport, so nice area to walk around after dinner. I forgot to take pictures but highly recommend the side flight (includes creamed spinach, mashed potatoes, truffle fries, and mushrooms) and the milk and cookies for dessert!

Yelp
42nd Wedding anniversary and I must say it was a disappointing experience. The ambience is just ok with industrial lighting across the street not very conducive for fine dining. The noise level was extremely loud and energetic. The evening began w/ a Negroni along with/ a strawberry swing. For appetizers we ordered steak tartare which was just outstanding and dumplings which were good, but nothing special. Entrees were a ribeye and a NY sirloin steak along w/ a bernaise sauce and mashed potatoes. The sirloin had excellent flavor. You would have expected the ribeye to have had more flavor, but that was not the case. The sides of mashed potatoes and the bernaise sauce were great! The ribeye was returned for a sirloin. For after dinner, tea, cappuccino, dessert consisting of bananas foster w/ butter cake was split along w/ grand marnier ( a very stingy pour). The Maitre' D along w/ the server arrived w/ a piece of chocolate cake and let us know that the dessert, and the grand marnier were on the house. The thoughtfulness and generosity was greatly appreciated. I however would not rush back. Just a note. The restaurant is on the second floor from the lobby so for handicap access, there is an elevator. The button to close the door however was broken so you are on your own waiting for the door to close.

Yelp
Made reservations for my sons birthday, and just mentioned it was his birthday. Pulled up to valet, no waiting. Walked in with family to elegant restaurant. Sat us within 3 minutes. We look at the menu and see printed on the Menu, Happy Birthday! What a lovely touch!! Food was amazing, expensive yes, but very good for special night out. I dropped a knife and someone was over with a new one within seconds! The staff here are amazing and so attentive. The staff all work together to make your night amazing. My daughter and I shared the chocolate cake, amazing!! The boys loved their desserts too, apple crisp thing and crème brûlée. The wine, steak. Sides, dessert were all top notch. We had an amazing night out celebrating my sons birthday!

Yelp
It is evident that "Moo" is a fine restaurant worthy of your patronage (with sufficient funds). (three courses, 4 glasses of wine clocked in at $400) This is offered as "fair warning" - and to help assure a top-notch experience. Two courses in - the waiter asked for our "whole order" - this was after we'd told her we were going to settle in and delay our pick for the main course. We ordered salads and main course and continued savoring our meal. I had expected our salads and was jolted to find the main course served before we were ready for it. I objected and soon came a fellow in a suit "apologizing" - over and over. I (always) find this to be utterly unnecessary. I finally asked him to stop apologizing and go away - this didn't work - since (apparently) this was about HIS concept of service. Our waiter "explained" that the kitchen wants waiters to get the whole order. Earlier my approach SHOULD HAVE BEEN to say "We don't know yet what our main course will be". I strongly advise patrons to do the same - that is if dining at leisure is your goal. EDIT See below - review dated 2024apr06: "I called for a same day reservation to arrive by 5:30 with a party of four. The hostess was great and accommodated with the caveat that the table must be returned by 7:30" This may explain why our main courses were rushed past the salad course - not that we got any such feedback with our online reservation. AGAIN - the kitchen's priority is not yours - withhold your order on your own time.

Yelp
Had a private dinner in the Hearth Room for my daughter's graduation. The room was beautiful. Sat exactly 16 people. The service was outstanding and the food was amazing. From the Sirloin, Filet Mignon, Lobster and Halibut. All were great choices for the private gathering.

Yelp
Disclaimer: This was for a Monday night visit and as part of a large (14-person) party--not that either is rationale for being less than stellar--but mileage may vary (read: improve) for a smaller party later in the week. Burger: Let's start with the good, because this burger was very good. Note that it's only available at the bar, as the staff will repeatedly tell you, and note that it's $32. But it's thick, rich, cooked perfectly to desired temp, very well seasoned, and boasting two thick-cut bacon strips that flirt with crispness on the surface and yield substantial juices--much like the burger--from within. Cheese barely melted. Condiment simple, showcasing the high end beef. What the beef was, nobody at the bar could tell me. But it was very good. Crisp, thin fries (frozen) and pickles (tasty but mushy) included. Apps: A bunch of us tried a bunch of apps: some good, some not, some good but not worth the price. Yes, it's a steakhouse, so steakhouse prices are warranted, but so is quality. - Meatballs: decent, small, nice flavor, pricy - Wagyu Dumplings: tasty but minuscule - Octopus: excellent seafood and grilling; unappealing (chopped up) presentation - Calamari: generous on overall portion, each piece very tiny, crisp and competent, no more, no less - Shrimp Scampi: not technically an app but an optional steak add-on at 4 for $29: tasty but tame of garlic and borderline minuscule Aged Ribeye Steak: Cooked to temp, competently prepared and presented with no bells or whistles. Not particularly tender or flavorful--and no aged flavor--but no glaring issues. Basically a pretty good steak at the price of a great steak, perhaps a product of the Monday team. Lack of age flavor aside, nothing really wrong with it, just not comparable to similar steaks at similar places at similar prices. Sides: Tried a bunch. Kinda small, kinda plain. Exception: (the non-creamed version of) the spinach, which was superb. Service: No glaring issues. Just slow, robotic, and lacking personality and the kind of panache you expect at an upscale steakhouse. Atmosphere: Modern, elegant, and sophisticated. A joy. Overall: Enough promise to give it a try on a weekend, but not in any rush. Perhaps a burger at the bar and a few apps, and do some visual scouting on the steaks.

Yelp
The rolls and butter were excellent both warm, soft and savory with a sprinkle of salt. Definitely worth the hype! They served us sparkling water that was good as well. The Parmesan truffled French fries were a flavorful appetizer that was perfectly cooked and well portioned. We also had a Rhode Island style crispy calamari appetizer that came with lemon aioli that made for the perfect squeeze with their arrabbiata sauce (red pasta sauce). That is one item that could have been better. We ordered an 18 oz bone in steak that wasn't on the menu and it was big enough for me and my hot date to share evenly. Their lobster Mac and regular Mac and cheese were both well seasoned and really cheesy. Their sautéed arrowhead spinach may have been my personal favorite of the dish. One bowl and I felt like Popeye the sailor man. We finally topped off the evening with their dessert, "Milk and Cookies." The milk was similar to a milkshake and the cookies were fresh, warm, soft and baked to perfection. They also gave us marmellos which was chocolate covered marshmallows when given the bill. The waiter and servers were all friendly and very attentive. They all smiled and asked how we were doing from the front door to the table. The manager checked in as soon as we got our plates and personally asked how the meat tastes and if everything was okay. Another figure asked the same question as we left. The room was dim and set a very romantic vibe and ambiance. The tables were candle lit, (with real fire,) and everything was served in either cast iron or really nice dishes. The dinner and two rounds of drinks totaled about $330. One thing that can be said is that we definitely didn't go home hungry and ultimately the food was pretty good. I'm pretty sure we would go back as well as recommend others to go and try for yourself.

Yelp
Delicious!!! Went here for the first time for my BF's Birthday. It was quite pricey, so ... I can't say I'll be back anytime soon. However, if I had all the money in the world, I'd be back in a jiffy. Ambience: LOVE!!! So classy!!! As soon as you step in the door, you know it's a classy joint. The stairs are kind of a pain ... but typical Boston. The inside is very spacious with a huge bar. The seats are super comfortable. Most with pillows. I would say that a negative would be the size of the tables. I really felt rushed eating due to the servers wanting to clear the table to make room for more dishes, which wouldn't have been a problem if the table was a tad bigger. Food: Once again, very pricey ... but enjoyed everything we got. It was all cooked superbly ... flavorful but not too flavorful. Serving size was ok. Everything is a la crate, which is always a bummer, especially if the serving size is on the smaller side. We got the Waygu Dumplings based on other reviews, and they were to die for!!! Definitely recommend!!! I chose the smallest filet, since I don't eat much meat, and it was perfect!!! I picked out the truffle sauce for it, which was amazing!!! Definitely recommend!!! We also got the beef tartare. I didn't have any of it, but the presentation of it was beautiful. My BF got the beef wellington. We also got a few sides and a couple of desserts. I got the crime brûlée, which was actually a very generous portion. He got the cookies and cream and was not too fond of it. I guess the cookies weren't cooked enough? Service: Other reviews mentioned that they felt short on service. Honestly, I didn't feel that way at all. I thought the service was superb. We went on a Monday though, so maybe the weekends are a bit more hectic? All in all ... this place is damn good!!! I really wanted to give this place 5 stars, but it was so freaking expensive. Like ... I can't go out to eat for awhile. Maybe I'm just poor, but I don't really understand why??? Why so much?! Also, although they mentioned my BF's Birthday several times ... even wrote it on the menu, they charged for his dessert. Just think they could have accommodated HIS dessert for his Birthday, especially since our bill was +$350. Like YOWZA!!!!!

Yelp
I hosted my birthday dinner with friends here and the ambience was giving dark and moody. I started with the classic Caesar which was fresh but nothing special. For drinks, I had the Raventós i Blanc di nit rosé and it tasted really nice. My main entree consisted of the Maine lobster with broccolini. The lobster was a little dry and overcooked. The wagyu beef dumplings were good but also tasted like they might have been microwaved due to its texture. My milk and cookies had to be my favorite overall but also, how can you mess up milk and cookies? Overall, for dining experience, ambience, and service, I give this place an 8/10, but for these prices, the food quality certainly did not match.

Yelp
I've traveled the entire country and eaten at some of the best steakhouses in existence. Let me tell you, Mooo is hands-down the best experience I've ever had. From the moment we walked in the door for my wife's birthday dinner until the moment we left, the night was perfect. We were about 30 minutes early for our reservation - no problem. Our order: 2 English Martinis made to perfection. Ice cold, poured table side. Tuna Tartare app: mind blowing. The quality of the tuna was top notch, and that sauce! Caesar Salad: Perfectly prepared, nice large slivers of parmesan, and OMG those croutons. Steak Au Poivre: I was literally speechless which doesn't happen often. Expertly cooked after being coated with peppercorns, and that sauce. I could drink it. Rich, spicy, elegant. Shrimp Scampi: Tender large shrimp, loaded with white wine and garlic. So light, yet so good. Don't skimp on the desert either. The milk and cookies are to die for. On top of all that, the service is top notch. Our glasses were never empty. Management came by to ensure everything was great, and our server was fantastic. Good think we don't live in Boston, because we'd go broke eating here all the time.

Yelp
Ate here last night and once again this restaurant hits the mark on every front - excellent food, wine, service, ambiance. And this time we were fortunate enough to have Vanessa as our server. She's amazing and made our experience last night even better.

Yelp
AMAZING steakhouse (best in Boston)!!! I live close to Mooo, so I go quite often; and never have I been disappointed! I've tried several cuts of the steak, but the filet mignon is my favorite. It is juicy, always cooked to perfection, is so tender you can cut it with a butter knife, and is served with flavorful bone marrow butter (as are all the steaks). The next best thing about this restaurant, is the BREAD. The rolls that are served before the food are THE best rolls I've ever had. The outside is salty and crispy, the inside is buttery and gooey. 10/10 on the bread, you'll want to order another loaf. My favorite side dish are the mashed potatoes- their texture is silky and smooth, and they have the right amount of salt & butter. I have also tried (and loved) the prime steak tartare, the ribeye and sirloin meatballs, the mushrooms, the Japanese wagyu beef dumplings, and the wedge salad. The steak tartare may be the best I've had- I just always wish the egg had a yolk (not sure if it's always over cooked, or if the chef does not want it to run). Desserts at Mooo are decadent, but my favorite is the espresso martini as an after dinner drink. The wine list is extraordinary, they carry MANY more bottles than I would've ever expected. The service is impeccable; they are always very friendly and go out of the way to make sure you have a nice dinner. The wait staff and manager made me feel very welcome to the neighborhood when I moved in; an unforgettable experience. The prices are a little steep, but in my opinion, the food, service, and ambiance are worth it. This location does have limited hours compared to the main Mooo; but they will start opening Sundays August 7th!! The bar does get very packed and can be difficult to find a seat; so make sure you have a reservation in the dining room, or go to the bar early if you plan to eat. Love Mooo and will return, very soon!!

Yelp
Made reservations in advance after seeing great reviews. This place is wonderful! Great ambiance, friendly service, and the food is really good. I had had enough seafood on my trip to Massachusetts and was ready for a steak and this place was delicious. We had dumplings and meatballs for apps. So good! For dinner we had steak frites, beef Wellington, lobster Mac, and an aged steak. Our family of four finished the night by splitting a decadent slice of chocolate cake with ice cream. We were full and happy! The wine prices were on point for upscale dining. I wish there was a Mooo in Ft Lauderdale! I would definitely go back and will on my return to Boston.

Yelp
We ordered yellowfin tuna tartare and it was really good! We also ordered the sea bass ceviche and it was very seasoned but slightly salty. The Maine lobster bisque was delicious and definitely worth it! We also ordered the roasted bone marrow and that was really good also. The prime ribeye was perfectly seasoned and probably one of the best steaks I have had in awhile. The service was okay I don't know if it was because they opened like 30 minutes before we dined in and because it was slow and there was no one there yet but it took a long time for a server to come and attend to us and we had to flag someone down for them to notice us so we could order or ask for something.

Yelp
DELICIOUS DINNER We had dinner at Moo Seaport, an upscale steak restaurant that I would call a special occasion restaurant. It is a beautiful restaurant with really comfortable tufted upholstered seating, understated modern lighting and crisp white tablecloths. We started with a well prepared Caesar salad ($20). For entrees, we had the famous beef wellington ($77), the 16 oz rib eye ($76) and a side of whipped potatoes ($12). The beef wellington's filet was incredibly tender and it was my first taste of foie gras - wow :0). The whipped potatoes were incredible - maybe more butter than potatoes :0). The rib eye was nicely seared but not as tender as expected. We finished with a very large crème brulee ($18). While our dinner was delicious, I felt unwelcomed here. First, although we had reservations, dressed neatly/business casual and were the first party seated that evening, we were seated in a far corner of the restaurant. Other guests including at least two separate parties of guests wearing T shirts, gym shorts, yoga wear and sloppy jeans were seated at better placed tables. No one was seated near us (we were surrounded by empty tables) and the restaurant was never more than half full during our dinner. Second, we asked that the rib eye steak be cut in half and the beef wellington (which is served sliced in half) to be plated so that we each could enjoy half a rib eye steak and half beef wellington. Our waiter firmly refused simply saying the kitchen would not do that.

Yelp
Big love for their beef Wellington! The tenderloin, mushroom and foie gras are perfectly puzzled together. Presentation is like an art piece. Ceviche and grilled oyster are also very tasty. Portions are big, I was so full after the meal. The only flaw in my dining experience is the bone marrow: not my type, too rich and greasy. This location is new and service is great. While other restaurants may be short staffed during this pandemic time period, this place has a lot of waitresses/waiters.

Yelp
Get ready to spend money but literally have one of the best meals of your life. We had a delicious dinner last night! We started with tuna tartare and wygu beef dumplings. The tuna was excellent and honestly could be shared by 2 or 3! The dumplings were delicious taste but not for the beef. The wygu wasn't really noticed. The table ordered two of the steaks, swordfish and beef Wellington. I had the Wellington and it was one of the best things I've ever eaten. We ordered the sides, tater tots, broccolini and mushrooms. The tater tots were that from the freezer and not as good. The broccoli was a bit spicy. The mushrooms were amazing. The Wellington was ordered rare. I probably should have ordered Blue as it wasn't as rare as I would have hoped but didn't complain. The preparation and taste was excellent! Everyone loved their meals. It was truly an experience and enjoyed!

Devin M.

Yelp
Probably the most expensive of the steakhouses around Boston but the truffle sauce and filet mignon are worth it! The onion rings were awesome but don't fill up on those Seaport location had a nice bar area we sat at but kind of off the beaten path. Easy walk from South Station.

Bea W.

Yelp
Delicious wagyu ribeye. I would note that they seasoned it with a good amount of salt and pepper before bringing to the table. Good service - she knew we were very engaged in conversation but came shortly after we indicated we were ready to order. I will be back.

Yelp
Excellent location and ambience. Food was great! Our server was Chris, who is amazing! He was thoughtful to our needs and did a phenomenal job taking care of us!! The restaurant is lucky to have him represent them!

Yelp
Quite an amazing meal!!! The steaks were incredibly delicious, and our wait person was so, so attentive. It was in my sister's birthday, and our menus had HAPPY BIRTHDAY on them. A special treat for dessert, too. Best food I've had. If you feel like splurging, this restaurant is it!!
