I always enjoy going to Moore Brothers. Excellent selection of wine at appropriate prices. Customer service is outstanding. Someone is always happy to answer questions and make recommendations. Highly recommend.

Nice selection of wines from Germany, France and Italy. Some brand names and plenty of private label wines. Prices seem reasonable for the quality of wines. Good customer service with a good knowledge base of the wines. The wines were OK ( I visited with an Italian wine scholar, sommelier and wine educator) at the tasting table with a variety of wines to try for free. No Sicilian wines which is a disappointment if you are selling Italian wines.

Certainly one of the finest wine shops anywhere, with a selection and collective staff knowledge that makes its Industry City space feel more expansive than our taste buds could calculate. As frequent visitors since it opened, we have never bought a wine that was less than great (and our price points have ranged from $14 bottles up to $165). Plus, the level of detail you get from the incredibly warm and generous staff — including printed handouts of wines you taste and/or buy — is among the best wine educations we’ve ever received. This place is a treasure!

This is my favorite go-to wine store in NYC. They have a really nice curated selection of wines that all seem to come with a personal connection between the store and the producers. The staff is really great -- friendly, very knowledgeable, and helpful. Several times they've helped me tease out a nice choice based on what I tell them I'm cooking -- and not just the "obvious" choice. I love this place!

This is hands down the best wine shop in the neighborhood. I've never had a bad bottle from them. They have excellent wine at all prices and are always pouring wonderful wines in the back for you to try. My favorite part of the tastings is that you get to hear the story behind the wine, producer, and vineyards. They definitely know their stuff. They also give you tasting notes for every bottle in the store, which provides unique value. Just know they close a little early (8pm on weekdays, 6pm on Saturdays, 5pm on Sundays) so make sure you plan ahead!

I just stopped in to grab a couple of bottles for a kids birthday party. Other reviews said great selection and a very helpful staff. They’re right on both counts!

Curated selection of wines from Germany, Italy, & France. A bit disappointing not to see any New Zealand or Australian wines. Nice staff were helpful with selecting a good champagne. Kinda pricey though.

My wife and I absolute love this place. It is because of Moore Brothers that we have become so interested in wine. You'd be hard pressed to find better customer service at just about any business, let alone a wine shop. The selection is so unique, and unlike wines that you'll find anywhere else. Every wine that they carry they have a personal relationship with the producer, and the care in handling and selecting these wines really shows. Visiting the store is like an event in and of itself. There is always a few bottles on the tasting table, and all the staff are extremely helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. They know their inventory extremely well. This is such a great shop, and we would never buy wine anywhere else.

I got to sample a beautifully curated selection of wines at a gala and every taste was delicious. The Bele Casel Prosecco was dry and crisp. The tasting notes were helpful to narrow down preferences.

Back when we lived in Philly and suffered under the tyrannical yoke of the Pennsylvania liquor monopoly (did you know that in PA, liquor store employees are civil servants?), we used to schlep to the Moore Bros strip-mall shop in Cherry Hill to buy our month's supply of wine. You sauntered into the 53 F cellar-slash-store, borrowed your Moore Bros fleece, ambled amongst the warren of bottles arrayed like dozing puppies, listened to the attendant's gentle, loving disquisitions on the travails of some wine-making family from Piedmont, and felt blessed to be snagging 2 of the 27 bottles they produced last year. Since moving to NYC, I've never made it to the Brooklyn location, but has that stopped the monthly Moore Bros delivery? No. They have an efficient online ordering operation and a bewitching newsletter. Whoever writes their copy is a true artist & commercial genius, for unless I delete these emails immediately, my bank account is several hundred dollars lighter by the time I've finished reading the subject line. But nothing beats cracking open a new bottle from Moore Bros after the kids are in bed - I pour that wine into my stemless glass (#wecan'thavenicethings), take a few sips, and read the over-the-top tasting notes. For a few hours I do not feel boredom, I forget every trouble, I do not dread poverty, I am not frightened by death.

One of my favorite wine stores in the 5 boroughs. The workers there are super knowledgeable about the product and can really offer you a lot in terms of direction of what product to buy, and also with the education they provide to their customers. For every wine you buy they print out a cheat sheet of sorts to help your tasting or enjoying experience. I live about 30 min away and will always make the trip! (even though they do ship too!)

live in the area but don't know how to search a wine by grape or appellation on their site? shit outta luck... maybe you could ask someone in the store, you think... SOL on that too - they are closed entirely as a storefront, voluntarily

Attention pregnant ladies- if it is hot outside and you can't take it no more, this is the spot! I came in here late last spring when I was 9 months pregnant because it was super hot out and I was dying from the heat and I heard this place keeps it super cold inside. Stepped inside, and it was like heaven! They let me stand there and cool off and i was ever so grateful. Oh, and they sell good wine too.

Tis 2018 and for my first review of the year I find my thoughts turning to wine. Moore Brothers Wine Company is definitely a highlight of Industry City's current offerings. A bright, airy place full of dozens of wine options at all sorts of price points. Everybody here is friendly and willing to talk about wine in as much detail as you're willing to listen to - aka they do a good job of selling me on the product while also being aware of when my eyes are glazing over. Also I've never been steered wrong by them! A highlight being when I asked for a prosecco rec' under $30 for the occasion of 'we don't want to be in the office right now but we have to be.' Brothers Moore saved Christmas. Perhaps my favorite thing that they do is send out emails every week highlighting a wine they love, have in stock and is on sale. Sometimes it's a $17 bottle of malbec, other times it's a $55 bottle of something I aint ever heard of but it sounds good anyhow. There's little stories about how one of the Moore brothers discovered it and a bit about the winery and the history of the grapes... in a sea of over 150 promo emails I get every damn day, it's always a genuinely engaging and fun read. (And lets not lie, a big part of choosing wine is just the intrigue of the descriptions and stories behind it. If not the label art.) So keep up the good work guys, and thanks for making working in the deadzone of Sunset more tolerable.

They're racist and don't acknowledge black people. The store was empty and they never said hi or how can I help. It's 2022 and it's disgusting to see that there's still a long way to go with white business owners acknowledging black people when they patron their stores.

First time at Moore Brothers, was greeted immediately by Max who helped me select 2 amazing bottles of wine. The customer service and knowledge in this shop is top notch. A wide and interesting collection of carefully curated wines for all taste. Will be back here for sure. Thanks Max for the awesome suggestions.

I love coming to this store and ordering from it. They research their wines and search out small vintages from many places around the world. They transport the wines at perfect temperatures and keep them stored the same way. They offer tastings and if you can you should go to one. You'll learn something and try some wines you probably would not find anywhere else in NYC. They have two other locations in case you don't live in the city. One outside of Philadelphia and the other in Delaware. Well worth a visit if in the area of any of the three. Drink responsibly.

What wonderfully warm and knowledgeable proprietors. We stepped in on a weekend afternoon for a reprieve from the windy waterfront and to perhaps imbibe in some vine ripened proffering. Adrian is clearly an encyclopedia of wine wealth. We stood for 15 minutes as he engaged us in the nuances of locally sourced provincial Chardonnay and Italian Chianti. Any question (And I have Qs) I fired, Adrian was able to answer intelligibly with an anecdote. Needless to say, we went in for a taste and left with 2 bottles and happily offering my email to get into their wine class to commence next month. If every wine shop operates with kind and helpful winophiles and genuinely nice people, how could they not succeed? I will certainly be back for another tasting, well priced wine and more education from their spectacular staff.

Fantastic Wine shop in the industry city area. Always have specials on great wines and tastings often. If you're looking for anything specific they are sure to have something in the ballpark and the staff is extremely helpful with letting you taste and ask questions about their wines. They always offer info cards for the wines they sell and package them very nicely. So it's a great place to go if you're looking for a quick gift.

Great selection of wine! Terry helped me pick out a few bottles within my budget. Everyone at the party we hosted loved all the wine. Fine wine, amazing service, and fair prices! What more can you ask for?

I love ordering gifts of wine from Moore Brothers. I don't know much about wine, but with one phone call, I get excellent, friendly recommendations exactly in my price range, and I never feel judged for my lack of wine knowledge. AND they use beautiful, recyclable packaging that always gets the wine safely to its destination. Highly recommend this company for gift giving!

Moore Brothers sets the standards high for excellent customer service. Most people walk into a winery a bit timid, afraid that the pushy sales person will force them to buy the most expensive bottle of wine. Moore Brothers will never do that. They are knowledgable, cordial and polite. I had the pleasure of hosting a wine tasting event here and the staff were extremely knowledgable and accomodating. i will definitely return next year for another wine tasting and most definitely come here to buy some more wine in the near future!

Super helpful and very knowledgeable, I came in after passing it for some time and I was happy I did. I left with a bottle of Italian Rose and Prosecco! Will definitely return, ask the staff for their picks or if your deciding between 2 wines!

The guys here are so nice and they make excellent recommendations! I love the fabre malbec (attaching photo). They also deliver!! One guy delivered a bottle to me as they were closing. Awe.... The malbec (above) is smooth with a spicy flavor, hint of berry. Hit the spot for 15 buckaroos. Not bad for a nice bottle like this.

This is on my short list of 'places I don't mind giving my money to.' It's really a gem. I'm lucky enough to live in the area, but it would be worth making a special trip even if I didn't.

Came in cold during my tour of Industry City. Just based on my visit, I have to say that this place strikes the right balance between sophisticated and accessible. I was directed to the wine tasting table at the back of the store, and the sommelier (?) was friendly and informative in his breakdown of each of the wines. I have to admit that I'm still a novice at wine-tasting and at understanding all of the variables behind wine-making, but I felt very much at ease with the sommelier and appreciated the conversational atmosphere of the experience. I bought a bottle of the Beaumes-de-Venise Grangeneuve Domaine Saint Amant after a few sips...it really was unlike any other wine I've tasted before.

Wow! I came here for the first time, on the advice of friends. Great selection, knowledgeable staff, friendly, and quick to make recommendations that worked with my limited budget. It was easily the most pleasurable wine store experience I've had to date.

I wanted to love this place because Industry City is amazing. But, as soon as I walked into the store I wasn't acknowledged at all. I was the only customer in the store at the time surrounded by 4 employees. And yet, I felt like I wasn't welcome. The reason why I went in there was to purchase a wine to take home with me. But their lack of help and cold stares left a bad taste in my mouth. Hopefully they will work on their customer service so that other customers would not feel the way that I felt.

Recommended for: Premium wines, libation, tastings, oenophiles. Service 5, Selection 3, Quality 5. Wine stores are a dime a dozen in NY, and it takes a lot to "wow" a person. Sure you can go around the corner for convenience and pick up a basic bottle, but if you desire an experience, great selection and knowledgeable staff, then Moore Brothers should be on your list of places to see. I came here for a wine tasting recently. They do not do them often, but when they do, it is quite an experience. Unlike other places that have tastings where you are in the front of the store or browsing and trying not to nock over bottles, Moore has a specific tasting section in the upper level of their store. This entire floor is for entertaining and they do a very good job at it. There is a coat room, a table of cheese especially like the maps of Italy, France and Germany where they showcase the different wineries and regions - very educational and I do consider myself an oenophile of sorts. At the tastings they actually have someone from the vineyard there, explaining some of the wines, the process and their own personal commentary. I found this to be really great addition to the tasting, and recommend others do this as well. The staff at Moore Brothers was equally knowledgeable and helpful in describing and discussing the wines they were pouring. Downstairs is a large selection of wines, well laid out in a modern design and decor. As Daniel M said, they are wine importers and only carry wines which they deal with. While this limits the selection, the quality can to an extent be assured. I like how the inside of the store is kept very cool to keep all of their wines in good order. This doesn't mean that you need a jacket when visiting, but it could be a bit nippy which I actually like. MB cares not only about their wines, but also their customers and in that regard, they are a top-notch supplier that's definitely won this guys heart, or at least my taste buds and liver. Everyone that works here is super friendly and knowledge. They have free tasting everyday. The selection is great and everything about the store makes you want to buy more wine!

Moore Brothers, set in that dreamy Flatiron I'll never afford, is sharp - and I mean sharp. "This is wine for yuppies," announce the sparsely elegant entryway, the neat and ample shelves of pricey potables, the savvy oenologists, the giant, glistening iMac. . . . . .I retreat, making a mental note to return when I stop pirating music / shopping on Canal Street.

Fantastic wine store. The staff are wonderfully knowledgeably and eager to help you find the perfect bottle of wine in almost any price range. The vintners of every wine they carry has actually visited the store! I thought that was a very cool and personal touch. :) The last time I was here I walked out with a fabulous German Riesling. Delicious and easy on the wallet too. Definitely recommended - it's a great store.

My favorite wine shop! I wish I lived closer to this store, but I guess it's a blessing I only get here about once a month, because my wallet would be missing its money. I love this place because it carries small, unknown producers of serious quality wine....mainly stocking old world wine. This is not your big mass brands store, so if that's what you like, this place is not for you. The sales staff is very knowledgeable and friendly and they don't look down on you if you don't want to spend a lot on a bottle. In fact, they carry my favorite rose from Italy for all of $15 - steal! They introduced me to some delicious dry rieslings, which is now my favorite white wine. Their burgundy selection is excellent and I've also been recommended some off beat Italian and German wines...amazing! Also a great place to visit in the summer on a hot and steamy day, as the temp inside is always a wine friendly 56 degrees! So, if you're looking for unique old world vino, Moore Brothers is a must stop!

These people are the best of the best! Went in there randomly one day and was given a free wine testing when Industry City first opened, the workers gave us the best recommendations for our taste type. Every time we've gone there, we went home with a new favorite wine. I recently ordered some bottles online, and it was delivered to our home within 24 hours of the order. You'd be dumb not to check this shop out!

Not your run of the mill wine shop here. One clink of a wine glass: for sourcing small producers here and so you're browsing from a very select collection of wine. The wines skew heavily European with an emphasis of France. Not a problem for me as French wine is my preferred wine producing country. Another clink for the temperature controlled store and clean, attractive space that keeps all the wine at optimal temp and humidity. A third clink for very knowledgeable, approachable staff. Not sure if the sales staff and buyers are the same people, but everyone seems to know the wines extremely well. A fourth clink to superb tastings with delicious spreads of cured meats and cheeses. Wish they didn't get so crowded in the upstairs room, but who wouldn't want to partake? A fifth to overall setting the bar and differentiating itself from the competition in an increasingly crowded wine marketplace. Moore Bros. received the top rating for wine stores in the 2008 Zagat marketplace guide and they deserve it!

This place is the tits. I googled a wine store close to where I had a meeting, and it was raining so I didn't feel like walking to Eataly wines (thank you). I was on a mission for a san giovese wine and was directed to two bottles (red and rose) that were excellent. Both bottles came to a grand total of $40. They only stock wines directly from the winery, and the wines were excellent. Staff was so helpful and knowledgeable in the way that doesn't make you feel like an idiot. I would post a picture, but I drank all the wine already, and empty glass pictures are gouche.

I went to a wine tasting here and although I am no wine connoisseur, I learned a lot and tasted some affordable and some not so affordable wines. The best part of the wine tasting though was the Moore Brothers themselves. One did red wine and one did white and they might be some of the most adorable men on earth! They choose wines from local families they have met and spoken with all over the globe and can give you the entire history of the grapes the wine is made from. They also cater to non profits! And working at a nonprofit myself I love to know that 5% of my purchase goes to a charity. If I wasn't already married....

There is really no better wine shop in the city...actually i dont think i've been to a wine shop anywhere (except maybe that one in the 5th in Paris...but that's a concorde flight away just for a bottle of wine), but the guys at Moore Brothers are SO dedicated and excited about the products they receive that you will be assured to find something that fits your tastes. I've tried other wine shops that are billed as excellent by "Z" "OTHER" review books and such...but keep coming back to Moore Brothers. They get me, they get my tastes, and i'm sure the same will be for you. If you get a case, there is a discount and they'll deliver for free!

Great experience, the wine tastings here are a must try. You must know going in, that they specialize in Old World wine, you won't see many California's here. They have a limited selection, but they have a relationship with each vineyard they carry and import the wines themselves. They are extremely knowledgable and have no problem assisting anyone from an expert, to a newbie. And now the most important part, their tastings. You can sign up to be notified when they will be having their next tasting, which is not just a few bottles of wine by the register. They have an entire upstairs dedicated to these evenings, and they taste around 6 wines each time. You can drink glass after glass while listening to the owners tell stories of each of the winemakers, from high level wine lingo, to what was paired for lunch with each wine on his last visit. A great experience, and entirely free, no pressure to buy... although you'll want to continue to support such a well run business.

Dudes! Sales person more interested in correction of The Dude's choice of words instead of answering question. e.g. por ejemplo We asked about a label. Apparently they don't carry labels. So, like...What's that piece of paper on the bottle? See my point? Come on man !

All i can say is WOW! The staff is knowledgable and friendly I must admit i don't know much about wine :-) i asked a ton of questions and my sale person was exceptional

Moore Brothers is one of my favorite wine stores. Not only is it fantastic in its dedication to educating its customers about wines and ensuring they leave with a fantastic bottle, it's also doing its part to support artisan winegrowers in France, Italy, and Germany, building personal relationships with the growers and taking exceptionally good care of the wines they sell. I also LOVE that they are committed to supporting the community in which they reside. I'm on committees for several not-for-profit organizations in New York and Moore Brothers has been extremely supportive in contributing to our efforts as we work to make the world a better place. It's wonderful to know there are places like this that aren't all about making money, but recognize the needs of those around them and give back.

Been going here for years. This is my GO TO wine store in NYC. Great deals.. great, great wines. I can not say enough good things about their staff, their tastings, their knowledge and their product. Very, very impressed by everything they steered me to. I have NEVER, never, in over two years had nothing but a 'WOW' from anything I have bought here. My price point has not been that high either. I'll spend north of $75 for a champagne every once in a while. But generally I keep the price in the $20 to $30 range. Sometimes they have great specials in the less than $20 range. All from small growers. No additives or preservatives in any of their stock! YOU WILL NOT BE LET DOWN HERE. Yes, some of their stuff is pricey.., but worth it. If what they initially show you is north of what you want to spend.., tell them and they will set you up with something very comparable and in your range. Guaranteed!

So happy to have found this wine shop in Industry City. They specialize in small batch wineries producing excellent wines. They carry a very well curated selection. This is our second time at the store. The first time was about two months ago when we were shopping nearby. We didn't purchase anything the first time but got on their mailing list. The staff is very approachable and super knowledgeable about the wines they carry. The price points are great for the quality. Since we've been on the mailing list, we have been getting emails on what's new and any specials. Through the descriptive emails, we have found a handful of wines we were interested in. Today we stopped in to pick up all our wine. There was a new wine on their mailing list we were interested in and they opened a bottle for us to taste. We walked away with a case of it and another case of mixed reds. When we got home there was a printout with well detailed notes on each wine, the wine region, producer and history, as well as pairing tips. This is good service!!! We will certainly be back!! Super excited to crack open these wines over the holidays with family and friends!

Wow, this service here is exceptional! I was in and out with a lovely champagne in less than five minutes! I came in on my way to a friends birthday in a rush and I had a fantastic experience. The two workers who helped me both had french accents, and I was expecting them to be stuck up or look down on my limited wine/champagne knowledge. (I frequent Trader Joes for my wine supply! lol) They were actually incredibly helpful, friendly and helped me out quickly so that I wouldn't be late to the party! I told them off the bat I was looking to spend around $40-$50. I was expecting for them to try to up-sell me or suggest something on the high end of that spectrum. Instead, they selected a $25 bottle for me and told me why it was the best under $50. They saved me $25 bucks, the champagne was delicious and my friend loved it! They even put it in a really nice gift bag for free and printed up notes on the wine and what it pairs best with. Great customer service :)

They have a great selection here. We wondered in during a weekend and were offered a tasting of a few different selections. We got great advice and ended up buying a case.

Moore Bros. Is one of the best wine shops in Manhattan. The key to their success is: 1) hand picked wines from small producers with whom they create a personal relationship. 2) control of the distribution. The wines are temperature controlled from the producer to the store. And the store is also kept at a chilly 50-something degrees. 3) knowledgeable and helpful staff 4) a passion for wine. I know everybody that works at a wine shop or wine bar has a "passion" for wine, but just go to one of their open tastings and talk to the Moore brothers, themselves, and you'll see what I mean. We have rarely been disappointed with the wines we take home from there (on the order of less than 5% of the time) and some of the best wines we've tasted have come from this shop. The best!

Great wine store but since I'm not usually in the area I've only been here for the wine tasting events they host upstairs for a charity organization. They're a very generous host and their selection is excellent.

Wonderful staff - they are very knowledgable and (most importantly) eager to share their expertise. I attended a wine tasting event here and had a marvelous time. The selection is high end, but they will definitely help you find something you like at any price range. Definitely one of the crispest, cleanest wine stores I've ever been to. They keep it cool in there, everything is neatly lined up and organized... very impressive!

OMG the staff here is the friendliest bunch of people in Manhattan. Seriously, they can't be New Yorkers - they're so damn nice! I love them. I did some xmas shopping here and they made the process soooo easy, especially considering that I'm a wine novice. -1 star because they tend to carry lesser-known, obscure (though I'm sure fantastic) wines. If you're looking for anything from Napa, you won't find it here.

Moore Brothers is hands down the best wine shop we've found in the city! The team there is always willing and ready to help with selections whether it's one bottle for a casual night in or a case for a dinner party. Their wines are all hand picked from small vineyards, the store is temperature conrolled, and their passion for wine is contagious. Even better is the fact that they deliver and their prices are very reasonable for their every day wines. We highly recommend the Domaine Rogers Sancere!

Really nice guys! I was in a hurry so I walked in and told them what I wanted and my price point and they took me straight to the perfect bottle! In and out in under 5 minutes and on my way to dinner. The sheer amount of stock though, means I'll definitely be back to browse when I have more time!

This is the best wine store in NYC. I will challenge anyone who disagrees to a glove slap duel. The purveyors have personal relationships with the growers and vintners, have visited most, if not all, of the grapes that go in to the wines. They have an expertise in enology but are never condescending about it. I love wine but do not know everything about it, so when I go in (back before covid) and ask questions about a bottle or a grape I get a full answer that helps me better understand wine and winemaking. Pre-covid they had tastings in the store of their specials that week, always with a thoughtful, 1-page sheet on the grape, the vineyard, and the wine notes. Their newsletters are much the same - thoughtful, always tell a story about the wine, show a good photo of it in the glass at their personal dinner table so you know they are drinking the wine they are recommending. They also use these newsletters to inform about the discounted wines that week. I have never had a disappointing wine from this place, and I have been shopping for years. When I was tasked with sending holiday gifts to hundreds of important clients at my previous job, I called up Moore Brothers, asked for a recommendation, then bought multiple cases of a glorious chateauneuf du pape. They even helped me with the shipping (where it was allowed of course). This is a big city store with a small-town approach to its customers. I just got a car (in part because of the pandemic) and my first thought was "now it will be easier to get to industry city to get wine from Moore Brothers."

This store is still owned and run by doofasses who only want 20 and 30 year old customers that appear to the owners like they are affluent and not really knowledgable about wine. They suck.

this is an AMAZING wine store not just for the area but just in general. they are 'limited' in the sense that most of their wines are French or Italian, with a wee bit of some other old world countries, but just fantastic. Staff are knowledgeable and helpful, daily tastings, and when you buy a bottle of wine they give you a little printout that tells you about the wine... just all in all amazing. I will still go to other wine stores when I'm scoping out other parts of the world but for the regions they carry I find Moore Brothers hard to beat.

Their staff is what really does it for me....liquor wise of course. Good selection of wines but I found better deals at Warehouse Wines. woot woot.
