Best ice cream ever! Thick and creamy. I got a moopie with birthday cake ice cream and cookie dough mix in. For the cookies we did snickerdoodle and Cookie Monster. Both were good. But it was a lot so we shared one moopie! There is a reason the line wraps outside the building. But as long as the line is, the wait is minimal and the staff is fast, friendly and efficient!

Such. Good. Ice cream! If you are coming to Coronado and have a sweet tooth, MooTime needs to be on your list. It's in a great location with tons of shops and areas to walk around to. They only have outdoor seating but there is a lot of tables available. Don't be surprised when you see a line out the door, it goes quick! The menu is huge with a ton of great flavors and toppings to pick from! They have a lot of creative, unique flavors you wouldn't find in other places. Silly Vanilly was a hit for the kids and very good. I got a Peanut Butter milkshake and it was amazing! We will absolutely be back. Such a cool, old-school creamery vibe here. The staff was excellent and the ice cream is 100% worth stopping for!

Google
Very tasty ice cream and various flavors of milkshakes are all options to choose from. Only downside is the extreme difficulty to find a parking spot. All street parking is taken of course. The place is in the heart of the area.

Google
Service was quick and friendly, even though they line extended pretty far out the door on a Saturday evening I usually go for a milkshake, which I did on my second visit, however, I had to go with one of the signature sundae options to start woth. We'll worth it and highly recommend for a sweet treat

A fun little stop for ice cream in Coronado! The funky, retro diner style exterior adds to the charm, and the ice cream itself hits the spot. 🍦🍧🍦

Google
My last stop while visiting Coronado was for ice cream. I had two scoops on a waffle cone—chocolate and butter pecan. It was really good. Glad I stopped. Lots of fun things going on here. Will definitely get a banana split the next time I come to San Diego. Thank you

JJ

Google
You can smell them making fresh waffle cones from a block away. Lots of flavors and toppings to choose from. Loved the Ube coconut ice cream flavor! Employees were nice and friendly too.

Google
I ordered the Chipped Mint, the worst synthetic mint flavor I have ever tasted! Like essential cooking oil. Comparing to store bought Thrifty and Dryers...instantly got sick. Regular vanilla with chopped Andy's Mints wound have been better. The pic of cone is how much I ate before I tossed. I don't like to throw food away but I am truly sick in bed writing this right now. Also, 1 scoop looks like 3 scoops. I liked the theme, even bought 2 shirts...this was all before 10 licks of the mint ice cream. Also, it is very Cold Stone'ish...thick like....not my jam to begin with. Staff friendly, line moved fast, appeared clean. I gotta give 1 star. I don't wanna but it was instant stomach pain (I'm not lactose). *and my partner wanted me to add - her Medium tiedye shirt feels like a large and my Blk shirt feels like Medium lol

Yelp
Fantastic ice cream! I don't particularly enjoy ice cream, but they have wonderful flavors and a delicious ice cream base. I was very impressed with their variety and different flavor options compared to most other ice cream parlors/stores. Don't be hesitant with their line as it moves quickly! Really easy to order and then your ice cream is served to you within minutes. My husband and I decided to try the flight of 6 different ice creams. In their display it looked small and a great way to try multiple flavors. They really packed in the ice cream so we essentially had 6 full scoops of ice cream. Great to share with someone! We tried their august flavor (lemon blueberry), butter pecan, Nutella banana, chipped mint, brownie batter, and toasted coconut. I will say the lemon blueberry was a stark difference from in flavor compared to our selection so it did not blend well, but it would have been great on its own! I really did love the butter pecan, chipped mint, and brownie batter the most. The butter pecan and chipped mint are usually my top flavor choices anyways so this was no surprise. I was honestly impressed with the brownie batter though. So good! I enjoyed the Nutella banana and the toasted coconut but my husband loved them. They were his top along with the brownie batter. We also order a Ube cookie on the side and it was so soft and delicious! Would go here for that cookie alone. Such a fun stop in Coronado.

Yelp
Every tourist spot has an ice cream spot that will say something like "proudly serving [city] since 1985 and you wonder if it's good or just good enough to hang around because who wouldn't want ice cream in Coronado. We'll believe you me that MooTime is incredible. The servings are ginormous and the waffle cone doesn't cost extra. You'll probably encounter a line, that's ok, it moves quick enough and being in line will prevent you from dropping $200 at the nearest hat store. The flavor selection has excellent variety and the creaminess of the ice cream is spot on. Big fan of MooTime. It's on my Mt. Rushmore of San Diego ice cream shops.

Yelp
MooTime!! A coronado/san diego legend! Everyone knows about it. There's always a line haha. But it is so worth it. Waffle cones are the same price as a cup (amazing) and if you get the waffle cone, it is an insane amount of ice cream for the small mini moo size. We usually do one "mix in" which is really good. And they give out pup cups for our dog! Everyone is always super nice, even when they're super busy. We probably go here every other week. Lots of flavors/mix ins. Love this place!

Yelp
I called in advance to make sure the Vanilla ice cream had no egg in it as my son as an egg allergy. The gal on the phone told us it did not have any egg so we decided to go to MooTime. I was so excited. When we arrived we places our order and I told the gal at the register thank you to who ever answered my call and she said it was her. When our orders where being prepared I noticed mine and my husbands came out rather quickly but not my sons vanilla ice cream. The person who prepared it came over to us after and told me that she was pretty sure the Vanilla had egg in it and offered us a vegan option. I'm sad that staff was not properly trained but I am thankful to that employee who looked out for my family. Allergies are no joke and they should be taken seriously.

Yelp
This place is super cute and has a great aesthetic going for it. The ice cream and cookies are good and come in a variety of flavors. Unfortunately, most of the staff were low energy which took away from the typical exciting ice cream experience. They also don't offer samples unfortunately. Overall, this place is the type of place that you go to for the retro 50's feel.

Yelp
Had the most indulgent treat in Coronado here! We came after lunch on a Sunday in June and enjoyed 2 scoops (Brookie and raspberry chunk) on a dipped waffle cone, and a mini Miah O'my sundae. Little did we know the portion sizes would be so big! The Miah O'my sundae was absolutely everything a peanut butter lover could want. Every bite was utter perfection and rich in peanut butter and chocolate. My only gripe is that they didn't have water available for patrons. That would've been a nice touch.

Yelp
We saw this place on social media and saw the GIANT portion sizes. It did not disappoint! Be aware that parking is difficult, we parked at a nearby neighborhood. The ice cream spot had cute and vibrant decor all around. They let you sample 2 flavors per person. We ended up getting the Little Moo (which was not so little at all) with Cherry Vanilla and Chipped Pomegranate flavors. This was less than $10, great bang for your buck! Ice cream was thick, not too sweet, but we wish there was more flavor. Love how the Cherry Vanilla had actual large pieces of cherry in it! There's no space to sit indoors, so we ate outside and enjoyed the sunny day. Overall, we would gladly come back to try their other flavors.
google avatar

Heather M.

Yelp
We waited in line with lots of other admirers in order to sample the ice cream at this cute, little 50s style ice cream parlor and were not disappointed. We enjoyed the sampler of 6 scoops: cinnamon, strawberry, stracciatella, caramel, double dark chocolate, and peanut butter. The pb was my favorite, but all of them had excellent flavor.

Yelp
Walked by this place around dinner time and it was packed. There was a line out the door. We came back the following day during lunch and were able to walk in and really experience what they had to offer without the crowd. There are lots of flavors. We ended up choosing the Cookie Monster, brownie batter, and cheesecake. I was a little skeptical with the blue ice cream, but that didn't deter from the flavors for vanilla ice cream. I'm happy I was able to combine Oreo and cookie dough into one scoop! They offered us a waffle cone because they are known as "home of the free waffle cone" the cones were just made! So fresh and warm. Loved the old time feel the place offered.
google avatar

Yelp
This is one of my favorite ice cream spots in San Diego! There will likely be a line out the door. There are so many flavors and sundaes to choose from. I usually get the Cookie Monster Shake. It is full of yummy flavor and it is creamy. Refreshing for a summer day at the beach. I will say the menu is pricy but I do think it's worth it! There's not really space to sit there so I'd plan to grab it and eat it at the beach! I love the cow statue out front too! It's cute for pics.
google avatar

Yelp
Cheesecake flavor! We drive over the bridge periodically just to get this. It is so good. They have ice cream cake in this flavor too. Waffle cone was still warm and crispy.

Yelp
MooTime will satisfy your sweet tooth with a generous serving size and classic flavors. Like Coldstone, you can mix in toppings with your ice cream for an added layer of customisation. The staff was quick and courteous in allowing customers to sample ice cream flavors before ordering. I got a chipped mint (mint chocolate chip) with cookie dough add-in. I severely underestimated the serving size for the mini moo and could not finish half of it even with my partner helping me. I definitely will ask for the Kiddie Moo size next time, despite the menu stating it is only for those 12 and under. In terms of the ice cream, I prefer smaller chunks of chocolate and a stronger mint aromatic flavor, thus would rate the taste as 3/5, generous portions being 5/5, averaging to 4/5. There was seating available outside so we were able to enjoy our desserts at the creamery, albeit a bit cold due to it being almost 9:00pm and no outside heaters available nearby. If you are looking for conventional ice cream flavors with options for sundays, shakes, ice cream cookies, brownies, and tacos, this place might be for you.

Yelp
After a long day on Coronado Beach we wanted some refreshing ice cream and this place was delicious. They had a lot of flavors to choose from, my favorites were the Bananna Nutella and the Peanut Butter. Those two together were a great pair! My daughter really liked the birthday cake because it had sprinkles and my husband enjoyed their monthly special, the Slam Diego. Everyone was very kind and helpful, and it was a fun theme.

Yelp
After dinner, my friends wanted to check out the Christmas lights in December at Coronado. We decided to grab ice cream after all the festivities. One of my friends recommended this place as it was an iconic spot in Coronado. It's located in between some boutique shops with an iconic drive-thru diner shop sign and a life size Elvis Presley(?) replica on Orange Ave in Coronado. There are a lot of free street parking around the area that could be difficult to find during dinner and weekend rush hours. My boyfriend and I got their Mini Moo size of their seasonal ice cream on the very last day (bad idea) - Cinnamon Toast to Fall. The description mentioned that it was a pumpkin spice flavor which I'm always a sucker for. So I immediately wanted it even though the sample I got was just meh. There was no pumpkin spice flavor at all! Honestly should have chose another flavor LOL. The main reason was not because of the lack of pumpkin flavor (maybe part of it), but because of the cereal. There was Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal in it, and they were all stale! What a disappointment. I can see why as that night we went was the very last day for it. Another reason for the star bump was that I had to fight against the ice cream because it was so difficult to grab a bite as it was so hard LOL. This shows that the ice cream was either froze excessively due to it being a seasonal flavor or that's was just this ice cream shop's style. I think the only great thing was the huge portion of ice cream as the mini moo was quite big! I think I need to give this shop another go as this was one of my friend's favorite places down in Coronado. Maybe the flavor I chose was just overall not the best and could be better with other flavors.

Yelp
HUGE SCOOPS!! After walking the beach, some ice cream was well deserved. I decided on a Flying Cookie with Cookie Monstah and Nutella Banana. I throughly enjoyed both ice cream flavors. The scoops were as big as an adult fist making the sundaes well worth the price. Overall, if you're in the area and want ice cream, it's a must try.
google avatar

Yelp
Moo Time is a must-visit in Coronado! The homemade ice cream is top-notch. Our kids were on the hunt for blue ice cream, and the moment they spotted Silly Vanilli--a vibrant blue twist on classic vanilla--they were over the moon (no pun intended). Pure joy in a cup. I went for the mint chocolate chip, and it did not disappoint--creamy, fresh, with just the right balance of mint and chocolate. My wife had the butter pecan with chocolate sauce, and every bite was dreamy. Great atmosphere, super fun location, and a perfect family stop. Five stars all around.
google avatar

Kayla B.

Yelp
Huge portions for a good price! Ice cream was so delicious and so were the cookies. Customer service was great. Staff was super friendly and let us try samples of the ice cream since it was our first time and had what to order. They have so many options. They also have outdoor seating so you can sit and enjoy. Will definitely be coming back soon!
google avatar

Dj M.

Yelp
I love the flight option! We ordered peanut butter, mango, coffee, cherry vanilla, pomegranate chip, and butter pecan. My favorites were the cherry vanilla and pomegranate chip. The butter pecan I couldn't really taste the flavor. We also got their ice cream taco which you can grab from their fridge section. The shell is soft because it's been sitting, probably wouldn't get that again but it's a cute idea. The inside is small and customers loop in a line. There's some seating outdoors and along the side of the building. A good ice cream spot.
google avatar

Katherine T.

Yelp
Ice cream was okay. Pretty basic. There are interesting flavors, but there aren't additional add-ins to make the texture more cohesive
google avatar

Yelp
FIRST TIME LETS GO!! When in Rome is the phrase, in this case when in Del Mar! MooTime Creamery is one of those spots that if you have guest from out of town and want to show them a poppin spot with so many ice cream selections you won't be able to breathe, then you bring them here. It's the oh yeah while we are here in Del Mar I know this cool spot for ice cream! (Elvis is there) Me and my wife are not big fans of ice cream but the flavor choices they have make it a place were there is a flavor for anyone! They one extra points with me because they sell the OG BonBons (not dibs ) for all you millennials. WE LOVE MOOTIME!
google avatar

Peyton G.

Yelp
The variety of flavors was great. They had many different sundaes and options to choose from.
google avatar

Fernanda M.

Yelp
Customer service is amazing! All the girls working tonight were so nice, helpful and generous with the servings. The ice cream is very good and creamy. Everything is very visible, nice atmosphere and a dinner vibe.

Yelp
Went to MooTime which I've heard about for years. It is New Years Day so a busy day in Coronado. The place was busy. There was only one employee working when we were there. He was absolutely great. He had a great attitude and kept the line moving. We ordered a shake(lots of ice cream in that thing), two small bowls - the scoops were generous, and two sundaes. The one pictured is the chocolate peanut butter sundae. This was the large size for $11.50. Two of us shared it and we had a bit left over. Overall, great ice cream, great service, places to sit. It was a fun place with a nice vibe. We took a photo w Elvis and the cow. I highly recommend. I'll be back.
google avatar

Yelp
Normally we love coming to Moo Time on Coronado Island. We stopped by today (6/9) at about 11:25 am- they had a sign with marker that said opening at 11:30. We figured we'd wait the 5 mins even though their posted hours say 11am, a young woman came out with a milk shake and took a picture, so we thought they were open. When we tried to go in they said they were still closed and would be for another 15 minutes. Honestly, super disappointing and you've lost a customer. Maybe not a big deal but it would have been 4 orders from our family right away but now I don't think we'll be making MooTime a stop on future visits.
google avatar

Kaitlyn A.

Yelp
The place is pretty good and I enjoyed most of their ice cream. The portions were pretty big, so you could definitely share with others. I split the ice cream flight, which was nice because I got to try a lot of different ones. My favorite was the strawberry followed closely by the black raspberry chunk. The Mango sorbet was okay. I also ordered a mini sundae (still a big portion) and the strawberries I added in had a little of a sour taste, so I didn't really eat much of it. I loved that all the ice cream I tried was really creamy. I would say the service here is meh. We didn't get a very welcoming vibe from one of the staff. We wanted to sit outside but the one staff member said we couldn't cause they already put up the chairs (there was over an hour left of them being open).

Yelp
CREAMY DELICIOUSNESS (4.5 stars) - ICE CREAM: good - CONE: no drippy butt - PRICE: affordable - AMBIANCE: grab and go (sit outside) The better of the batch of ice cream shops on Coronado. Very popular, lots of flavors, good portion to price, and service is quick! NUTELLA BANANA (~$5) - "kiddie moo" scoop on a small waffle cone. Their serving size for that price makes the visit worth it. I'm so glad I chose this flavor on the fly, it was everything I was craving for. Nice blend of Nutella and Banana flavor with harden Nutella chunks for texture that melt in your palate. The dome of my ice cream was a bit excessive but it was manageable before some dripping from the side action occurred. No hole at the bottom of the cone so no drippy butt action. The cone was average, not too thick kind of thin but not brittle. HIGHLY RECOMMEND JABA APPROVED. Until the next review...
google avatar

J K.

Yelp
I've been to a lot of ice cream shops in my life, but MooTime is clearly one of the best. Their wide variety of flavors and treats, massive waffle cones, and overall vibe all make it a place that is super easy to come back to time and time again. The pomegranate chip flavor is my absolute favorite flavor of ice cream I've ever had, and I highly recommend anyone try it if it's there. There will usually be a decent line to get in, but the service is always very fast.
google avatar

Angelica A.

Yelp
My husband and I came here on a stroll and we decided to try this spot around 8pm. They were giving out donuts from the shop Right next door. Ice cream was delicious and the donuts were great too! Service was great! The decor of the shop is super cool, and retro. We will most definitely be back.
google avatar

Diego R.

Yelp
My son has an egg allergy and the only reason we came was because my wife called ahead of time and spoke with a manager stating that there ice cream does not contain eggs . When we got to the creamery, we again told the cashier we had a son with an egg allergy and wanted to confirm that the vanilla ice cream does not contain eggs , she said it doesn't . Then we paid and get my ice cream my wife's ice cream but my sons is taking longer than expected , the lady making the ice cream takes her gloves off and starts talking with another employee , then comes to us and says all our ice cream contains egg, we told her we spoke to the lady at the cashier and she told us it didn't , long story short , please avoid this place , they don't seem to know what ingredients their items contain , which is kinda scary .
google avatar

Brianne N.

Yelp
Seemed a little expensive at first, but after we got our ice cream. I have to say it's a good deal. One generous scoop with a waffle cone included? Thank you, I'll be back. The place has a cool vintage vibe and tables out front to sit at.
google avatar

Hailie H.

Yelp
Second time stopping by to grab dessert at this shop and it was consistently the same as the first time. Service was great and the staff is always smiling and ready to take your order. I've tried many flavors here like mint chip, toasted coconut and peanut butter which were all tasty. The shop inside is pretty cool and seems like an old school diner. Every time I'm in town I know where we are getting dessert at Moo time!
google avatar

Claire S.

Yelp
My sister took me to MooTime in Coronado after dinner, and it definitely lived up to the hype. I love retro ice cream places like this that have their own unique brand. You know it's good when there's always a line and happy patrons enjoying their ice cream. The birthday cake ice cream was the best I've ever had, and I'm picky! It tastes just like cake batter and icing--amazing! Next, I tried the Cookie Monster flavor. Wow, the real cookie chunks were delicious. I also usually get a tummy ache from ice cream, and so does my sister, but neither of us did this time. We didn't feel heavy afterward either! Shoutout to the nice girl who served us and gave us extra big scoops! Such friendly staff--definitely a must-visit!
google avatar

Rina H.

Yelp
The ice cream here is super creamy. We got the sampler which comes with 6 generous tastings for around $11. They have tons of flavor options but I especially loved the coffee (not super sweet) and the brownie batter (very chocolatey with that brownie batter texture). Service was friendly but maybe a little slow - so probably not the best place if you're in a rush :) they have a few tables out front but we decided to walk over and eat our ice cream with the sunset view.
google avatar

Magda G.

Yelp
Located on the strip. Cute spot with a diner feel. It was perfect after being on the beach with the kids. They had a variety of ice cream, soda pop, and treats like cookies and donuts. I got the sundae with 3 flavors, brownie batter, coffee and banana Nutella. It was covered with fudge, nuts, whip cream and 3 cherries. It was perfect! The service was great, the made sure the line got down quick by helping each other with customer. We had a large order and they on it! I recommend this spot!
google avatar

Nyssa B.

Yelp
You always gotta save room for dessert... It's the cutest little retro ice cream shop, with friendly staff. You can definitely tell how good of quality the ice cream is here. The hardest decision to make is what flavor you're gonna choose! *always get some samples to help you out* My favorite will always be the Cookie Monster!
google avatar

Michelle K.

Yelp
This classic ice cream shoppe is definitely a sweet treat! They have so many fun ice cream flavors and options, include ice cream sandwiches, tacos, sundaes and milkshakes. The flavors are rich and creamy. We got the Cookie Monster which wasn't overwhelmingly sweet or falsely dyed (like some other stores cookie monsters). The mini moo is only one scoop but a hefty scoop and more than enough for the average ice cream consumer, in my opinion! There were also had mini bite size donuts for free that were equally delicious.
google avatar

Amanda B.

Yelp
On vacation in San Diego & this place came highly recommended. It did not disappoint! The employees are friendly and eager to please. We originally were going to try the flight (6 flavors), but decided to each get a mini moo (1 scoop) each. I got the Cookie Monster, which was incredible, and my sister got the flavor of the day: coffee & donuts. Loved that there was ample seating directly outside the place & along the side.
google avatar

Eric J.

Yelp
This place was nasty. The flavors and the ice cream were not natural. The fudge flavor was not natural. I got a sundae with peanut butter Skippy peanut butter actually and we barely ate any of it. Service is OK they're friendly. The ambiance was fun a fun environment for kids. Other than that, I don't recommend this place.
google avatar

Chris S.

Yelp
If you're on Coronado, check this place out. We hadn't visited on a few prior occasions because it was simply too busy, which to me is usually a good sign. However, Tuesday morning proved the perfect time to finally check this place out. Service was quick and friendly and the ice cream itself was yummy. Definitely happy with the value and would happily visit again if I find myself on Coronado.
google avatar

Amanda P.

Yelp
We stopped here after our anniversary dinner at the Henry, just steps away from it. The quality of the ice cream was soooo good!
google avatar

Bella T.

Yelp
Came here on a sunday afternoon and there was a bit of a line out the door but it went by quick! They have an insane amount of flavors and add on's, so many i wanted to try. I got a "little" sunday which is the perfect size as it was so sweet! I got the cookie dough flavor which was vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, hot fudge, cookie dough. It was delicious. They also have shakes and smoothies, as well as some donuts if available. The inside is small but there is some seating outside to enjoy your ice cream or you can walk across the street to the beach and have it there! Great Location. Will be back when I'm in the area!
google avatar

Hannah H.

Yelp
Loved the selection. The ice cream was fantastic. The banana Nutella ice cream was so fresh. The staff were fast and I will definitely be back for my next vacation.
google avatar

Dominique S.

Yelp
Delicious ice cream for a reasonable price! Also, the vibes were awesome and nostalgic. The staff were very friendly too :) we'll be back!

Everleigh N.

Yelp
Moo time is the best ice cream place I've ever been too you have to go here it has so many flavors and you can dip your cones in yummy goodness they had chunks of cookie dough that were delishish you have to go here
google avatar

Francesca V.

Yelp
Stopped by for a small scoop of ice cream and was drawn in by the fun diner and cow decor. I ordered the straciatella - different than what I was expecting... but it was very good! I stopped by less than 15 minutes before closing and the staff were very friendly and let me take home some mini donuts for free. Made my night, so thank you!

Hadley N.

Yelp
The ice cream was phenomenal! They have different varieties of flavors, with all different add ons. If you are in cal you definitely need to go!!

Roxanne A.

Yelp
Really good! Cookie monstah was sooo yummy - huge chunks of cookie dough! Really good service and pretty good price for the fancy area

Yelp
I Don't really Like Ice cream but this is The creamiest most delicious ice cream I've ever had! The peanut butter cookie dough was to die for! A must have, if you go to Coronado, we will be back!
