If you love seafood, this is one of the places to visit. Great view of the Channel Islands Harbor in Oxnard (they also have one in Thousand Oaks but nothing beats the harbor view )

Head onto the 101 to Ventura County

The food was pretty dang decent, but like others pointed out, the drinks were watery at best. We tried two different cocktail and while the flavor was good, they were definitely weak. It might be good to return and sample some of the other foods, but skip the drinks next time.

Nice view. Very good food, . . . except. The drinks were very weak or watered down and flavorless, and there was not enough pasta in the seafood linguini (maybe that’s a good thing???). I quite literally ran out of pasta before the seafood by a long shot. I had an espresso martini that didn’t taste like coffee at all, and there was very weak or little vodka. It tasted more like a cold hot chocolate. The other specialty drink from the menu (I don’t know which one was ordered ) was also weak and watered down. We didn’t complain because our server was very nice. Needless to say, our next drinks were beer and wine. The music was nice and came from some Yamaha speakers that I have other experience with. A good sounding system. Our server was very thorough and on top of her game. Subtleties in her performance were noted by me as being rather refined. I don’t remember her name, but she was very good. Yes, the hot chili oil is outstanding. Dicks

Wife loved the feijoada, meat skewers were delicious . The location was great and we enjoyed being able to watch the harbor. The only downside is maybe it was a little pricey for what we got. But again it was delicious and reminded my wife of her time in Brazil.

Google
We had a nice dinner here during our stay in 0xnard. The food was flavorful & our server was very nice! For appetizers, the beef empanadas were really great! We also got the Coxinhas which are a potato puff stuffed with a chicken mixture. I thought they were just ok, not as flavorful as the empanadas. For dinner, we got the Bolagnase which was pretty good and the large shrimp Moquacas. The Moquacas were delicious, hot and a bit spicy and very flavorful. My only complaint is not enough rice was served with it. Rice is super cheap, give more as there is so much sauce, it needs more rice please! We got the flan as desert. It was perfectly caramelized and great flavor. For $14 though it was too small. Definitely check this place out if you're visiting Oxnard.

Google
Moqueca was amazing. The food was on point and service was great. Would highly recommend the Brazilian beef stroganoff. We also got the fish moqueca and that was delicious. As someone with shellfish allergies, I was able to find delicious food and I believe there was no cross contamination since each dish is made individually.

Google
I LOVE this restaurant. I try to make it on the weekends because I order the Feijoada. All the appetizers are amazing but I love the garlic shrimp and steak skewers. No photos to post but I highly recommend. The owners come say hello and the service is amazing. Highly recommend.

Google
Nice harbor location where you can see the boats from the dining area. At night time the boats were lit up during Christmas it was very pretty. Food wise I really enjoyed the hearts of palm salad with the creamy dressing. My husband's picanha steak was excellent and cooked perfectly and the sides of yuca fries, farofa (yuca flour( and rice and beans were very well prepared. I had the bomba stew and it was thick with good quality seafood like calamari. But I think there was something this do that didn't react well with my gut so I wanted to highlight that for anyone with a sensitive stomach. Also the portions were a bit on a small side given the high price. Otherwise a good nice dinner out.

Yelp
When I was tasked with finding a place for a work dinner in Oxnard, I panicked on finding a spot. Luckily Moqueca popped up and I was happy to provide a new experience for myself and the rest of my team! We made reservations for a party of 6 at 6:30 pm. When we arrived on a Friday, there was live music and a few people around, but it wasn't until later that the place started to fill out. The ambiance was nice, especially with the live music. It felt like a nice place without being too stuffy, with lots of folks wearing shirts and shorts. For food, we started with pastelzinhos and the capa santa gratinada. Honestly, I think you can skip the capa santa gratinada, as the scallops were pretty tiny and overcooked. The pastelzinhos however were pretty tasty and had a good amount of filling. The main that I ordered was the bobo de camarao. I have never tried moqueca or dishes similar, and I really enjoyed this food! The stew was nice and tomato-ey, feeling like a hearty meal when piled atop the side of rice. Lastly, for dessert I got the banana caramelada and a decaf coffee, both of which were tasty but not out of this world. So overall, I would suggest perhaps sticking to the mains if you are judging purely off taste. Service was friendly and parking easy with a lot attached. Overall, not a place I would seek out going to again, but a lovely meal to try out.

Yelp
I travel to Oxnard occasionally for work, and Moqueca has been my go-to dinner stop for years. It's quiet, soft music in the background, you don't have to yell to talk. And it's right on the marina. There were three of us dining this time, so we got a calamari appetizer, moqueca mariscos (mixed seafood) entree and then we each had a dessert; flan, banana empanadas, and banana caramelito. Calamari; lightly battered, so you get more of the calamari flavor and texture than a thick better. Moqueca mariacos: a moqueca for three was actually more like enough for 5-6 people. Served piping hot, and very tasty. Dessert; we each tried a bit of all three desserts. All were good, but the flan was my favorite. The service was good. The only complaint involved a mix up on the credit cards since we were all paying separately. No big deal. It happens. Overall, I recommend stopping in. The next time I'm here I plan on trying the Brazilian stroganoff. And the flan.

Yelp
Highly recommend to experience at least once. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the ambiance is relaxing. To top it off, the views of the harbor are to die for. After longing to dine here for some time, I convinced my family to join me on an epic experience of Brazilian cuisine by the sea. I enjoyed the food and spending time with family. The only downside is that it is pricey here so while it's a great place for a date or a drink, I probably wouldn't frequent often.

Yelp
We love the traditional Brazilian stew that is delicious and deep in flavor. The customer service is always lovely and food is cooked to order. You can also tell that they use fresh ingredients. We love the seafood option the most, but they are all very good

Yelp
Delicious food. A bit pricey. We had a group of 8 and ordered several dishes to share, we all enjoyed it.

Yelp
I had a very pleasant experience here. Food was great, and.........they had live Brazilian music, a guitarist and singer. Very nice. And...the food. Xcllent sauces, bread, dips, as well as a small bar with a monitor for viewing sports. Everything I need! had Moqueca Seabasss con Camarao. Soooo savory. They certainly don't skimp on flavor. Shrimp appetizer had a nice lemony flavor and was tender. The arttichoke dip with bread was divine, as well was the dip / sauce with the tomato texture. I also really like their Hot chili oil. Drizzle a little of that on your bread and dip!!! Unbelievable.

Yelp
We came here for Father's Day because my dad suggested it. He said it was really good. It was ok. We left disappointed. The complementary appetizer was An eggplant and onion topinod with super spicy chilli sauce. The dip was mildly spicy and very mushy. I asked the waiter what it was because when they placed it on the table, they didn't say anything to us. Receiving our drink took at least 30 minutes. We ordered a Pina colada wasn't an actual pina colada. It was a TEQUILA flavored pina colada drink, meanwhile pina coladas are RUM based! Im not going to lie I almost spit the drink back into the glass:/ I told the waitress, Roberta, "I'm sorry but this drink is horrible." She tells me "you don't have to say it like that." I said "how should I say it?" Roberta," I don't like it" Me," ok I don't like it please take it off of our bill" After that we got a new waiter. The steak was overcooked, hard to cut. It lacked flavor, but once you started eating it, it was tender. A butter sauce would've been nice with that steak. The black beans were cold. Also they gave us some seasoning that tastes like bread crumbs. The rice was completely undercooked. There was definitely a crunch with every single bite. Apparently there was a chimichurri sauce, but it really was basically pesto. The fries might not have ever touched the oil because they were that cold and hard. Apparently the lobster was good. I ordered the Seabass, which was in the same sauce as a lobster. I think the Seabass was a little bit overcooked, but it was still good. Everyone's rice sucked. Brittney was very nice and friendly. Roberta wasn't. The best part of this meal was the presentation and the beers.

Yelp
Moqueqa remains my favorite Brazilian restaurant (outside of Brazil!). Owned and operated by Brazilian expats, they offer a wonderful selection of North Eastern Brazilian see food stews. Delicious! They also have the best caprinas north of Rio! Service is polite, friendly and "falla portugesa". Looking for a waterfront experience that is a little different, come to Channel Island Marina and try Moqueca!

Daniel P.

Yelp
Whenever i am in town, I always need to stop at Moqueca. The food is always excellent. There is a great view of the harbor. Great service and very clean. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
Not very busy. Place was clean. Little upscale. Cloth table covers. Atmospheres was very nice. Food was ok. Ravioli was undercooked so a little chewy. Sauce was good. Not enough flavor. The bread basket was oily looked like French bread Moqueca not very good. Fish and shrimp. The prices are high. I have had better in San Diego and the San Fernando Valley. The atmosphere is nice. The waitress never came and asked us how was everything. Or do we need of anything. And there where only three table used.

Yelp
My favorite restaurant in all of Oxnard ~Channel Islands Harbor-Ventura area. Simply fantastic food, drinks & ambience. The service is top notch as well:)

Yelp
Food, service and ambiance all scored 10/10. Our first time here and we were so excited to try the stew in a clay pot. I love my food served hot and the flavor of the stew was just the right amount of spice. Everything was perfect and we got seated next to the window with view of the harbor. Live music that was not loud and very romantic. Great time and I highly recommend this place.

Yelp
Lovely songstress serenades you with Samba while you sip from their wide selection of beers, wines and cocktails. The signature Moquecos features your choice of beef seafood shrimp or chicken baked in a clay pot with an amazing array of spices. My friends also enjoyed the appetizers and salads. Great service no wait. But you may need reservations on a busy weekend. Happy hour ends at 6.

Yelp
My husband and I have been to this location many times. Last Saturday night we brought a group of friends. We always enjoy their quibes and empanadas as our appetizer. Usually we get one of their delicious moquecas but we decided to try something different. I had the Brazilian stroganoff with fettuccini. The flavor was amazing! That's probably my new favorite thing on the menu. My husband had their special feijoada and enjoyed it as well. It was a busy night but the girls working did a great job tag teaming our table making sure we were taken care of. One of our tables moquecas was mistakenly dropped on the ground and they did a great job replacing it and making things right. My husband loves the Caipirinhas here and our friend enjoyed the Martini with cashew milk. Definitely try and get a table with a view of the harbor.

Yelp
We arrived about 45 minutes before closing, I think that's why the food was not so good. Dry steak, fries, my wife had some terrible seafood as well, I never saw her not to finish her plate before in my life.. And we were really hungry too.. The waitress was fantastic though, she is the reason I'm not really upset. The restaurant looks nice, clean with a nice harbor views.

Yelp
Excellent views. Nice view of the water along the window. This is the spot! They are consistently great, decent prices, wonderful ambiance, just all around amazing. The salsa is housemade, the best, I love it! Bread chips are always fresh. The variety is impressive. The fresh made seafood sauce that comes with the Lobster and Seafood Mix Moqueca is the GREATEST SAUCE EVER MADE. Its got a depth of flavor from being marinated in garlic and lime juice with a complexity that will make you ooooze. The Brazilian Stroganoff steak pasta is sublime too. It lends itself more to a highly refined teriyaki. Prepared perfectly, not overcooked. Comes with this amazing creme sauce, fantastic! Appetizers are large enough to share. Some friends ordered the steak skewers and we raved about them. The calamari was so delicious. Easy to chew, crisp, and wonderful with a nice layer of seasoning, just right. And of course, the flan is the star of the show. Creamy and decadent, each bite is pure heaven. Ambiance is always amazing, lighting is nice and low, place is VERY clean and beautiful. Prices have gone up since Covid, but still ok for todays standards. The customer service here is always impeccable, making the dining experience top-notch. We recommend going when Joshua and Trisha are there. Definitely make a reservation ahead.

Yelp
I love this place, specifically a Moqueca with Shrimp and Plantains. I've dined in and ordered from here and I've never been disappointed.

Yelp
This place is amazing! I am so upset that I didn't realize there was more to Brazilian food then a steakhouse! I've never heard of moqueca but since it's in the restaurant name we HAD to try it. I'm sadly allergic to shellfish otherwise I would have tried the seafood concoction, so I stuck to the shrimp and sea bass (added vegetables- Carrots , broccoli and bell pepper) variant. My 15 year old tried the shrimp, and my significant other had all the seafood fixings. This flavorful broth is delicious! It comes in a size small or large, the small is still a decent size for a teen or person with less of an appetite to take home as left overs. It comes with a side of rice. The server brought us a bread that's similar to bruschetta and a vegetable type savory paste and a spicy oil to top it with. Beware those baby chili's have some kick! We also orders a side of plantains they come in increments of 4 (bomb). For a Saturday lunch time the restaurant was empty , however it started to fill up by the time we left. There was however only one server working every table (about 8 parties present during the time I was there). We also tried the other plain and the mango flavor caipirinha beverage and the rum was good!

Yelp
Yeah, this is my go to date spot in Ventura/Oxnard. People rave about places like Lure, Rumfish, etc, but the uniqueness of this cuisine, paired with the portion size and fair pricing, makes it my top pick for date night. Ample parking, near the waterfront, and decent service staff, you really can't go wrong with having a meal here! I would recommend avoiding the patio if there's too many people, as sounds appears to echo and it can get really noisy compared to the main dining area. I ordered a Brazilian Feijoada and a Paella de Mariscos, and it was some of the best food I've ever had in the area. For starters, the Feijoada is only available on weekends, and considered Brazil's national dish. Although I've never been to Brazil, I can still confidently say that the dish is truly unique and tasty. It came with black beans, pork, and sausages, which paired amazingly with the brazilian rice. There was also salad and some dipping spices. The flavor is hard to describe, but if you come on a weekend and it's available, I would recommend this dish. The Paella?? Delicious, 100% have to order. I order it everytime I come here, simply because it's soooo good. There is a ton of flavor, yet it's more easy on the taste buds compared to its Spanish counterpart. It's a seafood paella, and the smaller saffron (or lack thereof) actually makes it taste better IMO. A small portion is enough for 1 person. Between the 2 dishes shared by me and my gf, we left feeling absolutely stuffed. I also ordered a strawberry cocktail, which tasted mainly of alcohol. Nothing to say on their drinks since I usually don't order them. All in all, this place feels underrated for the delicious food they serve. The paella and a moqueca is a must order; you don't come to a Brazilian restaurant to order their american menu. The service was decent; service could be slow and I recommend calling the waiter over if you find yourself getting impatient. Just don't expect the service to be 100% attentive, even if the restaurant feels empty.

Yelp
Food was delicious, service excellent! Dog friendly patio. We will eat here again for the warm and memorable experience.

Yelp
This is the second time my husband and I have been here because we live some distance away. Both times we've been here, the food was exceptionally good. Even though it is pricey, it's worth it. We spilt the small shrimp and Mahi Mahi with the mixed veggies. It was plenty for us but we are big eaters.

Yelp
Food: It's a hit or miss. Their moqueca dishes are good, but Bobo Capixaba is bland and tastes like a taro puree mixed with grits. The worst was picanha grelhada - a piece of meat only for those with powerful jaws, capable of chewing otherwise unchewable animal muscle fiber. An 18% tip was added automatically to our bill, which went unnoticed by my brother, who gave them a regular tip, accepted without any comment, although the waitress should have attracted his attention to the fact that the tip was already added. By the way, imposing an 18% "tip" regardless of the quality of service is a very poor practice. Just for that reason alone, I will never go to that restaurant again.

Yelp
This place has been a staple at Hollywood Beach for a long time and with good reason. Lula Frita: Calamari rings lightly seasoned and deep fried served with a tartar sauce. These disappeared fast. It's a perfect start to the meal. Just enough to take the edge off, but not so many that you're stuffed before your meal arrives. Camarao alho y olio: shrimp sautéed in garlic and olive oil: Another really delicious perfectly cooked appetizer to tickle the taste buds. Good sized juicy shrimp. Tapenada (veg dip) with bread crisps was offered as a complimentary starter as well. Their chili oil is delicious. Consider dunking the bread crisp in the oil before adding a touch of the tapenada for a great kick. Spaghetti Bolognesa: yes, we had a picky eater in the group--- but holy cow, the meat sauce was spectacular. Well seasoned and as good as any Italian restaurant would serve up. Paella de Mariscos: Brazilian white rice cooked with a seafood mix of clams, mussels, calamari and shrimp and broccoli Moqueca style, served with fried plantains. We got the large, and it served the three of us well enough to bring home enough for another meal for one. So in other words, four people coups have easily made a meal of this and been filled to the gills. Perfectly seasoned, deliciously cooked this all in one dish made for a gastronomic party in my mouth. The texture of the seafood, alongside the well cooked rice (not mushy) and a bite of sweet fried plantain added a different dimension of flavor. Drinks: I ordered the original caipirinhas and hubby got the mango. Both highly boozy but well balanced. They remind me of strong, well-made margaritas.

Yelp
Food was great! Service was awesome! Loved all the desserts friendly staff members willing to assist.

Yelp
This is a gem not to miss. The food always is delicious here, particularly the moquecas. And service always is top notch - helpful and attentive. The harborside setting is a bonus.

Yelp
Amazing food. Very powerful cocktails (be forewarned) and welcoming passionate service. Every dish was delicious.

Yelp
Authentic and delicious with good service and ambiance. Nice views of the harbor. Yucca fries are perfect

Yelp
food was delicious! the ambient is also cozy and intimate. we appreciate Trish for taking the time to suggest and explain the menu as we are first timers.

Yelp
Waitress with hand tattoos was very rude to us . Won't be returning to this location . We will go to Thousand Oaks . No wonder it was nearly empty when we went in . The service is not good . Went for a nice dinner with our family and the waitress did as little as she could . No refills, barely brought the food out , added herself a tip on the receipt ( maybe cuz we were a family of 4 ) idk never had this before . The restaurant itself is nice, the location is nice , but I'll pass we need good service .

Grace M.

Yelp
Appetizers were SO DELICIOUS. calamari was the freshest i've ever had! tartar sauce was a little tangy and creamy so delicious so was the lemon butter shrimp so tender and juicy! I got the beef stroganoff with rice and it was so flavorful and filling. I will be looking forward to eating these leftovers.

Yelp
Drinks and crooning live act was a lovely atmosphere despite the wetter weather. The food was okay. My dish was salted twice and I got it exchanged for a bit of pasta

Yelp
Great food. Great service. Music was great too. We've been coming to this restaurant for years and have never had a bad meal. Shrimp and Sea bass In the clay pot is wonderful.

Brian W.

Yelp
My wife and I had no idea about the place. We had a family outing and ended up there for dinner. The food was fantastic. So good we went back the following Thursday to try other dishes. The service was fantastic on both visits even though they were slammed Saturday night. This place is going on our date night rotation.

Yelp
Great food and great service, we had a late reservation and they stayed open late for us. Waiters were attentive and the food was delicious as always.

Yelp
Loved it! Liked the Brazilian cattail also. We had two small Moqueca but at other table it seemed they are sharing a large one with other side dishes. That maybe a great idea also, since we had ledger over to take home.

Yelp
TL;DR: great food, horrible service. Maybe they should just be a takeout restaurant? When a Brazilian tells you where to get good Brazilian food, you listen. There were reservations available every 15 minutes, so I didn't bother. There were two tables seated when we arrived and maybe 3-4 tables were seated after us. Not super busy, but steady customers. We elected to sit on the patio and the waitress who seated us vanished. A waiter came to take our drink order. The waitress came back after a group of 6 was seated and asked if anyone had taken our order. I guess she wasn't our waitress. So we ordered with her and then the table next to us ordered. (I'm sure you can see where this is going...) At some point the waiter came out with some bread and a really tasty tomato-based chutney type condiment. He brought this to us and the grip of 6, that had been seated after us, as well as a group of 3 that hadn't even been there long enough to order. The six got their appetizer at this time. The three got their appetizer, and then 5 minutes later, as I was ready to walk out, our potato puffs came out. Then the six got their food. We did not. It took forever and our dinner came out at the same time as the three. We split the paella and it was everything we hoped. There were plenty of large chunks of seafood. The appetizers were really good, too. The food was fantastic. The ambiance was nice, Watching the sea lion drama was fun, but watching the waiter chat it up with the six and check on them constantly, the waitress being very attentive to the three, and barely any interaction with us... not cool. I wanted dessert, but I sure as F wasn't waiting around for that. We watched the waiter and waitress both come and go, tried to make eye contact and wave, but they didn't even glance in our direction as they flex the patio. I had to go inside from the patio to the main dining room, where there were two tables seated, a customer at the bar, but no restaurant employees anywhere. I stood there for at least 5-7 minutes when the waitress walked in, glanced at me standing there and walked behind the bar to help the customer there. I figured she must have been the bartender and was helping the waiter out with his tables. I went to the bar and asked if we could get boxes and our check and she said she'd "let him know". I returned to the table wishing I had something besides just $20 bills on hand to leave on the table and get out of there. Finally the waiter came by and gave us boxes and our check and said something about hoping we enjoyed our meal, even though he wasn't our waiter. On the receipt was a man's name as the server. Seems he was our waiter. I paid and we could not leave fast enough. It's unfortunate, as I tip based on service and the experience and our day had been incredible up to that point, we walked in and that was slowly deflated. I had a Frappuccino at a Seattle-based coffee chain for dessert. Now, they have some attentive service! Maybe the owners of Moqueca should cruise some coffee shops and take note of what good service looks like... being attentive to EVERY customer they serve.

Yelp
This place is a great date night choice. I visited this place a Friday evening and ordered the file de peixe and a delicious passion fruit cocktail. The food was fantastic but after sampling the Brazilian Stroganoff...I wished I had ordered that because the flavor was amazing. Service was great-they had live music. You can even enjoy a nice walk in the marina after lunch or dinner. Thank you for the great tasting food and drinks

Yelp
I love the Thousand Oaks location and have dined there countless times. Even though this place has better views, and even though the food is pretty much the same, the Oxnard location decided to hire terrible servers that make you feel unwelcome. We came here for Mother's Day weekend totally unplanned. We arrived and there were 4 tables occupied (both inside and out) and the hostess told us they'll try to squeeze us in. Hmm. It was almost 2 in the afternoon. The lunch crowd is clearly gone. So they seated us at the very back of the restaurant. At this point I got the feeling that if I chose to dress nicer, they would've treated me differently. Sometimes I do come out looking like a mess just as a social experiment to see how I'm treated. This place didn't pass. So anyway, we finally get seated - about 5 minutes after another family who did not wait 10 minutes like we did. So they took our drink order and then we WAITED. No exaggeration, when we finally ordered our food, the family who was seated 5 minutes before us, we're already getting ready to leave. We waited 40+ minutes just to order food. When I gave the server a little bit of attitude saying "oh let me check the menu again because I already forgot what I ordered" her retort was to remind us that we didn't have a reservation and they simply squeezed us in. Let me remind you. When we arrived the place was mostly empty. When she was taking our order, the place was half empty. Anyway we racked up a bill almost $400. Why? It because I wanted to give them money, but it was simply an F you for assuming I'm poor. Even if I am, you shouldn't treat me like dirt. Treat everyone the same, with respect! I had zero plans of tipping, but when I received my bill they had already taken a liberty of giving themselves an 18% service fee. I must've missed that sign somewhere. I don't care. They should guarantee their tip cause otherwise I doubt they'd get much considering how they treat people they feel is below them. It's unfortunate because I always loved this place. This location actually meant a lot to me and I'm not going to go in to why, but I will definitely never return again. I won't even bother going to the TO location. I'm done with this place.

Yelp
We were here tonight just for dinner with my wife, with kids and work we finally found some time to enjoy dinner as a couple and unfortunately we chose this brazilian r, everything was good until they served our food, the lady works there messed up with my wife's food giving the wrong plate and when we told her about it she didn't even offer to fix the order to get the right plate, my wife decided to keep with the plate anyway cause was late already, but that plate was awful taste, she didn't even eat half of it, oh well... not a nice experience unfortunately. ($100 dumped plus our time)

Great food, got a chance to experience authentic Brazilian food and was not disappointed, only reason not rice starts, service was a little slow and were left un attended for periods of time

Yelp
We met here for lunch a few months back: the food is very good, the service leaves a bit to be desired. The waiter wasn't outright rude, but he was brusque and seemed as if we were imposing on him. I'd most likely go back for lunch again.

Yelp
My husband loves the shrimp moqueca. I love the plantains and cocktails. Nice environment for date night or family dinner. Family run business - feel like a guest at someone's house. Live music is great on weekends.

Yelp
I thought this place was pretty good, overall. The prices are high but the quality of the food is there. If you like traditional LATAM inspired seafood, you will be happy. The tapas are skimpy BUT tasty. The entree's are respectable but still on the smaller side (more like a LATAM diet than an American Big Mac attack). Back to the price. I spent $160 for two of us. We had 2 happy hour appetizers (discounted), shared a large fish/rice dish and each had a martini with appetizers and a glass of house cab with the entree. Price seems a bit steep, but you be the judge. In the end, I'll go back.

Yelp
Great Brazilian food. Right from the start the complimentary bread and do was excellent. The bread is almost prepared like croutons... I think they drizzle oil on the slices then bake them in the oven to a nice crisp. The dip is a wonderful eggplant tapanade. The ground beef empanadas were out of this world. They use some kind of magical seasoning on the beef. The Espetinho De Picanha (steak skewers) were high quality and flavorful. Unfortunately their namesake, the Moquecas was average. It had a watery tomato broth that didn't wow. Also the shrimp inside got overcooked. They should add the shrimp at the last minute before serving the dish. Also they don't have pao de queijo nor coxinhas. Try the traditional Brazilian drink Caipirinha. They make the drinks strong and lovely. Also try the tradition non-alcoholic Brazilian drink Guarana, it's similar but note popular than Pepsi in Brazil. The ambience is fun with a bar and nice view of the harbor with boats.

Yelp
Delicious fresh seafood with a Brazilian twist- Came here with a big family group celebrating my mom's bday. This was our first time in the Oxnard area and it popped up as a great dinner spot. Having had Brazilian BBQ (the all you can eat type) I was unfamiliar with the Brazilian Moequeca clay pot seafood, but now wish they had more of these style places! They brought out some garlicky toasts with a tasty eggplant tapenade and spicy pepper oil which whetted the appetite. I had the White Sea bass Moequeca (arrives in the namesake clay pot in a tomato type broth) and most importantly the generous portions of sea bass filet were perfectly tender and fresh (anytime seafood arrives in a boiling hot broth/stew, it can end up overcooking but they timed this perfectly!) We also had the weekend special with 16hr cooked pork and sausage- hearty and satisfying pairing perfectly with the fried sweet plantains. The kids plates were also a winner (anything is that the kids like and will feed themselves) with beans, rice, chicken nuggets and fries (I even stole a few chicken nuggets since they had a light perfectly fried exterior and juicy tender interior). We also had a bottle of vino which was very reasonably priced. The ambiance is cozy and the room filled with beautiful Brazilian artwork. The service was wonderful, kind and welcoming. Highly recommend!

Yelp
All I can say is WOW! We had the best meal, with the best ambiance and drinks. We tried the hearts of palm tapenade first and it was addicting!!!! Then came out the scallops... it was amazing!!! The scallops tasted so good and fresh like they had just come out of the ocean. We tried the shrimp moqueca and it really reminded me of the moqueca I had in Rio de Janeiro - the large pot was more than enough for the two of us. For dessert we had the plantains and dulce de leche with an espresso which was the perfect way to end a delicious meal. The ambiance was incredible. There was live music that was perfect for the restaurant. The view was INCREDIBLE! And on top of everything, the caipirinhas were perfectly prepared. The staff was more than attentive and everyone was very welcoming. It was truly a great meal and a great night out.

Yelp
We visited this restaurant memorial weekend while on vacation. We are just talking about it at dinner tonight. The food was so amazing. We hope to come back again the next time we visit. Wish there was a place like this in Sacramento.

Yelp
Upon arrival we were greeted with live music and a wonderful aroma. Our group was celebrating a birthday and some of the group had been here before, making recommendations to those of us that had not. I settled on the Brazilian Steak and my other half had the Shrimp Moqueca. We were delighted with our chooses and look forward to coming back again in the future. Everyone in the party left full and happy with the dishes they chose, making me believe that one could come in and order any item on the menu and be very pleased.
