truly amazing omakase experience!! the appetizers were so well done and the oyster was a standout (we went for a second round as a last course). nigiri were all fresh and delicately seasoned. the handrolls were absolutely terrific, best i've ever had-- the black cod and king salmon were personal favorites. our hostess recommended the nigori sake which was a perfect choice as we wanted one that was less dry. a nice intimate space with well chosen ambient music and elegant place settings. highly recommend!!!

Maybe the best Omakase I've had. A lovely intimate environment with so many amazing courses your head will spin. Every bite was unique and beautifully prepared and presented. The space is small but not cramped and the vibe is modern but also classic. The service is beyond five stars. Gabrielle treated us like we were guests at a private dinner party. Good selection of wine beer and sake. It's not cheap but worth every penny.

I recently dined at Mori in New York, and it was an unforgettable experience. The 16-course omakase was absolutely delicious, a non-stop journey of flavors and textures that left me thoroughly impressed. Each course was unique and memorable, showcasing an assortment of seasonal fish and seafood flown directly from Japan. The contemporary omakase menu is thoughtfully curated, and every bite is a testament to the chefs' expertise and dedication to their craft. If you're seeking an elevated and intimate dining experience in New York, Mori is a must-visit. The exquisite food, exceptional service, and cozy atmosphere make it a standout destination for any sushi lover.

I really love Omakase and this was one of the best I've had! The food was not only full of unique and wonderful flavors, but each dish was beautifully and carefully presented. The fish was so fresh and buttery, it felt like we were back in Tokyo eating fresh catch from the fish market. The sake paired beautifully with the dishes, and I left feeling very full, but not bursting. Although this sultry joint is likely best for date nights, we braved taking our kids (8&10) to the 5:30 sitting and they LOVED everything about the experience. They were treated so kindly by all the staff and both ate every single bite. They were entertained the entire time watching the chefs putting the next dishes together. Very highly recommend!

We loved every piece we were served at Mori with especially the toro caviar on toast, ikura and uni !! The scallop and uni was both from Hokkaido and if you love truffle this place is a must !!

I love omakase and go hunting in the city for the best omakase, and by far my favorite place. Everything is so fresh and clean, Chef Iko is precise with every piece. Kevin was so nice and accommodating, made sure we knew what to do. If you love sushi this place is a MUST!!

Honestly unbelievable in terms of F&B offering (omakase, apps, beverage menu), fantastic service, vibe, and music was very on point. Have already booked my next reservation. Highly recommend!!

My experience here at Mori was beyond superb! Every single course that I had opened my pallet to something that I have never tried before. It was my first time trying omakase and I fear for any other spot that I go to due to the quality and the standard that mori has set. Starting off so strong with the West Coast oyster and the orange foam was a perfect palette primer! I couldn’t be more excited to try the courses here at the restaurant. There is a Hamachi and truffle emulsion sauce dish here on the menu and I almost bit the plate! The entrees/ hand rolls… every single one of them exceeded my expectation, adding caviar definitely elevated the dish. And then to end off the main courses with an A5 Wagyu beef roll!!! Melted in my mouth it was to die for! People of GOOD TASTE! this is definitely a place to flex on your next date night! This is an elevated and exquisite spot to dine at. Perfect for date night, birthdays, pregame or night cap. A brand new intimate omakase in SOHO, and a spot to run, not walk to. Highly recommend.

Yelp
I loved everything about my experience at Mori! The staff was SO friendly, the menu was so unique with the breakdown of appetizers, nigiri, handrolls, and dessert, and it all tasted fantastic. I'd absolutely go again and I'd recommend Mori to everyone! Best birthday dinner I can imagine

Yelp
Pricey but amazing experience. It's an intimate setting, only around 10 seats. The menu is very well thought out, about 14 courses served in 3 segments. Particularly loved the sushi segment, where the fatty tuna and the scallop were my personal favorites. Service is very professional and efficient.

Yelp
Good but not great. I was expecting more from the price but first course with the oyster dish both my friend and I had pieces of shell in our bite that we had to spit out. The rest of the pieces were hit or miss mainly because of the salt and flavor level. Some were so good and just right but definitely had pieces of sushi that were either very salty or no taste even though it had garnishes that is suppose to add flavor. The drawback is the inconsistency of the salt level in comparison to the price (I had the regular course with 1 beer it was about $180pp) . I did like the ambiance and decor a lot it was intimate but also inviting.

Yelp
This was my third omakase experience, and Mori truly exceeded my expectations. The atmosphere was amazing--perfect for celebrating or a date. The fish was incredibly fresh, the chefs were outstanding, and the service was impeccable. I'd highly recommend it! The price is $125 per person for 16 courses, and it's well worth it.

Yelp
Food: 5/10 Service: 8/10 Ambience: 8/10 Everything ranged from a little fishy to very fishy so I couldn't taste any of the seasonings well. Most of the pieces that were not-as-fishy tasted too bland. My favorite pieces were the Otoro with garlic and Ikrura which were noticeably not as fishy. I also liked the Kani (Crab) with truffle aoli and potato crisps mostly because I liked the potato chips which was overpoweringly tasty. I was most disappointed in the Toro on Toast +$15 supplement Hokkaido Uni because it was tasteless and I felt like the added uni didn't do anything for it. The Marcha Mascarpone Cookie with white chocolate dessert was too heavy for me. I'd prefer a lighter, more refreshing dessert. Overall, the meal was not worth my $125. Ambience was nicer than other "budget" omakase restaurants though. The bathroom was very nice and clean with aromatic candles.

Yelp
BEST find of 2024 so far!!! Run, do not walk to this place. This Soho restaurant is tiny but has really cool vibes with exposed bricks and black walls. For $125, this is by far the best and most interesting omakase experience I've had in a long time (and I was just at Shuko on Thursday this week). The meal is chunked into 3 sections with appetizers, nigiri, and hand rolls. You basically get the best of everything, and the pieces are truly top notch with premium ingredients (uni, caviar, otoro, wagyu etc.) Things that I'm still thinking about: - toro and caviar on toasts - I'd come back and get 5 of these. What kind of sorcery was this!! - every single one of the 4 hand rolls - love the addition of garlic crisps - wagyu nigiri Service was great and friendly. Definitely will be back (hopefully many, many times).

Yelp
Amazing food! First bite, the Oyster was off the hook. The truffle sauce, outstanding!

Yelp
Hands down NYC's best new omakase. Incredible fish quality with an inventive touch to each dish. Otoro, Uni, Wagyu dishes will live in my mind for quite some time. Beautiful modern design while maintaining the elegance of an omakase experience. Fun atmosphere with a great soundtrack at a volume that creates a lively vibe, but also conducive for conversations. Hosts and chefs were very friendly and made sure we had a great experience. 10/10, will definitely be back!

Yelp
Food, fantastic. Plating and decor, smart and intentional. Vibe, immaculate and intimate. Would 100 percent, without a doubt, recommend for anyone looking for an omakase experience in NYC. They also substitute any course that you may not be interested in, which is not always the case with omakase in this price range, which I found to be extremely accommodating.

Deivy L.

Yelp
for an opening day everything was smooth; the staff were overwhelmingly friendly, well trained, and bringing the best hospitality I've seen. I'll definitely coming back. The food was really good as well. Honestly the best fish quality. It was my first time trying uni and it was delicious. Everything on the menu is well course out. Again I can't say it enough how friendly the staff is. It makes the ambiance 10x better.

Yelp
As someone who absolutely loves omakase, I can say honestly that Mori is a must go to restaurant for a unique dining experience in NYC. It offers a tasting menu that is unlike any other omakase I have had in the city. Truly incredible and every piece was different and more delicious than before. Truly cannot recommend this restaurant enough! Staff was 10/10 and the chef is out of this world!
