The Best Fried Chicken In London

"The south London fried chicken shop chain is an undisputed heavyweight when it comes to consistent (and consistently absurd-value) hot wings and pieces, fried and coated in a peppery spice mix. A single spicy wing will cost you 80p or so and it’s pretty much always a good way to spend a few quid." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak, daisy meager

"Top-notch chicken and great value!" I’ve been to a few Morley’s branches, but the Wandsworth one is definitely one of my favourites. The chicken is always crispy, juicy, and fresh – especially the wings and spicy fillet burger. Service is quick, and the staff are friendly and polite even during busy hours. Prices are super affordable, and the portion sizes are generous. It’s perfect for a quick bite after work or a late-night treat. The shop is clean and well-maintained too, which is always a bonus. Highly recommend if you’re craving some proper fried chicken without breaking the bank!

You're having a laugh right??? £7 for some 10 tiny spicy wings ... hahaha worlds gone mad. Hope morleys shut down as a franchise soon. Greedy owners. Been eating here since childhood days. What a disappointment. Owners only care about becoming wealthy now

The chicken wings, were finger licking. Very soft and tender, with a nice crunch. The barbecue had enough sauce. The only negative thing I would say that the wings was so small.

A bit pricey 3 meals came to 18 pound . The lamb ribs wer full of fat hardly any meat on them . Chicken and fries were fine

Morleys has grown over the years with many branches across London, but consistency is often a problem and different branches often serve different products ( such as the fries are different in each store). The fried chicken on my recent visit was okay and the skinny fries were good, but the problem was it was served luke warm. Not cold, but certainly not hot as it should be! Sadly this is because they clean the hot cupboard hours before they close and put the chicken in the top section to keep warm, which has no heat lamps and so all the food gets cold. This is so they can get out and go home early as soon as they close, instead of cleaning at the end of service. This needs addressing as it should be hot held at the correct temperature to avoid food poisoning, not Luke warm. My only other gripe is the lamb ribs are inconsistent. sometimes good, but often tough, full of fat ( a bit of fat is good but some of these ribs are mostly fat) and dry like eating a pair of old boots, so be warned. Overall it's an average fast food fried chicken venue open till late.
