"If you’re not well-versed with women winemakers, Mo’s will change that. The majority of wines at this Alameda spot focus on women-owned and produced wines, led by owner Maura Passanisi, with at least 15 wines available by the glass. There’s also a selection of beers to choose from, as well as sake, low-abv cocktails, and nonalcoholic options, and a modest food menu, as well." - Dianne de Guzman, Matt Lardie

"Mo’s is a women-owned wine bar that focuses on highlighting women producers. The menu offers a collection of by-the-glass and bottle options, beers and ciders, plus some creative low-ABV and NA sips. The food menu is small but well thought out. A handful of bites like cheese plates, nuts and olives, miso deviled eggs, and trout roe crostini make it a perfect happy hour spot. Even when busy, it’s quiet enough to have a conversation." - Meleyna Nomura

"In Alameda, Mo’s Wine Bar has launched with a selection of wines showcasing women winemakers. They have about 15 wines available by the glass, with a good amount of the bottles sourced locally as well as from Spain, France, Italy, New Zealand, and South Africa. There’s also a short list of seasonal snacks, plus a short list of beers and low-ABV cocktails, all in a slightly upscale space. " - Ricky Rodriguez

Taking over the space at 1515 Park Street, Mo’s will have some light snacks and cheese platters to start. Gorgeous, romantic space with thoughtful details and a well-curated wine list featuring a varied selection of wine (and beer and sake, etc) styles from WOMEN owners and makers—well-known names alongside many under the radar gems. Knowledgeable staff.

Google
Great new wine bar in Alameda. They offer glasses or bottles of wine, interesting beers, and bottles to go. Definitely worth a visit!

Google
Really nice spot but why so cheap with the food portions? Three halves for the deviled eggs? What happened to the other half of the second egg🤣? Scolari’s used to have a really good plate of deviled eggs with 8 halves. And the “crustini” were literally wafer thin, this dish is usually a kind of toast with toppings. The service was barely adequate, leaving us there with dirty plates for the last part of the evening— with a 20% automatic gratuity it would have been nice to get better service. The wine was excellent, the place is very cute, I would just skip the food.

I loved the way I was welcomed into this space! My partner came on opening night, and had mentioned it a few times so we made our back over to Alameda and I enjoyed the Curran Grenache Blanc!

Google
Love this new gem in Alameda. Four of us met here on a Saturday afternoon and enjoyed it. The space is large, yet cozy. The wine selection is fantastic and approachable- something for everyone. Even options for those that don’t drink. And the price point is right on. Also appreciate that you can pick a bottle to go at a very reasonable price. Will be coming back!

I really like the place and I hope they will stay open. But I wish they would dim the lights at night and play more lounge music or something other than soft or classic rock. The wine list is great, the decor is great also. And I'm glad they open late.

Google
WONDERFUL experience at MO’s Wine Bar! For starters, it’s such a beautiful, spacious location with great music, the wine selection is INCREDIBLE, the champagne is so YUMMY! Damian greeted us and really took care of us from start to finish with so much care and attention. If that wasn’t great enough, the food is PHENOMENAL! Chef Lo whipped up some delicious food and even made a vegan dish for me. I’d 110% recommend to my friends and everyone to visit this beautiful wine bar. It is hard to find a wine bar with amazing wine and phenomenal service and food and MO’s really knocked it out the park!

Google
The owner is an Alameda native and this wine bar is well on its way to becoming a core business in the community: great wines, expert service, and a high-end ambiance that elevates the whole experience. We also had the “purple-haze” cheese plate, chips, and tomato soup. All superb. Bravo!

Yelp
Had a wonderful time at Mo's this last weekend! We popped in while waiting for a movie, and it was a perfect addition to our afternoon out. The space is beautiful and we really appreciated how open and airy the establishment felt. We enjoyed their wine list as well as their half glass option, and the owner informed us that they were about to add wine flights and tastings to the menu starting the following week. Also, they had small bites that paired well with their wine list. We got the caviar with chips. It was very high quality and well priced in comparison to other options we have experienced. We look forward to another visit and are excited to try the new flight options.

Yelp
The owner served us on a Wednesday night, this place is new and gorgeous with comfortable bar seating and a relaxed atmosphere. In my opinion, it's one of the best looking interior dining options in all of Park St. She's very knowledgeable about wines, great bar snacks including a creative deviled eggs with herbs....loved it! Would come back any day.

Yelp
Been here twice (both on rainy days) and felt so tended to and welcomed while here. The space is beautiful and the bartender, servers are helpful and friendly! I drink a bit less wine nowadays so happy to see a great beer selection, and sake as well! The food is also delicious! I've had the salmon with dill spread on toast, soup if the day, mushroom pate, and loved it all! Please check it out!

Yelp
I am giving this a 5 because they are open more than just a couple hours a day and currently the only wine bar open in Alameda. A welcome addition to the scene in Alameda. It is so nice to have another place open after the kids are tucked into bed. Not sure what the whole close at 8, 9 or 10 trend has been here. This is a pretty good size city. Yes, I know there are a few places that stay open late, really late, but I am also not interested in getting shanked. LD is the exception most nights. So we have been here a few times and will continue to show up. We typically like nice places that serve good wine and have some food. This place does that. I really dont care if the wines are women owned or not just as long as they taste good. (I know, dont flame me for liking good wine over one of 700 genders) I usually get the cab franc or the syrah, both excellent. My partner usually gets the riesling or the sparkling rose. Actually i have had the brut a few times also and it's great. The cheese plates are tasty and a healthy chunk of cheese. Overall it's nice to be able to pop in here in the afternoon or late at night for 1 or 2 glasses or more while out and about after taking care of other business. And, hello other businesses, we can do this because they are open and a lot of yall'z  are not open.

Yelp
I think their focus is on woman owned wine and beer. The hot chocolate was really good, nice little spice to it. Owners were nice. Everything was clean and super chill both a place to meet up with people but also felt like I could read with a glass of wine here as well. Liked the wine selections.

Yelp
Mo is incredible and so is her new place! She was flexing some of her yummiest white wines and other goodies. We love it! Thanks Mo!

Yelp
Came to check out MO's on a Friday evening. I loved the space - really big, plenty of seating, quiet music that added to the ambience but didn't take away from the conversation. This is a perfect place to come for a chiller vibe and atmosphere than a loud crazy bar. Someone had a laptop at the bar and looked like they were working, and honestly I might bring mine next time because it seemed like a great place to get stuff done with a glass of wine on a Friday! The menu is small, but I like that for what the place is. Better than being overwhelmed by choice in my opinion. I thought the staff was very friendly and lovely, and I love that the first thing they tell you about the place is that it is women-owned and operated. They seem proud of that and it definitely made me want me to support it! Overall, great new addition to Park St. Glad it's here.

Yelp
I came around 7 on a Wednesday night. I couldn't tell if it was wait to be seated, so I just went and sat down to wait for my friend and her sister to show up. I'd never been, so I went to the bar to ask if you order upfront, she just didn't see us walk in. She came to the table and offered us a sample of the wine we wanted, but we didn't get much farther than that. My friend's little sister is 19, so she was going to have the hot chocolate, I guess this triggered the server to ask her age so we told her. She informed us that it's 21 and up here! This is good to know, I really liked the size of this place and the comfy seating. I look forward to coming back for a date night without the kids instead!

Yelp
Great wine, nice food menu, excellent ambiance. We love Mo's! When I visited I enjoyed a bottle of Champagne on a lovely Saturday afternoon. If I lived in the area this would be a regular stop for me.

Yelp
Great wine selections and knowledgeable staff to get a good drink in a upscale relaxed place.

Liz L.

Yelp
Great service and staff! Amazing selections of wines from around the world. And everything they have is woman made or owned! So cool! I can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Came in for a simple glass of wine after a long journey from Tahoe. Ordered our $21 a glass wine x2 .. handed bar tender a $50 bill and was told it was $54.92 ( after sales tax and a 20 % MANDATORY GRATUITY) ... the wine was nice :) felt very inappropriate not to have been notified before hand of the mandatory gratuity .. honestly I think that was a bit much. Should have a notice, apparently it's deep in side of the wine menu..... ps. Based on the gratuity note on receipt .. see attached ( "check pooled between staff MINUS Mgt") the mandatory gratuity doesn't even all go to staff ..

Yelp
Tried a couple small bites and some wines. Both were great and the bar is really nicely redone. Service was great and such a lovely addition to the neighborhood.

Lydia V.

Yelp
THEY AUTOMATICALLY ADD GRATUITY TO YOUR BILL. I do not like that they take your card away and automatically add 20% gratuity to your tab and sign off on behalf of you and just hand you back your card. That not a good business practice, it's not transparent for the customer nor can the customer opt out if they received horrible customer service. We ordered a bottle and 3 apps. Food was good, but portions are pretty small for the price point. For two people, we spent $100, which is pretty pricey for a wine bar. We were still hungry and wanted to order one more app but were ignored by staff so we gave up and decided to head somewhere else. Decor and ambiance was very nice and you can tell they invested a lot of time and energy to make it welcoming and fun. They had an okay list of wines but for a wine bar, it was kinda sparse. To my surprise they did have cocktails, beer, and other drinks.

Yelp
Looks beautiful on the inside. I hope it does well since I live a block away. Just seems like Wine and Waffles but without the expansive food menu and well, sadly they did not make it. Crossing my fingers for them.

Cheryl G.

Yelp
This was our first visit to Mo's. Service was not good, the server did not seem very knowledgeable about the wines. There was not a very good selection and the wines were just average and were overpriced. The pour in our glasses did not appear to be even 4 ounces. We ordered the charcuterie tray and it was just ok. And, we were very surprised to see a 20% gratuity on our bill for only 3 of us. I will not be going back. We also met the owner and told her that it was our first visit. She was not very friendly and did not have much to say to us.

Matt H.

Yelp
Charming new spot in Alameda! Four of us came in on Saturday afternoon and loved the wine selection, knowledgeable service and cozy ambiance. Great spot for a date night or catch up with friends. Reasonable prices too!

Carlos Q.

Yelp
From the food to the drinks and the servers everything is amazing from Mo to Madeline and all the other servers. They have great drinks and will recommend something that is perfect for you and their variety is amazing

Jenn S.

Yelp
I can't tell you how I excited I am about MO's!!!!!! My husband and I love wine and we've been hoping for a spot like this- high end interesting wine on a rotating menu, relaxed but high end vibe, and delicious apps; a spot that we can unwind after a tough workday or week. Highly recommend after work or on a weekend. They will be opening their outdoor patio soon as well!

Justyn P.

Yelp
Beautiful new bar in downtown Alameda! Wonderful service and an excellent wine list. I'll definitely be coming back again.

Paul S.

Yelp
Came in for the grand opening last night. Had some shared plates and red wine. What can be better? Great wine wonderful friendly people. Great vibe. Looking forward to going there often and hanging out with Maura and staff. Good luck.

Molly F.

Yelp
Overall, this is a cool place, the atmosphere and decor are spot on, the menu was good, the wine was great, I actually prefer a smaller, high quality menu rather than an overwhelming list. However... I just can't get on board with the automatic 20% gratuity on my bill. I've been in the service industry for over a decade and even I think tipping culture is out of control. When I am bartending I am giving my customers the full experience. It felt like those behind the bar had very little service experience. Maybe they were owners or managers more so than bartenders? I don't know but I would highly suggest getting a few seasoned people in there to lighten up the energy. People don't come back for atmosphere and decent wine, they come back because they feel wanted and that the staff is all having a good time and they feel like they are apart of it. 20% gratuity should not be a given for bare minimum customer service...

Vickie H.

Yelp
Very surprised to read the reviews! Limited selection of wines, I did not find the staff friendly to our group of six. Maybe not a good day. Went in on a Sunday afternoon. I may need to give another try, but not sure I want to return
