Updated review...8 years later and now I live here, lol!
Looking back on my first review, I was very, very anti-Mosaic. What can I say...it's nice to go outside and not have to travel far to get here. It's nice when my friends want to get together and want to hang out right here. The farmers market is very nice to check out as well as the seasonal festivals. So many restaurants to chose from. Over the years I've tried CAVA, Urbano, Falafel Inc, (those 3 are my faves), True Food Kitchen, MacMillan Whiskey Room, Caboose Commons, Sheesh Grill for kabobs, Mom & Pop, Parc de Ville, Matchbox, Jinya Ramen Bar, Shake Shack, Panera, Nando's Peri Peri, Teds Bulletin and Bar Taco, last two being my least faves. So many places to shop at, but I'm on a minimalist kick. I've only shopped at Target a few times, not Bloomies, lol!
What I absolutely love is the outdoor open green area. They show outdoor movies and major sporting events like the olympics and world cupss on the huge outdoor screen and offer yoga classes during the warmer months. On the weekends they often block off traffic so pedestrians can stroll and relax, and have live bands on a stage, but I always seem to miss them because I don't keep up with the schedule.
Since my initial review years ago, the Mosaic area has definitely grown on me. Still very cookie cutter and lacks authentic artistic vibes, but I guess this is not NYC.
The tacky thing about this area are the mindless individuals that rev their car engines and create noise pollution and make all sorts of vroom, vroom, vroom noises with their cars at all hours of the night when youre trying to sleep. We don't care what sort of car you drive nor the engine you have. That's my only rant.
What I love, taking walks at night, enjoying all the lights, and enjoying the nice weather and sitting outdoors to just relax here. There's a lot of outdoor seating areas spread out all over. I guess it's a pretty cool area. It's home for now!
