Orlando’s Best New Restaurants | Eater Miami

"Henry Moso’s gorgeous handroll bar spares no expense in the quality of ingredients. The nori here isn’t served anywhere in the United States, giving the four-time James Beard Award nominee’s handrolls a distinct advantage. The seaweed’s wispy crackle and briny aroma linger like patrons who can’t seem to leave the stunning, horseshoe-shaped bar. Set menus allow guests to sample a variety of tubular bites without breaking the bank, be it Faroe Island salmon glistening with white soy to aged branzino delicately slicked with shio and yuzu oil." - Faiyaz Kara

I went in for lunch on a Monday and was very impressed by the atmosphere, service, and food. I’ve heard great things and my high expectations were met! Allie was a great server and the chef provided great service as well. I enjoyed the Moso Omakase and got to try a variety of hand rolls and some sashimi as well. My favorites were the salmon and chutoro hand roll. All of it was delicious and I look forward to trying more soon. Live laugh love mosonori

I had such an amazing dining experience at Mosonori! The atmosphere is elegant and calm with a modern Japanese touch — you immediately feel like you’re in an omakase-style restaurant, but the prices are surprisingly reasonable for the quality. Every dish was beautifully prepared and full of flavor — especially the hamachi tasting, toro tartare, and the mixed mushroom hand roll, which was rich, aromatic, and perfectly balanced. You can really taste the freshness and care that go into every bite. What made the night even better was the exceptional service. From the host to the manager, everyone was warm, professional, and genuinely attentive. The manager came by multiple times to check on our experience, explained ingredients in detail, and answered all of our questions with so much passion and knowledge. It’s rare to find a restaurant that combines great food, great ambiance, and such sincere hospitality. Mosonori truly deserves all five stars — I’ll definitely be back when I visit Orlando again

The food was fantastic! Service was excellent! My friend had the tiniest piece of shell in one of her hand rolls, she silently took it out of her mouth and put it on her plate. Didn’t say anything, we all work in a sushi restaurant, we get it and wasn’t going to say anything. The chef observed this, went over to the manager and the manager came over, apologized, comped it off the check and offered to make a new one!!! We didn’t say a single word, they were just observant and hospitable! Great experience, will definitely return next time in town.

It was such a great experience dining at mosonori. The servers were friendly and attentive to every detail , gave some recs what to try. My top tier was lobster and eel hand rolls

Please don’t come here for sushi. This is not sushi, it’s an overpriced fish burrito. If you want a fish burrito, it’s a very good spot 👍🏻 It was hard to have a conversation because of the bar seating. A booth would be much better, however, this place is too small to have one.

By far one of our favorites restaurants!! We have been here at least 4 times now and they never disappoint. They are very accommodating when it comes to allergies…. I have a crustacean allergy and they always offer me a substitution of my choice. My boyfriend has also had an Achilles tendon tear so he’s been on a boot and scooter and they have always been accommodating with that. I do have to say that to get into the restaurant itself is not very handicapped friendly because there are steps but we figured it out. The food is amazing and we are always full by the end of the meal. We always end up getting either the omakase or the 6-roll set and some cold tastings for such reasonable and cheap price (it’s always under $150 for 2 of us). Definitely recommend!!!

Google
Interesting temaki (hand roll) concept. The location is beautiful, although the sun streams into the dark restaurant during daytime. Service is sharp, although we were the only couple during early lunch service. The rolls are cylinders, not cones as traditional, and that the unfortunate result that fillings will squeeze from the far end. Prices are ok, a bit high for what it is and they have little sets of 3, 4, and 5 temakis, as well as other sets, plus ordering a la carte. Flavors and fish quality are good. 18% service automatically added to Bill regardless of party size.

Google
Very happy to find a special Japanese handroll place. Foods are excellent and fresh. One roll at a time to keep seaweed fresh and crisp.

Yelp
mosonori left me asking why the price tag is this high for this much hassle. The format puts you at a sushi bar with multiple parties seated together, which dilutes the experience. If I'm sharing elbow room with strangers, I'd rather book Edoboy. Their smaller-party setup fits this concept better and the value feels tighter. If I want conversation and privacy, Kabooki gives you a proper table without the spectacle baked into the price. Speed is the bright spot. Plates landed fast and the pacing was efficient. Unfortunately, that's where the upside ended for me. For what they charge, I expected sharper hospitality and a more thoughtful flow. Checkout was the low note. When it was time to pay for our bill, the staff member made a face when we asked for our receipt. She came off rude. Food quality and presentation was fine, but nothing justified the premium. I know it's Winter Park, but this place is overpriced hype.

Yelp
Tried masonry for the first time for their hand roll omakase. I was very surprised to not have liked any of the servings! I love kabooki and I know this place is owned by the same chef. It seems because the omakase is on the cheaper end, the quality also isn't good. I don't even remember any of the hand rolls they served because I didn't like any of them

Yelp
This is a BEAUTIFUL place to have an intimate dinner date. The dining area is set up like a big U around the center when the handrolls and other plates are made. There is a kitchen in the back where the food is cooked and a refrigerator display of meats. It provides a elegant and modern look. The food here is VERY fresh and it's quite entertaining to see the food being prepared in front of you. They give you a golf pencil and a sheet to mark the items and quantities you would like. If you're eating handrolls only, I believe they advise on ordering three at a minimum. My favorite roll here is the crab. They also have sake-based cocktails that are delicious, if you're a fan of sake. The hostess and waitstaff are superb and engaging. The service is great and would make you return again and again. I don't advise visiting with a big group becuase everyone sits side-by-side. This is perfect for a pair or trio.

Yelp
My sushi craving took the best of me the other day, but when does it not! I popped in for a little mid-day snack since I live in the area. Yes, mosonori is a bit pricey... but the elegant, modern vibe and quality definitely justify this. The staff were very professional and informative about the menu as well. I ordered a carafe of the warm sake as well as the Hamachi Hand Roll and the Chef's Daily Special Hand Roll (it was Uni this day... MY FAV). I was very impressed by the freshness of the Uni and Hamachi! I don't think you can make reservations since it's all bar seating, but I think you can join a waitlist through the Resy app during their operating hours. Also to note, there is no liquor here. Their signature cocktails are sake-based. I would definitely pop in for a snack and some sake again.

Yelp
I've seen this place pop up on my TikTok lots of times and I finally came here with my friend to try it. The inside of the restaurant looks nice and I like that the seating is centered around the chef's making the dishes. It feels very personal and the staff here were very helpful with the menu and provided lots of good recommendations. We decided to get the six roll, set menu and order some additional items as well. The salmon tasting was very fresh and a good indicator of the quality of the fish here. We tried a lot of their hand rolls and they were all pretty good. The hand rolls here are a bit bigger than most places. My favorites were the crab and lobster hand rolls. I didn't particularly like the Toro hand roll just because I don't like Toro chopped up. The softshell crab hand roll was also not my favorite. While it was good, it was a bit greasy. I would like to come back here and try the rest of their hand rolls. If you haven't been here yet, you should definitely try it out!

Yelp
Had a lovely late lunch here. Ordered the 6 hand roll deal. Every piece was fresh and excellent. My favorite was the lobster and has become my favorite lobster roll of any kind. Their hand rolls are cylindrical versus cone shape. I think this helps keep the seaweed crispier. The prices are so reasonable for the quality you receive.

Yelp
What an amazing Experience! This was an excellent omakase experience, and it definitely met and exceeded expectations! I was excited to see them offer a Bite 30 tasting menu. The restaurant is beautiful! The dining room is one large oblong counter top with stool seating with perfect viewing of the sushi chef team at work. The service was excellent! The host/waitress was extremely attentive and friendly. She addressed me by name every time she addressed me (they ask when you arrive) Definitely a five star experience! I did the salmon cold tasting, the Toro Tartare and a few of the hand rolls. The salmon tasting was perfect! I've never had salmon so flavorful and buttery in the states! The fish was delicate and tastes so fresh! The Toro Tartare was perfectly fatty and buttery! It was Smokey and bright! The shrimp hand roll was creamy and delicious, like lobster roll! The crab roll was perfectly balanced and had a wonderful flavor. The scallop roll was buttery and spicy, it had the perfect balance of creaminess and boldness. The hamachi roll was bright and fresh. It was very fish forward with a nice bite from the chives. Finally, the salmon roll. It was fresh and light, another perfect demonstration of the flavors of the sea! To finish the tasting, I was served vanilla soft serve with house made caramel drizzle. The ice cream was like velvet! The caramel was perfectly sweet and salty with butterscotch notes. The complete set was surprisingly filling as well! Typically, tasting menus can be unsatisfying, but the portions were perfect! This was a wonderful experience. I decided to treat myself to an elegant dinner, and this did not disappoint!

Yelp
This has easily become one of most visited go to date night spots. Mosonori is such high quality food and perfect size portions to enjoy dinner but be full. They do not take reservations but we usually can easily get seating at the bar or will call and check the wait times. All the staff is always so friendly and the bar seating makes it a fun atmosphere. No matter what do not skip the toro tartar appetizer but pro tip, the toro handroll is the exact same base so if getting the toro tartar I would skip it as a hand roll and try a different hand roll! Our favorite is the lobster every time but love trying the market specials. Recently the mixed mushroom handroll special blew our mind and we hope it becomes a staple! Don't miss Mosonori!!

Yelp
I went to Mosonori today for lunch and was honestly surprised to see they were not only open for lunch, since restaurants like these are usually only open for dinner, but also offering their Bite30 menu during the day. I thought Bite30 was dinner-only, so this was a win. Now I'm wondering if other restaurants doing Bite30 are allowing it at lunch too... (someone please investigate) The place has such a modern, fancy vibe: clean, minimal, but still warm (figuratively, the AC was working fine). For the first course, we had the hamachi salmon crudo, and wow. The fish was thinly sliced and super fresh, and the ponzu sauce really soaked into the fat of the fish. So good. Then came the 5 hand rolls: crab, salmon, bay scallop, akami, and hamachi. They were all delicious, but the crab and bay scallop were definitely my favorites. The scallop had this amazing aioli that I made the scallops stand out. The Bite30 menu includes dessert (soft serve, meh), but we actually decided to skip it. I know! We just felt like something so heavy and sweet would ruin the delicate flavors we'd just had. We asked if they could swap it for anything else, even just a bowl of rice, but they said no subs, which was a bummer. Overall, it's a good spot for hand rolls, if you are into them. In all honesty, I am not (I do think they are a bit of a scam because of the rice/fish ratio), but I did want to check this place out because of the great reviews and a friend's recommendation. It did not disappoint but I'll most likely not come back. One time was enough. :)

Yelp
When you walk in, you're met with beautiful decor and the ambiance is sexy and inviting. We were seated quickly and got right into it. I will say that it takes a while to get your food, as it is made right in front of you. Most things are one biters, so I didn't take pictures because I was so hungry, lol. Everything we tried was so good, but the toro tartare was phenomenal. Overall, loved the food and service, but left hungry. So if you're a foodie that needs a lot of food to be satiated, don't come here if you're starving. this is perfect for a date where you want to be cutesy and demure, not meant for the eaters lol (or be prepared to spend a lot of $$)

Yelp
My friends saw this place and thought it would be a fun spot to grab dinner. We called ahead and caught them before it got busy so we were seated immediately. Also the restrooms were clean! The server explained the menu to us and made sure they were thorough on flavors and what to expect from the experience. I got the 6 hand roll and enjoyed each roll. They were well prepared and overall very tasty. I only wish the rolls were closed on the bottom because there was some spillage from when you eat it and my server took the fish and rice that fell out to toss versus letting me grab it to eat, but appreciated them for being kind and efficient. I wish they offered dessert of some sort, but was happy with the service and would come back.

Yelp
The service was really extraordinary and the ambience was very chic. I liked sitting around the bar, but if you had a large group, it might be a little more difficult to chat. Their Handroll means that you need to pick up your sushi, which is wrapped in seaweed. So if you're cool with eating sushi with your hands that's awesome. I prefer to have bite-size pieces. Having said that, the scallop hand roll was wonderful followed by the salmon and the tuna. A limited menu for tea and drinks.
google avatar

Francis C.

Yelp
The service here is top tier. I noticed the chef keep watch of how fast we finish our hand rolls to determine when he should start making the next one. We did the moso omakase and our favorites were the lobster and the hamachi tasting. It's a beautiful restaurant as well, I love the indigo color scheme. It was so good I got a cute hat too lol.

Yelp
Been wanting to check this place out since it began its soft opening. We came on a Saturday evening right when it opened so fortunately there was no wait. We opted for the Moso omakase which was reasonably priced at $42 and included 6 courses. First course was the hamachi. Probably the best hamachi we've had in Orlando. Fish was quality and it had the perfect amount of acidity which most places struggle to add. Second course was the yamaimo hand roll. Crunchy texture but could've used some meat. Good if you're vegetarian I suppose. Third hand roll was the lobster. I got the end of the tail which really added a crunch to the roll. Delicious. Fourth hand roll was the akami. Solid and had a nice spicy kick to it. Fifth roll was the toro. This one made me realize how good the nori is here. Salty and the way they roll it cylindrical vs cone shaped at some of the other handroll places definitely makes a positive difference in the taste. Last handroll was the eel. What a finish to the tasting menu. Mosonori is by far the best handroll offering in Orlando. Would definitely return!
google avatar

Truc P.

Yelp
Oh my goodness when i tell you i no longer have to travel to NYC for handrolls, i really mean it. They make their rolls sooo crunchy so make sure to eat it ASAP. I love the bay scallops here.SOOOO good.especially the fact you could taste all the flavors. If you wanna try, you should get the sets. My only complaint is how slow service here is. It takes a bit for them to make your next rolls. So im alittle impatient especially when i want to try the next rolls. I also love anything yuzu so check out their sea bream and crab rolls. The flavors are definitely there!

Yelp
Went to check out Mosonori for lunch last week and we had a lovely experience. The space and 31-seat bar are stunning! I appreciate that they have lunch hours because this is not really a place you can bring your baby/kids since it's bar seating only. My husband and I has a lunch date while our son was at school and it was perfect. It was very quiet for lunch with only one other couple in there at the time. You're given a paper menu and a pencil to mark your selections for the sushi chef to prepare. I opted for the 5-hand roll set menu which includes hamachi, bay scallop, akami, crab, and toro. I also added the hamachi sashimi tasting. My husband went with the Moso omakase which includes Chef Henry Moso's top picks -- hamachi tasting, yamaimo (Japanese yam), lobster, akami, toro, and eel. We both really enjoyed the hamachi tasting which is served with ponzu and serrano peppers for a little kick. My favorite hand rolls were the akami (spicy tuna) followed by the toro (fatty tuna). My husband really liked the crab and eel hand rolls. I probably could have eaten 1 more but decided to hold off since we were grabbing dessert afterward. It's definitely on the pricier side for lunch, but I look forward to going back and trying a few more rolls in the future!

Yelp
Flavor: mad tasty hand rolls! Fresh roll by roll, eat as soon as they put it down for optimal seaweed crunch and overall flavor. Comparable and trying to be KazuNori (original hand roll bar in Los Angeles) or Tekka in Las Vegas. Great work by the team at mosonori... very delicious and quality ingredients. We did the six hand roll set and it's a great journey. Service: very attentive, super friendly - will answer all your questions... really cool to watch the chefs work, and deliver directly to you. Location & Parking: free parking, and lot extends behind the building Price: $$$ but absolutely getting what you pay for in quality, flavor, experience, and service. Is it whats up? Very much so. It's whatsuponori for sure

Yelp
I'm so happy to have a place like this in Orlando. Having moved from LA, I was missing this style of hand rolls, so this definitely makes me miss the food there a little less. I've been a few times now and have yet to get something I didn't like. The sushi chefs always put in a good amount of filling and the servers were sweet and attentive every time. They recently added a soft serve that comes with miso caramel, and it was so good
google avatar

Mai T.

Yelp
Had the chance to check them out right after then opened. The ambiance and space was great and the menu was perfect. I love how it was nicely curated and just the right amount of options to choose from. Definitely will be a place I would go back to. Service was a little so-so. The workers were nice and what not, but near the end I felt like they were ready for us to leave. I had the 6 piece handroll selection and they didn't know which roll I was on until I asked. I am a more slower eater; they wait till you finish a roll then bring out the next.

Yelp
Okay I'm obsessed with Mosonori! This is definitely one of the hottest new spots in Winter Park! I came for dinner with my girlfriends and we had an amazing experience! Upon arrival, I was seated immediately and given a purse hook for my bag. I was served cold mineral water. The entire interior is gorgeous. The classy touches really elevated the experience! Our server Savanah was lovely. She explained the restaurant concept and how to order. To drink, I had the Aga Punch, which has lovely yuzu, lavender, and lemon flavors. It was perfectly balanced and so pretty! For my starter, I got the salmon. The quality of the fish is stunning and it practically melts in your mouth. My friend got the toro tartare and it was also fabulous. The truffle flavor was complex and rich. For my main meal, I opted for the Moso Omakase, which comes with the hamachi tasting, yamaimo, lobster, akami, toro, and eel. They hand roll everything and serve it to you as it's ready. My favorite bite of the night was the hamachi. It is truly decadent! I also really loved the toro, akami, and lobster. While those were stand outs to me, I truly loved the entire experience. I liked how the hot eel was the last bite. I will say, I really disliked the yamaimo because I found it slimy, but it was obvious to me that the ingredients are very high quality. My dislike of it was just personal preference. Overall, I would absolutely do this again! The Moso Omakase was the perfect amount for food for me. I also felt like the prices were very reasonable! The service, atmosphere, and food quality is truly elite!

Yelp
This was my first time to a hand roll bar, I've only had hand rolls from a friend who liked making them. Although everything was raw, it was delicious! I got the pre set of 6 hand rolls and loved each one. Our server was very kind and patient. The lighting was dim and it was a very intimate setting with limited seats. This is perfect for a date night or outing with your friends.
google avatar

Benjamin N.

Yelp
I visited this place on New Years Eve and surprisingly I did not have to wait at all. When you walk in the host will greet you and take you to your seats. They also have a coat hanger that is right in the front that you would have to ask for. First the service was great and amazing. We had 2 servers who were very nice and attentive to our needs like getting more pickle ginger or refilling our teas. Now to the food, I got a few things for dinner such as the 6 hand roll set, unagi (eel) hand roll, Madai (sea bream) hand roll, toro tartare, and salmon tasting. I really like the salmon tasting and tuna tartare. It had lots of flavor that compliments the fresh fish. The hand roll was also great as the fish was fresh and the hand roll a little bit of flavor. However, I wished that the crab and lobster hand roll had a little more flavor and it's was just like eating into a shredded up crab and lobster meat. My favorite was the unagi hand roll as the unagi came out hot and had the most flavor. The atmosphere was really nice and it wasn't loud from any music.
google avatar

John M.

Yelp
Very excellent fish. hand rolls hit the spot, soft shell crab roll could've used more yuzu. Very friendly staff as well service was top notch. Toro tartare was the same as kabooki so excellent. Decor was very intimate as well perfect for couples but please you have to be able eat sashimi non cooked fish if you want to really enjoy this restaurant.
google avatar

Rigo A.

Yelp
They don't reservations and that might the be the only negative thing about this place because everything is fresh and delicious and the menu is fantastic. If you're thinking about going. Stop and just go
google avatar

Stephanie I.

Yelp
This is really more of 3.5 stars. I came for lunch because I wanted to avoid the crowd. The rolls were good. The price was good. Service was a little too good...leave me alone for a little bit please. It's a beautiful restaurant. I would definitely eat here again when I'm in the area.
google avatar

Yelp
One of my new favorite spots! The fish is amazing quality and so fresh (I don't say this about many places). Great concept, location, decor, and service. During the day, the light shines in, their playlist really grooves, and it's a whole vibe. The people there are genuinely nice. Their tastings (salmon with ponzu, Serrano, and yuzu oil and the toro tartare with truffle ponzu, bubu arare, and takuwan) are all really good. My favorite hand rolls so far are the lobster (mentaiko mayo), eel (kabayaki sauce), and sea bream (yuzu oil). I recommend getting the eel handroll last because it's hot, has some sweetness, and it's really comforting (like a hug at the end of the meal). Make sure you eat the eel handroll immediately after being served or the nori will get soggy. I forgot to mention they get extra points for carrying Funaguchi gold sake. I'm hoping they start carrying the Funaguchi aged red sake too.
google avatar

Alina P.

Yelp
The interior was absolutely stunning! I loved that guests could choose between Omakase or à la carte options, it really caters to everyone. I went with the 6 hand rolls combo, and the tuna hand roll was my favorite. The service was just as impressive as the food. Our hostesses were so sweet and attentive, making the experience even more enjoyable. This spot is perfect for a romantic date night or catching up with friends.

Yelp
Holy gawd, this place is so good. I really feel like that's all I need to say. Just go here. But, be careful, it's SUPER easy to let the check get away from you, haha. But here's why: Ambience and atmosphere is perfect for chatting with the staff and friends. The food is incredible and so much fun to order. You can stretch out a meal with the small plates coming slowly and you can easily add more if you were still hungry. Everything also comes out completely fresh and you can partake quickly and enjoy it exactly how it's meant to be, knowing you have more to come. My friends who had the cocktails really enjoyed their drinks, and ended up ordering more. Their green tea was fantastic as well. I've never tasted fresher fish. And the nori is subtle, not overpowering. I personally don't like seaweed, so the fact that I kept ordering hand rolls tells you a lot about how good this food is. Things to note: it's a U shaped bar with chairs without backs. So, seating is "limited" and may lead to long wait times as they become more popular. Gratuity of 18% is included. Chef Moso has really done an amazing job adding to his repertoire of restaurants. This place is slightly more casual then Kabooki and less frills, but it makes it so perfect for a lunch or night out where you get amazing food without all the to-do.

Yelp
I thoroughly enjoyed mosonori. When we walked in, we were greeted by a hostess who got us seats at the sushi bar. It was very intimate, chefs making the sushi right in front of us. They give you a card to check off what you want to order (both drinks and sushi). I ordered an espresso martini and some sushi. The servers were extremely attentive, and really made us laugh. I usually like my privacy when dining, but they didn't feel too intrusive. The salmon plate was by far my favorite dish of the night. The hand rolls were also amazing, but the salmon sashimi was just out of this world fresh and perfectly seasoned. This place is suuuuuper chill. I'll be back.

Yelp
I was so excited to come here and try Chef Henry's new restaurant and everything was beyond expectations. I really enjoyed the walk in style restaurant and appreciate the no reservations. Also, I really enjoyed not having a timed dinning experience. Some of my favorite sushi places have a max on time and we were very pleased to find we could eat, enjoy, and then order more. Honestly a massive PLUS! Now the food. The freshest fish and simple fresh ingredients. I enjoyed every dish and all the fresh hand rolls. The sashimi dishes were a perfect start and a perfect portion. We also really enjoyed having Pedro guide us through the menu, educate us on saki, and make us feel welcome. Mosonori is a treasure and we're happy to have you in Winter Park!

Yelp
Chef Henry Moso is the magician behind Kabooki Sushi. Now he brings the quick service hand roll concept to Orlando. The secret to hand rolls is temperature and timing. The rice must be at the perfect temperature, the nori wrapper fresh from the warming box to ensure its crispness, and the whole assemblage delivered within seconds. Of course Mosonori nails this perfectly. I would expect nothing less from Chef Henry. We attended the first night of the public preview, and service was already perfection. The friendly staff filled the place in minutes and made sure everyone was having a great time. The menu focuses on about a dozen items, nearly all of them hand rolls. They can be ordered ala carte, or grouped into various combinations. All were excellent, but my favorites were the Yamaimo (a crispy white yam seasoned with spicy mentaiko [pollock roe]) and the eel, which was beautifully flambéed. Pricing is extremely reasonable. Beverages will be limited to sake, beer, and some sake cocktails. Chef Henry is not just a master chef, he also has a brilliant sense of decor, and Mosonori is a truly beautiful restaurant. I understand it will also be open for lunch, and perhaps all afternoon, which would be a great way to above what I'm sure will be a line of people waiting to get into this great new concept. Note: Exterior signage is not up yet, but it's unit A of City Place. Parking is available immediately north of the space, so don't turn in to the south, or you can't get to it.

Yelp
50$ lunch, this place was on my list to try for a while. The hamachi appetizer pictured was truly the only thing I liked. I tried three hand rolls the scallop, clam & salmon. Super lackluster, I expected a lot from this place and the quality of the fish was not great, considering how expensive it was. The hand rolls were also super small. The cold brew espresso martinis saved me however they were outstanding, I would come back only for these. I had high expectations and was definitely disappointed with the quality. The ambience and personal setting was a nice touch.

Yelp
This restaurant is borderline fraud. It depends on you as the customer not knowing good sushi. The restaurant is an almost exact copy of kazunori, a hand roll place from LA, but with the key difference being that their food is amazing and this is crap. The fish here is pre-cut into cubes like it's a glorified Poke restaurant (except I've had higher quality fish at Poke). But the worst part to me was the blatant lying. The 'toro' has oil mixed in. Why? Because it's just maguro chopped up and they need to add a fatty flavoring due to cheaping out on actual toro (this wasn't even chutoro). But the worst offender was the "A9 wagyu" handroll for $14. I guarantee that if you go in the back there's no imported beef. First off, A9 isn't a Japanese grade, it's an Australian beef grade. But this was NOT that grade. They slice it thin and overcook it to a crisp and again add oil because there's NO marbling. Honestly they should just add cheese whiz and label it a Philly cheese steak handroll as a food truck cheese steak is the same quality taste and texture beef. And that's fine if that's what they marketed it as. But this is a restaurant that depends on you not knowing the difference so they can get away with charging you very expensive prices for food quality that would be three stars at half the price in a food truck. The ambiance is nice, but it's the misdirection to make you think you are getting better food than you really are. Stay away. Go get Poke or get actually good sushi at a number of the other places nearby. Don't be a sucker. This is a total con and honestly felt like an insult to my palate expecting me not to notice it was dressed up subpar fish and beef. (Also, they had 4 wait staff and only one food prepper for 20 customers which led to ridiculous wait times that meant I had to sit with the barely edible taste in my mouth even longer.)

Yelp
Incredibly fresh and delicate fish, perfectly cooked sushi rice, and crispy nori calls for five stars. The bar that fills the space is very cool and can be casual or fancy depending on your vibe for the night! Food comes out quick and is made right in front of you. Service is attentive and friendly, and 4-5 hand rolls cost ~$50, a steal for this quality.

Yelp
Orlando-Finally got to try this "hand roll" sushi restaurant. Neither one of us had ever been to this type of restaurant. It was very low-key, but beautiful inside. A super cool vibe. Unfortunately, it was a little bit underwhelming, as far as the hand rolls go. I may be in the minority here when I say that it was just a little predictable and boring. We tried quite a few rolls and a couple of other items on the menu. We both agreed that it was very fresh and pretty tasty. We definitely feel like it was a one and done for us. We like more variety and the ability to tweak the ingredients if needed.

Yelp
My friend and I came by to check out the newest sushi bar that has opened in the Winter Park area. We went during a weekday so it was fairly quiet inside, which was great for us since they don't take reservations. Once we were seated our server at the bar went over how the menu works, covered specials, and made some great recommendations! I'm normally not a hand roll fan but these were really good, and I like hoe they are presented here instead of being served like a cone! My favorite roll of the night was the Wagyu roll. It was nice and flavorful and SO fresh! I also had the scallop roll, shrimp roll, and the hamachi cold tasting! Everything tasted beautiful, and I love a good cold tasting so it's all up my alley! To drink I ordered a hot sake to warm me up after being out in the cold . I'd love to come back again for another lowkey girls night and check out their omakase next!

Yelp
We had been waiting for this to open and finally went for lunch on a Sunday. There were about 8 people so it ended up being an intimate and chill experience. We each ordered from the set menu (4 rolls) and the salmon tasting. It was great to see everything prepared with such precision and quality. We were tempted to keep ordering, but glad we didn't because it was the perfect amount and we enjoyed every bite.

Yelp
Mosonori blew me away! This is an amazing spot for some super fresh sushi. They encourage you to eat your sushi handrolls right away as that is when it tastes the best and you get the crispy seaweed so it doesn't get soggy. It's really an art crafting these individually, and is cool to watch right in front of you. I started off with the Aga punch which was light and tasty. Perfect amounts of lavender and lemon and complimented the sushi tastings. I also ordered the toro tartare which was incredible. I loved the hints of truffle in it. Lastly, I had the moso omakase that was amazing. My favorites out of the tasting was the toro, lobster and eel. It is a little pricey, but for the whole experience it is very intimate and the fresh fish is amazing I'd say it's worth the price. I'd definitely recommend Mosonori and will be returning.

Yelp
We stopped by for lunch and this place did not disappoint! The food was fantastic and the service was amazing as well. I did the set menu with four rolls and my boyfriend did al a carte. Every roll we got was amazing but my favorite was the crab hand roll. I would highly recommend this spot if you are in the area

Yelp
I'm always down for hand roll sushi and this place doesn't disappoint. There is another hand roll sushi spot downtown that is divine and this place comes to a close second favorite. The prices are reasonable and the freshness of the food is excellent. The only drawback that I have is that the rolls are cylinder shaped, leaving the food to fall out of the bottom and on the plate or table. For drinks we had the espresso martini and the sparkling sake( refreshing). For food, we had the toro appetizer and 6 roll option and everything was good except for the toro. The texture was too mushy and they didn't serve it with anything that had any texture to make up for the softness of the fish. I would avoid that if you're a texture person and shoot for an option that doesn't have the toro. The flavors were good but that's my opinion. Try this place out if you haven't had a hand roll. It's a great beginner spot.

Yelp
Such a welcomed addition to the neighborhood! My husband & I dined there last night and had a fabulous experience. We shared the tuna tartar cold tasting and it was TO DIE FOR! If you've been to Kabooki and had the Maduro Truffle it has a similar flavor, but much different texture and presentation. I enjoyed 4 hand rolls and my husband had 5. My top 3 were the toro, crab, and salmon but my husband's favorite was the scallop.

Yelp
Great service and ambiance! Plenty of parking! It's a bar style restaurant, no separate tables. Hard to understand menu at the beginning and next thing you know, you are eating with your hands. Yes, your hands without utensils or chop sticks. Not my style of restaurant. The food quality is good, unfortunately, you will leave hungry after spending a lot of $$$ for so little food and delicious drinks with lots of ice. I went home afterwards and ate something to supplement my dinner.

Yelp
Hubby and I came to visit during the lunch hour on a weekday. We found the restaurant to be quiet, yet modern. I appreciate that the whole focus is the seating in the center where the rolls are prepared. The food is above par and as fresh tasting as can be and because the rolls are not overloaded with rice, the fish really stands out. The draw for me is the simplicity of it all. My favorite roll was the Crab Roll which highlighted the sweetness of the crab. The staff were all very attentive and I really appreciated their explanations and descriptions of the various rolls and dishes. Everything, from the service given, seating area arrangement, and the food preparation, are done with intentionality. This is a place where you can just savor the food, talk quietly, or just think while you eat without a lot of distraction. Very relaxing... and delicious.

Yelp
What a great concept! This small plaza has been built during the pandemics, and I think Mosonori just brings it alive. The U-shape half a bar, half a communal dining table is the very dinning room. Literally. But if you look for great set of sushi handrolls, great drinks, and great services, this is it. It is brought to you by the same group that has successfully operated a well known sushi restaurant. The simple menu is divived into the pre-fixed menu or a la carte. Going with the pre-fixed items, ranging from 2 to 6 handrolls, you trust the sushi chef who rolls them in front of you. There is an origami paper matt, where the chef will deliver the handrolls, one at a time to you. He lets you know what it is. Some a la carte items are sashimi salads, and the server will serve you. Patrick, our host today, was super friendly and approachable. He greeted and seated everyone. He called regular guests by their names. Patrick told us that they opened just a little over a month and plan to open soon another in Sand Lake area. We, father and son, enjoyed our lunch over a shared jar of warm sake, two pre-fixed sets, and two a la carte items. 18% tips were automatically added, totaling $105, not bad and very Winter Park appropriate. I still have 2 things. All handrolls are delivered with the same look of, the seaweed wrap roll. I wish there is a way to show the inner colorful and fresh ingridients. Maybe that is a challenge for the concept designer. Our server presented the handheld device as the check while I was still eating my last piece of extra ginger which she offered, then while Input down my chopsticks to pull out my plastic card, she cleared out the rest. If she waited for maybe just one more minute, that would be a perfect dining experience, but I got it. It was lunch on a Thursday and people were waiting in line though we only spent barely an hour. Well, it is still a 5-star review from me. Arigato gozaemas!

Yelp
Amazing experience! Called 15 minutes before hand and we were immediately sat upon arrival. Very chic ambience, definitely somewhere you can take someone for an anniversary, birthday, or any special event. Quality was incredibly good especially for the price, not depicted in the photos but my favorite hand-roll was the razor clam, it had was spicy with a refreshing slice of cucumber in it, picking a favorite was hard since everything was very very good, definitely coming again!

Yelp
Absolutely blew my mind. #1 handroll place I have ever been to - not only in Orlando but in general.

Yelp
I got the 6 hand rolls. My favorite were the lobster and toro, but all were good. I would like the hand rolls to have a bit more flavor, but the quality is great! The place is very nice and the server was helpful.
