"Mother’s Ruin is the Chicago outpost of a popular N.Y. bar that delivers on making this classy dive feel like a welcoming bar run by locals. Part of that welcoming vibe includes an extended happy hour 4-7 p.m. every day including from some criminally underrated food, including a tasty burger ($10) and spicy chicken or falafel sliders ($5). Drink specials include $10 glasses of wine, $7 cocktails, and a $5 canned beer and shot special.
