Motorino Pizza

Definitely one of the best pizzas in Manhattan! We had the super spicy “pepperoni”, as well as a bit of wine. The pizza is a thin but strong crust, perfect for holding and folding. I honestly could eat 2, it’s so good!

The best pizza in NYC, I guarantee it. I've tried more than 15 pizza places in Manhattan and Brooklyn. I ordered an extra spicy soppressata pizza with grilled peppers on top, and it was mind-blowing. The dough was very chewy and puffy. My husband ordered a sausage pizza with mushroom toppings, and both were really good.

We’ve been here a couple of times and loved it. We got the prosciutto di Parma pizza and beet salad today, amazing 10/10. Pizza had the perfect crust and the beet salad was so fresh and delicious. We’ll be coming again!

I had a 15 person birthday dinner at Motorino EV and it was wonderful! They provided a three course family style meal and the food was plentiful (so much so that they sent us home with 8 extra pizzas) and our wine glasses were always full. One guest had a gluten allergy and the manager went above and beyond to make sure she had plenty of food and offered alternatives for her. The service was amazing and I would highly recommend anyone to host a big dinner there. Thank you for the wonderful night!

Incredible food. The burrata was some of the best i’ve ever had. The meatball pizza was amazing as well! Would definitely come back, some of the best pizza in New York City.

This was a cute little pizzeria and I loved how you can see the pizza being baked in the wood oven fire. The pizza dough was a bit chewy but the ingredients on the pizza was super fresh! More sauce could’ve been added to the pizza. Overall, it was an alright experience and a great place for dinner with friends.

Pizza was crunchy and not burnt. The toppings were fresh and delicious. Service was attentive and friendly. I took my dad here for Father's day and it was a success. My dad left very happy and very full.

Heard about this spot on the best of the US pizza list from a few years ago, so my SO and I went. The dough is fantastic, by far the best part of the pie. Sauce and toppings were solid, and the cheeses were top notch. Also, wildly fast service - in and out under an hour.

We ordered the soppressata piccant pizzas,not being a big fan of pizza, I am pleasantly happy with these delicious authentic pizzas,even through the mail on lce,absolutely delicious...We are reccomending these to our friends and family...

I had the fennel salad to start. The dressing and orange slices were delicious, although the fennel could've been sliced a lot thinner. The margarita Pizza was great, made my mouth water. Perhaps the crust could've been a bit crispier, over-all, quite an authentic brick oven pie. It's a sweet little restaurant for taking a date, but the night I went, there was a table for a pre-wedding celebration of 14 women. So their overall "happiness" was a bit too loud for the size of the place. I'll definitely return. It's a great East Village spot.

The best cold pizza in Manhattan. I have never once had pizza from here that was warm, much less hot. So maybe it is supposed to be cold. We are less than a mile away, and the delivery guy takes about tem minutes maximum. I do wonder what it tastes like warm. Oh and it is such a privilege to get a tiny piece of Tiramisu for $12. Before January 2020 prices were lower and portions were bigger.

Such a cute little pizza place. We went early on a Friday and was able to get a table. We tried 3 pizzas and their meatball appetizer. Definitely would recommend pizza.

Made a reservation a few days ahead of time, but there wasn't really a need to as there were seats available as we went in on a Thursday night. Ordered three pizzas to be shared among five people, and it was more than enough. Crust was soggy. It couldn't hold up the cheese and sauce. It was a little gummy due to all the moisture. The end of the crust were okay because it wasn't soaked. Margherita was good, a classic. Soppressata picante wasn't really spicy at all. I liked the cremini mushroom. It was a white pie. I liked that there was saltiness from the olives. The mozzarella had a lot of moisture because the crust was also soggy. It's decently priced as it was less than $20 per person after tax and tip. It was very filling as well just wasn't the best slice I've had in NYC.

Arguably the next pizza in the neighborhood, the margarita is my personal favorite, literally only minutes to come out piping hot out of their fabulous oven!

It's been years since I went to the original Motorino in Brooklyn and today we were near the East Village one and decided to go in and have their lunch special. It was very quiet (it's right before Christmas) but we didn't feel uncomfortable in an almost empty restaurant. The room is very nicely done, it's very 'East Village', long and narrow, clean and bright with the pizza oven at the back. Service was excellent, staff were very accommodating and friendly. The lunch deal is a green salad with any pizza for $17. It's a very good deal. The green salad was a good one, a variety of fresh leaves, nicely dressed and a generously sized portion. The pizzas are excellent. The dough is light and soft, the ingredients are high quality, with very good mozzarella, meats, fresh herbs etc. They taste like pizza I have had in Italy. Motorino is my new favorite pizza spot. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and they have deals not only on lunch but on takeout (currently 'buy two, get three'). Highly recommend for the food and it's a cute spot for a date night too!

1/1 Ambience; 1/2 Food; 1/1 Service; 1/1 Value Motorino is a really charming and welcoming Italian restaurant that is great for casual dates or a nice get together with friends or family. This is brick oven pizza, and the kitchen is open so you can see your pizza being prepared and fired. The restaurant is maintained nicely, and the staff is warm, friendly, and quick. We went for a weekend lunch and we were seated quickly despite it being somewhat busy. My friend and I both got the margherita ($20). The crust and undercarriage were light and blistery the way I prefer it, but the flavors fell short being rather bland. The pizza, however, tasted fresh in terms of ingredients and served hot from the oven. Overall, it was a nice experience in a cute restaurant with friendly staff serving up pizza at a good value taking their large portion sizes into account.

Really great spot in EV for a delicious Neapolitan style pizza. It's small inside but very cozy and their staff are always very friendly. Don't overthink it too much, pizza is the way to go here. I'd say if you're hungry you can take down one of the pies yourself. Love the meatball and amatriciana pizzas. The dough is perfect for a Neapolitan pizza, has a good chew, a little crisp, and is thin without being too floppy.

I did Uber eats from here on a stormy night, while I was craving for some carbs. I got mozzarella and peppers (oily and not seasoned, hard pass!), white pizza with prosciutto (the best thing) and tiramisu (buy it from Whole Foods instead, the crust was not even wet from the coffee mix - hard pass again!). I might come here for in person dining at some point, but never doing delivery again.

You know the pizzas are legit when you can see the domed pizza oven through the window. Motorino is a small restaurant but it has a very inviting warmth to it. It feels like a very familiar setting although I've never set foot in the place. I was able to place my takeaway order in person and leave within minutes. The cremini mushroom pie is packed with flavor. Where to begin? They are generous with the mushrooms as I was using every ounce of my dexterity to prevent the mushrooms from falling off the slice. It had perfect amount of salinity and sausages and the olives were not overwhelming. This is definitely one of my favorite mushroom pizzas in New York. It is definitely pricier than the other mushroom pizzas in the vicinity but you get what you pay for here.

I received the pizza from Gold belly this afternoon and it was mushy and the cold packs were warm. I'm afraid to eat the pizza ordered three and it was a waste of money.

I'm not a big fan of pizza but this place is great, highly recommend the clam white pizza and the amatriciana red pizza

I've been craving pizza this week and instead of ordering in, I wanted it fresh out of the oven, so I stopped by Motorino's in person end of day. I ordered roasted artichoke to start and a cherrystone clam pizza. The artichoke was delicious. The capers and lemon vinaigrette paired perfectly. It was pretty meaty. I'd order this again in a heartbeat. The clam pizza however was a bust. It was swimming in juice and was very soggy. They offered to remake it but I was already done with a slice and getting full. I thought when I bring it home, pop it in the oven and crisp it up, it'll be better. On the walk home I started feeling nauseous and my stomach was uneasy. I don't think I'll eat the leftover pizza..I'm afraid that was the culprit. I was feeling really good until then and wanted to come back to try more but not sure anymore. Bummed about this experience.

Food: one of my favorite pizza places in the city. Get their margarita and skip the pugliese. The meatballs also should not be missed. Service: good service, with nice, quick, and friendly servers. Ambiance: simple restaurant with a good number of tables and typically room for walk ins without waiting. This is a bit more upscale than some pizza places. Good place to come to sit and eat a good quality pizza.

This is the best delivery gourmet pizza I've tried so far! Amatriciana Pizza - $17.5 (5/5) This was so gooood. You can really tell the cheese is high quality because of its deep flavor without being oily. The dough is perfect and there's enough toppings too! Beware tough cause it is spicy!!!! I am good with spice but was still shocked by how spicy this pizza was. It made it taste even better for me though! 100% will recommend!

This place was a recommendation from a friend who lives locally. Oh my goodness, the pizza was indeed amazing. We cannot stop thinking about it now that we are back in LA. I think we're ruined for all other pizza. The dough is perfection. The crust wood fired and thin but not too thin. The meatballs were to die for. The fennel salad was refreshing and kept me from feeling like a total carb and cheese coma was going to hit me. The margarita pizza was the hands down favorite.

this place was awesome!!!!! We started with the buffalo mozzarella and fresh peppers which was honestly DELICIOUS!!! i got the sopreseta pizza with fresh HOT peppers and OMG it was SO GOOD!!! the sauce and cheese was just so fire and it was honestly EXACTLY what i wanted!!!!! oh and it was PERCECTLY spicy!! ok and then my fiancé got the white pizza, and i don't even like anchovies and it was BOMB. this was a cold pizza but so refreshing and SO much flavor. it was so mediterranean. omg we definitely picked the perfect two pizzas. it was so clean and comfy inside and the servers were super friendly and nice!!!

So I occasionally order pizza from this place, as in my opinion, it's one of the top five Neapolitan pizzas in all of Manhattan. The fact that this is pretty close to my apartment is also a big win. Today was not the best day for me, and I had told them that in the notes. They proceeded to make my pie in the shape of a heart and write the word love in basil. Even if their pizza wasn't one of the best in New York, This would make me continue to order from them time and time again. Thank you!!

The meatballs are sensational - airy and tender and beautifully flavored with perfect, crispy, chewy crusts to mop up the red sauce and peccorino. The Brussels sprout pizza is creamy and savory, with the smokey pancetta playing perfect compliment to the creamy fior di latte. The crust wasn't quite as perfect as what got served with the meatballs (it could have used slightly more char and blistering for me) but was still texturally excellent with light crunch giving way to satisfying chew. The sopressata piccante married that crust with bright tomato sauce, salty sopressata, chilis, and fresh herbs. Another great pie that I'll undoubtedly want to have again.

I'm Italian and I think this is one of the best pizzas (Neapolitan style) in NYC. When I crave for Italian pizza, I go there :-P Highly recommended

We did some research and landed on Motorino as it seemed to have all the things we wanted in an NYC pizza experience. Namely - fresh, authentic menu and a wood-fired oven capable of crisp, charred dough. We arrived on a Monday in between lunch and dinner, and were the only table. We were promptly attended to and the service was excellent. The place was clean and comfortable. We tried their meatballs, roasted artichokes, and fennel salad to start, followed by an Amatriciana and Margherita pizza to share. The meatballs were excellent, as was the artichoke. The fennel salad was fresh and had great flavor but suffered in the execution. The fennel itself was sliced pretty thick, and made for difficult eating. Fennel is a pretty hardy vegetable, and needs to be shaved thin if served raw. The dressing was great, but there were not enough oil-cured olives or orange segments to go around, so a quarter-way into the salad and you're just chomping on really thick fennel without any of the interesting flavor combination that made the salad work. As for the pizzas (and the main reason we chose the place) we were disappointed. Again - all the ingredients were spot on but the execution fell flat. The dough was fresh, flavorful, and really light and airy. The sauce was bright and acidic with some sweetness and also very light - not a cooked-down, simmered thick ragú. The cheese was fantastic, very fresh and sweet. When they arrived, the outer crust looked nicely charred. However, the cheese clearly contained a good of moisture, as did the sauce, and either the quantity or distribution was off because the underside was underdone, and the toppings had turned the interior to a hot lake of cheese, oil, and tomato. The slices were wet and floppy. I realize that we came in during the slowest period of a slow day, and maybe the oven wasn't as hot or the staff was distracted getting ready for the evening... but we still spent the same money and we don't get into the city often, so it was a disappointment nonetheless.

This place was amazing! The staff was beautiful and helpful and the pizza, the meatballs and wine was amazing!!! My favorite was the mushroom and the Don Dom. A must try when visiting. It was a cute hidden gem.

Pretty good brick oven pizza! Not the most amazing pizza I've ever had, but it hit the spot. I ordered the Meatball pizza. The pizzas are big, so you could probably split one with someone if you aren't starving. This place is in a nice area.

The best place for a clam pizza. Their crust is super fluffy and been coming here for years- and service is always friendly and just the best damn good cherry stone clam pizza. I'm so glad they returned with this pizza as they discontinued it a couple months ago. I'm also a big fan of their Margherita pizza.

very cute spot in a nice part of williamsburg! popped in around 9:15 on a friday night and it was pretty empty. tried the cremini mushroom pizza and margherita. i honestly thought both were pretty good- only critique is that i didn't love the olives on the mushroom pizza so had to pick them off. i think the food here was a solid 4 stars but the service wasn't as good as the food. the waitress didn't seem like she wanted to be there and once the pizza came when they offered chili oil which never ended up coming out.

The pizza here is pretty cheesy and very saucy. The crust is a bit thicker than most pizzas, but we liked it! They are supposed to be personal sized, but they are pretty big and enough for 2 people with appetizers. I recommend the meatballs to start and the Buffalo caprese salad.

Really good, fresh ingredients, I had the Margherita. I would return. But, the salad dressing was too acidic. The pizza crust was thin, great, but it was soft, lacking that perfect slight crispness. The fresh authenticity of the ingredients and despite my pickiness about detail, I would highly recommend Motorino Pizzeria.

Such a letdown from the original location on Graham Ave in Williamsburg. We stopped in after a Bdwy matinee. The restaurant was still empty but did fill up quickly. First impression was underwhelming. It is a small, narrow uninspired space that had an off putting odor I couldn't identify. We ordered the grilled artichoke & Pugliese pizza. The artichoke would have been delicious had it not been completely undercooked. Artichokes should be tender. This was not. My companion doesn't like to send food back but we really should have. The pizza was bland, under seasoned & boring. There were a few small pieces of flavorless sausage and again, the veg - this time, rabe, was tough & undercooked. The burrata was more like a ricotta spread ( yes, I know what burrata is). The center was wet but the dough at the edges was good with a nice char. It was a warm fall night & the restaurant was uncomfortably hot. They really needed to turn the AC on. They assume you are paying with a card & automatically add a non cash surcharge instead of asking before bringing the check which seems a bit sneaky to me. Definitely a one & done for us.

As a self proclaimed pizza connoisseur--Motorino is hands down one of my go to spots in NYC. Nestled in the East Village, Motorino makes dreams come true by making the perfect brick-oven pizza. You can avoid a wait time if you pop in on a Monday -Wednesday. They also allow you to call-in orders for pickup, which is very convenient. Both the Pizza and the Salads are ridiculously tasty. I've been to both the East Village + Williamsburg Motorino locations in NYC and you can't go wrong.

Came here as the second lunch. Got the amatriciana (spicy pizza with sweet sausage). Honestly, coming here after Luzzo just did this no justice. It couldn't compare. I thought the pizza itself was good, weird that there are scallions on it as the flavor is just a bit too strong (maybe put a little bit less of the white part of scallions). Then the service just put it in the grave for me. We got there and ordered one pizza. 30 minutes later, the waitress tells us "Sorry, I actually never took your order. Can you tell me again". Thinking we'll get some sort of compensation for waiting 30 minutes for nothing, I was like "They'll take care of us so no need to worry". Saw the check...and no discount, no sorry from the waitress. Yea...that's going to be a no for me. Pizza itself probably 3 stars, but the whole experience just put me in such a sour mood.

I live close to Motorino, but it took me a long time to try it. And it's excellent! Very charming little spot, the ordering and pickup was super easy. Very polite employees. The pizza is incredible! I got the pepperoni and it was the perfect size for one. Super, super delicious. There are a lot of pizza choices in this neighborhood (duh), but absolutely give this place a try! From a critical New Yorker- the pizza is excellent!

Been wanting to come here for years and it did NOT disappoint. The ROASTED ARTICHOKE (whole artichoke / garlic & caper lemon vinaigrette) is a must and extra dipping sauce is a nice thing to dunk your crust into. The MIXED GREENS were huge and delicious... but the pizzas!!! The MARGHERITA (red pizza) was a classic all around with tomato sauce / fior di latte mozzarella / basil / pecorino / e.v. olive oil / sea salt. Simplicity is all you need with this one. We then went a bit more decadent on the second pie and got the BRUSSELS SPROUT (white pizza) with fior di latte mozzarella / garlic / pecorino / smoked pancetta / e.v. olive oil / brussel sprout leaves. Phenomenal. I will dream of these pies!

Motorino has quality Neopolitan Pizza. As a chain, they may not be the most unique or distinctive option in New York, but their pizzas are still worth a try. Their menu is quite diverse and the assortment of toppings they offer are fresh and flavorful. If you are looking for a well made Neopolitan pizza with quality ingredients and fast pizza, Motorino is a safe option. Unfortunately, I don't think it compares to nearby Lil Frankie's on First Street and First Avenue, which remains my favorite Neopolitan pizza in New York, but Motorino is still well above average. It will not disappoint. I want to give special thanks to Austin, who was an outstanding waiter. Everything was fast and he was very gracious and attentive. Cremini Mushroom (4.5/5): Their Cremini Mushroom was delicious. It had a great assortment of flavors and textures. Their mozzarella went very well with the sweet sausage and cremini mushrooms. It comes with large gaeta olives which also greatly enhanced the flavor profile of the pizza. If you love White pizza as much as me, this is a great option to consider. Volva (4/5): Their Volva pie is another great option. You can tell their pepperoni slices are of a far better quality than most pizza places because they have an incredible spicy, smoky, and sweet flavor. Similarly, their tomato sauce was great. It did not overwhelm the pizza. If you are looking for a premium variation of a pepperoni pizza, this is a great choice!

In all fairness I've never actually eaten there, just ordered delivery a few times, but I've been remarkably and reliably unimpressed. First of all, NY is no stranger to good pizza. And cheap pizza at that. So something about charging $20+ for these tiny, appetizer-sized pizzas strikes me as particularly audacious. First, the pizzas aren't inventive. If your niche is pricey craft pizza, then do it right and really get creative (eg the Bee Sting ya Roberta's). Or, just be BETTER. None of the elements that make good pizza are there. Sauce? Eh. Cheese? Nothing notable. Crust? Close but not quite. The char is there, but something is missing. Again, at $20+ for a below average pizza that can barely feed one, I'm left wondering how Motorino can stay in business in a city filled with great options. Go to Roberta's, go to L'Industrie...heck, go to the dollar pizza place around the corner. 2 stars because delivery has always been reliable and on time.

Came here for lunch and had the lunch combo. The salad was nice and leafy and I had a sopprasata super piccante pizza. It was not quite super piccante but still good.

Remarkable Brick Oven Pizza with personal dishes that are light enough on bread that you don't feel guilty eating an entire pie yourself. *Pro Tip go on Tuesday's for the buy two get one free deal! $18 a pie. 4.5/5 stars as a dinner spot.

We ordered delivery on a Sunday night from Motorino and this was our first time trying their pizza. The pizzas delivered well and the crust held up, but probably are a bit more crispy if you actually eat it at the restaurant. We tried the meatball and cherry stone clam pizzas. The meatball had nice big chunks scattered on top with mozzarella and pieces of basil. The clam pizza was different than I was expecting, as it was covered in cheese and usually clam pizzas don't have cheese. The addition of cheese actually works well with the clams though. Both pizzas were delicious and I would definitely try them again at the restaurant.

I was visiting New York and a friend took me to Motorino for dinner. I really dug the aesthetic and ambience of the place. My friend and I ordered the Cherrystone Clam (white pizza) and the Margherita (red pizza). I'd never had a clam pizza, but even having nothing to benchmark against I thought it was just ok. The margherita was on-point though and was the highlight of my meal; I highly recommend trying it out if you go. As far as portion-sizes, the pizzas are intended to be single-serving, but you could share one if you're only marginally hungry; I easily ate 3/4 of one, haha. The one downside for me was the price of the pizzas. Taking into consideration that it's a sit-down place, I did expect the prices to be higher than pay-at-the-counter joints. Nevertheless, it seemed a little pricier compared to other Neopolitan pizza places. But the margherita was *almost* worth the price.
