Absolutely rock solid good slider joint. Not the best, in my opinion, as that still belongs to Greene's Hamburgers in Farmington Hills, but that is also a subjective thing, as tastes differ person-to-person. This place has *nothing* to hang their head about, and it's quite apparent why they been around as long as they have.
Believe it or not, there is more meat on these sliders than there is on the sliders at Greene's, and I'm not complaining about that at all...Greene's could honestly stand to beef up their sliders a bit, by say, 30% or so in their normal patty. Motz's are slightly more expensive ($2 each, as opposed to Greene's $1.85 each), but you do get more for your money. The beef is good, and you get a bit in each bite that you take. As well, the onions that are fried up with the beef are quite good, and the pickles are fine, too, though I prefer Greene's pickles over these for this particular application. Were I just eating pickles to have pickles, the Motz's pickles would be the winner, but on the slider, I prefer Greene's.
Seriously, though, that's just picking nits. These are good sliders, and if Greene's is the "A" game, then these are surely "B/B+". It's more than just respectable...it's quite good. Perhaps the #2 in the area. This was my first time there, and I must say that it happily impressed me.
Also good: the people, and the facility. The folks I dealt with were respectful, polite, peaceable folk who did their jobs well. The place itself is *CLEAN*...almost surprisingly so. They keep their joint up to snuff, cleanliness-wise. You can see the entirety of the operation right there in front of you, and you're at ease that they're keeping things clean and that you're not "rolling the dice" with a place that may/may not be keeping things clean and sanitized. To me, it looks like they're doing a great job keeping the place up.
I do not know if they have a bathroom to use, as I didn't need to use it, so I can't comment on that at all. The only real difficulty with the place is that they close quite early every day: I think that it's 3 or 4PM, and that's *it*. Not even *close* to dinner service, so plan accordingly. Still, you've gotta give them credit: if they can make a go of it with truncated hours like that, you *know* they're getting things *right*.
Overall, it was a plainly positive experience at Motz's. Better than just OK, it hit on many cylinders, and while it did not dethrone the king, it's a nice contender for second place. Not to be missed if you're around there...it's nice to know it's available, and that you can count on it being rock solid good.
Always a plus in my book.
