"Mountain in Soho came out of the box as The Place To Be, thanks to its familial connection to Brat and celebrity sightings. Some of the food and open-fire cooking is very good at this two-floored, Spanish-cum-Welsh, 100-cover behemoth of a restaurant. The hype has died down enough for you to get a same-week early dinner or 8pm slot easily. "This hyped Soho restaurant is best enjoyed at one of its counters. At Mountain’s upstairs counter, you’re able to survey the room, watching sceney creative directors chow down on spider crab omelette, while ordering a plate of grilled langoustines for yourself. "Nearest Irish exit: Green Park (0.8km) It was a Saturday night in Soho. We were wearing gingham and had four more glasses of wine than intended, when we peered into the window of this dimly lit Spanish-Welsh restaurant where hot people order spider crab omelettes. And there he was, sitting next to A Guy From Stranger Things. For the first time since pretending to have a vested interest in a Tennessee Williams play, we saw Paul in a restaurant that serves £92 Friesian beef ribs. Fate is a beautiful thing.
