The 18 Best Restaurants In Deptford - London - The Infatuation

"A small bakery and coffee shop right outside Deptford station, Mouse Tail Coffee serves the kind of tempting, freshly baked pastries that’ll have you demolishing a cinnamon roll in five short, doughy-cinnamon-filled minutes. You’ll find it hard to pick one thing from the display of bakes, which ranges from sourdough loaves, to ham and emmental cheese sandwiches, and coconut pain au chocolats. It’s the perfect spot to pop in for a casual one-on-one coffee and croissant catch-up, where you can peek into the kitchen and see them shaping loaves and pulling blueberry muffins out of the oven, or for a 3pm banana bread pick-me-up. It’s open until 6pm so bringing your laptop and getting work done is very much an option." - Rianne Shlebak, Jake Oliver, Sinead Cranna, Daisy Meager

You’ll find it hard to pick one thing from the display of bakes, which ranges from sourdough loaves, to ham and emmental cheese sandwiches, and coconut pain au chocolats. The excellent pastries make us wish it was our local bakery and we're very jealous of anyone who happens to live within walking distance. Although it can get a little busy so we wouldn’t recommend jumping on a Zoom call. photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch" - Rianne Shlebak

Love the choice and quality of coffee. We had cortado and Batch(daily brew). A little pricey with cappuccino at £4.20 outside central London. Sourdough from £5.50 more reasonable. Cakes look great. Very tempting. 👍

I love coffee and I don't really like going out to get it, so this place is perfect. The atmosphere is very friendly and relaxed. Add to that the great coffee and tea selection and it's a perfect place to relax. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a good cup of coffee or tea. Plus they have a wide selection of yummy looking pastries too.

Love this place so much. Excellent coffee, delicious sandwiches and pastries. I've never once been let down. Over the years I've got to enjoy chit chat with the staff who are incredibly helpful and friendly. Recommend to anyone looking for great service and quality produce.

Delightful and well station-next-to-located crafty coffee and bake shop in Deptford, Mouse Tail Coffee offers a delightful and appetising selection of breakfast and elevenses type savoury and sweet baked treats. The all-day breakie sandwich, beautifully presented in brown wrapped paper cut in half ala Japanese style, was a tasty morsel and filled an early morning space in my tum. My partner enjoyed her egg and cheese croissant as well. Of especial note is the veggie-vegan-meaty selection as well as a range of delicious looking attisanal pizzas. The coffee was exceptional, my cortado presented in the most beautifully simple small glass cup (a miniature mug of sorts), with a talented barista’s well formed fern shape atop the foam. Being a Kiwi, I enjoyed the neat symbol reminiscent of home, Aotearoa New Zealand. Lastly, a wonderful village-community-feel ambiance: a West-Indian Street market outside (we visited in a Sunday morning), customers of all ages and backgrounds enjoying the outdoor cafe layout as well as the cosier interior with enjoyable but unobtrusive music, kids chattering and the convivial gentle cacophony of cafe conversation. The staff! Were. Brilliant! Friendly. Helpful and human incarnations of the cafe’s personality. Enjoy The Mouse Tail Cafe’s cafe and cookin’ soon! Now! Oh, and no sign of the farmer’s wife and the carving knife! 🙏🏼😋🌈🙌🏼

After my morning walk, I found this shop. They have delicious fresh pastries, though they are a bit pricey. It's a small and tidy shop with good coffee, but it's too acidic for my preference. I also wish they used dine-in dinnerware instead of disposables.

Tasty, fresh coffee next to the overground. The atmosphere is nice. I just wish the price were lower or the cup slightly bigger

Love the coffee and pastries (cinnamon knot was insane!). Service is super nice too+ there's wifi. Drawback- no access to toilet, staff don't have a card to enter the shared toilet. Please improve this guys 🙏 it would then be perfect, but having sit down cafe without toilet access is not ideal

Absolutely an amazing place. I tried their bread many times. The best one and my favorite is the one with sundried tomatoes and oregano, delicious. I like to come here on a Saturday morning, grab a coffee to go to and explore Deptfort markets and shops.
