The 18 Best Restaurants In Deptford - London - The Infatuation

"A small bakery and coffee shop right outside Deptford station, Mouse Tail Coffee serves the kind of tempting, freshly baked pastries that’ll have you demolishing a cinnamon roll in five short, doughy-cinnamon-filled minutes. You’ll find it hard to pick one thing from the display of bakes, which ranges from sourdough loaves, to ham and emmental cheese sandwiches, and coconut pain au chocolats. It’s the perfect spot to pop in for a casual one-on-one coffee and croissant catch-up, where you can peek into the kitchen and see them shaping loaves and pulling blueberry muffins out of the oven, or for a 3pm banana bread pick-me-up. It’s open until 6pm so bringing your laptop and getting work done is very much an option." - Rianne Shlebak, Jake Oliver, Sinead Cranna, Daisy Meager

Mouse Tail Coffee Review - Review - Deptford - London - The Infatuation

"A small bakery and coffee shop right outside Deptford station, Mouse Tail Coffee serves the kind of tempting, freshly baked pastries that’ll have you demolishing a cinnamon roll in five short, doughy-cinnamon-filled minutes. You’ll find it hard to pick one thing from the display of bakes, which ranges from sourdough loaves, to ham and emmental cheese sandwiches, and coconut pain au chocolats. The excellent pastries make us wish it was our local bakery and we're very jealous of anyone who happens to live within walking distance. It’s the perfect spot to pop in for a casual one-on-one coffee and croissant catch-up, where you can peek into the kitchen and see them shaping loaves and pulling blueberry muffins out of the oven, or for a 3pm banana bread pick-me-up. Although it can get a little busy so we wouldn’t recommend jumping on a Zoom call. photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch Pause Unmute" - Rianne Shlebak

Five Restaurants to Try This Weekend | Eater London

"Housed in a railway arch a short walk from the station (about 10 minutes from Bank by transport), this compact coffee spot serves a bespoke house blend roasted by Mission Coffee Works that reviewers describe as explosively good. The food menu changes daily but leans toward imaginative salads and sandwiches; standout items mentioned include an amazing quinoa and shaved fennel salad and a fantastic rocky road." - Adam Coghlan

Right by Deptford station, Mousetail sits in one of the railway arches along the little stretch that’s gradually filled up with newer cafés, bistros, and creative spots. It has that easy, slightly industrial feel, long communal tables, good natural light, and a steady flow of people coming in for takeaway or settling in with laptops. The coffee is very good here. Properly made, not over-roasted, and with enough options for those who care about how their flat white is done. There’s also a small selection of cakes and pastries, all of which looked fresh. If the weather allows, there’s outside seating, which works nicely with the trains rolling past overhead. It’s a straightforward, genuinely pleasant independent café. No fuss, no pretension, just well-made coffee and a relaxed place to sit. Given the choice between this and yet another chain, this is absolutely the one to support.

Love the choice and quality of coffee. We had cortado and Batch(daily brew). A little pricey with cappuccino at £4.20 outside central London. Sourdough from £5.50 more reasonable. Cakes look great. Very tempting. 👍

My favourite local coffee spot. Warm atmosphere, delicious bake and top notch mission coffee. I often drop by for a a hour of reading or laptop time in the sun

I love coffee and I don't really like going out to get it, so this place is perfect. The atmosphere is very friendly and relaxed. Add to that the great coffee and tea selection and it's a perfect place to relax. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a good cup of coffee or tea. Plus they have a wide selection of yummy looking pastries too.

Best coffee spot in Deptford. It’s been 2 year that I have been a regular and the team there is solid. They know what is up, always given a awesome experience and pour delicious cup of coffee. Don’t mess with them as they make my days better!

Absolutely an amazing place. I tried their bread many times. The best one and my favorite is the one with sundried tomatoes and oregano, delicious. I like to come here on a Saturday morning, grab a coffee to go to and explore Deptfort markets and shops.

After my morning walk, I found this shop. They have delicious fresh pastries, though they are a bit pricey. It's a small and tidy shop with good coffee, but it's too acidic for my preference. I also wish they used dine-in dinnerware instead of disposables.

Love this place so much. Excellent coffee, delicious sandwiches and pastries. I've never once been let down. Over the years I've got to enjoy chit chat with the staff who are incredibly helpful and friendly. Recommend to anyone looking for great service and quality produce.
