The 19 Best Restaurants in Seychelles | Eater

"Named after a style of Seychellois dance (recognized by UNESCO as intangible heritage), Moutya at the Mango House Resort is devoted to seasonal Creole cuisine, cooked with finesse and artfully plated. Moutya’s octopus kari koko (coconut curry) is a contender for best in the nation; it’s creamy, with enough spice to cut through the coconut fat and octopus tender enough to bring a happy tear to the eye. To appreciate Moutya’s subtle refinements on traditional Seychellois Creole dishes, it’s best to start with takeaways or home-cooked versions first." - Steven Rioux

We had such a lovely dinner! The surf and turf was cooked just right, the octopus curry was rich and deeply aromatic, and the red snapper curry was light, vibrant, and beautifully presented. The desserts were also a delight, a perfect way to end the meal. Special thanks to Joshua, who was incredibly friendly and attentive throughout the evening. His service made the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommended!

We booked a dinner at Moutya for a 60th birthday and had requested in advance a proper welcome gesture (e.g., a glass of champagne or a small cake). This was entirely ignored. The experience started poorly: no golf cart transfer was offered and so the birthday guest — who had an injured foot — had to walk across the property. Service was utterly unprofessional. Sparkling wine was requested; while the glasses arrived chilled, the bottle was left standing near the pizza oven and was warm by the time it was served. Bread, which other tables received without asking, took over an hour and several reminders to arrive. Ordering wine and drinks was an ordeal — many orders simply never came. Even requesting the bill turned into a long wait, and the payment was charged twice. The lobster was completely overcooked and dry. Even something as basic as mayonnaise for the fries could not be provided in under 20 minutes. For a dinner priced at around €620, this level of service is unacceptable and falls far short of what the hotel promises.

Get there before the sunset to enjoy the view. The food is amazing & restaurant just has a few tables. We were served by Stephanette, she was local and absolutely gorgeous. Starters, main course, dessert…..all yummy. Best meal we’ve had in Seychelles. The local prawns on the menu excellent! My photos not doing the meal or setting justice!

Amazing views and service. Joshua was the best. Food was alright. Not amazing to be fair, but price was decent. View and service made up for it.

My wife and I were fortunate enough to spend part of our honeymoon at Mango House resort. We spent every evening possible at Moutya, because frankly it seems to be one of the very best restaurants on all of Mahé. The location is absolutely unreal, the atmosphere is beautiful and the food is so good that it’s impossible to do it justice with words. The staff are all so friendly and professional, with a special shout-out to Stephanette and Nadia, who made sure that we had an incredible time here.
