The food was good, but unfortunately the service completely ruined the experience. My husband, my son, and I felt ignored and neglected throughout our visit. While other tables were being regularly checked on and served, we were not. We ordered the tapas with the expectation of the all-you-can-eat experience, yet we only received four plates total and were never offered refills. We also never received water. To make matters worse, the waitress confused our bill with another table’s, which added to the frustration. My son even noticed the waitress giving us looks that felt uncomfortable and unwelcoming, almost as if she was disgusted. The difference in how we were treated compared to other guests was noticeable and deeply disappointing. As people of color, the experience felt exclusionary and unwelcoming. The food has potential, but the service and overall atmosphere made us feel unwanted. I would not recommend this restaurant to people of color, as we did not feel respected or welcomed.

This is a review of the Movida restaurant. I did not stay in the hotel. I went on Christmas Day with my family for early dinner at around 4:30PM. The food was excellent. There were only a few dishes on the unlimited menu that were bum spots, those being the dishes with ricotta. The ricotta is literally just ricotta. Bland, uninspiring, not a lick of seasoning in any of the many dishes it is included in. I'm seeing a lot of reviews that mention the confusing gratuity - and even at this point, hours later, I'm unsure exactly where my money went. There is a mandatory 20% gratuity on all bills. The server explained that he doesn't see any of that money, and it instead goes to the mysterious "them". Who is them? The bar-staff? The food-runners? The owners? The guest is expected to not only foot a 20% gratuity, but tip in addition so that your server can see something. At least, that was the way it was explained. The service was excellent. For a busy day, it being Christmas and all, Giovanni was incredibly attentive and all of our food came in a timely manner. I'm a big tipper. I've worked in restaurants before. I can not reckon tipping 20% in ADDITION to the 20% I've already tipped in the gratuity. I don't understand the model. My belief now is that Giovanni was lying in order to receive a higher %. I'm still not sure, though. I wish I could be sure that ALL of my money went to the server and not in mysterious directions.

We went for New Years eve with a reservation for three. I expected there to be a wait but the wait was for over 1 hour despite the reservation. When we got to our seats the waitress seemed to be friendly at first. However, she proceeds to neglect us for the rest of the night while she serve every other table except us even though there was only 3 tables left. We availed the unlimited tapas but we felt like we did not gain the full experience because she only came to our table 4 times to deliver drinks, deliver the initial tapas, the take away boxes and the bill. She did not ask us again if we wanted more tapas even though the we have purchased unlimited tapas experience. By the time she went back to our table it was the closing of the kitchen and we could not really order much anymore. Terrible experience. I would not recommend this restaurant to anybody that wants to have a great experience for a special occasion to go here. The food was good but the experience leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

Google
We dined at Movida Spanish Tapas Restaurant yesterday. We have been there a few times and the experience is good. Our paella order was incorrect and they did return it to the kitchen and served the correct dish 30+min later. No problem. So we were there a little longer but enjoy all the dishes we ordered. But I find the cleaning staff coming out at 9pm to mop floors and start to close up unsettling. The restaurant is open until 10pm. At that point we were no longer welcome.

Google
I came in to sit at the bar for happy hour and I ended up staying for hours! I was there on a Friday night that I’d expect mixed service from how busy they were with one bar open but there was a girl and a guy bartending and both were phenomenal so attentive and so knowledgeable of the menu. They offered great recommendations and service. Will definitely be back as soon as I can! Alexis and Alfred are the best! :)

Google
The food is great. The experience is disappointing this place used to be so good. Now you can only order 3 items at a time whether you are in a party of 6 or 2. We were 6 people so 2/3 of our group had to wait for food. It was not explained well at all. Its tapas can't we just order what we want and you bring it when it's ready? The pink brunch for $25 used to include coffee and a drink, now thats extra its $25 for food only and thats alot for waffles and uninspired churro. Mandatory 20 percent tip added to every bill no matter if the service is good or not and server has to tell you she splits that so anything extra she gets directly. For dinner we ordered two tapas, two drinks per person and a couple of paella to share. $400 for 6 people. We have tried this place.for.brunch and dinner we wont be back. It used to be good but things have changed.

Google
Food was good but I am confused about the gratuity. This was dinner for just two people. My husband had tried to call for reservations but was never able to reach anyone. Perhaps they only do it online. It was a Thursday night and the place was pretty much empty. We were offered a place at the bar because we didn’t have reservations, which we didn’t mind but still wondered at because the main dining room was still mostly empty the entire time we were there from about 6:30 to after 8pm. The service was fast and friendly, the food and drinks were good but I don’t know if they were $225 good. It turns out there was a gratuity automatically added, but she wouldn’t bring back my itemized check after I gave her my card. The cc receipt had a line for another gratuity and I really wasn’t sure how to react to that. Overall it left me with a feeling of distrust in the place and a reluctance to recommend to others based on that.

Google
Movida is such a fun restaurant. The decor is simple and elegant and I've enjoyed every meal I've had with them. Its a great place for a night out with friends or a date night, and the happy hour is incredible! There are some excellent entrees, but it's also a lot of fun to order a bunch of tapas to share (or not share! ;) ) as a meal.

Yelp
Was outstanding start to finish. The hostess accommodated our seating request and the bartender Alfred was prompt to take our order and pleasant as well. Our server Giovanni was excellent, attentive, and engaging. The food was delicious to boot. Lovely date night!

Yelp
Strolled over to Movida from the Iron Horse hotel to meet up for a birthday drink and Tapas. We were absolutely Wowed! The warm staff immediately greeted us and we found plenty of seats at the bar. It was Happy hour from 4-6 so p.m. so we ordered sangrias - rose for me and reds for my family. The lovely bartender asked if we wanted to place any food orders right away and since the food was only $1, $3, and $5 during Happy Hour, we began our delightful food adventure. The food came out fast and hot, and we were reminded of each of the dishes names again by wonderful staff. It was all so tasty, so we ended up ordering just about every item on the tapas menu! My favorites were the $5 barbacoa tacos, the potatoes brava, and the cheese platter with jam. My family agreed the hot honey and mushroom toasts were their favorite. After my yummy sangria I was treated to a mezcal " old fashioned" with two types of bitters that tasted smoky and strong - I loved it. My twin and I were treated to authentic churros with a cup of chocolate for dipping and a sweet bday candle to wish upon. The experience felt straight out of Spain and made for such a special evening for us all. A little magic right here on the Southside that you've got to experience. Lovely people and a lovely little place that I cannot wait to visit again! Thank you Movida

Yelp
Went for a quick dinner on a Wednesday after an event, not feeling super hungry but wanted to eat. We only had three items but were full and didn't even finish everything we got. We got the garlic shrimp (not pictured), crab tosta and Hotel Madrid Paella. The garlic shrimp was delicious and the sauce that it came in was so so good. The crab tosta was good too, very crispy. The hotel Madrid was okay, I liked that it did have a lot of pieces of squid and shrimp. Service was quick and our server was very nice. Ambiance was nice and quiet.

Yelp
Went to Movida with two other people and we all had a great time! Food came out super quick and everything was delicious and never lacked flavor. Definitely recommend the empanadas. They were made with a puff pastry exterior which was unique and tasted great. We also loved the churros, although the chocolate sauce was just Hershey's syrup and did not taste good with it. But the churros didn't even need a dipping sauce! The grilled zucchini was a last minute add and so glad we did! It was charred so it became crunchy which paired well with the red sauce and goat cheese topping. The crab toast was interesting. Not my favorite but was fun to try still. Sliders were good but had a strange lemony flavor. Our total was roughly $100 and all 3 of us left full. Therefore I would not recommend the unlimited tapas unless you are all starving. It would have been over $150 and our sliders and churros wouldn't have even been included Overall I'm a sucker for a tapas place because I love trying a bunch of different things!

Yelp
- ok food, good service, nice ambiance - reservation made, but not needed - Would be interested in trying their dinner menu Went here after seeing their cute Pink Breakfast set-up and wanting to try some paella! I got the Pink Breakfast with the Mushroom Croquetas, Movida Paella, and Churros con Chocolate. This was served in 3 separate courses, with the Mushroom Croquetas being first. These fried balls were crunchy on the outside and extremely creamy on the inside, almost puréed. They were flavorful and very mushroomy, so it was so sad to see only 2 croquetas served. There was an aioli which also added more mushroom flavor and another texture to the dish. Afterwards, I was served the Movida Paella as my main course. This paella had plentiful amounts of large and moist chicken chunks and was a nice large helping that filled me up. The flavor was delicious, and the contrasting lemon aioli helped to cut through the denseness of the meal. I will say, there were a lot more olives than I was expecting, but I was still able to eat them without thinking too harshly of them. Finally, we were served the churros that came with a thick and rich chocolate sauce to end our meal. M'lady had gotten the Steak and Cheese Omelette without the other accoutrements. The omelette was good with its steak pieces and the potatoes were nice a crunchy; a pretty standard meal. The sauce with the potatoes helped to give them some fat and flavor, but again, nothing too crazy. The ambiance was nice with a cute upper outdoor area and the whole pink breakfast shtick. The food was pretty ok, nothing too crazy, and I felt like there were a lot of sauces added to everything which made them all a bit heavier. While I am not too sure about another brunch, I would still be interested in coming back to try their dinner menu!

Yelp
Amazing restaurant with delicious little Tapas plates. We went here for happy hour as a bonus, where everything is a dollar, three dollars and five dollars.! everything we tried was absolutely scrumptious! Our bartender went above and beyond as well, and the ambience is beautiful!

Yelp
Ambiance was nice, dark and moody, service was good and fast. We went there for Christmas Eve dinner. It is all you can eat. Plates were quite big portion for Tapas. To be honest, I wish they were smaller portion so we can try more. Paella was extra. Wish some simple desserts could be included in the meal. Two seats table was quite small, hardly can fit our dishes. Food was delicious. Service fee was a bit pricey 22% on top of that when you sign there is also an area asked for tip which I add more of course. So total cost of the meal cost a lot more than anticipated.

Yelp
Such a great place! My friend and I dined for a belated birthday. We had an early reservation and the bar area was already filled for happy hour. We were seated in the dining space near the kitchen. There is another dining room near the entrance, but I liked the main dining space better - more homey and warm. We asked our waitress for recommendations and she steered us well! We tried the tomato bread, potatoes, meatballs, coquettes, and garlic shrimp. We also shared a bottle of wine. The food was well-paced, service was kind and helpful without being overbearing. Only negative was they did acknowledge or ask if we were celebrating anything. Would return to try other items and have a cozy/classy night out!

Yelp
Went here on New Year's Eve and was impressed that they were able to accommodate a reservation for 8 people. I didn't know they had an upstairs! The food was great and we were definitely full. It was $55/person for unlimited tapas, which felt like a good price, but when you add drinks on top of that it really adds up quickly. Good for a special night, but definitely a bit on the pricier side.

Yelp
This spot is such a vibe. Recently went for the first time in a bit and ordered a handful of tapas and drinks with some girlfriends. Literally THE spot for this kind of night! We loved everything we ate and drank. First off, the piquillo pepper marg is so refreshing, not too sweet, and has the right amount of tequila & lime. Had to have two of them :) Espresso martinis and rose were among the other drinks enjoyed by my friends. For tapas we had the barbacoa tacos, mushroom tostas, patatas bravas, drunken goat plate, and mushroom croquetas. Oh and the garlic shrimp! Truly so much flavor in each dish. If I had to pick a fave it might be the bravas (crispy potato dish) because the sauce was damn good with the perf kick to it. Service was very friendly and attentive. Atmosphere and ambiance on point. Thanks for another lovely night out, Movida!
google avatar

Mikayla T.

Yelp
The tapas at Movida are one of my favorite tapas experience- mainly for the inside vibes and the portions of the tapas. Each portion is enough to share and full of flavor. Highly suggest the goat cheese balls! Perfect to take a group of girlfriends or have a fun date night. The sangria flights alternate and are always so good! The service is great and the tapas come out very fast. We usually order 2-3 and then 2-3 more.

Yelp
I met a couple of friends here based off another friend's recommendation. Anticipating a busy Friday, I booked a 5pm reservation easily and was able to be seated right away as the dining room was on the quiet side until closer to 6-7pm. I got the Piquillo Pepper Margarita as my first drink. The flavors were good and balanced. It's on me for not knowing that piquillos are a milder, sweeter pepper rather than spicy (I adore a spicy marg) but I do think those flavors came through. My friend enjoyed the red sangria and I tried the white for my second drink. Sweet and fruity, I could definitely see myself sipping on those when their patio is open and the sun is shining! We ordered the pan con tomate, manchego board, and mushroom tosta. The bread for the pan and tosta was good and lightly toasted as advertised, but I wish it had a bit more crunch to hold up those toppings. The chili orange jam that came with the manchego was delicious and a great pairing with the cheese. My biggest mistake was not realizing that the happy hour only takes place at the bar, considering that the three tapas and most of the drinks we ordered fall on the happy hour menu. I reserved through OpenTable and swear I only saw the standard and high top table options, but that's ultimately on me for not being a more thorough first timer. I do wish the happy hour menu extended to the main dining room but can understand limiting it to the bar in such a large space. Overall, I can see why my friend recommended this place and noted it as her favorite of the options she gave me. I'll definitely have to come back to experience the happy hour and the patio! Parking is also not bad. There are spots immediately out front which were unsurprisingly full when I got there but street parking nearby was not difficult to obtain (just have to be mindful of the two hour limit from 7am-7pm when applicable).

Yelp
Reservation was available right on time. Service was friendly and efficient. Variety of the tapas we tried was good, the all you can eat ended up being the right way to go. Overall a good experience, would try again.

Yelp
This is a story about an experience that started off great and slowly got worse, up until the very end. This was our first time here. We had a 6:00 reservation on Saturday and got right in. They gave us a table on the second floor. It's a wide-open space that has a bit of an industrial feel to it. Plenty of light from the large windows. Interesting ceiling light fixtures--an assemblage of antlers with small lights. We met our server right away, got waters, and settled in. Very personable and explained the menu. Ordered the flight of sangria and a Movida Old Fashioned, along with Empanadillas for an appetizer. A small vegetarian empanada made with flaky dough. Super tasty with the included garlic lemon aioli. We were still waiting for our drinks when this food came. When the drinks arrived (which were excellent), we ordered our next course: the Barbacoa Tacos and the Garlic Shrimp. The tacos looked like they were thrown together--not much attention to the plating. The meat was flavorful and tender. The pita was fine but a bit much for the amount of meat filling. The Garlic Shrimp was good. It came with "crunch bread," which the server explained as "toasted." The entrée was good; however, besides the shrimp, there was very little else in the dish (the promised tomato or pepperoncini). Our next course was the Loma Tosta, grilled pork loin. Well, when it didn't arrive after 15 minutes of waiting, we had to wave down our server to ask. After checking, she told us there was likely some mistake and someone else got our entrée. Then we waited another 10 minutes. What came out was good but disappointing. There were two pieces. The first was excellent, with the bourbon peach jam and creamy brie. The second piece barely had any of those two ingredients. During the end of the meal, we barely saw our server. Someone else had to replenish our water, and for the last entrée, we did not have plates, so we simply ate off the serving plate. There are plenty of excellent restaurants in Milwaukee. Unfortunately, our experience at Movida was a huge disappointment. Not sure I would risk coming back for a second try. :(

Yelp
Highlights 1) Completely redesigned and expanded space 2) Great food 3) Fun vibe It had been awhile since I had been to Movida and had no idea that the space had been expanded so significantly. The space looks beautiful and the vibe is really fun! There are 3 dining rooms now and multiple patios. We were seated in the new upstairs dining room and our reserved table was ready right when we arrived. I recommend making a reservation as the restaurant was busy. Service was excellent throughout our meal. We ordered some Spanish wine and had the grilled zucchini, meatballs, pimento cheese and the Movida Paella. Food was great, flavorful and came out at a great pace! We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Went to Movida for the first time and I'm already trying to find a reason to go back! It was incredible! We were a group of about 10 people and all went in for the unlimited tapas. They all shared sangria and said it was amazing. I got a N.A. cosmo that was perfection and had the perfect balance between tart and sweet. As a table we got every dish possible for the tapas menu and I'm so glad we did. Sadly I didn't get pictures of everything but it was all amazing! I don't think there was anything I didn't like, but some of the stand out favorites were the mushroom croquets, pimento cheese, patatas bravas with chorizo, and shrimp with toast on the side. Everything was so amazing and the pace at which it came was also perfect. The servers were kind and patient with our bigger group and that was much appreciated. Overall would definitely come back!

Yelp
I've been a handful of times and it has not disappointed once. When you go with multiple people you should do the unlimited small plates because you get to try a bit of everything! Staff are great and seating anywhere is always good. If you get a spot near the kitchen you can see your food being made. There's always a positive attitude in the restaurant as well. They really want you to have a good experience!

Yelp
Movida is one of my favorite places to stop in Walker's Point for a filling dinner and cocktail! They feature a menu filled with tapas/ Spanish style plates. The staff is always so friendly and I really enjoy being able to sit on the roof top when it's warm out! They have a large amount of indoor seating available as well. One menu feature that my friends and I enjoy is the (optional) unlimited small plates for $49 per person w/ 75 min limit . The only caveat is the entire table must participate and gratuity will already be tacked onto the bill, just as an fyi! There is also a happy hour special from 4-6pm if you sit at the bar -if this is more your speed! The menu changes occasionally but some of my all time favorites include the Spanish meatballs (which are served with bread and ricotta), the crab tosta (two slices of toast w/ crab, cream, cheese) and the pan con tomatoe (a delicious spin on bruschetta). Definitely recommend adding all three to your order if you stop by. My other favorite aspect of their menu includes the versatility of fresh vegetables to choose from. The broccolini is extremely flavorful (and has a spicy kick). I also think their espresso martini is one of my top favorites in the city and pairs very well with the small plate options. Overall, I would definitely recommend Movida to those who are looking to venture out and try something new, different, and unique in Milwaukee.

Yelp
One of the best happy hours in town! I almost don't want to write this review because I want to keep it a secret... but they have $1, $2, $3 and $5 apps that are delicious, fresh, and filling. Pair these with the great ambiance and open-air vibes of the upstairs bar area, multiple sangria options, and fantastic dinner options and you can't go wrong here. The Patatas Bravas and the barbacoa tacos, are my two must-haves on the menu during happy hour. And I need to go back and try the street noodles. But definitely put this on your list of must-try restaurants in MKE!

Yelp
Who doesn't love Movida! Yes it only gets better with their happy hour. We truly have loved attending Movida as we have dones so a few times now and even chose it as the spot after we got engaged. Movida is a tapas style restaurant who also does a great Paella. I will say make a reservation ahead if going on a weekend or enjoy their happy hour from 4-6 daily including weekends. It's the best deal ever as you get $1,$3, and $5 tapas options including our favorite patatas bravas. The food here is truly remarkable and the service is always great even when busy. Their GM even hops in to help the team out and add to the experience. Also with their new addition the ambiance has elevated even further which I didn't know could be possible. They create a great night out with friends or romantic date with a loved one. Also must try the Paella, Hot Honey Tosta $1 during happy hour and Patatas Bravas $5 during happy hour!

Yelp
Movida has been a staple of ours over the past five years. I can't believe I haven't left a review yet, but this is a perfect time. They have one of the best happy hours in the city with great deals on appetizers such as Pan con Tomate, Barbacoa Tacos, Patatas Bravas, and their Sangrias (just some of our favorites). We recently had our wedding in the new upper bar area of Hotel Madrid! Taylor, Ryan, Gian (with his awesome Spanish Manhattan- Grano Dorado), and the rest of the staff were all awesome with helping setting up the event. If you were looking for a place for a smaller wedding (we had about 40), make sure to check out the space!

Yelp
Went with a party of 6 on a Saturday night for a birthday dinner. It was a a little loud, but overall a fun, energetic feel. We did the $49/person unlimited tapas which was a fun way to try everything on the menu. I would double check the value, since we had to order a LOT of food to break even. We had a great time and the birthday specials (wine and churros) were a personal touch.

Yelp
What a gem! Super cute decor, great food, great service, great price! Came on a Sunday morning for brunch with friends and absolutely loved it. We were seated right away. Our server was friendly, funny, and attentive. I ordered the Classic Pink Breakfast and selected: - Tomato & Toast: good way to start the meal. Light, fresh, and tasty! - Breakfast Burrito: I asked for the burrito without chorizo and they happily obliged, which was greatly appreciated! It was delicious. Really enjoyed the tots, caramalized onions and spicy aioli. The side of potatoes were fire. I also added on the bottomless drinks. Never had bottomless quite like it! All of the options are great (and strong). Zero complaints from me. Definitely go here.

Yelp
While making a reservation for Movida, I was given the option for Unlimited Tapas or a Star Wars drinks option, I chose the regular a la carte menu but that Star Wars option puzzled me. It was pouring when we arrived at Movida so I was also thankful I hadn't requested outdoor seating. We were warmly greeted and seated at a table near the window. The dining room was mostly filled and we put in our order for paella (can take up to 20 minutes for small, 45 minutes for large) and I ordered a red sangria. The restaurant was modern and open, and was decorated with large hanging chandeliers with antlers, Salvador Dali portraits and did not seem like a typical tapas restaurant. I did not hear any music, just the steady hum of conversation. We ordered patatas bravas which came piled in a bowl, with a wonderful bravas sauce. I was expecting spice and heat, though it had little but instead marveled at the soft and tender centers with the nicely crispy skins and the green onion swirled with aioli. This was wonderful. The jamon croquetas were crisp and had a creamy bechamel filling. It only came two to an order and I could have eaten more. Empanadillas were flaky and filled with carrot and carmelized onion. I did not care for the grilled zucchini-- the texture was crunchy neither crisp grilled nor soft melty. I was enjoying my sangria, sweet with fruit and spiced with cinnamon. Our Movida paella came out and it looked spectacular, in a large mound ( we ordered the small and this was enormous) and drizzled with aioli. The rice was delicate and the Basque sausage had a wonderful flavor, the chicken was so tender and the dish was very satisfying with olives and sofrita. We had forgotten about the tortilla which now arrived and we ate some of it, half-heartedly, because we were full. If this had arrived earlier, we would have enjoyed it. I took a walk at this time and the Star Wars drinks option became clear. The bar at the back of the restaurant was a cantina with a mural on the wall (sorry, blurry photo) as a tribute to Star Wars. The rain was still coming down so we decided to stay for dessert. The churros con chocolate was the only misstep in our meal. Eight churro logs arrived stack on top of each other. They were very heavy, dense and thick and chewy, with a lot of sugar coating. This was a very enjoyable meal with tasty tapas and paella. If I come back to Milwaukee I'd enjoy further exploring the menu by sampling more tapas and paella and venturing to the bar far far away.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I really love this place - from the vibe to the food - it all hits! I don't know what it was like before, but apparently, they made this place bigger. The first time I came here was for happy hour with the cousins. They had great deals on tapas and appetizers. The next time was for a Valentine's dinner with the boyfriend. Again, they had a great deal. The service is always great - super friendly and the food comes out pretty quickly. I love the patatas bravos, empanadillas, and Jason croquets. The hot honey toast is yummy - although I prefer thinner crispier bread. I tried the paella during happy hour - not really a fan. But I am very picky about my rice dishes... Overall, this is a fantastic place for date night or a group outing. We will definitely be back!!!

Yelp
Come to this lovely tapas place to get a taste of Spain! It's definitely worth your while to get the "unlimited tapas" deal in order to try all the items on the menu. Service was very well-paced and the atmosphere was nice and intimate!

Yelp
I love Movidas happy hour and sangrias! It's a great chance to try some of their food during the week. Movida is so cute, styled very well and has a good chill vibe to it. Service is always awesome, I've never had a bad experience!

Yelp
Everything was delicious! Unlimited tapas, complimentary bottle of rose. This is a nice date for Valentine's. The service was quick and efficient and friendly staff.

Yelp
We went to Movida to celebrate a recent graduation and were seated in a side room with dim lighting. This created a nice atmosphere of privacy, allowing us to connect genuinely through conversation. We received exceptional service! Our server was attentive without being intrusive, ensuring that our drinks and plates were always full throughout the night. There were four couples, and we each ordered three tapas to share along with a paella. There was more than enough food for everyone, and each dish was delicious! My personal favorite was the mushroom tosta. I will definitely be returning soon with some new friends and will make sure to tell everyone I know how great Movida is.

Yelp
We had such a fun time ordering tapas at movida last night! The food was delicious and it's nice being able to try a variety of things. There was also a good amount of vegetarian options which is always nice for us! We sat outside on the rooftop and that was definitely the place to be, the rest of the restaurant was pretty empty. I would say the unlimited tapas was not a deal compared to what we got, so I'd recommend just ordering what you want as you go!

Yelp
Movida at Hotel Madrid is BOMB!!! I haven't been back to Milwaukee in about 6 years and I'm happy to see at least one of the restaurants open and has survived. Movida and Hotel Madrid were once two spots, but not consolidated upstairs Hotel Madrid and the hotel rooms ousted to make room for Movida. Makes sense! Their Happy Hour CANNOT BE BEAT. For everyone living in MKE who hasn't been y'all are missing out big big time!! Get over there asap. I do hate when restaurants add gratuity automatically and do not say anything. I hope someone reads this from the restaurant and trains their staff to mention the small easy to miss line item on the bill.

Yelp
They're always spot on! I've gone three times now for their pink brunch. Each time I'm impressed! 1. The atmosphere is so cute! I'm a girly woman and love pink so it's up my alley! 2. The drinks are yummy and pack a punch! My preference is the tequila sangria! Not too sweet, has Don Julio, white wine, and a nice Tajin rim! Spend the extra $7 for the bottomless option!! Thank me later. The bloody Mary isn't bad. Just nothing to brag about. 3. The biscuit and gravy appetizer is so good! I've not tried the other apps because it's too good! Lol! Nice rich chorizo gravy and a good fluffy biscuit similar to Popeyes. 4. I've had the Movida paella, breakfast burrito, and birria grilled cheese. ALL three delicious! Burrito could've used more chorizo but still was amazing! You get a lot of birria beef in the grilled cheese. The paella is so good, as well!! 5. The churro dessert is basic. I've eaten it and I've left them behind. Numbers 2-4 of this review would never get left behind! NEVER! They're too good! Lol! 6. The service has always been great! The wait for another drink is very short. Those bartenders are top tier!!! So are the waiters! Will I return? ABSOLUTELY! Probably this weekend! Lol!!

Yelp
Review is for brunch, as we have been multiple times for dinner and it's been a great meal. Brunch is a really great deal - it's $25 for an app, main, and dessert, as well as coffee and a drink. The food was great, with the exception of the breakfast burrito - that thing is just stuffed with tater tots and very little eggs, and no sauce. I asked for a salsa because it was just fried potatoes and the burrito lacked flavor but they don't have salsa just hot sauce. Overall, it wasn't the best dish in my opinion. I would go back for brunch, but wouldn't order the burrito again. Churros and biscuit was great though! My friend enjoyed the huevos rancheros

Yelp
Great service, sat upstairs at bar. Lisa was so nice. Gave all her recommendations which were all good. Can't wait to visit for Brunch

Yelp
Tapas style dinner of 6 dishes. The pastas braves and the shrimp were a B+, the meatballs, bread, and broccolini a solid C. The 6th dish was so memorable I can't even recall what it was. Overall the meal was the height of mediocrity. The acoustics are dreadful. Our group couldn't converse unless we shouted at one another- this is made worse with the background music. Plain tables and chairs in a plain open room. No charm or inviting ambiance. Can't wait to Not go back again.

Yelp
The perfect, fun place to take out of town friends & family! All the food is very tasty. I love the sangria too! Some of my favorite dishes in Milwaukee come from Movida!

Yelp
Beautiful hotel restaurant in Walker's Point. The neighborhood has a lot of character and the interior is done up in pink, which many patrons will dress to match. Service was friendly but they raised their prices like crazy; bottomless mims used to be $7 but now they're *$21.* Food was fricking excellent though. I got the fruit french toast and it was 10/10.

Really nice food here! Came here on a date night and it was my first time having tapas, services was perfect and I enjoyed it. Will definitely come back with a bigger group.

Yelp
I had been to Movida once a couple of years ago and returned to take my brother to happy hour the other day. The tequila sangria was just as yummy as I remembered and we really enjoyed the tapas we tried- the empanadas were our favorite, but we also enjoyed the ham board and the cheese board. The deals are great for happy hour and I'm looking forward to returning to try their unlimited tapas. The bar tender and service were also attentive and quick.

Yelp
I was very excited to try Movida after hearing great things and looking for a tapas restaurant in Milwaukee, but it did not live up to my expectations. We split started out with sangria flights and they were very sweet / syrupy. None of us could finish them. For tapas, we ordered empanadillas, croquettes, grilled zucchini and lomo tostadas. We loved the croquettes. Perfectly cooked, crunchy exterior with a soft inside. The grilled zuchininwas fresh and had a great sauce. The empanadillas and lomo were just ok and probably wouldn't order again. The paella was good but not the best I've had. The squid was a bit rubbery and there wasn't much chorizo. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and the chicken was delicious. There was a good taste to the rice as well but none of our favorites. Service was great and the restaurant had a fun vibe; just not our favorite in Milwaukee

Yelp
Nice Spanish restaurant with a lovely ambiance and solid food/drinks. If you are looking to save some money definitely check out their happy hour menu at the bar. They have tapas for $1, $3 and $5. The pair of jamón croquetas and pan con tomate for $1 are a steal! Also loved the patatas bravas and the mushroom tosta were also a hit! For a drink you can't go wrong with their sangria, it is delish! A classy spot that works as a casual night out or date night. They just opened a new addition with a rooftop patio that will surely be a trendy spot in summertime.

Yelp
Went on a Saturday morning around 10 to try out the "Pink Brunch" with some friends. The decor and menus went along perfectly with the theme without being too much and added to the ambiance. There are a few different brunch options, and I went with the classic breakfast that included coffee service, a drink, a starter, a main, and dessert for $25 which is an absolutely crazy deal. We also added on the bottomless mimosas and sangria for an extra $6/person. Was a little annoyed that everyone at the table had to pay the extra $6 even though one person was pregnant and obviously not partaking in the special. The mimosas and sangria were delicious, as was the yogurt and the birria burrito I had. The churro for dessert was okay - it felt a little greasy and chewy and I didn't finish it. We were the only table in the restaurant for the first 30 minutes or so and the service was a little disappointing. It never got too busy because of the weather, but it was hard to get our server's attention to get refills on the bottomless drinks. Brunch at Movida is easily one of the best deals in Milwaukee and you should go check it out asap. But be prepared for a little slower service, especially if they're busy!

Yelp
Great atmosphere for a Saturday night! We started with the sangria flight- really enjoyed the red but the tequila was too sweet and I would not recommend. The tapas were all incredible especially the meatballs, tomato toast, and patatas brava. If you want to try the paella without getting the whole skillet, would definitely recommend the burrito! Was incredible. Our waitress ended up comping our drinks because they took awhile which was really nice of her. Would recommend!

Yelp
They have a hidden 20% "service fee" due to people historically not tipping them due to bad service as mine was tonight, and the waiters have the audacity to demand tips on top of that. There are plenty of other places you can go in Walkers Point.

Yelp
What an amazing brunch experience!! If you are considering taking the girls to PINK BRUNCH just do it!! I already cannot wait to make another reservation. The service was absolutely wonderful, very attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly staff. The $25 brunch with appetizer, entree & dessert (and bottomless mimosa or sangria) was SUCH A STEAL! We left full, buzzed & and very satisfied. It was also just sooooo freaking cute! All the pink decor, plates, flowers, cranberry mimosas - all of it was a 10/10 experience!

Yelp
Movida is one of our favorite places for a date and we end up coming here at least a couple times a year. We have only been here for dinner previously, so to try something a little different we came for happy hour. Their happy hour is everyday from 4-6pm and includes dollar tapas at the bar. Of note, there are no deals on drinks for happy hour, which is a bit of a bummer, but you can't go wrong with dollar tapas at all especially when they're this good! We made reservations for seats at the bar. When we initially go to the restaurant, we felt a little silly for making reservations for happy hour, but we soon realized that it was good we did because the place got packed FAST! As soon as we sat at the bar, we were offered complimentary garden paella. It was absolutely delicious and set the perfect mood for the rest of the evening. The paella was cooked really nice and the flavors all melded together beautifully. We ultimately ordered a bunch of the tapas - jamón croquetas, pan con tomate, hot honey tosta, emapanadillas, cauliflower tosta, patatas bravas, and mushroom tosta. My absolute favorite were the empanadillas. The shells were super flaky and crispy and the filling was scrumptious. I wasn't sure about the carrots when just reading it on the menu, but it really was very good: kind of sweet, very savory, and the aioli was a great accompaniment. My husband's favorite were the croquetas. He said they were crispy and creamy and he could've eaten several plates of these! Of the tostas, my personal favorite was the cauliflower with honorable mentions of the pan con tomate and hot honey tosta (which also made a good breakfast toast the next day!). Along with the food, I got the tequila (seasonal) sangria and the seasonal margarita. Both were easy sipping! My husband got the Movida Old Fashioned and an Estrella Damm. The Old Fashioned was very sweet - tasty, but may not be what you're always in the mood or looking for in your Old Fashioned. The staff was always very nice and good at what they do; they were attentive even when it got busy.

Yelp
Great tapas! The broccolini and patatas bravas were amazing, along with their craft cocktail selection (Papa's in Havana and the Rose Sangria were favorites). Libbey at the bar was super attentive and gave great recommendations. Our only regret was not coming here sooner (or for happy hour - $1 tapas??? Amazing!). Great little moments throughout the restaurant for photos. Thank you for a great night, Movida!
