Very cool, small hotel. unique hip design and decor - concrete and leather.. Check in was part of the bar. Given 2 drink coupon. Asian food court adjacent - basically part of entry. Friendly staff - epecially Adam - was fantastic. Eager to help us get there and have a great experience. The price was very fair, especially considering what an awesome hotel it is.|John & Tianne|San Antonio. Texas

The Moxy was very fun to stay at, the price was great and the staff is nice. The rooms are very modern and stylish and my wife loved it. My car was broken into overnight in the neighboring parking lot, the lot isn't associated with the Moxy, but that definitely hurt my opinion of the area. Great hotel, but park with caution.

Google
Not sure my opinion will matter as I was very tired when I reached the hotel, and spent most of it asleep. That's right. I didn't got to the bar or restaurants! Pros: a vibrant hotel, lots going on, nice view from our 11 story windows, comfortable bed, nice bath. Cons: noisy, but since I wear hearing aids, I just took them out, and voila! Nice and quiet. Also the valet parking was pricy ($62 per night). Staff were all nice, no issues to speak of, and the location was terrific. Powell's is just three city blocks away, and near all sorts of restaurants that I didn't take advantage of, alas.

I’ve stayed in a number of Moxy hotels. They are consistently urban and minimalist. I like that. This one has a nice and fun bar on the first floor just beyond check-in. You get a free drink ticket at check-in. And the drinks are good. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. I love the white noise machine on the wall of the room and the room-darkening curtains. ||However, the very best thing about this Moxy is Adam. He is friendly and fun and funny and incredibly knowledgeable. He can talk enthusiastically about any aspect of Portland and he has a freakishly good memory for numbers. He gave us so many great tips! He is just so personable and kind and welcoming that you want to invite him along on your day trip! Don’t miss your chance to engage with him during your visit.

We were mildly disappointed at the rooms at the Moxy. While wandering Portland, we stumbled across the lobby at Moxy a few times and thought it was the coolest place downtown. We decided to stay a night and it felt like we were ushered into a secret dark hallways, the kind you bring people who are too drunk to go home. I'm a Marriott Plat member and I never would've imagined this was a Marriott hotel. The room was insanely small, and they provide earplugs and a white noise device?? Yes, you can hear noise from the outside, but it wasn't too bad. I didn't feel that the room was clean enough for me to take a shower, and I especially didn't feel like I was in a hotel given that the walls and ceiling was just it's original concrete with construction markings still on it. Overall, just felt slightly better than a hostel. I met the owners by accident and they are nice folks, and the staff took care of everything I needed. I am only mildly disappointed that this is a Marriott property and certainly if it wasn't for the location and the cool lobby, I wouldn't stay here again for the price.

Google
Cute hotel! The rooms, as stated by others, are definitely on the smaller side. Not a lot of places to put your stuff and overall sort of cramped. The beds are comfortable. Like the chill area in the lobby where you can set up your laptop to do work or take a call. They have these supply closets on each floor where you can grab extra towels, which I liked, although they were not always stocked. Area is a little sketchy. Thought $62 was a little steep for valet, when they do not have a self-park option.

Google
Was way better than I expected. People actually hang in the bar/ food area making the smaller rooms totally fine. Rooms were very clean - the concrete floors help with that, but I wish there was a rug or slippers for my bare feet lol. Ac was great, sound machines and black out curtains turn the room into a little sensory deprivation tank. Coffee in the lobby and a welcome drink were nice touches. They really kept it “fun-hundred” ; )

Chelsea Savoy

Google
We've stayed at Moxy's before so we knew a bit of what to expect. The service was okay....they were very responsive but for some reason when we asked for towels online and then left for the day, they didn't leave them in our room? They stated someone needed to be in the room to receive them which I found a bit odd. Also as you can guess Portland much like Seattle is very damp outside and that definitely leaked into our room. The room itself felt damp and then the bathroom had no ventilation so our towels were wet even the next day after a shower. The downstairs was cute but might pay a bit more for a better, well known hotel chain in the future. The area was conveniently located to a lot of popular things in Portland but there was a worry with the large homeless population surrounding the hotel.

Yelp
I am giving this place a 4 star only because they typically are great. I believe it was Alex that I was trying to work with, but he wouldn't book me a room, told me I only get a room with a refrigerator if I am a preferred member. I have got that room several times and have around 30 total night there this year. He sounds conceded and entitled on the phone, argued with me about getting a room, and generally belittled me. All that said, the place is awesome and everyone else is great. I have worked with him at the front desk several times and he will ignore you until he finishes his conversation. He did t even ask my name before starting to tell me things that were not true. I.e. I can only get a room with a fridge if I pay through Hyatt.com. He has routinely talked down to people and must have only a couple of years experience in hotels and service. Very disappointing, but everyone else is great so I still recommend it. Cheers! *update* I came down to check in and DAVID not Eric was there. I recognized his voice. I told him that I thought he was rude, and instead of apologizing, he continued to argue with me about what room I can stay in. They had 1 room left and ERIC stepped in and asked David to take the phone call as he was getting very worked up. Eric was fast, nice, professional, and honestly he turned a really bad experience into a great one. I had this place at 4 stars, but I believe everywhere makes mistakes and what matters is how they handle them. Eric was a rockstar and could not of handled that situation better. 5 stars for Eric and the hotel, 0 stars for David and his conceded attitude and inability to listen to the guest. Cheers!

Yelp
The moxy is Marriott Intl's "Millenial" brand. Their aesthetic is more modern, darker shades with some metallic. Their ideal traveler is someone who's young, value-minded and looking to spend $100 or less, doesn't care about things like in room coffee makers or snacks at the front desk. Someone who's looking for a no frills yet classy join that's easy to get to from the airport. The cons for some might be just that- they want in room amenities like coffee and an ironing board and bottled water but who wants to spend $150 on a hotel? The parking is valet only and it's $62 but once again let's align the value proposition here - it's downtown portland - there's not a snowballs chance in hell a downtown hotel has 190 parking spots for every room here. It's extremely limited - take an uber here guys. You can always park two blocks away at smart park for $14-this is real simple stuff folks. The noise thing is real but that's pretty much every downtown hotel i've stayed at across america. It's not unbearable but tolerable and goes away after midnight. This is a younger clientele that this business caters to--young people stay up late--ain't that hard to understand. This place like a lot of Marriott Properties caters to an audience. It's not the right fit for everyone but for those who wanna spend little for a decent little studio this may fit the bill

Yelp
Reviews not accurate. No way is this a 4 star rating. They gave free drink coupons to have patrons leave 5 star reviews for the bar to up the yelp reviews. The 5 star reviews for the bar give the false impression the hotel is 4 stars. None of them stayed in the hotel. A few reviews mention this. i was fooled by this. Dishonest. Tricky SOBs. Price gouged. Learned my lesson. In downtown in seedy area with rampant homeless. No garage parking; only option is valet offered by hotel. NO sign or warning of charge. Hotel stay for 1 night100$ parking for one night 62$. Outrageous. Would be better off paying $170 at a better hotel in the burbs. This is a converted office building. The windows and walls separating the rooms arent designed to hotel standards leading to very high noise level when trying to sleep. Most common complaint is when someone is using the TV in an adjacent room the low frequency sounds are amplified because of the hard surface they used to separate walls. Good for office buildings lousy for rooms where you need quiet to sleep. Rooms not built correctly. There isnt a 2x6 drywall insulated wall between walls. You can hear everything in other rooms when they use the tv and turn on the sound. They add a white noise device on the wall to try to compensate. Ridiculous Rooms not carpeted maybe to deal with past bed bug infestations. Difficult to adjust heat. Individual rooms don't seem to have separate hvac systems. They are all lined to a central unit. Can adjust the venting and fan speed but the temp doesn't seem to move noticeably. Tried to warm up at night. Never worked. Hard to sleep because of noise. Cheap windows not insulated well from street noise. Lots of crazy people yelling at random times at night or pounding sounds on metal. Very little sleep. Leave early and find a quiet place to nap in car. Avoid at all costs. Not safe area. This hotel popular with alternate lifestyle community. If you dont have a car a 100$ room is a good deal . Drug user foaming at mouth on sidewalk is not rabies. Needed a narcan shot. Didn't stick around to verify who narcaned him. Rampant Drug use from homeless outside. Lots of unprovoled screaming at night. Accosted 3x in 5m while unloading car to get luggage from vagrants looking for spare change

Yelp
Hip, fun, trendy, fairly new hotel in the heart of downtown. Lots of modern photo ops. Dog friendly. Large bar downstairs with 2 fast food style/causal restaurant options, but be mindful of their hours.

Audrey S.

Yelp
As many other reviews stated, the walls are so thin. Our first night we overheard another couple and after an hour called the front desk (I'd already requested they stop or be quiet). Front desk said "god damn it" on the phone and hung up, did nothing about it as they continued then threw a loud party in their room until 6am. The service improved from there. The bartenders were all extremely friendly and made great drinks. The view was incredible, and check in and check out were super easy. We would stay here again... as long as our neighbors aren't the same.

Yelp
We had a pleasant stay here this past weekend. Staff provided helpful information at our arrival. The lobby set up with colorful and quirky decor and furnishings giving off a chic vibe. Free drink ticket for their bar given at check-in, the bar and check-in counter one and the same (bar closes at midnight). The room was clean, modern, and simple, with wooden flooring, comfy bedding, temperature control, a powerful hairdryer, and a really nice shower head. They also provided earplugs, possibly for thin walls, but it was quiet and peaceful enough while we were there so we were able to get a good night's rest. Overnight parking was adjacent to the hotel for a fee, with in-and-out privileges.

Yelp
Love this hotel! We got it last minute for a one night stay and wish we had more time. We were able to walk to multiple cute things down town including Powell Bookstore, Thai Peacock, and some other very cute places in the area. The vibe here is phenomenal, the staff the ambiance, and gay friendly! Room was artistic and beautiful, the lounge area is fun creative and has a fire for some cozy vibes.

Yelp
Great location. First time at a Moxy. Staff was friendly. Very comfortable bed. Rooms are very minimalistic. Stash closet was empty most of the time. No breakfast served that we could find and the restaurant was closed Monday and Tuesday. We got one ticket for a drink upon check in. Would have been nice to get two. I was hoping to try the Moxy signature welcome drink that people have posted about, but we we're told the coupon was for beer, wine or well. Overall, a good stay.

Yelp
Another reason why we love staying at this location. There so many places you have access to by walking. We used ride share to go to places over the bridge They had three restaurants to select food from but there hours are limited. It all looked good. There never a dull moment in the lobby.

Yelp
May 2024 - I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. The location is great and lots of walkable spots nearby for shopping, dining, socializing. My room was comfortable and clean. I was concerned because a white noise machine and earplugs were supplied but I didn't think it was noisy but I also live in a city. My room also came with a mini fridge and Nespresso machine which isn't great for a tea drinker but I could also just get hot water down near the front desk. This is my 2nd Moxy location stay and the decor was similar to the last one with supplies being available without bothering a staff person. Bathroom was serviceable but I didn't love a shower curtain, rather than glass and it seemed a bit short. Would recommend again.

Yelp
Cute place located in the city! Definitely a vibe staying here! Would definitely stay here again! Was in town for a concert at the crystal ballroom and was in walking distance from venue. Super high energy and def Portland vibes!

Yelp
Love the vibe of this place, hip, but laid back. Has two food trucks inside Rooms are small, but nice and great art. Parking is expensive - my main drawback. Hotel is a good value, but $40 to park is crazy.

Yelp
Well, I wanted to email the hotel directly, but I can't find an email for them anywhere, so here we go. This is a nice looking hotel, but the rooms are super tiny. It's some new chain from Marriott, where you exchange "hip" for space. My issue with the place is it has the noisiest fucking elevator in the history of mankind. It sounds like whales mating ALL NIGHT LONG! Yurrrrrrooooooo eeeeeehoooo whuuuuuuuurrrrooooo They know it's a big problem, so what's their response? Not getting the elevator fixed, that would make too much sense. So they put a white noise machine in each room and earplugs. So yeah, if you want to be "hip" in a cramped room and listen to a whale mating soundtrack all night long, this is the hotel for you!
google avatar

Ali O.

Yelp
Definitely in the heart of downtown. Moxy is a unique hotel in that you check in right with the bartender. Suuuuuper cute and eclectic no pool but they have a gym. Loved the room and the alllll the way black out shades they had. It's quaint but they have taken advantage of every space saving option like spots under the bed for luggage. Drawers under bed as well. Hooks on the way because no closet but it worked out great. We had to call for an iron/board and they let us know there's a community like locker "stash closet" where they have those and other amenities available on each floor. Brilliant because of space. The lighting is awesome and it's just an aesthetic pleasing spot. We enjoyed our stay and will be back

Yelp
It's cheap and has some hip artwork and design choices. Otherwise, I had a terrible experience. I booked their option for a corner room to get away from hallway noise, but was put right by the elevators. Ugh, the sounds of the hallway were terrible! I also booked their larger room with an extra 50 square feet, rather than the one they describe as "cozy", but I'm not sure I got that bigger size - there wasn't an inch to spare in the room and I can only guess I was put in the cozy one. It was also very bright in my room from the outside lights (I get it, it's downtown), but there was only a sheer shade and no curtains to close. I tried calling down to the front desk and asked for an eye mask, but they just said they didn't have any (pretty curtly), and didn't offer any options. I checked in at like 9pm after a 4+ hour drive to the hotel, with an extremely early morning meeting, so I just covered my eyes with a dry washcloth and tried to sleep, but only got a couple of hours max. It was maybe the worst experience I've had at a hotel. I generally have Yelp to only leave good reviews for places to support small business, so it's hard to leave something negative like this. But it was just something that felt important to warn others about, and since it's a chain hotel establishment, I don't feel like I'm going to hurt a small business owner. Plus one star because it was clean, so that's deserving of an extra star to shout out the cleaning staff who are working hard and getting no love.

Yelp
The rooms ARE small. The reviews are lying about that. But everything else about the Moxy makes up for it. You're immediately greeted by a friendly face, bright lights, and jammin music when you walk through the door. When you check in you're presented with a ticket for a free drink and that's how you know you're in for a fun stay. I chose the "Get Moxy" which was delightfully fruity with a cute little pink flair. As stated above, the rooms are tiny. The bed's softness, the blackout shades, and the noise machine are a dangerous combination. I had some of the best sleep I've ever had in that room. They provided us with a few pairs of earplugs but the noise machine drowned out any noises I may have found undesirable. When I was out I was OUT. The room is beautifully decorated and almost minimalist in a way that's needed for the tiny space. I loved the shower and its attachments and the teeny tiny desk made a great place to keep food and charging items. The staff at the bar were fantastic! They were able to help provide me with ice, getting change for bills, and directing me to supplies (all the extra supplies are kept in the "Stash Closet" on your floor and made for super easy access when needed). They were all warm, helpful, and seemed genuinely happy to help out, which was so nice. If you're someone who doesn't plan to be in your room much this is beyond a great choice. It made for a cozy little spot to end the day and a comfortable setting to wake up in. I would stay in this space again and again.

Yelp
We stayed here on a recent trip to Portland. The Hotel is super cute and hip. The staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel was clean, safe and cute, and the area is walkable or trainable (on the streetcar or max). I love being in Portland and being able to get around easily without a car. We had a great experience at the Moxy. We'll definitely be back. Thank you so much for the great stay!

Yelp
Moxy was my home away from home during Portland's recent icestorms and power outages. Fortunately, it had some of my favorite things: A great selection of Asian food, and a gym with a heavy bag and functional fitness tools (instead of the boring treadmills found at many hotels). Other pluses included innovative art throughout the hotel, and a sound machine that kept things peaceful in my room even when I could hear the neighboring room's TV blaring from the hallway. Wifi was strong and consistent: Important, since I had escaped my home that had lost power and thus wifi so that I could still work! It's also really set up for community, with board games, pinball machines and a spacious lobby that included different types of seating, a fireplace and a bar. Only real downsides were that the huge lobby windows that create great light also contributed to a bit of a chill in sub-freezing weather. And while the hotel site attested to "food options 24/7" at Bar Moxy, when I asked, it turned out that those options were bagged snacks and ramen cups. Usually, you have a plethora of options nearby, but in the midst of a storm that shut down much of the city, not so much. I also would have loved to see a more-robust selection of zero-proof options on the drink menu, but the bartender did a great job of creating a mocktail for me. Two restaurants in the lobby, Sun Rice and Let's Roll, have fantastic food, with a good range of hours: Brunch to lunch hours for Sun Rice and lunch to late dinner hours for Let's Roll. Overall, a great place to stay if you're looking for aesthetics, comfort, innovative cuisine and great options for working *and* working out.

Yelp
Absolutely horrible experience. Spent a very long time talking with Demetri and Samantha back and forth for them to be in the end very passive aggressive and penny pinching / squeezing us as clients over $100 instead of directly and clearly communicating when attempting to book their lobby for a birthday. Especially as BIPOC clients, this kind of behavior from bigger Portland companies is so outdated. Community oriented businesses don't treat people this way. Act human. Act humane. They gave us a very specific quote in person then up'd that quote and changed other details immediately following over email. Attempts to clear the air were met with more passive aggressive communication. Do not work with them unless you get a contract in writing. Do not count on their word. And truly, in fact I would say don't waste your time, energy, nor money here at all. There's much more community oriented, people friendly, customer based places to enjoy your time.

Yelp
***Review for the bar and lounge only*** the stay was more like 3 stars due to paper thin walls and dysfunctional toilet that kept running in the middle of the night. They did supply ear plugs and a white noise machine. Our order: got moxy What a cute and fun drink! It echoed the neon pink theme of the hotel. The bartender and his process was theatrical and entertaining. The drink was balanced between chaser and alcohol. It was tart and fruity. For a lightweight like myself, it was more than I could handle, especially after we got cozy by the fireplace. The lounge has a lot of seating options with jumbo sized jengas, sofas, couches, benches etc.

Charles K.

Yelp
Hotel and location were great. However I was billed for damage I did not cause. Damage I reported to the front desk as soon as I noticed it, and damage I was verbally told would not be my responsibility. Do not visit this hotel unless you have $950 to spend on someone else's damage.
google avatar

Ivan K.

Yelp
Moxy has an interesting atmosphere and energy which is unique (as you see on pictures). The rooms are small but it's enough for two people. Didn't like the sliding doors in the bathroom and not being able to close the shower door was strange. Yes, you can hear the neighbors but I was exhausted after a flight so I slept until morning.
google avatar

Margaret C.

Yelp
Loved the design of the hotel, everyone was friendly, they also gave us the free drink. Other reviewers are correct - you'll definitely hear your neighbors :) but it's in downtown... The view out of our window was so nice!
google avatar

Blaise H.

Yelp
I only came here for the bar not the hotel during my stay in Portland, so my review is strictly for the bar. But wow!!! This is now my favorite bar in all of Oregon! First off, the bartender was great, I believe his name was Chris. He recommended a drink called "the nightmare after Christmas" which was a drink from a past menu. It was great! We also got the espresso martinis which also blew it out of the water. What makes this bar unique is the lounge area they have surrounding the bar. It does not feel like a hotel lobby but instead a trendy place to relax and play a board game. They have so many card games and board games to keep you entertained for hours. Overall such a fun, chill place to grab a drink! Makes me also want to stay in the hotel some time.

Yelp
What an awesome vibe and snazzy little spot. Whether your soaking in the music, eating some amazing sliders from BigE or sipping on some tasty cocktails or just chilling with some Jenga...Thiis definitely a very cool hangout spot!!! From decor to staff and definitely a must try!!

Tara E.

Yelp
I'm not sure where to start: Rude front desk Room not ready No parking other than $65 per night valet, and the valet is never there to get your car or park your car. Literally, you can hear your neighbor whisper But my favorite is they supply you with ear plugs and a white noise machine to drown out the whale siren elevator that screeches all night long. I'm talking about a high-pitched whale call all night...do not stay here. It's literally the worst.
google avatar

Laura G.

Yelp
There are so many great reviews for the bar and fun lobby area. It's all true. This hotel has a great vibe ... Check-in is quick, efficient and includes a complimentary cocktail of your choice. The sleeping rooms are small but very comfortable and stylish. There is no parking on site so you are encouraged to use one of the two parking garages nearby.

Ben N.

Yelp
Great place to stay. I've lodged here twice now and will book again. Love the vibe and atmosphere. Front desk is connected to the bar. Friendly and accommodating staff. Enjoy the pink flamingo theme. A couple little food places to order from in the back of their bar area, which I should say is spacious. Attended drag bingo and it was a blast. The rooms are cute little boutique style. Definitely a gem in the city.
google avatar

Sue D.

Yelp
Definitely not up to Marriot standards. Bare bones hotel - no fridge, no microwave, no coffee maker in room. Tiny desk, only enough space for a laptop only. Fan goes all night, can't turn it off. People running up and down hall. Doesn't really feel safe for the single woman traveling. Three hangers on the wall, no closet. No iron. No furniture to set anything on. Everything goes on the floor. Will NOT stay here ever again. No lounge for platinum guest. No upgrade offered despite lifetime platinum status.

Joe M.

Yelp
Great place. Amazing atmosphere and venue. Will definitely be back to stay and enjoy more food and drinks.
google avatar

Kim G.

Yelp
This review is for the bar lobby only. Great place to meet for Happy Hour! They have HH every single day and offer 20% off cocktails and food, and the prices are already reasonable, especially for downtown. Cocktails are inventive and delicious! I start with one than switch to wine as the cocktails just go down way too fast! Bartenders are high energy, friendly and add to the experience! Hip atmosphere with lots of various seating areas. Couches, comfy side chairs, tables and bench seating, a fireplace, disco lighting, flashy bar and several games scattered about - all combine to create an open, fun, mod space for which to imbibe. Get the naan pizza! Crispy thin crust with perfect blend of tomatoe, mozzere and pepperoni. Perfect for one! Parking on street can get challenging as it's in an area with other bars and restaurants but I had great karma the two times I was there, scoring parking right out front.

Yelp
Downtown Portland is not really great night life. That's fine cause these bars make great drinks.
google avatar

Natasha K.

Yelp
Came here for a Yelp event to check out the bar so I don't have a review about the hotel space itself but... This place is a millennial paradise! A feast for your eyes and your palate. The check in desk is the bar and the bar is where you check in! Genius! Games everywhere both board games and games embedded in the decor, cute seating areas and awesome Art Deco. Drinks here are tasty and innovative as well as pack a punch. We didn't eat here but we were extremely impressed by the fair prices you don't usually see in a hotel bar. Highly recommend checking this place out, if not to stay at the hotel, definitely as a place to stop for happy hour where everything on the menu is 20% off
google avatar

Yelp
This place is awesome. The staff, the vibe, the bar, THE BARTENDERS. It's a great place for your first time in Portland. Even the guests will give you amazing recommendations and itineraries. 5/5 10/10 two thumbs up. Etc. etc.
google avatar

Valerie C.

Yelp
Moxy is not your typical Marriot hotel. It is hip and fun. it is more like a upscaled hostel. when you enter the hotel lobby, you are greeted by dance music and bright colors. The bar is also your check-in counter. The room is comfortably small, and it has the basics. It doesn't have a closet space, or a coffee maker, but I didn't need either. The black out curtain does a great job keeping the room dark if you want to sleep in. The location of the hotel is central and excellent, walking distance to public transits and restaurants. Though others have mentioned the surrounding areas being sketch, I didnt feel unsafe. And the walls are a tad thin, meaning you could hear other guests occasionally if they are loud. but overall, my stay was comfortable and smooth.
google avatar

Brittany W.

Yelp
Moxy is not a brand for everyone. I didn't personally have a problem with it as I only stayed here for one night, but I could see how others (older people, families, people looking for a quieter place to stay) may not enjoy it. Being familiar with the location, I had looped around the block multiple times trying to find parking to no luck. I finally pulled into a loading zone to check in and asked their recommendations. The employee at the check in desk (who also worked the bar) told me that a club had opened nearby recently so on weekends it's difficult to find parking, but street parking was still my best bet. After driving a few more blocks away, I was finally able to find parking, but not a great start. At check in, they gave tokens for a drink, which we took advantage of. The drink was some dragon fruit mix, which was cold and refreshing. The room itself was clean, although there were a lack of outlets by the bed, which seemed like a design flaw in this day and age. Otherwise the room was functional and suited our needs. The hotel's location was close to downtown and conveniently located, so we were able to walk to most things.

Yelp
Cute artsy hotel in Downtown. They give you free bar drink vouchers upon check-in, which is a relaxing segway into a fun weekend or few days. Along with the other reviews, don't expect this to be a quiet hotel. It's located right in the middle of downtown, it's expected to be lively and energetic at night. The bar is open practically all night with friendly staff and guests. The lobby is spacious, has various amenities and games. This hotel is good for those who want to have fun with their partner and friends. The ambiance is comforting and there are amazing photo-op areas all around the hotel. As someone who loves colorful LED lights, I thought this hotel was perfect since it was colorful all throughout the lobby, elevators, hallways, etc. The rooms are smaller than I expected but it's cozy, the bathrooms are modern which I enjoyed a lot -- as well as a huge flat screen TV that has Netflix, HBO, etc. Each hallway has a closet with extra towels, toothbrushes/toothpaste, razors, toilet paper, everything you could possibly need for the bathroom. That was efficient since it's self-serve instead of having to call front desk. The only thing is I wish the rooms were a bit bigger and included a mini fridge. The downstairs area has a microwave, utensils/plates/bowls, water, toaster, pretty much a mini kitchen. However, it would've been nice if that was included in the rooms as well since I wouldn't want to constantly go downstairs if I needed to heat something up. And it sucks that I couldn't refrigerate anything perishable since I was visiting from out of town. There are no closets in the room, so the rooms become cramped once it's filled with luggage and other goods. Honestly, these rooms can only fit up to three people MAX, then it becomes insufferable. Parking situation isn't the best, it would've been great if they had their own private parking garage but the hotel is fairly small. There's a public paid parking lot on the side of the hotel, as well as a parking garage about a block away ($35 overnight) Be careful with parking, our rental got broken into overnight. Not surprised since it wasn't protected and there are no cameras in the lot. Just a fair warning, make sure you take everything out of your car into your hotel room. Or better yet, park in a safe parking garage and uber to the hotel. Overall, a pretty hotel for younger people. If you want a quiet place, you're going to have to choose a different hotel from the Marriott chain. Would I stay here again? Maybe not. The only thing that would bring people into this hotel would be the bar and lounge area. But for an overnight stay? Not really. You'd be much safer booking a stay at a more secured hotel.

Yelp
I love the Moxy. It was pretty cheap for a corner room. Relatively tiny but had all the essentials. The staff were all so nice and welcoming. In the lobby there is a place to hang out and a little sushi place. When you sign in to the hotel you get 1 free signature drink at the bar and it was killer. The most is in the perfect place downtown close to so many stores and to the bus/max stop. My problem was that the hot water was accidentally shut off in the entire hotel but the front desk was happy to give us a refund. As well as the shower was only being half way covered with glass and the water flooded the room with every use. Over all I love the vibe and staff of this place and am definitely coming back!!

Yelp
Foxy Moxy! Here for an event at the bar, so I can't comment on the hotel. But the bar was awesome. As noted by other reviewer's, it is an open, modern space with comfortable pillows happily tossed about, plentiful fun games, chill bartenders, fair food prices, and just an overall good vibe. We sat by the gas flame fireplace, which took the chill off the crisp, cool fall air outside. Hip, comfortable space. Enjoyed the innovative drinks. Will be back.

Yelp
This spot was unexpected. It's not your typical restaurant in a hotel. Very chill laid back atmosphere. You can sit down for a drink, sit in front of the fire, and/or play an array of their different games. Stopped in for a drink and I ended up learning to play chess! Limited food menu but what we did have was spot on. Looking for a fun night? Go here!

Yelp
This review is based solely on the bar. We came here for drinks and they were spectacular, the bartender was phenomenal, he made me a special drink not on the menu, forgot what it was called...something x-mas, and it was delicious. It's a fun place with great ambiance, and lots of board games to choose from, along with the usual jenga and connect 4. Great for dates! Also plenty of seating, and fun cozy spots to hang out in.

Yelp
What I thought would be another boring business trip, actually turned out to be the hippest trip ever. I stayed at the Moxy recently on a business trip. At first I was concerned because I was looking for a traditional hotel registration scene with a person behind a counter wearing a counterfeit corporate smile. I settled in fast when I was warmly greeted and accepted the fact that the bar doubled as the hotel registration counter. The Moxy is so hip and cool that it made feel feel like I was on an adventure. The hotel guests and visitors were so relaxed in the lounge area. Some people were huddled about in small groups chatting and laughing. Others seemed like they were on a retreat in a small breakout group. There were also techies with pods in their ears that looked like they were locked in coding. Then there I was, in awe at how grateful I was to be there in the mix, with my backpack observing the scene, anxious to get in where I fit in. My hotel room wowed me. At first, I just stood there, wondering, "whose guest bedroom in this?" It didn't feel like a hotel room at all. It made me feel young. I turned on some Salsa and danced around the room. I was reenergized from a long day of traveling from airline mishaps and missed connections. Soon, I felt virile, vigorous, and potent. I looked around the room to find where a loud noise was coming from. I thought it was coming from the air conditioner or the refrigerator, but it was the noise cancellation unit mounted on the wall. It made me wonder about what types of noises that one might hear coming from guests in the other rooms that required these machines. So I turned off the machine and listened with delightful curiosity. I walked around downtown, as I waited for my friend for dinner. After dinner, I returned to my room and it felt like home. The shower was modern and cool. The bed was comfortable. I had a great night's sleep. I awoke the next morning and discovered some sort of Nespresso Mini Espresso Machine in my room. That was a nice and thoughtful touch. I know where I'm staying on my next trip to Portland. Thank you Moxy!!!

Yelp
Very Bad Experience with Moxy Portland, OR event booking. Booked a birthday party for my 19 year old, special needs daughter of color. "Great, looking fowward to hosting your event." was the reply. Then we had a complaint that we were quoted $150 for the space, but it changed to $250. We said OK, whatever. Then after we sent invitaions out, got an email, "sorry, we don't want to host your party" too bad for you. We emailed sorry for any bad feelings, let's work it out. Reply was same email, sorry no... Daughter devastated, and had to find other place last minute etc. Rooms might be nice, hotel might be cool, but bad business over $100... Plenty of other great places in Portland, I'd pass on the Moxy.

Yelp
It's all fun and games here at the Moxy in Downtown Portland. I loved my stay here at this fun and laidback hotel while visiting Portland! You can definitely feel the good vibes of the Moxy when you walk through the doors. It's so cool that you check in at the bar where you'll receive a complimentary cocktail! Their bartenders & bar are great and the bar comes well stocked with cocktails, wines and local brews. Definitely had a great time grabbing some drinks there! Along with the bar, I liked that the Moxy has a spacious and open lobby with gathering areas equipped with modern seating for getting work done or just hanging out. It's a nice spot to pick out a board game, grab a drink and chill. I just like the vibe of the spot and it's nice that there's plenty of areas to hang out at after a adventuring through Portland! The services were very good and the hotel was very clean. There's a parking lot right next to the hotel where you can pay for overnight stay. The Moxy is in such a good area because it's surrounded by plenty of places to get food and drinks.

Yelp
Conveniently located with a lot of activity in the lobby. Loved the board games and the bar. Room is hip and stylish. I have zero complaints, except one, and it's a big one. The walls are soooooooo thin. We were nowhere near the elevator and I could here it go up and and down with Guests being let off on different floors! Not to mention hearing everyone's TVs, music or other fun times. We knew something was up when the hotel provides ear plugs. Could not stay here again, which is a shame to say, because I loved it.

Yelp
Good drinks and a very modern and hip vibe located only a couple of blocks from the famous Powell's books. We came in for happy hour on a Saturday. Happy hour is Monday - Saturday from 4 to 6 where all drinks and food are 20% off. We played good Portland tourists and stopped by this bar/ lounge after browsing the shelves and shelves of books at Powell's. I ordered a gin based drink from their speciality cocktail menu and it was delicious. They have a full bar so they can make you any drink you want. We didn't order food because we had dinner plans but they do have a small food menu. The white cheddar Mac and cheese sounded intriguing. They have a lot of indoor seating and even board games scattered around. We tried our hand at connect four. I don't think they have outdoor seating but they do have large sliding glass windows that they kept open that were facing the street. I believe this is the bar part of the Marriott hotel. Didn't stay at the hotel but just walked in and sat down because the atmosphere looked inviting. Great place to grab a drink and relax with a group of friends. Highly recommend.

Yelp
We booked this hotel last minute (a week prior to the stay) via Hotel Tonight for four nights during President's Day weekend and got a great deal. Here are some of the pros and cons: Pros: 1. Centrally located in Downtown, even though Downtown isn't so great right now. However, it's located far enough away from Chinatown, which we were told by locals to avoid, especially at night. There are restaurants nearby, including Jake's Grill (which we went to twice), which is right across the street. Public transportation is also just down the street 2. They give you two tickets for select cocktails/wine/beer as a welcome when you check in 3. Speaking of which, the bar area looks really trendy and cool. They have a ton of games, and there is plenty of space. Plus, they have happy hour specials, but we didn't get a chance to check that out 4. Target is just down the block if you need any essentials 5. You can log into your own Netflix accounts on the TV if you don't feel like watching local cable television 6. Pets are allowed. This can be a pro or con depending on who you are. We don't have a pet but we met the sweetest dog in the lobby one night 7. There's a noise machine in the room Cons: 1. Rooms are pretty small so it's really a no frills type of place 2. There is very little table space aside from one small night table, and a flimsy pull down desk. But to combat this, they've installed plenty of hooks, which I really appreciated 3. There is no ice machine, which is not a big deal but you just have to go to the lobby and ask them for a bucket of ice 4. No room cleaning unless you request it 24 hours ahead of time. I understand this since it's Covid times and they're short staffed, so you just need to remember to request housekeeping. This also means that you will likely not get room cleaning the day after you check in 5. Walls are pretty thin so you always hear someone opening and closing their room doors. I also heard sneezing a few times and it sounded like the person was right outside our door. Good thing there's a sound machine Overall, good option if you are looking to stay Downtown.

Yelp
The Moxy Hotel is a cross between a dorm room/hostel/dive bar. This is a no-frills, tiny rooms with paper-thin walls & floors. You will hear everything and I mean everything and the hotel knows it providing a white noise machine and ear plugs. Sadly that does not cover the endless drumming of the homeless one block away. Before I go on the staff is very present when there. I saw no staff when I dropped off my keys Design: the colors are not for me with cheap greys, greens, dark purple and blues. And the concrete floors and ceilings do not help their noise problem. The itty bitty bathroom has the loudest plumbing and your neighbor will hear it all. Finally, the bed is on cheap boxes with a cheap mattress and itchy scratchy sheets. It is like paying hotel prices to stay in your friend's dorm room.

Yelp
Stay was amazing, but would like to greatly appreciate Dawson for all the help, called days in advance with a few questions and they were very helpful.
