I found this restaurant on Google and decided to dine here after seeing many positive reviews about the food. The space is elegant and beautifully designed, giving the impression of a high-end dining experience. Unfortunately, the reality was completely different from what we expected. The dishes were very ordinary and nothing special, yet the prices were extremely high for what was served. Our bill was about $230, and looking at what we ordered, it’s hard to believe the cost was justified. Most of the dishes could easily be found at any casual Asian restaurant in the U.S., except for the fish. The worst part is what happened after the meal. Both of us experienced food poisoning — severe stomach pain and diarrhea throughout the entire night. Even today, we are still in pain and unable to leave the bed. This became the worst experience of our trip to Miami. This restaurant seems to rely on luxury décor to make you believe you are paying for something special, but the food quality does not match the price at all. For this reason, I cannot recommend this place to anyone !

Mr. Chow Miami is a stylish spot with a great atmosphere. The food is very good and high quality. Be aware that the prices are very high and the service can be somewhat slow. It's a good choice if you prioritize the ambiance for your night out.

Dinner at Mr. Chow feels special from the moment you walk in. The staff sets the tone immediately—warm, professional, and incredibly attentive. What really stands out is how naturally they do it. Mr. Chow is beautiful inside and the customer service is amazing however the food wasn't good at all. No flavor. The white shrimp fried rice was a joke. Some dishes had some potential but needed way more seasoning. Very disappointing.

My husband and I just ate at Mr. Chow and were extremely impressed by the ambiance, the service, and the food! Maya was our server, along with all the staff, and they were all very attentive, formal, and really made our experience so exceptional! We ordered the chicken satay (A MUST), an off menu stir-fry (highly recommend, has a little spice kick to it), Beijing chicken (which has a sauce that I couldn’t get enough of, literally) the green prawns (perfectly cooked), and the shrimp fried rice (not pictured). Everything was delicious. We also got to see the chef give us a show on how he makes the noodles, very fun experience for adults and kids. Highly recommend eating here! We loved it and will be coming back again.

The food at Mr. Chow is consistently phenomenal, with each dish full of flavor and beautifully prepared. The service is attentive and polished, making every visit feel special. This was my third time dining here, and each experience has been just as memorable as the last. The chic atmosphere adds to the overall experience-I’ll definitely be returning again soon!

I had the pleasure of celebrating my birthday at Mr. Chow at the W South Beach, and I can honestly say the night was unforgettable. A huge part of that was thanks to Iva, who delivered absolutely exceptional service from start to finish. She was warm, attentive, and professional, always one step ahead without ever being intrusive. Every detail was handled with such care that it truly elevated the entire experience. Iva made me feel celebrated, welcomed, and taken care of exactly what you hope for on a special day. Thank you, Iva, for making my birthday dinner so memorable. I highly recommend Mr. Chow, and especially Iva, to anyone looking for top-tier service and an amazing dining experience in South Beach. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We had a great anniversary dinner at Mr. Chow. The service is incredibly quick and attentive, especially Maya was very nice. The maple glazed shrimps with walnuts are extraordinarily delicious and the gamblers duck was great as well. The two course menu is $112 per person and includes an appetizer, a main course and a side, the mocktails ($16) were nice as well. For our anniversary, they gave us a free cheesecake to share. Thank you for this nice evening to the whole team at Mr Chow!

Mr Chow was a random pleasant surprise. Came here unknowingly and left with a satisfied impression. Service was remarkable, and the food left me wanting more. The pasta was made with fresh noodles. And the duck was fabulous. I'm going to try and come back here again before leaving town. I read a lot of reviews of ppl complaining about the prices. Don't expect it to be cheap. Me coming from Beijing, I can say I appreciate the quality of the food. If you're looking for a quick bite to eat, and want cheap, go to Panda. This place ain't for you. lol

So, we went here tonight because we were exhausted, and chose not to leave the hotel. I was surprised to see the white tablecloths and the white coated waiters when we entered. All the servers we passed welcomed us. We chose to sit outside as the weather is beautiful. The private booths (with white curtains & canopies is definitely the way to go. Inside was beautiful, but we were happy outside.) Our server and his many assistants (the bring the food, clear the table, check on us etc) were wonderful. The service was top notch, even outside. We chose 2 appetizers and 2 entrees per the waiter's recommendation (they serve family style, but it was just my husband and I). We chose: 1. Salt and pepper shrimp- this was fried with shells on (no heads). This is normally fried with shells, but these had a batter on them that was a bit heavy. Not my favorite (and I LOVE salt& pepper orawns) 2. Lobster shumai- these were wonderful. I'm don't normally like shumai (it's a mouth feel thing), but my husband always gets it. These were wonderful with a big chunk of lobster wrapped in the most delicate, thin noodle. I loved them. (So did hubby) 3. Nine seasons prawns - these were fried, which wasn't mentioned on the menu. We wouldn't have ordered them (after salt& pepper fried prawns) had we known. They were served with bamboo on the side. The flavor was good, if sweet. 4. Sea bass- was fantastic! We got 4 thick pieces of fish cooked PERFECTLY. We think it was in a ponzu ginger sauce which was so flavorful, and not too salty. Definitely order this! Fried rice- very light with mini shrimp and a few soybeans. Bland, but a good foil for the food. Mixed veggies- bok choy, snow pea pods, cauliflower and mushrooms. Bland, but good and perfect for the food. Service was great and our 2 non- fried dishes alone were worth the visit. Oh, bonus! They made me a ginger martini (not on the menu) and it was so good!

I grew up coming to Mr Chow and always loved it. I haven't been here in 12 years but it did not disappoint! I really don't know why it doesn't have better reviews, because the service was excellent and the food was very delicious. Maybe it isn't as sceney as Komodo but if you are an OG Mr Chow fan then that doesn't matter! It was so busy and had great music too! Don't judge it by the Yelp stars, because it was better. We got: Fried rice, sweet and sour pork, Beijing chicken, gamblers duck, pork dumplings, scallion pancake, mr chow noodles, and crispy beef !

Food: 4.5/5 I am obsessed with the food at Mr.Chow. Their food is extremely authentic and delicious. My favorites are the crispy beef, sweet and sour pork, dumplings, and chicken satay. The chicken satay is made with the best sauce and cooked perfectly. The dumplings have the most tasty and soft wontons around the filling. The crispy beef and sweet and sour pork and elevated and more fresh versions of your favorite take out classics. My only complaint is the extremely small portions and high prices but in my opinion it's totally worth it! Service: 5/5 Mr. Chow is AMAZING service. These servers literally cater to your every need and can answer any question. They are constantly cleaning and checking up on you without that stuck up attitude a lot of servers at nicer restaurants have. Drinks: 3/5 We ordered a bottle of champagne and it was just okay for being so expensive Ambiance: 5/5 Mr. Chow is a beautiful restaurant with amazing decor, lighting, and is very clean

mazing! From service to food, to ambience to location to how beautiful this place and is how great it smelled. The fact that the second we wanted to touch our wine bottle, someone would pop up out of nowhere and fill our glasses. Very grateful for a good service. The food was so good and delicious, we had the lobster dumplings, lobster rice noodles, the duck and vegetable fried rice and literally everything was DELICIOUS! We were beyond impressed. Thank you Mr. Chow! Keep up the great work.

The servicce here is as i remebered from the past, friendly and attentive and prompt. The cocktails were great. The food is not quite on the same level as the great service

Last nights dining experience at Mr. Chow was subpar overpriced Chinese American cuisine. This was not a fine dining experience at all with the exception of the beautiful greeting and welcome by a fine Black gentleman who seated me beautifully and placed my napkin across my lap so elegantly. He gets 5 stars! The service team really tried to provide stellar service but it was overkill as they overcompensated with too many waiters standing around trying to "look" busy. My waiter over talked and was unable to provide an accurate description of the dishes served on the menu. They only provided 1 menu to the table which was a bit confusing considering 2 of us were dining. Too many table tightly seated on top of each other (did you guys forget about the global pandemic?! That still exists). The food was flavorful and the serving of bakchoy for $32 was barely enough to feed my 17month child. The very small serving of lobster shumai was dry and should come with a dipping sauce. My fav of the night was the green beans with a spicy chilly tang with grounded pork. There was absolutely no dessert as they havent gotten any food deliveries. Solution: the restaurant should have complimentary dark trufffles of chocolate for the guests spending $500 for a date night of 2 something sweet is appreciated with your coffee or cognac. I love the W hotels but Mr. Chow in SoBe is not fine dining at all, it is a nicely overpriced American-Chinese meal with no leftovers for take out Lol Go once if you must but there is definitely no need to return a second time when there are so many amazing restaurants to try in Miami Beach. Final bill $425 for 2 and no dessert! Not worth it!

Good was amazing, very busy night with Art Basel Miami but ate the prefix meal and was very happy. Will always go to Mr. Chow when I come to town.

Let me tell you something I haven't eaten at Mr chow for a few years now. I went last night and there is no reason ever someone should have something bag to say. Service was top notch. I only Remember one of the gentleman's name which Im sorry but Santos and everyone were all a pleasure. Food was on point like never before! Chicken Satays were double the size of what I remember. Water dumplings were perfect, walnut shrimp was nuts like so good the shrimp was so fresh and bouncy fried perfectly, Bartender was skilled and made perfect cucumber martinis. Which I'm guilty of having too many and forgot to take pictures of food lol. Drunken fish is exactly how I remember love those wood ear mushrooms. I didn't try the bejing chicken or lamb shank but my friends say best they have had from chows. The ambiance is always perfect. Sexiest Chinese restaurant in the world. Moral of the story, people complain about the Miami location sometimes but I have to disagree. Eaten over 100 times there and it was always amazing. Mr Chow runs a tight ship and his restaurant are dedicated to great technique and quality which shows. Looking forward to coming back

We were at a meeting in the W hotel and at the conclusion of the meeting stopped into Mr. Chow for dinner. The restaurant is visually spectacular and the staff caring and professional, if a bit overbearing. The food is your neighborhood Chinese restaurant food served with a bit more flare. The prices are offensive! Look at the menu before you order and think twice as we didn't. We couldn't imagine what we'd get when we ordered as we figured at those prices it would have to be special. It wasn't special and we'd have been smarter to call in an order to our neighborhood Chinese restaurant which would have been waiting for us when we got home. Suffering from a severe case of buyers remorse not treatable with Tums!

Back to Mr Chow after some time. The place looks the same but still keeps that touch of elegance; far from the most Miami modern style. Service was excellent, a little over the top . There are a lot of people working there but definitely Need a little of coordination. Five servers at the same time welcoming at the table and saying good evening was weird. We asked for the cocktail menu and still they bring a cart offering champagne. We order already dessert from the menu and still they bring us the dessert cart. We paid the bill and still were asking if we wanted coffee. But overall the service was excellent. But more importantly the food was totally average, good but forgettable. Not much difference between this and the Chinese neighborhood restaurant - just in a fancy place and with over the top service and a hight price tag. No worth it !!

I've been to Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills, Las Vegas and Miami. All three restaurant experiences have been extremely consistent with the food quality being identical. During our visit we ordered the red dragon dumplings (a favorite), the salt and pepper shrimp, Fiery Beef and Sweet and Sour Chicken. Everything was served hot and was amazing. But a great restaurant also has great service. Jose Torres, the Manager / Maitre D' was amazing. He stopped by our table several times to ensure everything was in order. He even sent some deserts to our table as we are frequent diners at Mr. Chow. Mr. Chow is an outstanding experience with both food and service highly rated. This IS a fine dining restaurant, and you should expect to pay for that level or service and cuisine. Mr. Chow remains one of our very favorite restaurants, and we always visit whenever we are in town.

So I'm late to the party as this was my 1st time at Mr. Chow. I read some of the reviews after my visit and have to agree, but don't think this restaurant deserves less than 4 stars. Going in, I knew the place was going to be Chinese food done over the top, however I didn't expect the service to be 5 stars over the top! The greetings with eye contact, pulling out the chair and placing the cloth over my lap made the experience even more personalized. I will say while eating it was a bit much, as I kinda wanted to be left alone between bites. Ordering was a bit confusing. I guess I fell for the trick where they have a selected menu already, whereas I was planning to order what I wanted a La carte. I did get a little bit of everything. I ordered the shrimp with walnuts which was delicious, lettuce wraps, bok choy, vegetable fried rice, soft shell crab ,duck and Mr. Chow noodles. For beverages I had a glass of champagne and a mojito. My friend ordered those basic lettuce wraps as I don't know why he ordered that as I can make those at home! The duck was not my favorite and tasted a bit over cooked. I wish I would have gotten the fiery beef instead. The Mr chow noodles were delicious and I ordered them after seeing how they are made on YouTube. I did enjoy the integrity of the noodles and the nice bite. The crab was mixed with egg white and was meh. Seemed like filler. I'd prefer if they found another way to prepare and present this menu item but I guess they do that so you may add to the rice perhaps?!! All items were plated elegantly and quite tasty however once the bill came I did walk away hungry still and with a $204 tab after splitting it with my friend . This place is quite pricey and I think is more so a service based experience. I have had much better Chinese for around $50. I hate to say that but I'm being honest. The "it" factor is the service and each item being nicely plated on silver serving trays. Will I be back, yes! Ambiance is great and although the service was a bit much, that experience is nice every now and then. I just learned how to order here and know going in what to expect next time.

if you're already on yelp and not here to write a review, consider yourself lucky! do not come here expecting the Mr. Chows Kanye west ordered while using his one call at jail back in 2008. Sadly this place has diminished since then. I am all for quality food and can easily justify paying high for good food. so please understand when i say $875 for 5 people is not ok for this restaurant to charge. Especially when i can order authentic Chinese for $75 going all out. im not even here to compare to other places. we ordered the menu pre fix of $98 per person. The food on its own is offensive, the service is uncomfortable. something about an empty restaurant is daunting but we reasoned it with being a week night. The second we got seated, 4 staff members stood in front of us. The. whole. time. At that point they should've gotten themselves chairs and joined our conversation. They were in front of our table UNTIL when we started eating and needing things from them. All of this to say: the food isnt terrible but its what you would expect when eating a microwavable meal. its simply an EXPENSIVE pfchangs frozen dish.

Staff was attentive and always prompt. Everything our server Santo suggested was top notch. Nice ambiance overall and some really drinks at the bar.

complete scam do not ever come here whatsoeverr. food, service and price. it was a horrible experience all i did was argue about pricing with the employee who comes back and forth with the manager saying this and that. makes zero sense and if i could help the world in any way possible i can tonight this would be it. Decided to have my birthday dinner here as I really wanted good Chinese foos and was hoping this would be the place. Pros: The staff and service was great Beautiful decor Cons: Food is mediocre at best. Can get better at Panda Express Pricing is ridiculous. I believe we spent $280 for two people. Shark Fin Soup (imitation) on the menu. Why even have an imitation version of a soup like this? WTF? Definitely pass on this place if you're thinking about it.

WOW this is complete scam. Portion size is so small not even appetizer, but they charge for main course. Duck was a joke 1/4 of portion. Main agenda of all waiters is to put as much as possible water in your glass because each bottle is $10.... Take your money to different place!!!

This is one of my favorite places in Miami USUALLY. I was not as satisfied this time. I've been coming here 10 years plus but this trip the usual Walnut Shrimp I order tasted much different. Can't say exactly what it was but it definitely was not as good. The other I teams were good. Atmosphere was awesome! Service was excellent!

The Best experience ever..... Immediately when we walked in Every Single Person greeted us that worked on the floor. Literally. They were in a line. The food....OMG, one word...,Amazing!!!! 100% going to try Each Location.

It was my first time at Mr. Chow and I really enjoyed the experience. When you walk into the restaurant everyone is very nice and pleasant. The ambiance and the vibe is very luxurious it smells like fresh flowers which I really liked. The waiter was very nice, he gave us a rundown of the menu. We order two chicken items one being the infamous chicken satay which was amazing. We ordered a beef entree and 5 lychee martinis which I loved and highly recommend.

I dined here on Mother's Day. Our reservation was for 6PM and we were a party of 3. We valeted because South Beach parking...LOL. We checked in and were immediately seated at our table. The dining room was adorned with beautiful arrangements of all white orchids and hydrangeas and the floral scent filled the room. Our server and his assistant were extremely attentive, almost to a fault. The dining room was fairly empty when we first arrived therefore the staff wasn't busy. As the dining room filled up they were tending to other tables yet still available to us when needed. There was a Mother's Day special which we ordered from. The food was delicious! My favorite dishes were the lobster vermicelli and the duck. Pricey but worth the occasion! Babe made another reservation to dine with his friends in a couple of weeks.

The service is top notch, they have a ton of staff working. Food is okay, feels a bit outdated (decor and food) but still good. Wouldn't be jumping at the chance to go back, but happy to pop in if I'm staying in the hotel and want something close.

I feel the people that give a low rating of Mr Chow's either don't know or understand the legend of this landmark London restaurant. From the minute you walk in this opulent interior you are greeted warmly. My suggestion-talk to the staff and let them know what you're looking for. They are knowledgeable and super helpful. While their wine by the glass selection is limited, they let me taste a couple before I decided. Having been to Mr Chows in LA and London, this was the best for sure.

Service was amazing. The food was Chinese but very unique and flavorful. Not your typical Chinese food. I especially liked the music selection. Eclectic music you would not expect at a Chinese restaurant.

I wanted to try Mr. Chow because of its interesting background and I am from China. Reminds me of food I knew growing up in China. Another reason is that there is a paucity of Chinese restaurants in SOBE. All servers wore white dinner jackets, bow ties, polished, beautiful hostesses, impeccable service. However, the food is no better than an above average chines restaurant in some of the bigger city Chinatowns, and definitely not even close to the best eateries in Chinatown. Given the exorbitant prices, the value is simply lacking unless one needs to feel the need to be pampered in a corporate style high end restaurant which is a dime a dozen in SOBE.

My family and I visited the restaurant to celebrate Father's Day and my father's 60th birthday, hoping for a memorable experience similar to the ones he's had there in the past. However, our expectations were far from met. Despite having a reservation at 7PM and specifically requesting a pleasant table for the special occasion, we were seated in an unoccupied area with blaring Latin music. Although I politely asked for a change in music, the staff merely lowered the volume and replaced it with an equally unsuitable selection. The presence of gold dividers in the restaurant gave the impression of being tucked away near the dishwashing area, rather than enjoying a proper dining setting. Furthermore, the quality of the food left much to be desired. We ordered the chicken appetizer, which tasted oddly like buffalo and cheese sauce--a far cry from the expected flavor profile. To our surprise, each skewer came at a hefty price of $18, despite lacking the value and taste that one would associate with such a cost.

I love the Miami Mr. Chows location. We stayed at the W, so we had to make a stop. The place is stunningly gorgeous. Staff is in crisp white, and the outdoor space is just breathtaking. We opted to eat outside. Food was amazing as always, service, ambiance. Hands down this is one of my favorite spots in Miami to eat.

Mr. Chow holds a lot of memories for me so my love for this restaurant runs deep. Mr. Chow in NYC is where my husband asked me to marry him over 13 years ago. So we've been enjoying this restaurant together in New York and Miami for many, many years. Five Stars? Yes. Still, there are a couple things to take note of that some may find negative... - The cost -- Mr. Chow is not a restaurant to go to if you're on a budget. It's a high end restaurant where you should expect to spend over $250 plus a 20% tip that will not be added automatically. Our bill is usually $300 to $400 for two people. - The mild flavors -- Try not to compare these flavors to the typical Asian flavors we are served in America. These flavors are understated and mild, which is one of the things I love. However some may prefer or be used to bolder, in-your-face flavors. Why I love it... It's fancy and I love a fancy, adult night out -- However, you can get dressed up or wear more casual attire (not too casual, ok?). Still, keep it fly because it is Mr. Chow. Good for kids? Maybe, if your kids are older and well-behaved and enjoy fine dining. I personally would not choose this place for a family night out. My kids would take away from the chill, grown up experience. You feel like a celebrity, taken care of at the highest level -- Customer service is so important and this establishment treats its patrons well. Everyone greets you, and in the 20+ years I've been a customer, I've never had bad service or felt like they thought I shouldn't be dining there. Good service is part of their DNA so if you don't get good service, politely bring that to the manager's attention because that is not the norm. The food is consistent, always -- We always order Chicken Satay with the creamy peanut sauce, the Squab (or chicken) Lettuce Wraps with the perfect plum sauce, and Ma Mignon, the melt-in-your moth filet. We'll add a few other items like the Beijing Chicken with walnuts - perfect flavor, and Shrimp Fried Rice is offered as a complimentary side dish - lacking flavor on its own but great with the other items. True to Asian cuisine, the food is ready quickly so you never feel like you're waiting too long to eat. The Ambiance -- Fancy, elegant yet cool, casual meets upscale, classic while still modern, sexy, just sexy. Great, strong drinks - I've always ordered martinis - Cosmos or Lemon Drops but the bar can make anything and make it well. The ingredients are fresh (my lemon drop martini was made with fresh squeezed lemons). They also have a stellar selection of wine and champagne. Until next time, Mr. Chow. Until next time.

I write you this review from the fantastic restroom located close by Mr. Chow's at the W. As my bowels discharge with fury unseen since 80's in Miami; I can only think of how I regret every bite taken of this glorified road stop food. I'm not sure if I was served a chicken Satay or someone's lost cat covered in canned gravy. The "Chow's Noodles" reminds me of the cafeteria spaghetti... These watery and over cooked noodles topped with a greasy sloppy joe meets boloñese topping will haunt me longer than my middle school memories. I'm sweating at this point, I think my intestines are coming out. Dear lord, save me. Somehow, what now lies beneath me still looks better than the shredded "chicken" given to us for lettuce wraps. Lettuce have some more toilet paper. Worst meal I've ever had...

It was good but I have other places I like better so I did not leave a full 5 stars. It was good food and good service but too loud for my taste. For someone who likes a trendy hot spot, it's perfect.

mr chows is so delicious every time!! it was my first visit to the miami location and it did not disappoint. my sister loved it too. get the duck!!! but everything is amazing. the service is amazing at this location and the ambiance with the outdoor cabanas is beautiful.

The service staff is excellent. Located in the W Hotel lobby you will see famous faces. 5 stars for service. The food is a little over priced for the taste. We ordered the shrimp with walnuts which was phenomenal. The chicken satay is also good. The steamed dumpling were not my favorite, but my friend loved them. They have a burst of meat water inside them that I didn't like. The sauces provided with the food was great. The Ma Mignon is an extra charge but very tough, so bring your dentures or nutrabullet. The fried rice and mixed vegetables were good also.

Mr. Chow is NOT social distancing. Our table was less than a foot away from the take next to us and we noticed they were about to seat as large group there. We brought this to the staffs attention to get something more socially distanced and were told other areas were worse...comforting. We asked that if anything better opened up to move us. My parents didn't want to leave but I was reallllllly annoyed. The thing is, Mr. Chow is Mr. Chow and clearly the mass amounts of negative reviews don't have an impact--the place was packed...literally. I hate to say I understand, but the food is really good! Everything was fresh and tasty. We had general reccomendations: crispy duck, pork dumpling, chicken lettuce wraps, sole, fried rice, candied walnut shrimp, etc. Everything was amazing. The service was like the social distancing, subpar. In addition to blatantly ignoring us and "getting the MD" To discuss social distancing we also had to hound the staff for things we ordered. I would more than likely get Mr. Chows in miami again (I find the food to be better than the one in NY) but I will never eat in the restaurant, I would only do take out.

Don't waste your time or your money. Completely and thoroughly terrible. Bad in every way. Food: Panda is 10x better. Our filet mignon was so bad I don't know how to explain it...sort of like beef flavored ramen noodle seasoning coating the meat and it was raw with this thick disgusting gravy on it. Chicken satays: vomit inducing: they coated them in some weird red stuff then drowning in a thick white sloppy sauce: horrid. Service: they hover and stalk you: way too much staff and all they do is watch every move you make! You can't get 5 solid minutes without someone walking over and asking you dumb questions. Our bill was $500+ ($175 bottle of champagne was good) It would have been better to go to Panda Express for a good solid meal and then donate $450 to anyone in need. I regret walking into this place, yuck!

Not sure why the ratings aren't that great. We had the 5 course meal for two including the duck, everything was so good! The spicy green shrimp was my fav. The drinks were absolutely delicious & the staff were extremely attentive and helpful, especially to make recommendations and break down the menu. We got to see the noodles being cut by the chef and it really was all a fantastic experience! The restaurant itself is in the hotel lobby of the W, and the whole area is really just a VIBE. Perfect for a date night, or special occasion. Highly recommend, and would be happy to come again!

Absolutely love this restaurant. Have been coming here for years. The food is magnificent, especially the duck. Service is 100% top notch. Alex is always there to ensure we get a good table and are treated as VIP guests. Just live this place.

If you are looking for a fancy night out and are sick of the steak houses, this is a great alternative. Great service and ambiance, (waiters wearing tuxes has that high class feel). A great date night/anniversary place. Food is pricey, but we would come back. The overall experience was great. The duck was amazing, shrimp dim sum, crab soup, all above par. I don't go out to save money, I go out to have a great time. This met my expectations.

It would have been 1 star but this was during COVID.. seated 40 minutes late after reservation, tables weren't socially distanced. I didn't get my cocktail the first time and it took another 30 min before I did. They never came back asking others if they wanted a refresh of cocktails. But, geesh .. the food was bomb and people were nice.. but, they either need to limit reservations or make sure their is adequate staff.

For one, though I don't recall reading this on the Miami Spice page, they limit Miami Spice to groups of 2 or more. I have no problem paying for good food as my 1300+ reviews indicate but I do have an issue with quality. I'd been curious about this spot for awhile, and decided to take advantage of M.S. to sample my asian food fix. However, I was not impressed and think I will stick with my usual Asian spot (waterfront as well, on the other side of the causeway). My appetizer was a single skewer chicken satay with a peanut sauce. The sauce was slightly sweet (I liked!) And served with a side of spicy sauce. A little small for the price but OK. My main was their Beijing chicken. This was $38 for a small plate of essentially cubes of sweet and sour chicken, with no side garnishes. The taste was comparable with my neighborhood chinese joint, nothing spectacular. Speaking of sides, and since I'm allergic to shellfish, I was offered a vegetable rice with some eggs. What I was served was white rice with a few pieces of green onions. This had no eggs, no other vegetables, no soy sauce, none of anything. This was white rice even I could make. Oh and that Mr. Chow hot sauce served with my app? It disappeared when they cleaned out those plates. They offered dessert or coffee, but at that point I wasn't feeling anymore overpriced "chow". Basically you're just paying for decor, location and the greetings of the wait staff as you walk in. I'm still hungry!

Ridiculously expensive average chinese take out food. Literally the worst dinner ever. Literally can feed the street cats with that. Total rip off. Service was good but that wont give it a second star unfortunately. I dont even understand how this survives in such a prime location and with so much competition around. Maybe because its the only chinese place idk. Never again.

As the saying goes, "if I could give 0 stars, I would." Extremely disappointed with the service and staff. I have dined with Mr. Chow for years in both Malibu and New York. This was my first time dining in the Miami location, which I didn't even get to do. Our reservation was at 8:30 and they still could not sit us at 9:27. The hostesses looked like deer in headlights and frankly I don't think they knew what they were doing. There were dozens of people around the hostess stand and honestly it seemed like a fire hazard. No one could give us an answer as to what was happening. In my opinion they took too many reservations that they could not accommodate. Unprofessional and irresponsible. Not sure what the point of making a reservation even was. One of the staff members even said "I couldn't even tell you how long," and she was just writing people's names down on a piece of paper. But they use a computer to check in clients? Who knows what's happening there. They sure don't. Best of luck if you make a reservation.

If I could give this restaurant negative stars I would. Where do I start? We chose to dine here because we were guests at the W and we wanted a nice but convenient location to celebrate my 35th birthday before going out for the night. We arrived about 10mins late for our 8:30pm reservation. Upon arrival we were told by the hostess (who was definitely not trained in hospitality) that we would have to wait until a table opened up. There was no other information provided as to when we would be seated despite having a reservation. We continued to wait for over 1 hour to be seated for a reservation which is outrageous. We would periodically check in with the hostess who would blatantly ignore us or be dismissive towards us or if she finally spoke, did not offer any real information or update. Yet, other customers would arrive after us and be seated immediately. When we were finally seated almost an hour and a half later, there were no napkins at our table, no water, no menu. These are all items we had to flag down a waiter to bring which took a while. Within minutes of finally receiving the menu, our server decided to promptly appear and command us to place our orders immediately because the restaurant was busy and if he did not take our orders then, we would be subject to even more waiting. We rushed through and placed our orders quickly without having time to properly review the menu. My appetizer came out. We waited for a while and my companion's appetizer still did not arrive. By this time I was famished and began to eat. I finished my appetizer and her app had still not come out. My appetizer, the chicken satay, was pretty bland and felt like they microwaved an item bought at Trader Joe's (and even that would have been more flavorful and authentic). We had to flag down a waitstaff to ask about the missing appetizer (shrimp roll) because our server failed to check in on us even once after taking our order. We waited for almost an hour and finally our server appeared to let us know our entrees were ready and would be right out. We still had not received the appetizer. At this point, we were beyond frustrated with the restaurant, the staff, the whole experience and asked him to just box our food so we can take it up to our room. I kid you not, it took them almost an additional hour to box our food to go despite the server saying it was being brought out when he initially came to our table and we made the request. To make matters worse, he stood directly next to our table when he advised the manager on duty that there was an issue at our table because we asked for the food to go without touching it. The manager simply waved his hands, said something to the effect of it doesn't matter, and walked away. When we finally received our food and brought it to our room, we were too exhausted from the almost 3+ hours of waiting and frustrated by the overall horrible experience to want to eat but tried anyway. Both of our entrees (the prawns and the velvet chicken) were awful. The portions were small and the food was lacking any flavor. There seemed to be no effort or thought put into creating the dishes. We ended up throwing both meals in the trash. I've been to countless restaurants all over the US and internationally and this is by far the absolute worst restaurant I have ever been to. Everything from the staff to the actual food was abysmal. Literally nothing about this experience was good, or even marginally decent for a business to still be in operation. I would never set foot in another Mr. Chow's establishment again.

I booked a one person reservation at Mr. Chow due to my boyfriend flight late arrival. I had absolutely the best experience and it was all due to my waiter Rodriguez. He was extremely professional and attentive to all of my needs. He recommended that I order the sea bass and the dumplings and honestly both dishes were filling and so delicious. Thank you Rodriguez for being so awesome!
