A local favorite for Taiwanese-style plates, clay pots, and milk tea. Frequently praised by local food writers for authentic flavors, it’s where many point visitors first. Expect salted crispy chicken, Hui’s Crazy Spicy Chicken, and late-evening service.

The food was a bit hit and miss. 5-stars because these were some of the best cream cheese rangoons I’ve ever had! So, so good. Egg drop soup lacked flavor and wasn’t very good. The short ribs weren’t what I was expecting as the menu picture made it seem like Korean short ribs, but these were just beef chunks with bones in them. Quite a bit of fat and not much char on the meet despite the sizzle of the skillet.

For the longest time this has been one of my favorite spots. Just today, I ordered carryout and got home to discover one of my egg rolls was missing! I called and they offered to go above and beyond to make it right. Not many places go the extra mile anymore! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for great food and great service.

Family owned kitchen. First time coming here and the food was great! Good size portions, all made fresh and hot. We had the Mongolian beef, sesame chicken and dumpling soup. Enough food to share between 3 of us! Will definitely come back.

Ordered takeout and I was a little unsure based on some of the recent reviews, but it did not disappoint! They were slammed so we waited longer than expected, but you could see and hear them working really hard. It smelled so good in there while we were waiting, too. Thank you for the delicious food, we loved everything! 😋 This is what we ordered and it was plenty of food for two very hungry adults: 1 x Lo Mein (Xiao long bao)

I have known about Mr. Hui's for almost a year because it's close to the Little King I frequently visited in 2022. In January 2023, I finally gave it a try. I decided to visit during my lunch, and I love Chinese food. I was greeted right away when I walked in. There was a little confusion at first because the woman behind the counter thought I was there to pick up an order. After I ordered and let her know I was going to eat there, she had me seated in a booth. I ordered the Mongolian Beef lunch special. I didn't have to wait long for the food. I asked for a glass of water to drink. I didn't get it right away, but the woman realized she forgot it and took it to me within a couple of minutes and apologized. Nice recovery. The lunch special came with some fried rice, an egg roll, and 2 crab ragoons. While I was there, I noticed that most customers were taking their orders to go. Maybe dinner time is different. The quality of the food was good. Everything was hot and fresh. I also thought the portion size was perfect for lunch. I don't like eating so much for lunch that I want to take a nap during the 2nd half of a workday. The price was also very fair. Lincoln has been blessed with several good Chinese food restaurants, and this is one of them. Since my first visit, I have been in several times and tried several of their lunch specials. I have been pleased with all of them. I also tried their different bubble teas. They are very good. Addictive even. This is not a place I would recommend if you only have a 30 minute lunch break though. I'm so glad I get an hour for lunch.

Google
This is my mom’s favorite spot so when I am in town I take her here for lunch. Food is always good. Service can be slow at times but it is a mom and pop shop so the wait is worth it. Prices are also very good compared to many places. Last time I was here I got the braised pork! Very traditional style! Loved it!

We drove one hour to eat at Mr. Hui! Yummy authentic Taiwanese & SE Chinese food in Lincoln, NE. Very friendly and courteous servers! Highly recommend trying this restaurant if you want to have some delicious Chinese cuisine!

Yelp
Great food, fast service! We had braised pork, beef chow fun, and deep fried chicken. Excellent flavors in all dishes. Will be back when we pass through Lincoln!

Yelp
Well since Yelp wants to get involved with my reviews I guess I'll just call them out here and say this is a Yelp enhanced review. I'm going to post my original review and then add asterix to add more filler to make Yelp happy. Evidently we have to keep our masters on Yelp happy now too we don't even have freedom of speech here. Start of the original review, and if I'm being honest it seemed like it was written by an 8-year-old which was fitting because I thought the food was cooked by an 8-year-old. The edited context will be prefixed by an asterisk. Gross *When the order arrived it literally stunk through the bag. When we open the bag it didn't help as we noticed our food was certainly far from appetizing in appearance and smell. It just looked dead and lifeless even though it was still hot, I'll give him that it was hot. Just gross.... Greasy flavorless cr*p *Okay the word above with four letters starting with c may have been what set me off on the Yelp sensors but anyway it was that definitely greasy flavorless something something. It was that type of noodle where you would just bite into it and it was a mouthful of disgusting flavorless greasy mush which I'm sure anybody that is a frequent restaurant traveler has experienced. Hard pass *This is the indicate I would not prefer to eat here again ever nor would I recommend you do Gross *Here I am simply reinforcing the point that this food is completely disgusting and unsalvageable. I tried to give it to my dog but at a good conscience I couldn't do it and threw in the garbage. Just gross.... Greasy flavorless cr*p * There's that word again but I am so disgusted at this food at this point because I ordered multiple things and they all were garbage. Everything in the order was just disgusting and inedible. *I'll add that I find it amazing when you see restaurants like this with reasonable scores but incredibly poor food. It just goes to show that either they are playing games with friends and false ratings or they just frankly serve a whole lot of drunk people at 2:00 in the morning who really don't care. either way if you have an option use it.

Yelp
Best food I've ever had in my life; absolutely spectacular!! King Pao Triple Delight 10/10 Crazy Spicy Chicken 10/10 The menu is downright exciting!! I can't wait to visit Lincoln again just to dine at Mr. Hui's!! Absolutely phenomenal, plus my fortune turned true!!!

Yelp
Great food at at a great price! Friendly, fast, and tasty. Highly recommend, much better than other Chinese restaurants in the area.

Yelp
I really enjoyed trying this place the other night. My date and I were very hungry after work and wanted chinese food. We thought about doing takeout but we're glad to be able to sit down and enjoy it. Service was great and very friendly. I know that prices are higher on everything but it seemed a bit too high... I guess I have other favorite places that I feel are worth more possibly. The crab Rangoon was my favorite part though. They were so delicious! :)

Yelp
Here's the thing - it's fine. Normal Americanized Chinese food. Quantity over quality. Serving size over flavor. We had the general Tso chicken, Mongolian beef and egg drop soup... it was all very greasy and bland. The problem with "fine" in a place like Lincoln is there are massively better options at or below this price! Even just within the realm of Chinese takeout... Do a little looking at reviews and you can do better.

Yelp
If you haven't tried this place, the loss is yours. The freshest ingredients are prepared well. Nice clean restaurant with a very friendly staff. We eat here once a week and are never disappointed. Thank you Mr Hui!

Yelp
First of let me just say, I wasn't too sure about this place in the beginning due to how quiet and not busy the restaurant was. I am from Malaysia, and Chinese restaurants tend to be noisy and banging. So, with that being said, I am half Chinese and this place took me back home with the food. The noodles was perfectly soft and tasted truly amazing with every bite. The fried rice was just amazingly delicious with every spoonful and just had the right amount of salt and pepper to it. There are a lot of Americanized Chinese Restaurants out there however this one is a hidden gem in the making with more of a Taiwanese authenticity. Definitely will come back in the future.

Yelp
We have been to other location but not here prior. Having Steam Buns and Tofu with Crispy Bean Blend. Hot tea drink. All was real good. The steam buns were better. These are what I have seen on travel shows as dumplings. And what I search for. Maybe I ask for incorrect name. Anyway this was all really good.

Yelp
Mr Hui's. Do us a favor and quit serving Shrimp with Lobster Sauce. YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO MAKE IT! It is difficult to find a restaurant that serves good Shrimp with Lobster Sauce, as the sauce is usually thin, but Mr Hui's takes this to a whole new level by basically serving you the shrimp and other ingredients in sauce that has the consistency of water. The dish is also virtually flavorless. Zero stars. Don't buy.
google avatar

Mel A.

Yelp
Delicious and fresh food made to order and served in huge portions. The jalapeño beef was to die for!

Maria M.

Yelp
Friendly staff and good food! The broccoli would have been better if it were cooked longer, and we weren't huge fans of the steamed buns (a bunch of water squirted out of them when you bit in) but overall good experience. We had a better food experience at Mr. Huis 2 on Pioneers.

Yelp
We ordered 3 bubble teas along with meals from Mr. Hui's over their web page for take-out. One bubble tea was made correctly with the tapioca bobas. The other two were not bubble teas at all. One was a plain glass of tea in a plastic, sealed bubble tea cup. The other was coffee with milk, again, in a plastic, sealed, bubble tea cup. All the bubble teas had instructions as to the tapioca bobas and 1/2 sugar. We were charged full price for the three "bubble teas". I called the store and thought the manager would quickly and easily fix the problem. We are very regular and good customers for many years. Instead she blew us off. She hung up on us. I am sorry this turned out the way it did. We always enjoyed Mr. Hui's food. But now we do not feel that we want to patronize them any longer. The manager was completely unprofessional and antagonistic. If I could give them less than one star, that would be more appropriate.

Yelp
I have eaten here a few times now. Amazing food - this last time, it was even kind of late in the night and the food was still amazing. Some of the best crab Rangoon I have ever had.
google avatar

Yelp
I ordered a truly impressive amount of food for takeout. It was ready on time, delicious, and reasonable.

Yelp
Check your bill! The food here was good but not their business practice. I ordered the combination fried rice and the menu had the price of $7.95. When I got the bill, the fried rice was $8.95. When I questioned the person working there, she just said "Oh, it is a typo [on the menu]." What a convenient typo for the business. No apology, no further explanation. They also charge an extra $1 for the fried rice upgrade for another dish and the waitress didn't mention the surcharge during the order. That's not as a big deal to me, since it can be expected that they would charge more for fried rice than white rice (but not always the case) but it's courteous to mention the extra charge. I just think it's deceitful to have a menu with one price and charge the customer with another. I won't be coming back here or recommending the restaurant to anyone. There are other great options in the area with good business practice. ....| \ _ , , , - - , , _ , .../ , ` . - ' ` ' . _ \ - ; ; ; , _ ..| , a - ) ) _ . ; . Yelp
This place used to be our go-to for Chinese food in Lincoln but not anymore. Years ago it was superb from what I remember and in July of 2020 it was the best, so whoever was the chef then needs to come back because over the last few years it has been lackluster to say the least. Just last night I ordered the shrimp chow fun and beef fried rice, please note that these are very easy dishes to make, however these dishes lacked flavor, it was like the beef fried rice was white rice with some coloring in it because it had no taste with beef thrown in it, and the shrimp chow fun the noodle was so overcooked and greasy I really couldn't eat it. So I don't know if they use too much oil or what happened but what a disaster. This was the worst ever so we are never coming back. This place has been going down hill the last couple of years but last night's order took the cake, I could have had a nuked hot dog and been happier. What a waste of money I would love a refund on last night's meal I picked up. Let me know when you hire the better chef that you had before and I'll come back otherwise sayonara. It was good while it lasted. Too bad it changed for the worst.

Yelp
The food is absolutely superb! The vegetables are very fresh, and the food was warm and tasty. I would definitely order from them again.
google avatar

Luis P.

Yelp
This place was very popular I think it was the price point. Food a little mediocre and not the best Chinese food you can have- was traveling cross country and pulled off with a taste for Chinese cuisine. Yelp said it was a 4 star establishment. I really can't agree. A hole in the wall in a strip mall. I agree that the price reflects the quality. Like Cala seem to heavily patronize. I prefer a higher quality and tasteful product. But to each their own.
google avatar

Trinity B.

Yelp
This place wasn't my best experience. We walked in and no one acknowledged us. We went up and ordered and when I said we were eating in she rolled her eyes at me and proceeded to be unkind. The crab Rangoon had HUGE chunks of crab in them and was over bearing. And the sesame chicken was soggy and chewy. Not worth the $20.
google avatar

Tommy L.

Yelp
I have been a customer for a long time, but sadly I don't think I will be ordering from them again. The food was terrible and I'm pretty sure they just fried up bones and sent them to me..and I'm pretty sure the chicken I ordered was not chicken at all..
google avatar

Speedball T.

Yelp
Really good food, had the beef and broccoli, chicken fried rice, and the pan fried dumplings. Could use more of the sauce that came with the dumplings... that's the only gripe. Not a reason to deny the fifth star, but to get the fifth star it has to be above and beyond. This was definitely the best I've had in a long time though.

Marty A.

Yelp
Terrible service, even though there were only 7 people in the restaurant. My server did not explain the dish I was ordering, and it came out basically as chicken jerky with no sauce, which I promptly sent back. Got out appetizers at the end of the meal. Nothing tasted good. Will never return.

Rah L.

Yelp
The food is always good when I call and order. When I go in the customer service is poor. They are very rude to black ppl. I decided to go in store and order, I was told there was a 10 min wait after ignoring the rudeness and having my credit card snatched out my hand, when I came in to get my food I was being stared at while grabbing napkins and condiments as if I shouldn't have, open my doin when I get home and my fried rice isn't even fried, and the vegetables in it still hard and raw. I've been coming here a while but this is the last straw!

Omaha R.

Yelp
Seafood soup is a fake-meat ensemble Fake crab, fake scallop, two shrimps... And tons of noodles, that's what my seafood soup was made of. At $10 a large bowl, I didn't expect lobster and king-crab in my soup, but a little real of anything would have worked.
google avatar

Dana A.

Yelp
The food was so delicious. The service we received at the restaurant was excellent and good! And also the best and fast deliveries!
google avatar

Erika J.

Yelp
Love stopping here whenever we are in the area. Food is always freshly made. We usually call in our order and pick up. They have good lunch specials everyday enough to satisfy a very hungry person! Extra Hot sauce is sold for 50cents.

Austin T.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I went to Mr. Hui's and enjoyed every aspect of the restaurant. The food is super tasty and accurate, the salted crispy chicken is super good and just the right amount of crunch. The sesame chicken has a good amount of sauce and the portions are fairly large, easily enough for a full meal of leftovers. The staff is super friendly and the food came out within ten minutes. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys Chinese, or people new to Lincoln.
google avatar

Meghan R.

Yelp
The best crab Rangoon I've ever had. Everything tasted great and fresh. Makes me sad for all the bad Chinese I've had in my life.
google avatar

Ally D.

Yelp
Doesn't look like much when you drive by, but this place was very yummy. Got the sesame chicken and white rice along with the crab Rangoons and had to take my left overs home, luckily tho the leftovers were JUST AS GOOD. Great place and sort of a hidden gem in my opinion.
google avatar

Nicole C.

Yelp
Best Chinese food and restaurant we have been to! The crab rangoons were the best! Food was delicious and service was good. We will be back when we're in Lincoln!
google avatar

Gage G.

Yelp
Gotta come back and give this place a second shot. I'm betting this place has some real killers on their menu but if you're not used to duck DONT order it. That was my mistake. Steamed shrimp dumplings were wonderful. Outside of that it's a very stereotypically Asian restaurant. No waiter will refill your drink or speak to you unless it's necessary. Edit: I'm back here on day two and holy cow, those crab rangoon gave me an extra reason to live. I could eat just those for a few days and be totally satisfied. Unfortunately my review stays the same because of the entree and service. Maybe I ordered another dud of a dish (Singapore rice noodle) but I'm not gonna bother ordering another. I'll just stick to their butt-kickin appetizers.
google avatar

Violette W.

Yelp
In the middle of our cross country road trip, my friend and I found a taste of home in the middle of Lincoln, Nebraska. This place is a gem of a mom and pop shop. Great food, great portions, and great prices. We're Chinese Americans from California, and this restaurant has our seal of approval! P.S. The young gentleman who served us was a cutie. He also wished us well on our trip.

Jessica M.

Yelp
I ordered the seafood delight, but I think they threw in some intestines that I didn't order. Not a fan now.
google avatar

Edwin M.

Yelp
I Yelp this restaurant today and it's a small restaurant with a real good staff. I had the shrimp dumplings and let me tell you to those have never made them it's not easy. I had shrimp dumplings in Saipan, Mariana Islands about two years ago. These were delicious and took me to Saipan briefly. The fried rice combo was delicious too. I will be back for more of those shrimp dumplings, if you're in the neighborhood I highly recommend stopping by. Pleasant travels enjoy.
google avatar

Adam S.

Yelp
Pass up the chains and eat local! Classic hole in the wall kind of place. I had the Singapore re Noodles, really good flavor and not too spicy to still really enjoy. I was in town for the weekend and was craving noodles. Totally hit the spot. If I'm back in Lincoln I'll look to return.
google avatar

Robert H.

Yelp
Okay food, but not the best Chinese place in Lincoln. Did not like Crab Rangoon ... was very greasy and fried in oil that seemed old. Lunch special was okay, but not worth the price.
google avatar

Ahmed B.

Yelp
Being away from downtown, I don't know about this place. A friend of mine told me about this place and said I should try it and let you know. So we got two dishes, KUNG POA BEEF AND KUNG POA CHICKEN. I liked the beef more because it's richer in taste. I heard the the SALTED CRISPY CHICKEN is good too. Overall it was good and authentic Chinese I guess. The portion was very decent so it will fill you up. The only thing that I don't like is the food being too oily, some like that but not me. You should give it a try guys Enjoy !!!
google avatar

Jim G.

Yelp
This is a small, strip center restaurant, maybe three tables and five booths. Not a great first impression. It's more of a lunch crowd place, not a dine-in kind of restaurant you go for the atmosphere. We were there for lunch, the only ones in the place. Our waitress didn't write down our order and it came out wrong. Not only wrong, but one of our dinners was cold, and it had to be sent back to reheat. The first waitress was friendly and cordial, the second waitress was not friendly and didn't seem to care about our dining experience at all. The food overall was just average Chinese. Pretty much the standard Chinese menu you'll find at any typical Chinese food place.
google avatar

Kathy D.

Yelp
The food here is really good and the staff are friendly! I come here with my brother often for lunch and for the price you get SO much food that can easily be shared among 2 people, It is tucked away but very easy to find, the food came out quick, no frills at this place. Definitely would come here again.

Molly A.

Yelp
I have only ordered delivery, but they always give me very generous portions, and it's always delicious! They even left me a note on my last delivery, I thought it was really sweet.

Tammy S.

Yelp
Amazing service and food. Quick delivery. Very tasty. Polite . Lighting nice In restaurant.

Yelp
I've been coming to Lincoln every 4th of July for the past 15 or so years. Being from the Chicago area, I am always amazed at the great restaurants we find. This was not one of them. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing, but Mr.Huis crazy spicy chicken sounded good. A better title for the dish would be hot and spicy chicken bones, because that's what I got. It looked like any other dish except as soon as you tasted it you realize it's full of bones. Almost inedible. Like a minefield in every bite. So disappointing because the flavor was pretty good and it was very hot. The pot stickers were okay and the shrimp and pineapple was not good. The shrimp were overcooked and the pineapples were dry and not at all juicy. Well we are a long way from China. There are already plenty of pictures on yelp, and honestly since I was hungry I didn't wait to take a picture. My recommendation, seriously, if you have had Chinese good in NY, Toronto San Francisco or even Chicago, you will not like the Chinese food in Lincoln Nebraska. Too many good choices to waste your time on this food ; (. Finally I should point out this was delivered by grub hub so I can not comment on the staff or the restaurant itself. I am sure they are all very nice people. One of my sister in law's really liked this place. The other will never go back.

Peyton M.

Yelp
10/10. Best Chinese food I've ever had. I got the orange chicken and crab Rangoon. It was amazing
google avatar

Brenda W.

Yelp
Not impressed at all with this food. I had a delivery last night. I had to purchase at least $25 worth of food. Ordered fried rice, which was $1 extra, but received white rice. Ordered cashew chicken, had 6 cashews in the entire meal. I will say it was delivered quickly, but again, I will not order from here again. The food was bland and not worth a good review.

Yelp
Came on a Monday night- day after New Years to grab a bite with my fam. We are from the Bay Area and find it difficult to get real authentic Chinese food when we come to visit family in Lincoln so this is the best we've found so far! We ordered: Hot and sour soup- enough to share with 4 adults had a nice little kick. Great taste Orange chicken- nice portion but a bit on the sweet side Green beans - I added mushrooms, the beans were crisp and flavorful. Beef and broccoli- broccoli was fresh but the beef felt a little chewy Dumplings - these were ok- came out last so I didn't really have room to eat them anymore Overall- Staff was friendly and food was prepared quickly. Lots of options and portions are large. We are used to ordering family style with multiple dishes and it seems like most people there were ordering one dish as a personal dish instead of sharing.

Yelp
This place is one of best chinese restaurants in Lincoln. I got Taiwanese salty fried chicken with fried rice and beef spicy noodle, all of them were so amazing and very affordable. Of course, I will come back here when I visit Nebraska. They also have lunch menu and dinner option for dining customers.
