11/10 this is probably my new favorite restaurant, huge portions for only $20. Food was served hot and fresh. The inside was clean and the staff was very helpful, friendly and respectful. If you haven’t been here before please give it a try, you won’t regret it.

Natalie

Google
Portions are good. The sweet and sour pork and almond chicken would have been much better with double the sauce/gravy. It was kinda dry. The pork fried rice and special chow mein is good.

R H

Google
“Super family meal” has chow mein, fried rice, generals chicken, almond chicken, crab rangoons, an egg roll, & cup of egg flower soup. One of my kiddos favourite dinner places

Zachery Scarmack

Google
I just tried this place first the first time today, and I was definitely impressed. The service was informative and kind, and the food that followed was just as wonderful. I got the Special Chow Mien, and I had to get another one for later. Thank you for the wonderful experience. I WILL be returning for more.

Zach Ryan

Google
Watch out for Chow Mein (w/ hard noodles). Not what you think when you order chow mein. Strangle gelatinous onion gloop with crunchy "noodles" on the side. Pricing is fair, and staff is nice.

Joleen Brus

Google
The food tastes ok at best. Someone needs to explain where your entry goes in a to-go container. $60.00 + for 3 pieces of chicken?!? And it's take out only. No mention of it on website.

Pamela Schmitz

Google
If I could give them no stars I would! The pic is supposed to be 2 family meals…. $40+ worth of food. How big of a family does this feed?! Included 2 soups…. So disappointed! I also ordered potstickers for my boys, usually when I order elsewhere the potstickers have meat…. These were filled with cabbage and onion….. definitely do NOT recommend and will never order from this establishment again!

Google
Wonderful place for Chinese food near the North Division "Y". The owner has been putting out delicious meals for 28 years now and it shows. We did the "build your own" meal, choosing what menu items and how many you wanted to make your plate. I did the choose four and had more food than I could eat, thus the need for a take-out container. You won't leave hungry and the choices are many. Great value for your money too! There is even the option if you pay in cash, you enjoy a 5% discount in the final price of your meal! They still do take credit cards too. Beer and wine are available too. Two of my friends who are lifetime Spokanites recommended Mr. Wok and they were right! Give them a try and you will be pleased.

Yelp
Still 5 Stars... This is our second visit during covid-19 so take out only... Did the create your own combos tonight so reasonable and exactly what we wanted. Last order I did was in person and waited (not long)... But this time I called in my order leaving work and ready when I got there. It was really nice to hear the phone ring and customers waiting for take out... Great service... Great food... Can't ask for much more.

Yelp
*sigh* I've waffling between two certainties about "Chinese-American cuisine" here in Spokane, and it's this: Either Spokanites don't know what Chinese-American food is, or they do know what it is and don't like it. What they attempt to pass off as "cuisine" here is not Chinese-American. It's like the cooks at all the major Chinese American food stops here in Spokane took the same community education class about what the staples are. They use the same thick and opaque gravy base for everything they use the same battering technique. they mistake msg or soy sauce for seasoning rather than an accent. They skimp on the meat and apparently have never heard of ginger, garlic, or a vegetable. This is what happens when the AA/PI population is less than what 1% in a town. Sad.

Yelp
This restaurant has been here forever for good reason and in my experience has always been consistently great. Recently, I got egg rolls, crab Rangoon, almond chicken, general tso's chicken, pork fried rice, egg drop soup, and chow mein. Service was friendly and I'll be back soon.

Yelp
The Spicy Tofu with Pork (Mapo Tofu) is Asian comfort food at its best. The savory sauce infused soft tofu melts in your mouth, sending me into a world of total bliss. I usually order this at 3 to 4 stars. And the steamed Potstickers are the best in the Inland Empire! If all you order from a Chinese restaurant is Chow Mein and Sweet & Sour, then you're totally missing out on the best dishes.

Yelp
This company Will get a 2star rating from me only because the customer service was great .. now the food was not good at all I would not recommend eating here .. if this was my choice over McDonald which in this case it was I will choose McDonalds next time. If you like boxed Chinese food then this is the place for you..

Jaci Z.

Yelp
This place does takeout only. I stop and pick something up every time I'm in town and they are open.

Yelp
Even though Mr. Wok has been serving Spokane for a good 28 years it was my first time visiting .. and for a very small meal. The meal was a vegetable lo mein noodles .. and for the first time ever, in a Thai restaurant, whatever I asked was fulfilled .. No fish sauce, no oyster sauce and as less sweet as possible .. well everything was as I asked .. not less not more .. Spice 7 of 10 .. I would have gone with a 6 but 7 was good for the day. The noodles were absolutely spot on .. just as I would have imagined eating .. one more visit with the same experience will fetch them a 5 star review, for sure.

Yelp
Is this place even open? I called several times when their website shows they are open but NO answer. What kind of customer service is that?

Erin S.

Yelp
Quality of food has really gone down and I thought it was overpriced for what we ordered.

Yelp
Stopped by last night for a pick up order I had phoned in. Me & 3 other people walked in about the same time, told them my name & kind of waited off to the side. I noticed this guy who walked in was waving his cell phone around trying to get the attention of the people working the counter as they got other people who were there 1st taken care of. Finally they asked him "are you delivery?" Turns out he was a door dash driver & was in a rush & the order he was there for wasn't ready yet. He was being a jerk to the owner so I kinda of just cut in front of him to cash out my order. He left & she apologized for being frazzled. She handled it super professionally & I felt bad for her & I hope anyone that's ever brought me food on behalf of one of these delivery companies never treats a restaurant worker like that. The food was really good, I tried the seasoned noodles for the 1st time ever & if you've read any of my previous reviews you know I'm picky, these have no veggies or meat in them, just plain noodles!

Yelp
Definitely the worst Chinese food I have ever eaten it's all out of a box and fried and served, very bland no effort put into cooking and costing over 40 dollars for two meals that we can't even eat cause it's disgusting.
google avatar

Sara S.

Yelp
Best Chinese food in Spokane! They have been here for a long time and for good reason. No frills, tasty, good prices.

Lisa C.

Yelp
Only Chinese I'll eat in Spokane. The food is amazing and the owners are great! Been going here for over 20 years.

Novacane v.

Yelp
Food is extremely bland and the chicken taste freezer burnt. Low low low quality beef no vegetables or eggs in the fried rice it taste like rice with soy sauce and a few pieces of pork food was fresh but not good.
google avatar

Pattie P.

Yelp
Delicious!! Made upon order. Beef lo mein is really good and huge portions! I'll definitely go back.
google avatar

Kendall S.

Yelp
We were recommended this place by a Spokane food instagram. We trusted the opinion and went for it. we got our food and left without looking at it. We got home and opened the box and can you guess where it went?? Straight into the garbage. The breading on the sweet n sour chicken completely fell off. The veggies and chicken had zero flavor and a weirdly thick sauce and the fried rice was just rice with pork in it. You're honestly better off eating Panda Express.
google avatar

Jenifer K.

Yelp
This is the WORST Chinese food I've ever had! So greasy and nasty tasting. Everything was soaked in grease. No flavor. The fried prawns were still cold. The chicken was rock hard. The pork if you could call it that was under done and way pink still. The noodles were dry and unflavored & the shrimp and veggies were rubbery. Oh the Almond Chicken was chicken gravy and deep fried grease soaked hard chicken pieces. The pork fried rice was dry, bland, had pieces of the wok & someone else's food in it. Also tasted like it was a day old. Like its sat out. And no I'm not overreacting, as you can see by the pictures. I love Chinese food and this was far the worst place to eat. I called the owner to complain and get at least a little refund since we literally threw $45 in the trash, and well I was hung up on twice by him, also told that the customer is wrong always, even though he has been in business for 30 years. I had to take it up with my bank to get a refund, and then find something else for dinner! I have never had such bad customer service, food and service!! I definitely WILL NOT be going back(this was my 1st & only time there) and I WILL NOT be recommending this place. Now I understand why they had no one there eating. Well I better end this review per the bathroom is calling me yet again! (And I only could stomach a bite of each thing just to see if i could eat anything!)

Yelp
This place has really grown on me. They have some of the best hot and sour soup in town. Im also not sure how they make those baby egg rolls but they are SO good. I know they're solely take out but the food is worth picking up and taking home. My order is always complete and correct.

Van K.

Yelp
Stopped by this fast food Chinese, really Americanized take out eatery , first time in three years, so hoping it was better than I rememberWRONG and WRONG AGAIN.......I only ordered the Won ton soup as it's my favorite and I always get it every time I go for Chinese food. Most places, it's so so but satisfying, the best place in town is on Division and Indiana but was in hurry this day...?...bad choice....Soup was trash warmed up in my estimation. People claim this place has good food but I beg to differ....one star given is what is deserved, maybe other things here ok, but based on their soup, that I sent to garbage disposal. I will spend the extra ten minutes to drive south and pay a few dollars more and get quality food from Harbour Hse, where at least they know how to COOK CHINESE.

Nico T.

Yelp
I am laughing right now because I feel SO crazy. I am 90% sure that the "sweet and sour" sauce (The bright red one you can see in the pictures) is just straight up strawberry jam. I don't know if maybe the jam is one ingredient of the sauce, and whoever was serving just poured the jam before mixing anything else in or what. But the jam combined with the airy, batter-y 'pork' really has me feeling like I'm eating funnel cake. If this is a prank, it's absolutely hilarious! I'm actually crying because I can't believe this is real. The almond chicken is also bad, but the fried rice is pretty great! I got the kung pao trio (? i forget what it's called) and it's pretty damn good for a chinese takeout. Not overly greasy or salty, and the beef and shrimp are so tender and perfectly cooked, not dry or chewy like lots of other places can be. If I hadn't ordered the combo with the "sweet and sour" pork and almond chicken, I'd give this place 5 stars. I don't understand how these menu items came from the same place

Joy H.

Yelp
I had the combo. The pork fried rice was dry and no flavor. Almond chicken- was tough. Special chow mein was just so so. I wouldn't reorder it. The best thing I had was crab Rangoon. That I would reorder. The kung pao was 3 stars, the vegees were fresh and cooked okay.

Tatyana S.

Yelp
Best Chicken Fried Rice in Spokane! Rice is perfectly cooked. Single order is enough to feed two people generously. We add bean sprouts and 2 extra eggs to our order. We live in the Valley and drive all the way out to Mr Wok just for the fried rice. 5/5!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Best kept secret on North side of Spokane. Been open 27 years Was open today on Memorial Day 9/4/17 , while a few place we looked to first were closed
google avatar

Brittany T.

Yelp
Great service and yummy food! I spoke with Melissa when ordering takeout over the phone. She was very helpful and took the time to answer my questions. Food was hot and fresh!! Will definitely be going back! Thank you!
google avatar

Allen H.

Yelp
ALWAYS GREAT FOOD, VERY REASONABLE PRICES AND EXCELLENT SERVICE The family owns and runs the business and are always cheerful and helpful. Every item I have ordered has been great and the portions are plentiful.
google avatar

Hayden K.

Yelp
This has been my favorite Chinese restaurant for years! Their almond chicken and pork fried rice hits the spot for all Chinese cravings! Every time I go in, we are treated with the best service. Strongly recommend supporting this amazing family ran restaurant!!
google avatar

Russ J.

Yelp
Ordered the 3 course combo. Decent food for a good price. Veggies could be chopped smaller, but were cooked perfectly. Overheard other customers complimenting the staff on how good their meal was. Clean place with friendly employees. They've also added a Chicago Beef Co to their business- strange combo, but it just might work. I will go back again.

Michelle K.

Yelp
Very mediocre, almost zero taste. Husband had vegetable pieces in his that were GIANT. Really unimpressed. The egg drop was DELICIOUS, but unfortunately everything else wasn't. We looked at eachother and rated it a 3/10 at the same exact time. Sucks because I really wanted to like it!!
google avatar

Louie B.

Yelp
Went to Mr Woks on Newport Hwy today for the first time. I've lived here the whole time they have been in business nearly 30 years now. Never went in before because I thought it to be a fast food joint- wrong. We had a almond chicken, crab ragoon, special chow mein and pork fried rice combo. IMHO, hands down the best I've had anywhere and large portions, great friendly staff. Cant wait till the next time..
google avatar

Justin B.

Yelp
The delivery came on time but it seemed a bit expensive for the level of quality. The pork egg rolls were actually pretty good but the shrimp tempura was way over breaded and logged with grease and the hot and sour soup tasted good but was coagulated and separated which was a bit off putting. Prolly won't order from here again.
google avatar

Carrie A.

Yelp
Everything tastes very good and the owners are wonderfil! The egg drop soup is made fresh daily as are everything else. Almond chicken still my favorite here. And the lunch specials are a perfect chance to taste new things.
google avatar

Carol D.

Yelp
We have been going to this place since our kid we're 12 yrs old they are now in their 30's. They moved & always comeback to eat here.
google avatar

Ellen H.

Yelp
Really friendly, but the food is terrible.....old grease, thick gel substance....horrible

otto p.

Yelp
Mr Wok is a takeout place. Yes they have tables, but ordering is done at the counter and there is no waitservice. We ordered 3 items, and were told that since everything is handmade to order, there would be a wait. The wait was not too long. Now, to the food. First, we had steamed potstickers. 8 pieces for 9 bucks, and they were clearly just frozen, out of a bag grocery store potstickers. No flavor, meh. Shrimp Lo Mein, my go to. 13 bucks, for Lo Mein that has celery, carrots and regular cabbage rather than any asian vegetable is lame. tasted ok. Orange Chicken, my son's go to. He took 2 bites and wouldn't go further. The "chicken" bites were 80% dough and tasteless, the sauce was over-sweet, like marmalade. I've never known him to turn to orange chicken before, so this was a first. The portions were big, so I won't give a one-star review in case we just ordered things they aren't good at, but for the price, almost 40 bucks for an app and 2 entrees of basic chinese take-out, I expected much, much better.
google avatar

Richard W. T.

Yelp
This is favorite place to go for Chinese food of both me and my family. The food is incredible and the care that staff puts in to the food and service is incredible. It is a definite place that and your family will want to try.

Debbie W.

Yelp
very very fresh food! not mushy and reheated. love this place. the larger family meal feeds my husband and me! I highly recommend
google avatar

Emilee C.

Yelp
Loved this place. We almost didn't come because of the few negative reviews, but I'm glad we did. I'd been wanting a good Chinese place in Spokane since moving here, and I've found one. We tried the chicken lo mein & sweet and sour pork with baby egg rolls (comes with 3). Everything was delicious. The noodles had great flavor, and they were very good about leaving the onions out for me. The sweet and sour sauce was perfect. It's exactly what you'd expect for the classic flavor. I will definitely be back.
google avatar

Ken M.

Yelp
Wow, I am disappointed. Not as good as I remembered. There fried shrimp was over battered and greasy and the egg roll was mushy with a not so pleasant taste. My Kung poa chicken was ok and really like the fresh veggies in it. Service like I remember was friendly and quick. I just wish it was better.
google avatar

Yelp
If you find yourself on the long strip of blight called North Division in traffic for thirty minutes, chances are you are going to get hungry. Why not just pull over, plunk down some cash, and encourage them to extend North Division even further towards Chewelah. Lately, I have found myself stuck in this vast no man's land with a craving for food. There is a plethora of fast food chains along the never ending strip of consumerism. I decided to take a break from my habitual burger chain grub, and wandered into Mr. Wok. Mr. Wok is quiet, clean, and quick. I have been the only customer sitting in the dining area on several occasions. It's relaxing. The place is clean. In contrast to a few eateries in the area, the floor doesn't have any crumbs, soda spills, or open ketchup packets littered around. The chairs aren't bolted down to the floor. It's kinda civilized. The food is delivered quickly. Mr. Wok seems to thrive on takeout orders. As a result, dining room guests will receive their combo plates in no time. The food is served on a real plate! Civilization! Overall, if you need a quick, clean, and civilized meal after a long 45 minute drive through traffic, Mr. Wok ain't too bad.
google avatar

Ken F.

Yelp
Let's give credit where due. Decent take out. Among many tries, tonight I had the Mr. Wok Lo Mein and Orange chicken. Both came home tender and flavorful. The other times didn't disappoint either. Good folks serve up some decent Chinese. The won-tons are really good steamed. One of my regular joints.
google avatar

Noel P.

Yelp
Hands down the worst Chinese food I've ever had in my life. There was no flavor to my meal, it just tasted like white cream over badly sliced vegetables. Options were very limited, and I felt sick after eating my meal. Prices are decent for lunch, but the taste is nowhere near worth it. I wouldn't go back if the meal was free.
google avatar

MJ F.

Yelp
This was a comfortable, cozy and friendly place for dinner. The waitress was beyond helpful and accommodating, the layout is open and easy to navigate and the prices are great! The food was decent- what you'd expect for Chinese takeout but that's exactly what I was craving. They conveniently gave me a few take home menus so I can order next time and have it delivered. I'll definitely come back here with friends again!
google avatar

James G.

Yelp
Don't go here if you're familiar with good Chinese food. However, if you are a fan of Panda Express then that's the quality you'll get here in large portions. We ordered two combinations meals for dinner. The portions were large. The sauces were thick and lacked any refinement. The food was served fast food style from a counter. So far, the only chinese in Spokane that rates above average is Gordy's. I give these guys 2 stars rather than one because the staff were friendly and helpful.
google avatar

Corbin M.

Yelp
I'm rating this place a 1 Star not because of the service or the price or the place, but the food. When I got there to pick it up the building was nice and clean and I was greeted by a nice elderly lady and handed me my food and was nice. When I got home I opened up the box and was greeted by so much good looking food but I wasn't greeted by the taste or texture of the food. The chow mien noodles and to dry and made me thirsty really easily, the rice was okay and the only thing that was good. The orange chicken had enough sauce bought the more I chewed into the chicken the more harder it got to chewed to the point where I had to spit it out. I got another type of chicken that was way to cooked and impossible to chew. The egg roll wasn't that great either, kinda just tasted like plastic, the order came down to $14 and for the price is worth it... if your homeless, 1/10 unfortunately probably won't be coming back here.
google avatar

Pauline B.

Yelp
Yummy yummy the best place around I love it here food is fresh n plenty n great prices n the owners are amazing

Kenadie M.

Yelp
I am very disappointed in my meal tonight. It was our 3 year anniversary and we wanted to go yummy but affordable. We chose mr. Wok for the first time. We got our food and presentation was amazing. Food quantity was amazing. The moment we put it in our mouths it screamed neglect. The noodles were flavorless and dry. The meat was beyond disgusting and I am not even overreacting. It was hard as a rock and almost looked overdone or as if it had been sitting out for hours on end. The rice was good, fortune cookie was good, egg rolls and wontons were good. However, they failed in the main course which is most important! Don't order this place unless you want to get cheap poorly made food. I would post a picture but my food is already in the trash.

Yelp
I went here for lunch with my husband. We're new in town, & I marvel at some of the combination restaurants, like KFC/Long John Silvers, or in this case, Mr. Wok/Vienna Beef Co. Who would have thought that chinese and hot dogs would be a successful restaurant combo? I ordered the pork noodle soup for $7.25, & my husband ordered the daily special, which was chicken lo mein, almond fried chicken, fried rice, egg roll, & egg flower soup all for $7.99. The attentive waitress brought the food out very quickly, and kept our water cups filled - much appreciated on such a hot day. My soup had mushrooms, bamboo shoots, water chestnuts, carrots, green onions, & cabbage in addition to the pork & noodles. The broth was weak, but some soy sauce improved it. I tried my husband's egg flower soup - I thought it was seasoned perfectly; he thought it was too salty. All the food is made fresh to order. We enjoyed it enough that we took a delivery menu, although my one complaint is that the food items aren't really described on the menu so the vegetables are kind of a surprise.
google avatar

Chandler B.

Yelp
Our go-to Chinese take out. Seems like this place is somewhat we lighter than other Chinese food. Recommend their BBQ pork. Everything is made fresh to order.

Jason P.

Yelp
Been meaning to try this place for awhile and now I'm sad I waited so long. Such friendly staff and great food. We have been ordering at least once a week during the stay at home order and the consistency is great.
