"This restaurant comes from the team behind Mandolin, a restaurant we really like. And we like Mr. Mandolin for many of the same reasons, mainly the very tasty Greek food. The restaurant is inside MiMo’s Vagabond hotel and has a menu of gyros, kebabs, pies, dips, salads, and sides like rice pilaf and some very crispy fries. There’s a little overlap with the original Mandolin menu, but Mr. Mandolin’s menu is mostly original and has plenty of stuff you can’t get at their sister restaurant—like swordfish kebabs and a warm tahini bun (pictured here) that deserves its own theme song." - ryan pfeffer
"Lamb & Beef Pita Mr. Mandolin, a restaurant from the Mandolin team, happens to be dangerously close to my living room. And so it’s one of those places I hit up on a regular basis. This week, I was reminded of just how good their lamb and beef pita is. It’s simple, tasty, and they’ll even shove some french fries in there for you. "Get the taste of Mandolin, the mainstay Miami Design District Aegan restaurant, without the months-long wait for a table at it’s ‘brother’ restaurant, Mr. Mandolin. Housed just a few blocks away inside the Vagabond Hotel, guests can get gyros, kebabs, and dips to-go, or opt for the Feast that includes a portion of all four shaved meats on the menu, a container of each dip, grilled pita, Greek salad, rice pilaf, fries, roasted vegetables, shistito peppers, and some homemade desserts. "I don’t think anything could have made me happier than Mr. Mandolin moving into my neighborhood. Like, not even Dwayne Wade moving into the apartment next door. I just love having this place within walking distance, because on those nights when dinner indecision reaches its peak and I’m ready to fight my refrigerator, I take a deep breath and say, “Why don’t I just order Mr. Mandolin?” It’s always a good decision, and also gives me an excuse to eat their warm tahini bun, which is one of the greatest baked things in Miami." - ryan pfeffer
