Been needing to stop in here and found myself here tonight. Good decision, Food was what I wanted. Hot Cornbread Muffins w/butter arrived at the table when I sat down. I ordered Short Ribs that were served on white rice & gravy, sides were Black Eyed Peas, Collard Greens, and Mac & Cheese. Everything was delicious and I enjoyed every bite. They had a variety of desserts, but I couldn't pass up the Peach Cobbler. Sweet just how I like it. Will return to check out more of the menu. Server was a wonderful host.

The service was good, but this is not the soul food I’m familiar with. I ordered Turkey Legs, expected it to come with Gravy, Blackeyed Peas salty and Greens tasted spoiled, dressing was good. Hubby had Red Beans no good, Red Snapper was good, potatoe salad was descent. Gravy they made is lumpy and very pale in color. The lemonade is a very sweet drink no lemon taste at all! We just wasted our money and left not satisfied for sure. Environment is very dry and boring, no music playing. On a good note, it’s very clean!

My first time trying this place and no ma’am no sir!! I’m extremely disappointed! My fish was under cooked, yams tasted too plain no spice no butter sugar nothing, the mac & cheese was just terrible too oily no flavor at all and definitely lacking CHEESE! The greens were ok could use more seasoning and the corn bread muffins were good but lacking salt and/or butter. I wouldn’t order here again I think The Soul Food Shack Inglewood is way better and Roscoes as well. This place needs serious work sorry not the best in town at all

I wanted to try a new place to eat Soul Food, so I came here with the expectations that this was an M and M affiliate. Soul food is cooked from the soul with care and compassion for those whom you are serving. I ordered the smothered chicken, blackeyed peas, potato salad and greens. Unfortunately I was served fried chicken with some brown gravy covering it, the blackeyed peas resembled some brown candied yams and the greens tasted unfamiliar to me. I changed my order to the smothered turkey wings. I got a partial fried turkey wing with some tan gravy covering it, at this point I was done. I paid for my meal and left. It was a disappointing adventure, but the indicator was the lack of customers. I drove to Dulans and waited in that long line for some Soul Food. Sorry this is not the place.

Me and my family just left this place and it was amazing. We didn’t even make it to the door before we were greeted by our server. She was very sweet and timely even though she expressed she was new to serving but worked there a while. Now the food was top tier soul food. Every bite was better then the last and I used 0 sauces for my Turkey chops. Didn’t need it! Turning to the ambiance, it was great to look at the history around the room from celebrities to activists. Random; the bathroom is amazing I love the details stayed in there longer just looking around. Thank you so much for a amazing experience. I never felt so at home. Until next time ❤️

The food was really good. You can tell they cook it fresh and homestyle. The waitress was really nice as well as the greeter. We ordered the catfish plate with collard greens and mac and cheese and the short ribs and collard greens. Both meals came with warm sweet cornbread and boy was it good.The fish was well seasoned and the mac and cheese was delicious and we typically dont like restaurants mac and cheese. Also we had candied yams which were also delicious and not from the can. The short ribs fell off the bone and was also well seasoned. The collard greens were very good as well. The only thing I didnt like was I was not able to tip the waiter with my bill. They had a sign at the cash register that it was cash only to tip the waiter but they didnt have an atm and honestly who keeps cash on hand nowadays days. Overall great experience and great food. Will definitely go back again but will make sure I have some cash to tip the waiter.

GREAT PLACE FOR GOOD OL FASHION SOUL FOOD.. my cousin and I went I got a 4pc wing meal and he got smothered ribs with and lemonade and kool-aid (YES I SAID KOOL-AID ((RED)) ) bill split between us two was ONLY $25/Person. VERY AFFORDABLE given the quality and portions of their food. This place is a MUST EVERYTIME I go to LA

Popped into this place randomly for lunch after a google for food near me. The family who runs the restaurant all works there and we were greeted sweetly on the way in and out. The fried chicken was GREAT. Seved hot, crispy, and flavorful. Sweet yams and savory Mac. Great tasting greens. All around a great service and great meal.

Worse food I have ever had in my life. Not even sure how this place stays in business. Every single thing I bought was disgusting. I wouldn't go back if the food were free!! Please don't waste your time and money. I hate to be so harsh but that's literally how horrible it was.

Been driving by for years and finally on a day they were open so I decided to stop in, ordered the lunch special hot links, red beans and greens, came with corn bread. At almost $18 before tip it was overpriced for what I got, the hot link was over cooked and very dry. Beans and greens were ok but bland, corn bread was good but a meal can't stand on the corn bread alone, staff was friendly and attentive. A return visit is very unlikely.

We asked about where we should go & several people said M&M's. It's such a cute little spot. It also has outside seating. The outside seating has lights and it could make for a cute date night. The liver & onions were so tender, you barely needed the knife. Good thing because the plastic ware was really flimsy. That is the only reason I am giving this 4 stars. How can you have flimsy plastic ware with soul food lol - oh and the cornbread was dry. I would have preferred a slice of white bread. But the FOOD ... incredible. The short ribs so tender & delicious & it had a little heat. The yams were just the right amount of sweet. Stop by ... it's right off the interstate!

Their food is so good! Only thing is ...if you order the fish: you might want to say (LIGHTLY SALTED)! But it is fried to perfection. The chicken wings are delicious. And my daughter loved the ox tails! Perfect place for repast or family gathering on their patio...it is massive!

Home cooking at its best! Friendly service and good food! It is sometimes a wait so call ahead.

This place is fenomenal! Both my husband and I order their barbecue ribs, red beans, collard greens, black eyed peas, and candied yams. We received a lot of food and two corn bread biscuits each. We also each ordered a sweet tea. We immediately asked for a box and divided our meals in half. The rib meat was so tender that it fell off of the bones. This meal was excellent and our left overs lasted for another two meals. It was sooo delicious. Service was wonderful as well. I'll We will definitely be back.

I just left m&m and bought an oxtail plate This is the flavor less food I've ever Botton I spent $27 and I would not feed this food to my dog. There's no amount of hot sauce that could possibly make this food taste good please do not waste your time and I'm so sorry to say this because I tried to Patronize all my black businesses but this one they need a new cook

I stopped by there once day after work last week. This was my second time there. The first time the wife and I wanted smothered pork chops and they were out of pork chops. So I decided to give them a try last week. I don't believe the oxtails were oxtails. It looked like pork. I think they were pork neck bones. The greens, cornbread and black eye peas were good. My wife enjoyed her smothered pork chops. The oxtails/neck bones were NOT seasoned. I added gravy but the gray was bland. The man that took my order was friendly and very helpful. When I got home and called the store about the oxtails he stated he would call me back. He did talk to the chef and called me back the next day. The are not sure what happened with my oxtails. I cook oxtails so I know what they should taste like. Also the meat was white. Beef is NOT white. I am going to give them one more try. I hope the third time is a charm.

Great food! Loved the mac, cornbread and chicken! One of their signature drinks, the Obama, was delicious. Sweet, but yummy! Honorable mentions that just added to the experience: Louisiana hot sauce on the table, all the good cookout music playing in the back and friendly service!

My 1 day out the week to cheat and I decided on this. Who in their right frame of mind would sell this to a customer? Aside from the darkened look, horrible, weird taste and spoiled-like smell, it's horrible! Straight to the trash it went. They should be ashamed running an establishment with this crap. Unbelievable!

Ordered dessert via Uber Eats. The lemon cake, while I can't prove it, looks and tastes just like those ring cakes you get at Walmart, Vons, etc. It has, what looks like, that factory made streusel on top. There's nothing about it that makes me think it's home made. The peach cobbler had a good amount of crispy crunch on it. But it's cold? Not cold from the Uber drive from the restaurant to my house .. but cold like, it arrived even colder than room temp. The banana pudding is the worst I've had. It had almost a bitter taste as if it had too much banana extract. & I loooove banana pudding!! Theirs is nilla wafer forward .. more cookie than pudding, which I know some people like (not me). And I had one slice of banana for the whole portion. I hope their savory food is lovely cause most of the pictures look really good. But as for dessert, I'll pass.

My chicken was bloody, and still raw and the vegetables were cold. Customer service was horrible.

This place has the best turkey chops. I love this restaurant. The good taste like home. Great black soul food place to eat. Gives big potions and the parking is great.

Who's hair is this???...Which employee/s isn't wearing a hair net???...I ordered (2/3/2022) a turkey wing dinner w/okra & corn, yams & mac and cheese...The mac & cheese had hair in it (strands of hair)... I'm pissed!!!...Never ever will i order from this establishment...

Good Soul Food Ya'll after the Rams Games CLOSE BY. YAY!!! I'm a fan of the pork chops with grilled onions! My BFF loves the catfish. Everything is fresh and well prepared. And the service is excellent.

I really wanted to like this place but didn't :( please let me preface by saying that this is my opinion and preferences. So I would say I didn't enjoy it, and maybe you might like it. Overall, I spent 23 bucks and I was really sad I didn't enjoy my meal. I was hoping to like something but didn't like any of it. I got fried chicken (dark meat), macaroni and cheese, collard greens, yams, sweet potato pie and cornbread. Fried chicken was quite dark in color. I'm assuming the oil may have been on the older side. (Parents used to own a restaurant, etc) the chicken was large which was kinda nice. The skin was crispy but it didn't seem too fresh which was a bummer. Macaroni and cheese was oddly coagulated. Meaning, there was a separation of cheese and pasta. It didn't taste like good quality cheese. I think if they used different cheeses it would be a lot better. Maybe more sharp cheddar cheese, gouda, and heck even velvetta would've been a game changer. Collard greens had this smoke liquid taste and was quite bitter with heavy accents of vinegar. It definitely was not what I was used to. I've had soul food in the southern states so this was interesting. Unfortunately not in a good way. Corn bread had a hard bottom. Not soft at all. I think the size of the cornbread may play into why it was so hard. Sweet potato pie underwhelmed me. Too much nutmeg and spices and it felt mushy and watery. The crust was mushy and the top pie crust disintegrated.

I called this restaurant to place an order and used Google GPS that took me to 4549 W Imperial Hwy, Inglewood, CA 90304 after 11 miles' drive. Since I couldn't find this restaurant when I arrived, I called them again and was told that they already relocated to 5960 Crenshaw Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90043 5 months ago which was another 6 miles drive. I was already very unhappy that this business did not update their address with Google/Yelp/Facebook and the fact that they refused to accept the certificate I just purchased from restaurant.com just made me extremely mad. If they don't accept this type of certificates, they should have canceled their account with restaurant.com. I expressed my frustration with the restaurant and requested them to just accept this one now that I had already wasted so much time and gas, but no, they firmly denied without a single apology for their failures to update their address with Google/Yelp/Facebook and remove their account on restaurant.com. I hence did not pick up my order to pay their mistakes after I already wasted my time and money on my gas. I have to say that this is the only restaurant that gives me the worst experience ever. I will never go back again.

The cool aid was the best out of everything. Chicken didn't have enough seasoning very bland, Mac&Cheese was bland just taste like oil and cheese the greens was seasoned a lot but not that good seasoned with herbs and spices, the yams so see- through like sheesh. Soul food post to talk to the soul each bite I should be doing a dance cause it taste so delicious. But here I couldn't do that.

I'm from the Bay Area . But every time I go to LA I definitely hit up this place to get my soul food fix. I've had the oxtails, fried chicken, turkey, wings, and all the sides and everything is amazing.

The food is always great and I server was great.!! My first time at this new location and it was bigger than the last. I ordered the backed chicken with yams, greens, and dressing. I wish they had white meat, but it was still tasty!!! I will come back to try the turkey chops :)

My BF and I tried this place while in town on a Sunday a little before noon (October 2021) There was no wait which was amazing considering how delicious the food ended up being and that it was a Sunday. The waitress was a sweetheart and checked on us regularly. We ordered the fried chicken and pork chops. You get to pick 3 sides which was more than enough food. It had been awhile since we had had soul food and this Definitely hit the spot! We will be returning here next time we're in town!

I came from Riverside, CA to the Charger game. I decided I would try soul food tonight, so I Google a soul food restaurant. I found this M&M soul food, decided I would give it a try, I check into my hotel, checked the restaurant website to see what time they close, of course it's says open till 9pm. I arrive at 6:30pm, I noticed no one was in the restaurant I chucked it up as maybe it's too early, so I'm excited to get some good ole fashion soul food. As soon as I walk in the young lady ask if I'm here for a pick up, I say No, I'm here for dinner, she says I'm sorry but we are closing at 7pm. It's a Friday night and they close at 7pm. I was so disappointed,I just turned around and walked out. I ended up eating at Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles. This restaurant should be on full for a Friday night. I will not be going back.

I usually love the food from here, but it was different today. I get that it's Mother's Day, but our food took 2 hours to come out of the kitchen. I felt like they cared more about the to go orders than the people actually sitting in the restaurant for a meal. Felt bad my mom had to sit for so long just to eat.

I travel fairly often and make it a point to check out soulfood joints around the country. I'm always hopeful that I find a gem. Didn't happen here and honestly food wise Cali is pretty bad across the board. I get to this spot about 4pm and it's empty except for 2 ladies at one table. I order the 2 chicken platter which comes with 2 sides and cornbread (I ordered an extra thigh). I got yams and Mac and cheese. About 15 minutes in the two ladies send something back. They then get up to leave. They said the bread was hard as a brick and they just weren't feeling it. Ok, I'm here so I'll see for myself. About 40 more minutes later I finally get my food. I check the bag and it's short a thigh. Instead of waiting another 55 minutes I get a refund for the 1 thigh. Get it back to the hotel. Chicken is huge, two pieces were more than enough. BUT, there was no flavor and it was extra dry. The thigh was so dry it tasted like a breast. The Mac n cheese was old and dry, completely worthless. The yams were ok but they seemed canned. The cornbread was overcooked and hard. I see why those ladies were concerned. Sucks but no way I'd return. If you're gonna make me wait damn near an hour for chicken and get the order wrong, food better be fire and it was legitimately bad. Hopefully it was a bad moment. Looked like they were getting delivery pick ups so somebody likes this shit. Pick your food game up LA!

So I had a firsts horrible experience here with the smothered porks chops dinner.... I decided to give this place a. Second try with the oxtails and rice, greens and yams...... Well..the picture captions speak for themselves.... UNBRAISED FATTY GUMMY TAILS.... GREENS FULL OF STEM'S AND BURNT MAC AND CHEESE....... NEVER GETTING MY MONEY EVER AGAIN..... MY 3 year old grandbaby knows better than this‼‼‼‼

Ideally, I would give this place zero stars but that is not an option.. llThis is the dry, tasteless and burned fried chicken that was served to me on 7/2/23. The gravy on the rice was tasteless and the cornbread was nasty. A complete waste of money. Unfortunately, it was a to go order and I was not in a situation to return it for a refund. A complete and total waste of money. The cook should be ashamed of sending this out for consumption. I will never eat here again.

We needed a soul food place in the neighborhood. What's up with the food lately. I didn't get covid my teast buds are on point. Their greens & yams has no flavor, Mac and cheese dry not enough cheese. For a white 3 piece. You get 4 wings. But the Coolaid is on point and the best corn bread. Will check back one more time before I shut down and never go again. We need this business to thrive in the neighborhood... Praying.

The BEST catfish ever!!! The collard greens are out of this world!!! I really needed this !!! Awesome staff super nice ladies. The food was beyond awesome!!!

M&M soul food has GOURMET Soul Food and it continues to maintain a tradition excellence. People come from all over the country to put their reputation to the test and they always leave with a smile. The atmosphere is a compliment to the food and the service that you receive there . Sometimes they even have a mature gentleman there playing atmosphere music for the diners. He's great! Thank you Miss "B" !!

I missed this place, came here back in 05 with my dad we fell in love! Then I got it again around 2016 it was still bomb. I saw reviews that almost changed my mine and I didn't want to go, but I went with my gut! I got the baked chicken with yams, collard greens and rice&gravy. Everything was delicious seasoned perfectly and the chicken fell off the bone! I was more then satisfied I will definitely be back it was right down the street from my hotel!

****If you like flavorful food, do not come here.*** So should've read the reviews first.‍ I ordered the smothered white meat with dressings yams and greens. Everything lacked seasoning, I don't understand who they're cooking for because it's not soul food lovers or Black people. They gave me three wings which is weird I wanted a breast and wing. But I would've been ok if it was good. Nothing is seasoned not the gravy the chicken itself, the dressing has no onions celery bell pepper nothing it's just mashed up cornbread covered in bland gravy, the yams taste like they just opened a can and the greens just wow no seasoning at all. The only thing that's good is the corn muffins and that's not ok. They also did a poor job of packaging the food- it leaked. I wouldn't order here again and I'd never recommend it to anyone. I miss Soulfood Renaissance in Long Beach. Dulans is also better than this. **and no business owner I won't return to spend my money on this unseasoned food again- and maybe you pay attention if people are saying the same things in fresh food no seasoning etc maybe you should fire your lousy cooks and update your recipes- I refuse to believe you come from the south! This is a Disgrace to real soul food.

No complaints. Prices were good,food and service was great and friendly as well as the atmosphere. Was there for a birthday party. Would definitely go back again when in town.

A little disappointing. The fried fish and oxtails were good but the sides weren't. Mac and cheese was cold and the peach cobbler that I got to go was cold. I couldn't eat it because it tasted burnt and was not very "peachy". Red Beans and Rice also tasted burned or too smoky. The older African-American woman who was there did not speak hello, or goodbye. The best thing was the waiter. He was polite and attentive to us and very helpful.

Never had the opportunity of trying the food Couple of red flags there was nobody in the place After ringing the bell to get attention, I was told that there was no more food and to come back next Sunday not even tomorrow, but Sunday ok... It was 8 o'clock on a Sunday close at 9 you should just close at 8 ...Never again Especially after driving 45 minutes

I was a super happy customer when I left with my carton containing a fried fish dinner!! Oh Happy Day - and ima do the Happy Dance after I lick the plate. The new location is a much needed eatery here in the South Bay. Ms. B's M&M's serves up soul food, just right!!! Yum Yum for the Tum Tum. When I got home I transferred the food to my favorite pretty plate - I wonder if I can bring my own plate next time. Hmmmm... Whether on your plate or theirs, you will just love whatever you order from their menu. Thank you to Mz. B & her talented team. Enjoy! - Teresa

July 31, 2021 Called in, ordered chicken dinner. Taken the dinner home and was extremely disappointed. Chicken was quickly cooked in dirty grease. Chicken pieces had black greasy specks all over them. Wings had dark blood like substance on the bones. I ate as much as I could. I chewed the chicken for the yummy taste but could not digest the chicken because the pieces wouldn't dissolve in my mouth. I felt like I was chewing cow crud. Wasted $. I tried to support our own, but come on, cook like you used too.

This southern girl was hungry for good food. This comfort food was good for the body and soul. Well worth it.. Seasoned well meat tender..

OMG the cook who made the chitlins they are amazing haven't had chitlins in a long time and I'm recommend you go and try the chitlins today was my first day and I love them thank you five stars

This has been the worst experience I've ever had with food!!! I ordered DoorDash. And not only did they mess up our order.. our food was burned and had this weird Taste as if it was from a dumpster ! Yea that bad . And I couldn't even get my refund after I spent $60 .not to forget my cornbread was hard as a rock! Literally I will post pictures and videos for proof ! Please don't waste your money

my wife & i are very disappointed. we were excited on trying this place out. when we got there, the staff were welcoming. however, once we got home.... blessed our food & begin to eat, the sides where great. i ordered smothered chicken & it was not done, still raw. ....we are saddened by this horrific experience. good luck if you plan on eating there

I ordered off of door dash,I got the short ribs,mac and cheese,black eye peas,rice and gravy, fried chicken (not shown)and peach cobbler(not shown).Mac and cheese was dry and burnt,although the black eye peas had a great flavor they weren't done all they way and some peas were still hard,the short ribs were okay rice and gravy as well, the fried chicken was dry(I had a breast) and the peach cobbler had too much nutmeg(in my opinion) I dont think I would revisit Update: I received a reply to the review I just made, that had absolutely nothing to do with me,there never was a complaint regarding utensils as stated above I ordered from door dash I never stepped a foot inside of the restaurant, so to say you tried to resolve a issue that was never presented and had no contact with me whatsoever is puzzling, second this being my first time trying food here how could I have said my meals have ALWAYS have been good? Third to make up a scenario to counter a bad review you received jus further proves why I know I'm not revisiting. Be Blessed.

Very pleased with my experience. Customer service was outstanding. We ordered pork chops and fried chicken dinner. We will definitely return to support.

I'm adamant about supporting black business, and will continue to. Feedback is critical to the success of any business, especially ours. The food was cold, not sure how the food is stored for the drivers to keep warm, but maybe a thermal bag could help. The oxtails seasoned well but maybe had been sitting awhile.

I decided to give this restaurant a try and I was disappointed. I ordered the turkey wings with dressing, Mac n cheese, and cabbage. The first turkey wing was fine but the second one was a little over cooked so I couldn't really eat it. The dressing was fine. The bad thing is that I found plastic in my Mac n cheese which was shocking and unexpected. I attached pictures with this review. I know mistakes/accidents happen but plastic should not end up in anyone's meal. To close, the cabbage was mushy and bland as well and appears to be sitting in a good amount of oil.

This Place Is Nasty As Hell..And How Dare They Make The Mac N Cheese Nasty, And The Prices Are Too High.

I tried this place a couple of weeks ago. My first order was OK. I ordered the dark meat fried chicken dinner. The yams were very good, not too sweet. The dressing had a heavy sage flavor, bit that didn't bother me. The problem was the gravy, there wasn't enough. The Mac and cheese was just OK. Remember, I ordered dark meat fried chicken. I got a thigh, a leg and a breast. If I was going to have white meat give me a wing. I decided to try them again today. This time I asked for extra gravy on the dressing. The dressing came in a separate container to accommodate the gravy. It wasn't seasoned with as much sage as it was the last time, but it was still good. The yams are still good and the mac and cheese is still OK. I still got a leg, thigh and breast. In whose book is a breast dark meat? Luckily it is not over cooked and I can make chicken salad with the breast and left over leg.

The food was delicious but noticeable smaller portions.
