This place is awesome. My husband is a true sandwich lover and he said his sandwich is the best he has had since moving to Washington 11 years ago. I had the Philly which was delicious but could have used more onions and peppers. I will still order it again and ask for extra. My husband had the American cold cut. We will be back. We plan to try every sub! This is a true neighborhood gem!!

This place is like a subway but really really good. High quality ingredients, everything always tastes super fresh, they'll customize your sandwiches, and they have a large variety of chip and drink options also. Service is always fantastic. Lots of cute little tables in the back with pictures of local places. Decent sized parking lot, usually not hard to find parking even when they're slammed.

Slow service nothing what it used to be and cashier are not the same as the originals and don't really know how to make a sub. Cashier recommend my sub toasted and I usually go hot. ... well it was over toasted and burnt on the end and ruined the roof of my month. I did like they're opened the dine in part. But the sandwiches are sub par and jersey mikes actually makes them better now WITH MORE MEAT! Sad when it costed $24.00

Great sandwiches, make sure to call ahead to place an order during lunch time - it’s popular! The customer service is good but sometimes you can tell they’re swamped. I’ve recently had the Cuban and Philly Cheesesteak (pictured). The 9” is the size to get, big but feasible to eat in one sitting. The dining area in the back isn’t anything fancy, most people seem to get their sandwiches as pick up. Go try it out!

Yummy veggie sandwich! My first time visiting and the sandwich didn’t disappoint. Large portion for a 6 inch, and was stuffed full of sprouts, lettuce, onion, tomato, avocado, mayo, pickles, and cucumber with cheeses. Glad we ordered at 10am because it was ready by 12. Be prepared to wait if you walk in. Not a sit down place. Great drink and chip selection. Highly recommend!

Really good sub/grinder/hoagy sandwiches. Walked in and ordered at 1030 and got my sandwich just before 1100. They’re very popular and busy. If you can, order ahead. Staff was friendly, patient and very busy. They were hustlin’.

I’ve driven past this place so many times and never realized how good their subs are. A friend recommended it, so we finally stopped in for lunch—and I was honestly surprised by the portion size. Very reasonably priced for how much food you get. You’re not going to find a nine-inch sub this loaded anywhere else at that price. Great value and really solid, delicious sandwiches. It’s a deli, so nothing fancy, but it’s busy for a reason. There’s almost always a wait—especially during peak times—so if you want to skip the line, calling ahead is the way to go. Otherwise, expect around a 30-minute wait.

I don't give many 5 stars, but this is hands down the best sandwich shop I've been to in a long time. I got the Cuban, and my wife got the French dip. Absolutely delicious. Great bread, great meat, and cheese. I highly recommend this place. One thing I would like to suggest, get an online ordering system please so we don't have to call over and over and get a busy signal! Lol

Ordered ahead like other reviews suggested and only has to wait little bit to our sammies to be done once we arrived, they were fantastic!!

Had an EXCELLENT experience here. I asked what was popular and was told the Deli Club or Mikes Deluxe. The Club was the employees favorite for the crunchy bacon and avocado. So I went with the Deli Club. Girls love them some avocado. $18.99 for a $13 inch sub seemed a little high priced until I saw the sandwich. Like they really mean 13"!!!! It was wrapped in butcher paper because this Sammie is so massive. It easily could feed 2 people, one of them having a large appetite! Every bite was delicious, not dry corners of bread on the edges at all. And somehow they've mastered that with each bite you take the filling actually doesn't slide out. It's freaking tasty magic!! The avocado spread must have been a tiny bit salted because best avocado I've had in a while!! Yes I noticed. I was glad I got the club because the REAL triple bacon crunch paired with the avocado and turkey was phenomenal. I even thought the shredded type lettuce worked well in this sub. And no soggy tomato slices! The Sammie was a 10/10. I only wished I lived closer so I could get a reasonably priced lunch or dinner anytime from here. Man how do the employees stop themselves from eating here all the time? I wouldn't be able to. Do yourself a favor and stop in sometime. Heck the beverage selection will even blow you away.

Line was super long, no one picked up the phone so we assumed it was busy! (45 minute wait for sandwiches.) You would not expect much from the outside but the sandwiches are great! There's a reason they're so busy. There's a bigger room in the back with tables where you can eat.

This place is a neighborhood sandwich shop. It is very busy- I recommend calling at least 30 minutes in advance if you want to get your sandwich. Otherwise you will be waiting at least 30 to 40 minutes. The reason they are busy is because it is so good. They have very reasonable price prices and the standard sandwich (9 inches) is so huge. My favorite thing to get there is the deluxe sandwich which comes with roast beef, ham, and turkey and a lot of veggies. They also have hot sandwiches although I haven't tried those but I'm sure they're great. The ambience is what you would expect for a hometown sandwich shop. Nothing fancy, but clean. I don't recommend staying there and eating. There really isn't anywhere to sit in there. There are a couple tables, although they are usually occupied by people waiting to pick up their sandwiches. They have a lot of drink options and chip options, which is always recommended when I am getting a sandwich. This is definitely my favorite sandwich shop in the area.

Seriously, the best deli sandwiches I've ever had in my whole entire life. The customer services A1 this place has been around for at least 30 years that I'm aware of the service is great and the ambience is great. The staff behind the counter works very hard and diligent in getting your order correct they use the best ingredients in house. Everything is cut. It is amazing. I mean it's 20 bucks for a sandwich but it's definitely worth it and I got two meals out of my sandwich. It's conveniently located right off of sixth Avenue easy to find and has a large ample parking area. If you don't go here you're crazy.

MSM will forever be a staple. The long wait times are always worth it. Their ingredients are fresh and sandwiches are tried and true. I wish they did delivery!

This is the kind of sandwich I dream about. If your a guy who gets a 12 inch at a sub chain you only want about a medium here. I ordered a large and ate until I was stuffed and still had half a sub. Prices are good, and they have a good selection of chips and soda, not just your standard 3 flavors like most chains..I want to give an extra shout out to the thick slices of gabbagoul . YUM! Be warned there is often a 30 to 60 minute wait during the peak hours... Trust me it's worth the wait. Just call and order your sub ahead of time if you don't want to wait.

Wanted a good Deli sandwich for awhile and MSM was the recommended place to go. It was just as I expected. A good Deli, the service was awesome and the young lady who helped made it easy to find good selection. Hey it's a Deli and has that Deli atmosphere. You can tell it's a good place because the to go orders were consistently being called in and the foot traffic was just as busy. If people are willing to wait 24-30min for a sandwich then it has to be good. It is very good and worth the visit and wait. So go order and enjoy.

One of the best sandwich spots in Washington--maybe even the entire PNW! I've known about MSM for a while, and I finally made the stop... and WOW, I'm so glad I did! This place is everything a sandwich shop should be, fresh, flavorful, and absolutely worth the hype. I went with the Mike's Deluxe, thanks to a friend's recommendation, and let me tell you, it was next-level amazing. Every bite was packed with fresh, high-quality ingredients, and you can just taste the care that goes into making each sandwich. Beyond the food, the service was outstanding. The staff was super kind and welcoming, and even though the shop was packed, they kept things moving efficiently. Heads up: This place is wildly popular, so if you don't order ahead, be ready for a bit of a wait. I arrived around 2:45 PM and waited 25 minutes, but honestly? Totally worth it. If you love sandwiches, MSM is a must-visit. Don't walk, RUN to this gem!

After seeing the reviews and comments, I had to try this place. We dropped off the kid and my wife and I headed to this sandwich haven. I love a good cuban sandwich, but it has to be a real cuban sandwich. Good roll pressed yep Slow cooked pork yes Ham nice quantity Dill pickles & Yellow mustard absolutely necessary and don't give me the seeded or Grey poupon...it doesn't have the right flavor. Don't try fancy pickles...it doesn't work. Swiss cheese check No mayo. Get that away from my sandwich. From the 1st bite, I was hooked. I love the amazing umami flavors or the rich slow roasted pork mixed with the perfectly salted ham. Then comes in those tart flavors of the pickles and mustard, it start to hit all my favorite flavors in something that never made sense in my mind, but blows away with how it works. The swiss cheese balances things perfectly. I just love a real cuban sandwich. I can't even remember or care what else was ordered...it just doesn't matter.

Honestly mid tier sandwich. If you cant get an Italian right, somethings wrong. Made with no love. And who on Earth puts pickles on an Italian? I understand that its a town favorite, possibly due to a cult following. It was quite busy when I arrived with a 20 minute wait for this sad excuse for a sandwich. I'd recommend Subway or Jersey Mikes instead.

If the prices of the sandwiches scare, you take a deep breath and prepare to be surprised by how much food you actually get. Those sandwiches are massive and whatever they put in them is magic highly recommend. Be sure to call in your order unless you wanna wait a half an hour for your sandwich though. They can be super busy.

My son has deemed this the "best peanut butter and jelly" he's ever had! He says it was the perfect ratio of peanut butter to jelly and the bread with less crust was also fantastic. Visited on a busy Tuesday with friends. There was a long line but everyone had it together and the team clearly knows how to work under pressure! All of our orders were what we asked for and the staff were kind and knowledgeable. My girlfriend was thrilled they have shredded lettuce for their sandwiches which is her favorite. Will definitely stop by again soon.

We came here based on my daughter's insistence this was the best sandwiches near her campus. They were excellent. Everything from the service to the fresh ingredients were really great. They quoted a time and it was exactly to the minute ready. I tried their Mikes Deluxe, even the 6 inch was ginormous. A delicious dose of ham, turkey, roast beef, cheddar and Swiss with veggies and sprouts. So delicious! The bread was soft but not too soft and everything tasted fresh. There is a no frills eating area in the back past the coolers. Plenty of chips and drinks to chose from. If you're going at a peak time, might want to call in your order. I can see why this is a neighborhood favorite.

Excellent sandwich spot. Stumbled into this very unassuming deli/market during the art walk. I read excellent reviews and my bff said it's very good. It's a simple deli with your traditional sandwich options (although I eyeballed a Cubano on the menu). I ordered the turkey club, 9" which was incredibly generous! This was very good and satisfied a sandwich craving I had.

The neighborhood I grew up in, had a local sandwich shop. This place reminds me of it! Everyone comes here and they will definitely run out of meat or soup options if you get here too late or on a sunny day. It looks pretty ran down from the outside/inside. But like someone else said, don't judge the books cover. If you want a real classic sandwich, come here!

Fabulous sandwiches! We had the Italian and the Club and both were amazing. The bread though is probably the best part. Soft with great flavor. Yum!!!

Alll of gotta say, is thanks to PNW Foodies on FB who posted about the AMAZING sandwiches . It was Sunday and MSM was closing in 30 minutes, so we got there, ordered and brought home the most delicious sandwiches ever....really. I love local places and couldn't believe that these amazing sandwiches were not on our radar. Super clean deli, made to order on house made bread. so good!!

This is probably one of the best sandwich spot that I've been to, the portions are huge for a good price. I usually go to Jimmy John's or Jersey Mike's. This is way better - you can get a giant one for basically the same price or cheaper, the owner is really nice as well. 10/10 recommend.

First time here today. I get the hype. Classic deli, no frills inside but the food is delicious. The turkey on my sandwich was fresh the pepper jack had the right amount of heat and the bread was just the right amount of soft combined with a crispy crust. Service was amazing and super helpful. There are only 2 tables so don't count on eating in but go!

Still soooo good. This place better never close down. I love their style and variety of sandwiches. Still super busy and great quality. This time I tried the Cuban. It was a 30 minute wait so I went out and ran a short errand and returned for my order. It was expertly made and came with a pickle spear! Great job Magical Sandwich Makers! Try this place!

I used to live and work down the street and we would have Multiple Drug Reps pick up lunch from here (Pre-crazy times). They even still have amazing service just like back in the day!!! BROVO for not changing!!!

Stopped in and picked up the 9" Mike's Deluxe. The sandwich was delicious and huge. I could only eat 1/2. Lunch for tomorrow!! Great place.

While there is not much to look at from the inside from a building standpoint, the sandwiches were delicious. We tried 4 different 9 inch sandwiches and just 1/2 of it could serve as an entire meal. The other half was another meal. Great flavor.

MSM Deli - A Tacoma Must-Visit! Every time I'm in Tacoma, I make it a point to stop by MSM Deli--hands down, they have the best sandwiches around. I always order the Deli Club, which comes stacked with turkey, crispy bacon, fresh sprouts, and other delicious toppings, all on their amazing French bread. The bread alone is worth the visit--soft inside with the perfect crust. They've been serving the community since the early '80s, and their loyal following shows why. The place is popular for a reason, so I definitely recommend calling your order in ahead of time to skip the wait. MSM Deli is a true local gem, and I can't wait for my next visit!

All the sandwiches I have eaten here are delicious. The service is quick for the amount of orders they are getting. The cashiers that have been working when I go have all been friendly. The space is small for dine in so a seat is not guaranteed. I'd pick up to go instead of banking on a table and chair. Each table has two chairs and they had 3 tables last time I went. My preferred sandwich is the philly.

Grew up eating MSM, a staple of Tacoma and the best sandwiches! Fresh ingredients and friendly people. An easy 5 stars to give.

This was my first time here as I was working close by. I ordered the 9-in Deli Club which came with turkey, bacon, cheddar, sprouts, tomatos, onions and avocado. It looked like the bread was fresh made but this sandwich was fantastic! The balance of smokiness from the bacon with the creaminess from the avocado and the freshness from the tomatoes and sprouts made this sandwich perfect. I went during lunch so it was about a 15 to 20 minute wait, but I have no problem waiting for a great product. Next time I would order ahead just to save a little bit of time, but this sandwich was absolutely worth it!

When one day wasn't enough and you had to go the next day for another. This time without the wait! Definitely recommend phoning in your order to avoid waiting 30 mins. But, definitely worth it if you do

Lived in Pierce County for several years and we finally tried MSM Deli. Lots of choices on the menu. We chose the Mike's Deluxe and the Reuben. Both were delicious. The Mike's was huge and I got the smallest one! Reuben average size, maybe a little thinner than we expected based on other sandwich sizes. The bread on the Mike's was really good like it was baked fresh the same day. The meat tasted like good quality deli meats. The pickle spears also good and crunchy. The cookies were really really good! Started out with 2, but after tasting one, I went back to the counter and ordered 2 more! They were chocolate chip coconut, and macadamia mix. There is a very large and chips. We settled on the coke in the glass bottles, even though they had Coke and cans and plastic bottles the Coke in the glass bottles there's no comparison. Prices were very reasonable. Staff was all kind, courteous, and patient with us as we were mulling over the menu choices. We went at about 1pm and there was a 20min wait. Dining area with tables and chairs in the back. We wouldn't have known about the dining area if staff didn't tell us . We are looking forward to returning to try other menu options.

Very easy 5 star. Sandwiches were great, made fresh and to order. Word of advice. Call your order in. We waited about 25 minutes for our order. This place was non stop busy, the line almost out the door. But the service was great and friendly.

Best Sammies in Tacoma! Food has been consistent for years. The only thing to remember is sometimes they get crazy busy! So try to call in your order ahead if you can. The building itself is unassuming and white with blue trim. So if you don't know the area, gotta pay attention or you might pass it. My go to is the Catch of the Day and has been for as long as I can remember. They also have chips (not the British kinds lol) and beverages like a mini-Mart so you can extra goodies. They also have soups, pitas and salads if that's more your jam. Sometimes the soups do get sold out, so be sure to ask ahead or order that in advance. I've ordered the party size subs a few times too, and they are a hit at the parties. So don't hesitate to try MSM, they aren't called that for no reason. Gotta experience the Magical Sandwich Makers or else you're missing out!

Best sandwiches around. It's an institution in Tacoma. I love the French dips. I usually order the 13 inch French dip for dinner and have enough leftovers for lunch the next day.

Food was delicious! If you don't mind waiting 30+ minutes for a pretty good sandwich. Make sure you get one of their delicious coconut chocolate chip cookies!

The best sandwiches in Tacoma. I always make a point of stopping here whenever I'm in town. It's well worth the wait. I love the pickles that come with every sandwich. The bread is so tangy and tasty. My favorite is the tuna salad toasted with some cheese. They know how to make a perfect sandwich.

Hands down BEST deli sandwiches in town! Parking available and limited seating inside. Bread is very fresh as are the other ingredients. Great variety of chips and beverages. Amazing cookies! Order in advance or in the deli. Great customer service.

Amazing sandwich spot that was our go to spot when we had lived closer. Now it became a treat when I would be around the area. I took my brother and his family who were visiting and all they could do is rave about the chicken ceaser sandwich. Right now, my favorite is their Reuben. It's toasted and is a great choice for a warm sandwich. But honestly can't go wrong with any of their sandwiches as they all taste amazing. They do get pretty busy when they open all through lunch so if you want to save some time, I suggest calling ahead.

Best deli sandwiches in TTown!! I've been getting Sammie's here for over 18 years!! My fave is Turkey & Swiss, my husbands go to is the Mike's Deluxe!! Best bread with generous ingredients! I also love their Chili with cheese & onions when it's not sold out! The place doesn't look like much from the outside but don't be deterred it's worth the wait as the orders do stack up here. I was craving a Reuben sandwich, and wanted it made right. Choosing MSM was the best choice. It was delicious with generous ingredients put together perfectly. Their customer service was outstanding! I felt welcomed and that they appreciated my business. That speaks volumes with the amount of customers they have walking in the door. The wait time was half an hour, but it was worth it. They've changed the layout so ordering is much more efficient and organized. Thank you again MSM!

I would go to MSM because they have thick cuts of meat and the sandwiches but recently I got a sandwich and it's so thin. I feel like Walmart has a thicker cut of meat than this.

I came here with one of my friends, and I just loved the vibes. It's one of those sandwich shops that should be on a food network show for how good their food is. I ordered the 6" veggie, and it was massive! I ate half, and saved the rest for later. The veggies were so fresh, and I loved the sprouts! Can't wait to go back here again.

best deli in tacoma!! from their bread to varieties of sandwiches... they got something for everyone. this is a hot spot so i'd recommend calling in your orders! there is a small parking lot but it can fill up quickly during lunch. luckily cars aren't parked there too long so you should be able to find parking sooner than later. i had the daily catch which is basically chopped up shrimp with some mayo and seasonings. it was delicious!

Legit sandwich shop. Big portions with lots of flavor. I highly recommend coming here. Not much for a sitting area, this is more grab and go.
