Always a great spot to crush a pizza & a pint! Soft chewy dough, delicious beer, and super friendly staff. If you're cruising along the bike path, definitely stop in! Wood fired pizza done right! They also always have great music 🎶

Google
This gem has been our go to for the past 2 years. Pizza is great but the Beer might be the best damn beer I’ve had from Austin to San Diego. A must for anyone looking to eat close to Portland city and a bonus spot for people visiting the opera house, train museum and the Science museum. Best way to travel would be by train over the friendship bridge.

Google
Outstanding food and delicious drinks! The gluten free pizza is so good my husband didn’t believe it was really gluten free!

Google
What a fun spot. I've been to this area of town many times but never noticed this place before. Great menu with fresh ingredients and well considered flavors. The IPA was tasty and clean, not too hoppy or overly alcoholic. I had the burrata salad which was excellent and the cheeseburger pizza special which was a new one for me and will now be on my list of things to look for.

Google
Great food,, good drinks,, good prices. Even our picky 4-year-old said it was the best pizza he's ever had! Sitting in the train car, watching trains go by was pretty cool too.

Google
Great little place kinda in the middle of nowhere except if you use transit or bike. Beers are decent and they have a covered dining area in the “train car”. Nice view from the main room and great happy hour specials where you can get a pizza for $12-13. Looked and smelled great but didn’t have time to try it.

Google
Wood-fired pizza, great brews on tap, bridges, clouds. The quintessential Portland stroll stop.

Google
As a New Yorker, my standards for pizza are extremely high. This place was really good. Pizza and chicken Caesar salad were both excellent and their in house beer was also crisp and refreshing. Staff and owner were so friendly and helpful as well. Part of the restaurant is a train car which is pretty cool too.

Yelp
Cheeseless tomato pie? Yes please. I stumbled upon this place after seeing it tucked away in some train cars by the Tilikum Bridge. The people making the pizzas were great. Being in the train cars was super cool. Loved the interior.

Yelp
We were visiting the train museum so stopped by this little brewery that looked like a real railroad car on the side (maybe it is?). We had a bunch of kids so just stopped in for a snack and some beer. The pizza is fire wood and it was quick and delicious. The draft we got was also good. It was a quiet day so we had the whole area to ourselves.

Yelp
First time experiencing Mt. Hood Brewing by visiting this location. Steve and I were both highly impressed with the beer here. I especially liked the Mt. Hood Lager. It was a while back during our visit and the day was a real hot one so I think this lager hit the spot all the more. Flavor highlights with this lager are malty, spicy and with some oatmeal. The beer was extremely aromatic and light bodied which absolutely hit the spot on this very hot summer day. This location, the Tilikum Station location is really cool and took us to a part of Portland that we don't often frequent. They look to have some very promising food options here as well but due to the heat we were eating as lightly as possible.

Yelp
The pizzas and burrata salad were amazing and add to that the ambience then sprinkle in delicious beer for good measure! Our food came up quick to fill 7 bellies, 4 of which were under 8 years! We ate so much pizza: pepperoni, cheese and Margherita as recommended by the counter person. I'm still dreaming of these flavors... oh and the burrata was with peach, arugula and balsamic. We were all entertained by trains going by but pack headphones for the littles because the whistle was loud and rough for them; please keep hands and fingers inside (seriously, the train goes by inches away so keep an eye on kids... and beer saturated adults!).

Yelp
This is a wonderful experience. I had a pizza where the ingredients were super fresh. Everything is exceptionally fantastic. The staff was top notch as well.

Yelp
Atmosphere: Great atmosphere. One of my favorite atmospheres as far as breweries go. You can choose to sit in the train car, or in the nice main area which feels very open. They have wi-fi so you can bring your laptop and nurse a beer as well Food: Did not eat, but the pizza looked excellent. I also loved the beers that I got. Price: Standard. The happy hour pizza is also a good way to go. Service: Walk-up counter but staff was friendly Parking: Parking lot

Yelp
Automatic 18% gratuity for counter service is a big turn off. This place is very charming, but that was the only thing going for this place. The train cars were very cute and there were some history you could read about them on the walls. After you place your order, you find your own table, gather your own utensils and serve yourself water. We ordered the garlic bread and the pepperoni pizza and both were really salty. The red sauce on the pizza had a weird tangy taste. After you eat, you bus your own tables and leave. Unfortunately not coming back here.

Yelp
You can not find a better pizza pie, better brew and at a better location than MHBC. Place rocks! Pie cooked through right crunchy crust and toppings yum! My wife really really likes arugula mushrooms white sauce. I've tried most all pies with red (tomato) sauce. For me yesterday the special was fennel sausage, shashito peppers, sun dried tomato on white sauce awesome delish-esssss-nesssss (word from my pizza vocabulary). Great service! Enjoy grub on a refurbished caboose rail car. Bg windows open every where so the let the sunshine in while the wind was blowing yesterday and sook up the brew suds and crunch out a delish-esssss-nesssss pizza. We come frequently. We know good pizza places. Gotta try here now - I'm telling you!

Yelp
If you are in the neighborhood, Mt. Hood Brewing is a great family friendly option. We had a big group so they let us move the tables around. Even though you order at the counter, the service here is great. The whole team is friendly and helpful! The food and drinks were awesome too! We had several of the pizzas and they were all fantastic! We even tried the gluten free crust, it's one of the best I've ever eaten! Kids and adults alike were all happy with the food! I'll definitely be back! Great food, great service, great location!

Yelp
The Mt. Hood Brewing Company is a great place. Went there for lunch and loved the the boxcars that served as the restaurant. Loved it. The servers were cool and explained the menu and pizza was amazing. The cheese bread was some of the best I ever had. The beer choices were amazing. What a great choice.

Yelp
Food 5/5 Service 5/5* Value for the money 3/5 Overall: 4/5 Food: - I loved this place! Their PAPPY ($16.00) with white sauce, aged & resh mozzarella, parmesan, jalapeños, fennel sausage is as good as it gets. If I can be honest, it's the best pizza I've had in a long time. It was well crusted, the topping filled well the entire pizza.... and the topping itself was well made. Service: - I mean, tbh not much to expect since you order in the counter Value for the money: - This one is a bit tricky. We ordered a $14 pizza and a $16 one and a 12oz soda. I have no idea how the total was $39.93 as we tipped in the jar because there is no sales tax. Maybe there was some kind of secret tip that I didn't see in the ipad? I don't know. This was a little weird. I'll let it slide for now, but a bit strange. Overall, great experience, except that I didn't expect to spend $40 for two single sized pizzas and a soda.

Yelp
The pizza is great, the beer is even greater! The staff is friendly and the location is fun with seating available in the attached train cars. Just be warned, everything is almost 20% more expensive than advertised as there is an 18% mandatory tip (that states it goes to the staff only). That's the reason why we don't go as often. Not a fan of forced tips (even if it's what I would normally tip for good service)

Yelp
We went because of it's proximity to the railroad museum and OMSI. I guess we were thinking of a brewpub menu for Sunday afternoon lunch, but, it's pizza and a couple salad options. Food was ok, music too loud, but I missed the small sign by the order counter that said they'd be charging an 18% service fee. No service is provided, other than they bring food to your table...that you hunt down. When I got home and looked closely at my receipt, I discovered the 18% fee. All in all, we won't return .
google avatar

Roxy R.

Yelp
Conveniently close to OMSI for moms, dads, and caregivers who have had their fill of kids. Drive 3 mins up the street and find this cool little brewery, complete with caboose seating. We ordered 2 pepperoni pizzas for 2 teens and a kiddo -- they said it was great! My partner and I got a daily special, The Mary Jane which had bacon, caramelized onions, and jalapeños. Super flavorful, I wish there was more on the plate in front of me! Sad, we ate it all. Quickly. Too quickly. Next time, maybe we will get a pizza and a non-pizza item to share (one pizza yields 6 smaller than average slices). We also got Light Rails to drink-- what a refreshing cocktail. Crater Lake ginger vodka, fresh lemon and basil, brown sugar syrup, and soda water = mmmmm. The service was good! We were greeted upon entry, our order and food was delivered quickly. Everything tasted wonderful and they had reggae playing on a speaker so bonus, right!

Yelp
I've been here a couple of times, both on a casual date, and on an outingnwith my kid. The pizza is great! They offer ice cream which my kid wasn't super fond of, but I thought was tasty. Staff are helpful, friendly, and present but not overbearing. Plus the view and the train cars are super fun!
google avatar

Yelp
Fun venue in old train car. Mushroom pizza was excellent!! Beer selection was good. Was a rainy Sunday afternoon, and people watching was good along Max tracks. Will definitely make a return visit sometime.
google avatar

Yelp
Love this place! Excellent pizza, staff is great and trains are dog friendly. It has become a post run place for us to grab a pizza and beer.

Yelp
Wonderfully situated just right outside of Oregon Rail museum. We got to dine inside of rail cart. Love the charted blacken pizza crust, great flavors. We had artichokes with olive and pepperoni pizza Enjoyed Oregon weather, sun shine, rain the sun shine again as we dine. Got to see people walking, running , had a wonderful time. DIY help yourself style, clean your own table, grab your own plates, utensils, etc. Great! Highly recommended if you are in the area. Wonderful beer too. We plan to come back when the museum completes the turntable! Will be back.

Yelp
Came here for a friend's birthday party since Mt. Hood Brewing Co. offers gluten-free pizza ($2 extra per pie). Ordered the $14 Margherita only to see at the register that there's an additional 18.5% service delivery charge. For what? A waiter carries the pizza on a plate to your table. Bus your own table, by the way, and if you want water get a cup and draw it yourself. The only appeal here is that you can eat at a table inside an old railroad car. The pizza (we shared a simple Margherita) is mediocre at best.
google avatar

Alissa A.

Yelp
Quick service and quality food. We stopped here after a trip to OMSI and glad we did. We ordered the cheesy garlic bread, and two pizzas. Both were ready quickly and tasted so good. Glad we gave this place a try!

Rae R.

Yelp
I went to this establishment due to their proximity to OMSI. I checked the menu out before hand it all looked great. I was even more excited to try the food after seeing how cute the restaurant was...loved the rail cars. Parking was easy. I arrived prior to the friend I was meeting and got a table; it was sticky and seemed like it hadn't been cleaned in ages. I moved to the next table; it was the same. Finally, on the third try, I found a clean table. My friend arrived and sat down, as we were talking a woman with five screaming kid sat several tables away. We decided to move to a table in the main building to avoid the noise of the children. Unfortunately, the children ran back and forth between the rooms screaming throughout our entire meal. I was surprised to find that an 18% gratuity was added to the order with no way to opt out. Don't get me wrong, I am more than happy to tip when it's warranted. Considering I had to place my own order, collect my own plate, napkins, etc. and bus my own table, no tip was warranted. The food was just okay. I ordered a Margherita Pizza, Caprese Salad, and a soda. Unfortunately, they really skimped on the mozzarella cheese which pretty much ruined both the pizza and salad. Seriously, the salad had only four little cubes of cheese. On the plus side, one free soda refill was provided. The staff were pleasant and helpful, which is why I'm giving them three stars instead of two. I wont be going back.

Yelp
This place probably doesn't come up often in lists of best breweries or best pizzerias in town. But it succeeds on both counts. Good Neapolitan style pizza, and nice variety of tasty brews. The location and buildings are what make it great -- you get to hang out in an old train car. And you are right by a major transit and bike hub, the Tilikum Bridge. Hop off the Max, or off your bike after a ride on the Springwater, and stop in. Unfortunately there is no bike parking area or racks. There is a railing to lock to, and you can usually see your bike from inside, but still -- every place should encourage cycling by providing good parking, especially one in this location. Also they should reduce the car parking lot and install some outdoor seating. During nice weather, though, the train cars' windows are wide open, providing good ventilation. So this feels like a pretty Covid-safe place to dine.

Yelp
How can you not want lunch in a 1921 Northern Pacific Caboose??? Trusted Yelp to steer me in the right direction and it led us to this amazing brewery with fresh, delicious pizza. The perfect combination when you throw in prompt, courteous service. Not sure which beer you want? They'll give you a sample. We ordered the Wurst pizza which was the Best pizza. Crisp crust, plenty of toppings and well seasoned. For beer we chose the Cloud Cap. To top it off the dining room is in two antique railroad cars. Great for families or anyone looking for a nice place to eat some good food and drink good beer.
google avatar

Dino D.

Yelp
Place is nice. Very clean and open environment. Ordered three pizzas and ice cream. When you order your food there is a gratuity add on your bill. They will tell you this if you did not read it on their menu. Food is pricey and good. Had two pepperoni pizzas and a margarita pizza.
google avatar

Lauren C.

Yelp
Very cool restaurant that is inside an old train. Usually not a big beer drinker but the seasonal citrus sour was very good. It also was pretty strong as well and at a reasonable price. The pizza was as good as it looks in the picture. Soft, crunchy crust, and fresh toppings. Will be back for sure!
google avatar

Tiffany D.

Yelp
Such a cute spot for this brewery! There's an indoor section as well as the repurposed train car seating area. The pizza was fantastic, just don't ask for ranch lol. The beers we tried was great too!

Christy M.

Yelp
Had a meal here with my daughter and grandson, age 5, after riding the Christmas train, which was great! I've eaten there before and it was fine-good. This time there was a service charge of 18% for us. Two adults & one preschool child who stand at the counter to place our food and beverage order. And we closed the door, upon request because someone else left it open. Pizza was lame & slightly overcooked. Beer was good, but they just pour that. I can understand a fixed charge for a group of 6 or more, but not two +. Won't be returning.
google avatar

Jill J.

Yelp
My husband and I are still talking about how good the food was here and how delicious the salad with the warm Hazelnuts really made our day. We will be back.
google avatar

Sara H.

Yelp
Popped in after shopping at the Pop Train shop (pun intended). Hubby was driving and saw the caboose and almost gave us whiplash as he reversed into the parking lot. Super casual spot with friendly service. The beer pleased our palettes. As we walked in the pizza smell permeated the atmosphere and though we couldn't try their pizza as we had just had late brunch, we will return.

Yelp
A unique and Portland experience- wood fired pizza in a rail car while watching trains go by. I had only been to the Mt Hood Brewing location in Government Camp, which sadly doesn't serve wood fired pizzas, and my parents had been raving about this place since their last visit. It's a bit of a hidden spot best OMSI and acres from the heritage rail center and has parking. There's limited seating inside the rail cars but a fun experience. Pizzas were all delicious and it happened to be happy hour on Margaritas. They also have a cheese less pizza for those that are dairy free or on special diets. Service was slow but it was over the holidays and looked like they had limited staff, all whom were really hustling- cooking, washing dishes, taking orders, and serving. Definitely a repeat spot.
google avatar

Gabriel W.

Yelp
Tried the IPA But loved the Porter and Oatmeal! It's a great experience in the old train cars and nothing like the feel of the rumble of the tracks as a rail car goes by. I didn't have the food but it sure smelled good! Worth the trip across the bridge!

Alex M.

Yelp
We went here with a group of 4 adults and 3 kids. We ordered ahead and while we planned to take out pizzas to go, due to unforeseen circumstances we ended up needing to eat there. This was obviously a major issue to the staff. From the moment we mentioned our necessary change of plans we were made to feel persona non grata by the entire staff. Dirty looks, unpleasant comments, and just a general rude/put out demeanor. We sat and ate quickly and uncomfortably. The moment we began clearing our table multiple staff members came over and began grabbing our things, without comment, one going as far as to literally grab a box out of our hands without a word. We left feeling literally RUN OUT by the staff. Trying to figure out exactly where we went so wrong. I understand the bummer that wasting a few boxes might impose - but is it worth treating customers so poorly? I understand if you're not a kid friendly establishment - but our kids were well behaved and nearly every other party in the place had kids too. I understand if a customer walks in and behaves rudely or offensively - but we were incredibly apologetic about the change to eating in and pleasant. Needless to say, we won't be back.

Lauren B.

Yelp
We went to this place after spending the afternoon at OMSI. I have never had worse service in my life. Every member of the staff was rude to not only the adults in our party but also the kids. When I asked the cashier what kind of sodas they had he told me I could go get a menu and figure it out myself. When I was walking to clear my plate one of the staff grabbed it out of my hands without saying a thing and gave me a dirty look. The food was decent, but we couldn't get out of the restaurant fast enough. My husband and son were finishing their dinners and a staff member came over to wipe down the table while they were still sitting there and gave them mean looks. It was incredibly uncomfortable. Do not go to this place!
google avatar

Nicole M.

Yelp
Stop here for good wood-fired pizza and beer and the unique experience of eating/ drinking in a rail car while watching trains go by! They're located by the Tilikum bridge near the Oregon Rail Heritage Center. Their pizza has a soft, chewy crust with some crunch and they offer a good selection of beer.
google avatar

Molly A.

Yelp
Had never been here before, and stumbled upon it because my original plan was closed today. Took my som for pizza and it was such a pleasant, cute little place. We got the cheese pizza, garlic bread, and I had the caprese salad, and all were tasty. Crust was great on the pizza. Only criticism would be the cheese on the cheese pizza seemed a tad salty, but otherwise was very tasty. The setting is great for kids - you can sit in one of two old converted train cars, and watch the Trimet services (bus, streetcar, max line) come and go pn and off the Tillicum bridge. Service was just a tad slow for food coming out. All in all though, I'm quite happy to have found this place, and will def be back if I'm in the area and wanting to get some pizza with my kiddo.
google avatar

Danielle C.

Yelp
This salad was $12 on the menu. With an automatic 18% gratuity and tax, it was $15. For lettuce, very little dressing, and powdered "croutons". The pizza was ok. The 18% "service charge" really throws me off when you order at the counter and have to bus your own table. Their system also still asks for an additional tip on top of the 18%. The service we did get wasn't great either. they brought the pizza and dropped it down on the table and left without saying a word.
google avatar

Ally F.

Yelp
Yummy oatmeal stout, pale ale, and warm olives after a long bike ride on the Springwater Corridor. The best part was hanging out in an old train with the bridge view. The people who work here are so nice.
google avatar

Stephanie D.

Yelp
What a cute and fun hidden gem near tucked away near OMSI. It is a small space as it is a converted train. But still pretty family friendly. There isn't ac, so I would also suggest going when it's a bit cooler. You know you are getting good pizza if the pepperonis curl! The pizzas were decently sized. We were able to share two among 4 people.

Yelp
After riding on the Holiday Express, our Grandson who is obsessed with trains, we discovered, without any prior notice, that the group celebrating our grandchild's 2nd birthday was to reconvene at Mt. Hood Brewery. GPS was able to guide us there on that cold, dreary, late Sunday afternoon. We had never heard of the place, which we pretty much had to ourselves at that point. Our group - mostly parents and kids - chose to hang out in the red caboose. It was easy to order off the menu at the counter. The toddlers got busy entertaining themselves to crayons (if they wanted to), train toys, and the clean floor - didn't mind them being there, you could lick the floor, it's CLEAN! (At the end, my son provided 3 toddlers to a 5 1/2" x 2 1/2" screen to watch more train videos on the floor!) See photo. The food was delivered to our train car and table. DH prefers wine to beer. The wine list is small, but DH said that the Oregon Pinot Noir he ordered was awesome. They have a nice choice of salads - we had the Romaine with Caesar dressing. The pizzas on the menu all looked good to me. We chose two and they were both delicious. DH devoured his pepperoni and I took home half of my Margherita. The pizza size was perfect for one person. The eating area was clean and well-stocked with plates, silverware, and napkins. Except, when one of the toddlers accidentally knocked a small container of olive oil on the table, to the floor and splashed on parts of the sleeve and back of my new Ralph Lauren puffy jacket. Mother and I both spent a good time wiping off the spills (after going back for more napkins, out of the red caboose to the main counter out front). The restrooms are accessed from the outside - ask at the counter for the combination code. As time passed, it became apparent that others had heard of Mt. Hood Brewer before - the place was now jam packed.

Yelp
Great pizza, delicious beers on tap. Located next to Heritage rail museum. Atmosphere was vibrant. We will be back to try more off of the menu. No negatives

Brittany S.

Yelp
Amazing pizza! Got the diablo and pepperoni and it was better than a lot of overrated pizzas in portland. The Caesar salad was also so good for a simple caesar. The staff was great. Sean specifically was so kind and accommodating to the group we came in with.
google avatar

Alana R.

Yelp
Wanted to stop by for a quick drink and snack. Waited in line for over 20 minutes to order. The staff seemed wholly inconvenienced to even have customers present. They did not say one word to me or any other customers waiting in line to order. Very odd. People are pretty understanding if you tell them you are running behind or asking them to wait a moment to order. Even acknowledging people's presence is a start. Ended up leaving because of no communication from staff and no one ever took my order. Did not feel inclusive or welcoming. Perhaps rethink business strategy if you run a restaurant. Shocker you will have customers you will have to interact with. Will not recommend.

Yuli L.

Yelp
My friend told me you can drink beer and eat pizza in cute train carts, and i was sold! It was a bit confusing to get into the brewery at first, since their entrance is right by the rail track. Then I was a bit confused about where to park in the tiny parking lot until I saw s sign saying we can park under the overpass. Other than that, it really was quite easy to find the brewery. After all, it's right by the colorful train carts. We placed our orders at the cashier by the main building, then found our seats in the red cart. The green one had open windows, and the red one didn't . Both were pleasant to sit in. We ordered a pitcher of larger and two pizza: walla walla and pepperoni. The pepperoni was good, the small round pepperoni added just enough saltiness and crunchiness to the pie. Our favorite was walla walla. At first i thought it was a weird choice, but the freshness of the crunchy onion won me over. Together, the freshness of walla walla and the saltiness of pepperoni were a perfect combination! It's a good place to drink beer and watch the sunset. I'll be back!
google avatar

Jenny H.

Yelp
The coolest spot for dinner. Catch the sunset while eating pizza :) Happy Hour special: $5 Margherita pizza. Get the arugula salad on the side. The crust was wonderful and crispy. So worth it. Their rose lemonade is also delicious!
google avatar

Connie C.

Yelp
Pizza on a train? [Faux response of a Toddler that doesn't like to eat] And I will eat them, in the rain. And in the dark. And on a train. Not much persuasion required to get a kid to eat dinner if it's pizza on a train rail car & near the Oregon Rail Heritage Center no less. It's an order at the counter & find your seat kind of joint, which is perfect for a quick bite & beer as you watch trains new & old race by. The bar has an ice segment to keep cups frosty too. We got the Alpine & Ezzo pizzas. The folks here were super nice & the condiment / water stations were fully stocked with real Parmesan. Both pizzas were delish.
google avatar

Brandy Q.

Yelp
It's a cute place, especially to go during lunch. Solid pizza and moderate prices. Really close to public transportation and has a few parking spots too. I tried both their Tillikum and Diablo (however I'm vegetarian and subbed the meat for roasted red bell pepper). I liked how garlicky the Tillokum was and have discovered I do not enjoy roasted red bell peppers. The other parts were good. Couldn't really taste the honey. One pizza was plenty for me. Someone with a smaller appetite could probably share a pizza but I was able to finish one by myself.
google avatar

Jeanie Z.

Yelp
Great find near OMSI. pizza was fresh and delicious as was the salad. Great beer variety. Loved the soda options for the kids. Staff was wonderful.

Larry M.

Yelp
Tipping is out of control! My wife and I went here to get a pizza last night. We had to stand in line at the counter to order, then find a table seat ourselves. When our pizza and salad was delivered to our table, the deliverer of the pizza and salad then pointed to a table across the room in the corner where we could go pick up our napkins, forks, knives and water if we wanted it. No one ever came to our table while we ate to see if we needed anything. That is all fine, except for the fact that we were charged an automatic 18% gratuity at the counter when we paid. We won't be going back.

This place mandates a tip. A tip is based on good service. It is not up to me or anyone to pay their salary. I chose not to tip. They did not serve me. I walked out as anyone should.
