Luckily no wait on a cold rainy night, was seated quickly and the staff service was respectful and professional. Really fresh ingredients, especially the meat and seafood. You can select up to 3 soup bases at once which we appreciated. Would highly recommend and will definitely come back again!

We had an amazing first time visit. The broth was very flavorful and delicious, not just spicy. The meats were delicious and they had the most variety of vegetables I’ve seen at a hotpot restaurant. The service was great and the staff was very friendly, attentive, clearing plates regularly and adding more broth to the soup. All in all a great experience and we will be back!

Came to their soft opening. The food was amazing! Amazing service as well! They came by frequently to check up on us. And made sure we had what we needed. The beef belly was very good. Usually in other places the rolls are cut very thin, but here it was very thick. To our surprise the cherry on top was their fruits, the pineapple (free!) was also very sweet.

Had hotpot at Mt ShooTao Hot Pot in Manhattan and it was such a great experience! The place is very clean and the atmosphere feels calm and elegant. The tomato broth was rich and flavorful, and the mushroom broth was super comforting. Freshly sliced beef was tender and delicious, and the vegetable & mushroom platter looked amazing — perfect for photos too. Service was friendly and attentive, and everything came out quickly. Definitely a great spot for hotpot in the city — will be coming back with friends!

This hot pot restaurant is easily among the best in Manhattan when it comes to food quality. The ingredients are exceptionally fresh and the selection is extensive. They also offer some creative options, like pork floss–stuffed fried bread, which add an extra layer of flavor to the hot pot experience. Beyond the food, the service is excellent. The staff are attentive, enthusiastic, and genuinely care about how you feel about the dishes. Overall, it’s a fantastic spot and highly recommended for hot pot lovers.

Great hot pot with rich, flavorful broth and very fresh ingredients. The meat quality is excellent, and the sauce bar has plenty of options. Service is friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere is clean and comfortable. Definitely worth coming back again.

I recently had an excellent dining experience at Mt. ShooTao Hot Pot with two close friends. One of them recommended the restaurant after seeing it highly praised on Chinese social media (WeChat), so I made a reservation for August 19, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. We arrived at 5:50 p.m. and were warmly greeted by waiters Ruben and Jacky. Even though the restaurant wasn't very busy, they thoughtfully offered us a larger table near the back, giving us extra privacy--an especially considerate gesture for a small group of three. Jacky recommended the Triple Flavored Pot, which was perfect since each of us could enjoy our preferred broth without compromise. He was also incredibly friendly and surprised us with complimentary treats: a large bottle of Iced Osmanthus Soy Milk and Seaweed & Pork Floss Fried Dough. Both were delicious and very much appreciated. We also enjoyed complimentary appetizers of kelp and edamame. Many restaurants charge for these small dishes, so it was a pleasant surprise. The edamame, in particular, stood out as a plant-based protein option that vegan diners would appreciate. As a vegan, I was especially impressed by the service from waitress Amy. She helped me order two portions of the ShooTao Seasonal Veggie & Mushroom Mountain, which were flavorful and satisfying. My friends, who are meat eaters, loved their dishes as well--especially the Premium Fresh-Cut American Wagyu Chuck. We ended up finishing everything because the food was so outstanding. Overall, both the food and the service exceeded expectations. Whether you're a meat lover or a vegan, you'll find plenty of delicious options here. The convenient Midtown Manhattan location--close to the subway and PATH train--makes it a great choice for both locals and visitors coming in from New Jersey.

We popped in while running around NYC in the cold and wanted hot pot. The flavor of the mala broth was really good and rich, from the orange bars they add. Felt more homemade vs just mass produced broth. My negatives were really only the price which was fairly expensive for non AYCE and the limited sauce bar, which they make you pay for and was weaker than alternatives. We got the ribeye which was like 6 slice of meat for $30, which was a little surprising. Would return!

Came here with friends on a Friday night. The restaurant is mid-sized with a tasteful decor, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. For the broth, we tried three flavors (pork bone, tomato, and spicy). The menu offers a good variety of ingredients. We enjoyed the beef, duck blood, shrimp paste, celtuce, and their jasmine soy milk tea. Everything was fresh, though portions felt a bit on the smaller side. Unfortunately, they were out of the desserts we wanted to try. The bill came to nearly $100 per person (after tax) for four of us, which is on the pricier side, but overall it was still an enjoyable experience.

Hot pot is my favorite food in the whole world. I am so glad we found this place. Was with a work friend and we met up with a friend of mine who lives in the area. Her first hot pot experience. We got the traditional spicy broth and the blackened chicken herbal broths. We got the fresh cut beef, tofu skin, and mixed veggies. Just perfection. Perfection. It's been over a month and there are tears in my eyes remembering the deliciousness. Good service. Clean and cozy. I want to come here every day.

Sis and I came during their soft opening. We yin-yanged a pot of Pork Bone Broth and Mala. Both were tasty. Like most recent upscale hot pot spots, the ingredients were all fresh, conveniently cut and well-prepared. However, I'm annoyed that they didn't have very good greens to choose from. How can a Chinese hot pot restaurant not offer napa cabbage, bok choy, yu choy, or any of the other classic dark leafy greens? We only got napa cababge through their seasonal veg plate, but that came with a bunch of items I didn't want. And the only green they really offered was lettuce, which I find disgusting when cooked--it always impacts the flavor of everything else. Their meat and seafood offerings were more robust. And I did appreciate the complimentary plate of American Wagyu they gifted us. However, I didn't love that they charge $3.99pp for the sauce bar (which also includes some small app/dessert choices). I don't know if it's these inflationary times, but more and more hot pot restaurants are charging for their sauce bars (looking at you, Shoo Loong Kan), and I'm not here for that. Service was very nice and friendly, as you would expect for a newcomer. The decor is Classical Chinese loveliness and should evoke vibes of being a hot pot-dipping Chinese empress.

Authentic Sichuan hot pot place, still in soft opening. I liked that 1) their ventilation is really good I didn't have to walk home smelling like a walking hotpot, 2) service was really good / place was clean, 3) some of their items were hard to find / higher quality than other hotpot places 4) their low spicy level beef tallow broth is actually low spicy! It's actually hard to find this - speaking as someone who has a low spicy tolerance. In term of the items - I liked their eel, beef aorta (really crunchy not too tough), chrysanthemum (茼蒿, was really fresh and tender unlike most places). I would pass on the fish or pork, both unmemorable. Also liked that their plum juice was not that sweet. Overall a good experience.

Glad to see hotpot in ktown! Solid spot but there were fruit flies flying around that kinda ruined the experience. Hope they can do something about that!

I stumbled upon this new hot pot place on google maps, and it turned out to be a wonderful experience! Beautiful interior, kind staff, and just a great ambiance. We ordered 3 different types of soup base: tomato, pork bone, and mala. They were all delicious, but my favorite is always tomato! They offer a wide selection of meats, veggies, seafood and sauces. I also love that they take reservations! Price is decent especially in Manhattan. Mt. ShooTao is a great addition to the neighborhood.

Food, ambience, and service are all excellent! It's not that easy to find a restaurant in New York with this kind of interior design and food quality.

This place is good and the meat tasted fresh and clean. The soup base was really good. They also gave us wet wipes after we ate and candy. I will definitely be coming back.

solid hotpot spot with good ambiance and great for families or groups of friends. a little pricy, especially for the produce, but all very tasty. while staff was polite and informative, we were seated close to the staff member in charge of making drinks. our drinks came well after our food, and after we prompted our server multiple times. the staff member in charge of drinks was on his phone, and only took pause when another staff member asked him to (this was for every single drink) The food came out very quickly and the options were all very tasty, especially the sauce bar I would return, but would definitely like better service on the drinks!

Jackie is the best manager! He takes great care of me and my friends whenever we come in. The best quality Hotpot in the city! Beautiful design inside too!

Very fresh meat and vegetables, good service, nice and clean environment. Will come again.
