My review won’t matter much. Because this place is busy, has good reviews, and caters to local families.
But we were so disappointed! The only way we would find ourselves back is if we are REALLY craving a beer after a long hike, for instance.
The place was packed with kids. Lots of them. So, if you’re looking for a place you can bring your parents and your kids, and your neighbors’ kids...for a family dinner, and don’t want to venture far, I suppose it beats McDonalds or Round Table.
The beer is awesome. Service was fine. And that’s it.
They use plastic straws. IN. EVERYTHING. Pretty pathetic for a restaurant that pitches themselves as sourcing locally (which to us means a certain level of awareness about sustainability, environmental concerns...not just “fresh” 🙄).
The pizza was bland at best, and extremely skimpy on toppings. And so overpriced!!! $30 for a pizza with about one to two slices of mushrooms per slice (no joke) and approx 6 small, pale leaves of basil for the entire pizza. Please know it’s rarely the price of the food that bothers us, but the lack of quality for the price at this restaurant was significant.
Server was pleasant. No complaints there.
If you’re looking for an easy place to pop into, grab a good beer, and the kids (and you) are happy with fries and pizza, then I suppose it’s ok. That’s all that matters to most of their regulars.
I just expected so much more for a place named Mt. Tabor.
And for Pete’s sake, Mt Tabor Brewing, please stop with the plastic straws. And filter the water!
