Yelp
I seldom give a 5-star rating, but Muelle 3 more than deserves it. The food is world-class, fresh, innovative, and delicious.
The oysters were among the freshest I've ever eaten, and the sashimi was transcendent, with ponzu sauce, a tiny bit of fresh ginger and even less Serrano chili, and a dusting of shichimi togarashi, amazing. Another dish not to be missed is the "pulpo con huitlacoche" (grilled octopus with corn fungus),which comes with a delicious salsa verde and a small container of habanero sauce that is to be avoided at all costs. Other small plates are also really good, and although we didn't order it, the small portion of house ceviche looked delicious and more than enough for two. Each table has a wooden box with a large assortment of hot sauces, so you can experiment with different tastes.
They have quite a beer list and an adequate wine list. We had a bottle of white Grenache that was quite good; the waiter told me the grapes come from France but they're aged and bottled in the Valle de Guadalupe, the local wine-growing region. Save some room for the lava cake, which is very rich and tasty as well.
Service was friendly and attentive. This is a very small place and it's only open from noon until 6:30pm, so get there early or you may have to wait. If you make the trip down to BC and go to Ensenada you cannot miss this place. It's also worth noting that lunch for four including a bottle of wine and tip came out to about $75 as of this writing, so it's quite affordable, too.
