I visited a very popular ramen shop that always seems to have a long line.
I arrived at 9:45 a.m. on a Monday for an 11:00 a.m. opening, and there were already four people waiting, which showed how popular the place is.
At 10:00 a.m., the staff set out seven chairs so people could sit while waiting, and they even provided parasols.
I appreciated this level of consideration for customers who had to wait.
As for the food, the Special Kuradashi Shoyu Soba was neither particularly good nor bad—just average overall.
The Special Iriko Soba left me wondering why shiso leaves and tomatoes were included.
The iriko (dried sardine) flavor was very strong, which may divide opinions.
Compared to the shoyu soba, it was slightly better, but not by a large margin.
On the other hand, the weekday limited Kuwana-grown natural clam(hamaguri) and mushroom shio soba was quite good.
The clam flavor was clear and satisfying, and being able to change the taste with truffle salt was a nice touch.
The eel mixed rice, however, was bland and did not leave much of an impression.
Overall, while the operation and the way they handle waiting customers are commendable, I am not convinced it is worth lining up for the food itself.
Personally, I did not feel a strong desire to return.
