MuJi Beef Noodles

The clear beef noodle soup here is absolutely delicious! The broth has a perfect balance of rich beef aroma, savory depth, and natural sweetness from the slow-braised beef. It’s incredibly smooth and easy to drink. The beef itself is generously portioned, tender yet pleasantly chewy, with just the right texture to highlight the quality of the meat. They offer two types of noodles: thin round noodles and Taiwanese knife-cut noodles, which are short and slightly thicker. Personally, I prefer the thin noodles as they absorb the broth beautifully and have a nice bite to them. The beef-filled rolled dough is also amazing—seems to be made with beef shank. The inside is coated with a savory-sweet soy sauce, making each bite incredibly flavorful. The combination of the chewy dough and the juicy beef creates a wonderfully satisfying texture. The small side dishes here are also great! There’s a wide variety to choose from, and the selection changes daily, so you never get bored.

This is a very popular noodle shop right next to the Taipei Medical University Hospital. The soup is excellent, rich with a slight sweetness in its flavor. The noodle is very special, its machine made but has a very interesting texture when chewed. It’s really good. But this is let down by the beef which is too dry and tough. 4.3 stars out of 5. The score would be a lot higher if the beef can be improved. Let’s hope they do.

Of the five beef noodle restaurant that I visited during my trip this one was the best, however not the cheapest. Concerning the beef noodle soup, the beef was not as soft and tender than in some of the other restaurants but the broth was superb and with the best flavour among all restaurants that I tried. Also, the thick noodles were the best of all restaurants that I tried. They have a chewy biang biang quality. The side dishes were similarly good.

Best beef noodle soup I’ve ever had. Get the dark broth. Worth the trek! They were super nice to us, accommodated my allergies, and let us order a single dish too. Don’t listen to the negative reviews.

Excellent beef noodle soup. Melt in your mouth beef and broth that warms you up full of flavor. If I have a chance I will come back. The waitress helped me pick the dish I wanted and despite not having an English menu, Google translate did the trick. No wonder this has a Michelin recommendation.

Everything is great, except I think the dried beef noddles is not 5-star as I expected. The traditional beef noddles with hot broth is much better.

Great place for braised beef noodles. Stock tasty the Taiwanese way and not too oily. Meat super tender, noodles really wonderfully chewy. No English menu available when we visited but pictured menu available. Shop very clean. We would happily return again.

The basement was a little cold but it was intentional. Just wait till your hot bowl of soup noodles gets to you. The food was great. I believe most will order the soy based broth. You can't really appreciate the Taiwanese beef until you try the clear broth noodles. Wow! That's something you can't find anywhere else world wide. I put down all this food and 2 bowls of noodle soup. Enjoy!

They are located next to the Taipei Medical School hospital and a busy traditional street market, may be 10-15min on foot from the closest MRT station. We came here early and waited for them to open. A few more customer came and formed a small line. Their beef noodle soup is pretty good and what stood out is their beef tendon. Beef was a bit tough and certainly not up to par against other shops. But their tendon is the best.

Excellent red braised beef noodle soup. I prefer this over Yongkang beef noodle soups and a few other famous ones my relatives took me to. The side dishes were great. I preferred this one to the clear soup, but my Aunt liked the clear both. The restaurant isn't near the MRT and is located within a busy market street. The location is near Taipei Medical School Hospital. The service is typical of most beef noodle shops like this. You come here for the good and not the service or ambiance.

This is a spot I'd definitely recommend for someone visiting Taipei to hit up. Best combination of really well made knife cut noodles, lots of good cuts of tender beef and perfectly seasoned broth (both consommé and braised). We made a return trip here a few days later because it was seriously so good! The employees here don't speak English, but they do have a condensed menu featuring the top 15 items with photo and English translation; just ask for it. The lady that helped us on our first visit was extremely friendly and helpful. I had the clear consommé broth and the fiancé had the famous Taiwanese braised beef broth. The were both delicious, but I thoroughly enjoyed the clear broth as it was so savory and clean tasting. The noodles were cooked to perfection; honestly if I knew how to say extra noodles in Mandarin, I'd have ordered it. We had the beef rolls as well, but opted for the pancakes by itself the second time around (which was way better). I think we were a bit beefed out by how much beef they give you in the soup that the beef in the rolls were overkill. I did see someone complain about the pricing being high, but the pricing is roughly the same as other beef noodle places. This one might be 20-30 NTD higher but that's nothing when you compare to how much beef you get here, not to mention that they are great cuts if beef without all the extra sinewy stuff. Second time around, I skipped the tendon and tripe and went straight for only beef; highly recommend getting just the beef in the clear broth. This place isn't really close to any major night markets or popular attractions; about a 12 minute walk from Taipei 101.

Beef noodle soup had a lot of cilantro and not enough noodles. Also no spice in the broth. Beef wrapped in pancakes were not fried but baked so there was no oil in the pancakes. Also they weren't scallion pancakes as theu had no scallions and were thus flavorless. Only the hoisen sauce gave it a sweet taste.

Not a fan. The beef is overcooked when I visited, and the texture was dry and tough. Tendons on the other hand were inconsistent. Some pieces were just soft enough, while the others were still tough. Noodles were the thick flat kind, which is an interesting pairing with the broth. It provided an interesting texture than the ubiquitous thin ones that the locals seemed to love so much. It's was chewy and it soaked up the broth well There was no vegetable in the beef noodles, which was a little surprising. Instead there was a whole lot of chopped green onions, and i mean a lot. May come back when I'm in the area, but won't miss it if never get to have it again.

This place is a must go if you are in Taipei (and obviously if you live in this amazing country) I've made it a tradition to come to this Beef noodle soup joint every time I'm in the city. Taiwan is well known for their delicious noodles and this restaurant really knows what they're doing. They made their noodles fresh right in front of you, as well as a plethora of doughy bread like eats. Side dishes are ready made inside the fridge and are absolutely a must try dish! (Any dish, all if you can finish it)

Great beef noodle soup. Broth good. Not spicy. Noodles nice and thick. You can request how hard or soft you want the noodles to be. Also tried that beef in pastry. Don't know what it's called. You need to go with a person who can read Chinese. No English menu.

3.5 stars. I was randomly craving beef noodles and the gf wasn't really complaining either. We arrived on a Sunday evening to find it semi-busy. There's upstairs seating and downstairs. Downstairs is much much cooler since the kitchen is on the first floor and pretty open. I ordered the flagship beef noodle soup with thick noodles, gf got the clear broth with clear noodles. Personally, I thought the soup was very heavy in flavor and a little bit on the salty and oily side though. Normally, beef excretes a lot of oil, but this bowl was a little overboard with the half mm of oil above the soup. The noodles weren't bland and the beef was also very good. We also ordered the beef rolls and those were off the chain. Best I've had in awhile. However, 190NT price tag? That's how much a normal bowl of beef noodles costs! My main gripe with my order was that it really didn't feel like a lot of food. For 220NT, I got what felt like a third of a serving of noodles, but plenty of beef. Normally, it's the other way around, more noodles and not a lot of beef. I was finished with my noodles and beef before I even realized! Luckily, I ordered the beef rolls which filled me up. Overall, 600NT+ for two bowls of noodles and beef rolls is way over budget for most on a local salary. I'm not sure if the store won some kind of award to back the reason for their price, but it's quite odd to see beef noodles this expensive. For those visiting Taiwan, it's no dent in the wallet. Despite the price, place is veeery clean, service was quick and the employees were nice too! Seemed like a major tourist spot since there was more people speaking other languages than mandarin!

Very good local beef noodle restaurant, not sure if they have English manu. My favorite is 紅燒牛筋肉麵 (粗麵條), you can also try it.

One of my favorite beef noodle places, especially for their clear soup (清湯) which is full of garlic and cilantro. Their brisket and tendons are chunky unlike the thinly sliced variety you usually get.They recently remodeled adding a fresh coat of paint to their exterior, prices went up mildly as well. Their side dishes are nice, especially when the have bitter melon. Their beef roll is made fresh to order as well. Solid.

Loved the beef tender noodles. I preferred the clear soup better than the heavier sauce one. But both were very good.

I really loved the clear broth beef noodle soup here. It's the best one I have had so far. The braised one was also good but it's not as good as other places. The price is also a little bit high.

Skipped the spicy beef noodle soup. The sesame noodles are terrific, the vegetables fresh and tasty. Nice cool air too, which goes nicely with spicy noodles.
