Mullen's Sports Bar & Grill

Today was the first time I had Dine-in. The bartender was polite she greet me right when coming in. The tables felt very sticky. I visited on a Wednesday which is 1/2 price on all pizzas. First time trying their pizzas unfortunately the pizzas were not good at all the cheese had a weird taste to it. Now I know I will only stick to their traditional wings which are actually very good.

This is the quintessential sports bar. I came in curious about the wings and was blown away when I tried them out. Unbelievable flavor and a nice texture. Probably the most memorable wings of my life. Great prices on drinks, too. Check it out!

We were a little bit skeptical about the ratings on a sports bar for food but stopped in for lunch and the food was really good. There were 25-35 people there and the bartender/hostess/waitress said it was busier than a normal Monday but she was saying hello and taking care of everyone quickly all with a smile. We definitely recommend the Spicy Asian Salad...the flavors and textures were great and the burgers and fries were very good as well

One of the worst sports bars I've been to trasshhhh service. Took 20 min to get my first beer. Took another 15 min after my second beer was finished. Bartender even passed by me to ask some other people if they're doing ok. Joke of a bar for sure. The owner is terrible as well walks around trying to look busy. Had some girl leave next to me at the bar after not being attended to. Don't come here unless you have no choice. Only the regulars would like this bum place

Great local bar with plenty of screens for sports, and darts and billiards for fun. Being vegetarian, I had plenty of options on the menu. I got the beyond burger with fries and it was great. My wife got fish tacos that were also fantastic (ok so technically I'm a pescatarian). And to wash it all down was a nice half acre hazy IPA, and there is a really good selection of domestic and other craft beers on tap. Good food and atmosphere, friendly service, and it won't break the bank.

Unfortunately, the food is awesome!! The customer service is trash! When I place an order it is always something wrong with the order! When I place it for delivery or pickup…Every time! I still place the order..The only reason why I order is because the Caribbean jerk wings are great!!! But the way they treat their customers and argue with a customer when they are wrong!! I ordered 18 wings and received 12 wings! All I said was to correct the order because the order came out to $40.98. Angela proceeds to tell me that I am the problem every time I call in for an order. I order often and get the same order every time. There is no need for me to lie about something I paid for! Again the food is great it’s the staff that makes things difficult. It’s sad that I spend my money and I am being looked at like I am the problem! $40 for 18 wings but receive 12 is not cool at all! God sees all and knows all! I’m not going to let 6 wings get me in a bunch! However, I know that when you spend your money you want your money worth for a product! It’s a shame that the conversation went the way it did and she expressed how she felt about me anytime I placed an order.

stopped here for dinner after going to the nearby laundromat. definitely an older crowd here. very chill place. when we went it seemed only a couple people were working but the server did her best to check in on us and everyone else. I got the Black Mamba wrap and really enjoyed it! The avocado was creamy, the chicken was cooked well, the dressing was tasty, and all the other fixings paired well in the wrap. It came with a side of fries which I enjoyed. They were soft rather than crispy but I didn’t mind. We parked in the street parking across the street. I believe it was free or at least we didn’t pay haha. I’ll keep this place in my rotation. Absolutely recommend this place for good food!

What a very spacious bar to play darts!! I didnt go to play but maybe next time. I specifically went to try the award winning wings!! I tried their most popular sauce cheesy garlic buffalo. The wings themselves were good!! Their weren't spicy and I didnt get much of the garlic or cheese flavor but it was still good it tasted like regular buffalo. The fried pickles were ok for me it had a little too much breading. Il stick to some fries next time.. I appreciated the waitress though, I was watching YOU while eating and she still stop by to see how was I..Thank you!!

This is my local walk to pub. I am so glad they are have been there for a long time. Their staff is amazing and menu with beverage is always tasty and not disappointing. They can host small dinner to big gatherings. They do love sports so come and join us for Sunday night football and any other occasion.

Came here a few times, and it seems like a basic neighborhood bar. It's convenient for those going up Western in Rogers Park. Mullen's has lots of good beer and liquor, and some okay food too. For sure service can be slow, even when it's not busy here. There's lots of TVs, making it a good place for watching games or whatever. Basically it's a neighborhood bar. It doesn't look like anything that special, just a place to hang out and watch games. The beer selection is pretty good though. It often has a draft on special for $3 or about. There's a nice choice of local craft beers too. As for the food, it's not all bad. Of course there's the typical bar stuff like greasy fries and wings. Also healthier options like the Hummus Dip. It's $11 for a big portion of hummus with pitas and vegetables. Also there's burgers. They have an Impossible Burger for plant based eating. Has room inside for big gatherings, and for a bar it's pretty clean. It has good drink specials and both greasy and healthy food. This is one of those sports bars with tons of televisions.

Great sports bar with above average bar food. Friendly staff and you're sure to be able to see most any broadcast game you like.

Good neighborhood bar & grill. We were in this neighborhood looking at new places to live and decided to stop in to Mullen's..... which seems to be the best choice in this vicinity. It looks like a total dive bar, but felt very comfortable inside. It's the kind of place that seemed like everyone sort of knew each other. The menu said they have "Award Winning" wings.....unfortunately I didn't get to try them. We ordered The Irish Burger and a Reuben....both were very good. I'd like to go back again and try the wings. The food and service were both good, but I have 1 main issue which is probably the only reason I'm not giving 5 stars. I ordered my burger medium and it was really more medium well or well done. I usually let that slide because I'd rather it be overcooked than under. What bothered me was that wasn't the only issue. We ordered sweet potato tater tots and got regular instead. I mentioned it to our server and he put in the order again for the sweet potato ones. They came out when we were already finishing up, so we didn't eat them.....but we still got charged for them. My recommendation is if you mess up the order then comp it....dont bring it out last minute and still charge us for it. It wasn't crowded and it was just 2 of us ordering 2 meals....so if there's 2 mistakes I have to ask that they review their process. I'm still giving 4 stars as I thought it was a decent place.

Met up at this quaint neighborhood sports bar to celebrate a graduation. Marie was welcoming and friendly. The wings are good. Beers cold, they have a pool table. Relax atmosphere. We enjoyed ourselves. Thanks Marie

A friend of mine had a horrible encounter at this bar, and was met with transphobic treatment from the patrons and staff. Really disappointed, as we loved going to Mullens before. Not sure when I'll feel comfortable coming back, if ever.

this place is pathetic. they save liquor bottles and fill with fake liquor. don't pay for top shelf! it's fake! and I saw the cooks picking their noses without gloves then proceed to cook without gloves as well. don't bother. there are way better places to give your money to.

Unhappy about the service at this place. We ordered mayonnaise & ranch on the side. The server looked dismayed that I requested for these items. He made a point to say that IT IS EXTRA charge. Sure enough they charge $1 each for small (tiny) size of mayonnaise & ranch. Definitely, will not come back to this place.

Pretty average wings that can be found in any local bar. I do appreciate these weren't those unappetizing jumbo wings. These were the perfect size. There's a lot of reviews proclaiming Mullen's awesomeness. I suspect the folks running the bar are really good at making the bar a cool hangout. I'll try again to experience the vibe first-hand. For now. ..3.4 stars for the wings.

For a neighborhood bar, this place is great. They play UFC fights, which brings my boyfriend and I here on a monthly basis. The place is fairly large, but if there's a fight on, you'll need to get there around 9-9:30 to ensure a seat. They also have a pool table and a bunch of dart boards if that's your thing- pretty sure they have a league too. As for food and drinks, I've never had something I didn't like. The domestic drafts are $3 on Saturday nights, which is generally when we come. I would highly recommend if you are looking for a neighborhood bar.

My friends and I were in the mood for some hot wings and came across Mullen's. We got their original sauce and it was pretty good. We also ordered their loaded French Frys. They were a little on the greasy side but not bad.

Food was ok. My fries were hard, husband didn't finish his Mac & Cheese (that cost extra) cause he just found it bad. Not the worst. But not worth the money it cost.

I was running errands with my niece on a Tuesday. We decided we wanted great bar food, sandwiches burgers, the usual. We found a listing for Mullen's. I cannot wait to go back. I had the Reuben and she had a burger. Huge portions and delicious!!!! Excellent fries. Service from Gabby was super. I can't wait to try something else. Huge selection of beers and everything on the menu sounds great

Ordered: Mac and cheese, calamari rings, chicken fingers, wings FOOD: The Mac and Cheese is awesome here, when I first received it, it looked a bit soupy, but the texture and taste was just fine upon eating. Calamari rings are lightly breaded and very crispy... just the way I like them. The Wings are phenomenal. So many flavors to choose from, and they are all great. My favorite two flavors are caribbean jerk and cheesy buffalo. They have a wing special on Wednesdays. PRICING: Be sure to clarify the pricing of drinks beforehand, as the specials' schedule can sometimes get confusing. ATMOSPHERE: Very much a neighborhood bar. No one really bothers you, and the waitstaff are friendly.

Mullen's has always been my go to bar when my hubby wants to watch a game or if we want some inexpensive drinks. The wings are delicious as they have a variety like teriyaki, spicy buffalo, bbq, cheesy garlic, Caribbean among many others. I personally enjoy the pulled pork slides as the bbq is the perfect amount of sweetness and they add Merktz cheese on top, what a treat! You must also try the mac and cheese which comes in spiral noodles with the creamiest cheese sauce. I could eat a bucket of this stuff. The staff is friendly and very attentive (depending on how busy though). There is a full bar with plenty of draft options, pool table and many dart boards on the wall.

Ordered takeout here when our usual pub food place was closed. Didn't have the highest expectations tbh, but they were far exceeded! Everything was great, even after half an hour in to go boxes. The chicken caesar salad was very good, despite just being a salad! The sweet potato tots were delish, as were all 4 flavors of wings that we got. The wings were substantial and really well cooked. Everything was a pretty reasonable price too. I was so surprised and SO enjoyed everything that I can't wait to go back and try some other items next. Glad I stumbled on this place!

Whenever I show up in the hood to visit people i know sometimes in order to get a breather from the parents and people like that, this place has come in handy over the years. Back when I was a new drinker and I still lived at home I could stumble out of here, be completely s faced and still make it back. Now yes it is true alot more people used to show up here. Maybe the neighborhood age demographics have changed and so it is not as busy as it used to be. on my last visits i have been able to drink copious amounts of vodka and cranberry, diet cokes, fish and chips and then also be able to hijack the juke box and play bad music or music that you would listen to in 1989 without too many people judging me. In fact if you are concerned about your health, you should know that if you do order too many orders of fish and chips, that St Francis Hospital is only a few blocks away. You know when by accident you play " you belong to the city " too many times in one hour,right? Far away from the city lights is this neighborhood gem that you can come to to feel at home in peace

Mullen's is my go to bar for just about any occasion. I go here for wings, sandwiches and drinks. The staff is great, service is always on point and the food is always delicious. They also have a great variety of drinks. With a pool table, darts and a lot of TVs, this is an awesome sports bar. I will continue to go here often Thanks

I went online to check out their menu. There was a disclaimer that your check may be subject to an 18% service charge. WTF!!! I ain't never gonna go, to a place that has an 18% service charge!!!

First visit and, as it's apmost 130 am, it's officially Thanksgiving. At 1am, after their last call, they still made us wings. To your average patron, this might seem standard. Being in the service industry, I can tell you it's a pain in the ass. (I was ok with the kitchen being closed, one of my fellow patrons, also in the service industry, made the request.) The request was not only honored, but honored with Grace and tact. I'd recommend this place based on that alone ( but please don't pull the bullshit we pulled, we're inconsiderate assholes) but this place gets 5 stars for their awesome selection of beer, great atmosphere and music.

Wonderful neighborhood bar where everyone seems to know one another. They offer great bar food and healthy dishes as well. Staff is very friendly and offer great service.

You know the wings aren't bad. I mean I live in a sort of dead man's land as far as bar food is concerned. In short we suffer from a lack of options. Mullen's really is it, if you want food and brew. And the wings really are legit. I mean you could drive a half hour into the city and get the same thing in Wrigleyville, then pay for parking and experience the issues that come with that. Or you could visit Mullens and enjoy their flatscreens and bar games. I'd probably watch UFC here but I have a face people love to punch so I won't. Blessed...

Came here for a UFC fIght night. I had fun and the service was good given how busy they were. The food though, that's what surprised me the most. I had a burger I believe it was the western and it was delicious. I was expecting a typical bar food burger but I was pleasantly surprised. The burger was seasoned well, bacon crispy, toppings fresh and the home made chips were crazy good. I'll come again.

I haven't had good wings in a while. So I went to a place in my new hood after hearing some good things. Mullens is your typical neighborhood sports bar. You come here to drink beer, watch sports, and play darts. Myself, just give me wings and Cider and I'm good. So now to the wings, of course everything will be compared to Birds Nest of course. It might not be fair but I'm looking for a spot to transcend that pedestal and surprise me. Mullens did not surprise. They were ok wings of good size. The meat was reasonably tender but the right sauce separates the studs from the duds. Mullens sauce was unspectacular. It just tasted like they shook them up with some bottled hot sauce like Frank's. I even asked if they made their own sauce, she (our waitress) smiled with a resounding "Yes. The creative juices were not flowing when they concocted that recipe. There are billions of places around Chicago with wings like these. I'm looking for those that stand out a little. I did satisfy my craving for wings but I did not get the surprise I wanted.

Tuesday nights and UFC fight nights with bartender Nicole are the best! She makes great drinks and provide high quality customer service. She is very friendly and easy to talk to. She recommended the Jerk sauce for the wings and the wings were amazing!! 5 stars!

This bar has become a go to spot for me since it is just a block away from my apartment. Yet to try the food menu but I mainly go here for the pool table and drinks. This place is spacious! It has bar seating and dinner tables both. Fun hangout place for a group and can work for an intimate setting as well since it's not too loud. Drinks are decent, full bar, well priced, but do not expect craft cocktails out of here. They have plenty dart boards and TV's playing sports, one pool table. Chilled out, fun quiet atmosphere, no one bothers you, extremely easy parking, overall a great and clean neighborhood bar. Win win!!

NEW specials! They just got a new menu (best stuff stayed). All of the old specials are gone now. I came today for 2$ burgers & it has been replaced with 1/2 off wraps & salads. Luckily they have some pretty yummy sounding wraps. $1 off all beers on Thursdays. They ARE open for lunch.

This place is hit or miss. I've been at least 8 times usually for boxing or ufc fights cause they're always playing them. Sometimes they'll charge a cover, sometimes they have a table minimum. Food is decent, nothing great but okay for bar food. Typical beer is like $6-7 and you'll spend $12 or so on food per person. They have a pool table, darts and lots of TV's plus plenty of seating.

Enjoyed my brief visit here. A nice neighborhood bar. Drinks weren't expensive and were generously mixed. Couldn't try the food but i can tell this is a nice place to watch sports. A lot screens everywhere. There's a pool table that's free of charge, you have to put your name down and turns are then taken in order. One thing that stood out for me where the line of dart boards. That was a really cool touch and should i indulge in the art of darts someday, then perhaps i will return.

Great food, drinks, ambiance, and most importantly excellent service is what you're going to experience at Mullen's. When you have a combination of all of the above you can't ask for more. It wasn't until recently that we returned to this gem thanks to our amazing server Nicole! She greets you with a smile, remembers your favorite drink, and recommends items on the menu. Nicole's easy going spirit, quality customer service, and dedication only speaks volume of this establishment! Went here early on a Friday evening with family, including two tweens. Great beer selection, solid food (I got a veggie burger, which seemed a potentially dangerous move, but it was great), every sport you could want on the many TVs, and a mixed crowd that was fun to be among. Waitstaff was lovely, too. At 6 pm anyway, it's the kind of neighborhood pub that's great for a family meal.

It's 2018 get a new card system or at the least be a decent server and ask if we want separate checks. Even if you don't have a computer you can still stay organized and split checks from the beginning. Instead we spend 15 minutes doing math and doing your job. Food is mediocre. Service is less than friendly.

Pretty good food for a bar. Love coming here for UFC, they offer multiple TV's and no cover. The beer specials are good and they have a good selection. The servers are always supper nice. Downside, no parking.

I had no idea that the place I gave a lackluster review about in Lisle was related to the (soon to be) lackluster review in Rogers Park, and also a (probably) lackluster place in Wrigleyville. The layout of the place is different from the one in the west 'burbs, there's a huge area for darts-it seems like a dart players heaven as well as a free pool table. Okay, cool, get to the table where my friends are already and felt pretty stupid that I didn't put two and two together and realize that Mullen's-Lisle would probably be related to Mullen's-Rogers park. Anyway, I get there and see that their beer selection was okay, actually not as good as the one in the burbs, but decent enough. Our waitress was pretty...well she was just pretty bad, slow service, when she came to check up on us we barely had enough time to say we're fine before she moved on. As far as the place goes, I think they had a dart league or something. I believe it was the annoying drunk league because every once in a while there would be a loud scream from hitting the mark and then just a loud chest bump from two dudes who probably just had their physical activity for the week. 1 am and just nothing but loud annoying guys throwing sharp objects near me, with an okay beer selection and pretty bad service? Yeah, no thanks.I'll go somewhere else.

I had a craving for corned beef and cabbage, and Mullen's delivered, literally and figuratively. At first I thought perhaps the meal wouldn't be large enough to fill me up. (The picture mislead me.) So good and so filling!!

My cousins are regulars at this place and they always seem to have a good time. Every Friday night, we all meet up here to play darts. It felt like a place for regular locals, but just recently they've added kareoke on Fridays. Kareoke seems to have increased their number of customers. The excitement and encouragement from everyone there keeps the singers going! I recommend this bar! By the way.. the chicken wings and hummus is very good here.

I love mullens!! They have such amazing tater tots, Mac and cheese, AND wings! I go to mullens very often with my boyfriend, and we never walk out disappointed. The service is great, and the food is delicious. I highly recommend this bar.

Reviewing the 50 cent wings special on Wednesdays. So worth the trek! Would love to venture into the other items on the menu. The sandwiches especially sound fun.

Good place to watch the UFC PPV events with a group of friends. I have been here a couple of times so I don't really remember what I ordered tbh. The food was good and the TV placement is awesome. The lighting of the whole place was kind of dark but it did not bother me.

Check out the other reviews, this place is a lively good time. Very local in the sense that there are many local regulars, its a neighborhood bar. I attended High school closeby, so I've bumped into alot of old friends, etc. Even though you might feel out of place upon entrance, the staff and customers are welcoming. A wall full of free dart boards and a free pool table. Always good drinks specials, which can be seen online. (Though, they haven't updated the site recently. ) They also own the afterhours bar located just across the street(Mark II) brings alot of the local college crowds. They have food, burgers are decent and filling. I stay away from the pizza, it looks like its Jewel brand. I've thrown a few open bar parties, the packages are very reasonable. Management, very helpful. Lots of TV's, lively, music isn't too loud and they will take requests, not bright and not too dimly lit. If you are looking to do a party, even if you only have 5 people, they will accommodate, check out the rates. I believe you ask for Renee. Its a good time.

Great local dive bar. If you want to go to a bar that isnt that crowded has good food and cheap drinks this is the place. Theres alotta locals in here who have been coming for years. The free pool table and darts is a plus as well. The bartenders are all great especially Terry, shell take good care of you! Only negatives is the location kinda sucks, and the decor inside is kinda dull, not much music inside, and can be pretty empty on "busy nights" Although if u go with a group of friends for a chill night out youll deffinetly not regret it!

This is my neighborhood go to spot. With a lack of great bars in the are, particularly dive bars, you pretty much have a few choices within walking distance of my place. Mullen's has the essentials, decent bar food, decent food and drink specials, pool table, darts and plenty of TVs with multiple games. It took several years for this Mullen's location to finally get their act together on the TV situation. For so many years there were no HD signals for the flat screens. It was pretty ridiculous that to watch any game, especially football or hockey you had to deal with crappy pictures. Well, finally someone wised up and got a few new TVs and HD signals. Now, I can come here every weekend for the Bears game. As far as the food goes, it's hit or miss. What you are guaranteed to get are some of the best wings in the city, hands down. I've been a avid fan of Buffalo Joes but they have fallen off and gotten more expensive. Mullen's wings are cooked to perfection, big and meaty and with a variety of sauces (cheesy garlic are the best, or you can get jerk, teryaki, hot, mild, BBQ, etc) so this is your best bet, $0.35 wings on Wednesday, half price apps on Monday (including wings), $2 burgers or brats & $1 hot dogs on Sundays, along with other specials. Outside of the wings, the burgers are mediocre but fine on special and other sandwiches are edible to tasty. The best sandwich which I often get is the Sante Fe with grilled chicken, peppers, onions, & jack cheese. Other apps are standard bar food so nothing spectacular. The chips and salsa is pretty good and a fair bet at $4. The only issue I really have with the menu is the price of the basket of fries or tots. For some reason Mullen's thinks it's reasonable to charge $6 for a basket of tots. Now, it's a big basket but it's pricey for a bar like this. Just create a small and a large to give people options. Same with the fries. As far as beer goes, it's not the best selection. Typical for a dive bar type place but Mullen's goes for the sports bar atmosphere mixed in with the local crowd. Mullen's could really use a craft beer or two, just a Half Acre or Metropolitan to keep it local. However, the best beer you're going to get is a Sam Adams or Newcastle. Luckily, I'm not a beer snob and I can drink High Life all day. Service is fairly good and attentive, even on game days. Everyone is pretty pleasant and you can strike up a convo with most people who work there. Make sure to have an extra $1 to rent some darts or put your name on the board to play pool.

Ey... this is a gem nestled in a veritable food wasteland, save for the Bakers Sq up the street. I come here to hustle pool and slam root beers until my diabetes kicks in. Its a nice little place to shoot some FREE! pool or throw some FREE! darts at your lunch break. The server / bartender is always super nice. I recommend: Goat cheese w toast: great for a bar, always a slam dunk Buffalo Chicken wrap: grilled so its good for you, on a spinach tortilla w slaw & fries Western Ave burger: get this if you only plan on eating this today, its enormous and filling. IBC Rootbeer out of a bottle; Do not get a fountain drink or water, it tastes like straight up bar cleaner. I would normally knock a star down for that, but the free pool and really polite service and about 400 TV's more than make up for it.
