The 5 Best Things To Eat In Helen, Georgia During Oktoberfest

"Fried Cheese Kebob & Fried Cheesecake  Mueller’s is memorable for doing some things other spots in Helen aren’t. For starters, they’ve got Czech dishes like goulash and bread dumplings. And they’ve also elevated fried cheese to a must-have entree instead of a forgettable app. Get the hand-breaded fried cheese kabob (a mix of brie, mozzarella, and cheddar) for epic cheese pulls. Just don’t ask us why it’s served with tartar sauce instead of marinara or anything way more compatible. And if that’s not enough cheese, finish off your meal with their warm, gooey fried cheesecake. Is all this worth the hour-long wait to sit in the cramped dining area? That all depends on how much you love cheese. " - demarco williams, juli horsford

The food on the photos looks better than it! tastes. We as a Czech originally born group of friends were so excited to go to this restaurant to taste home. Well. From all the dishes we got - the only acceptable was fried cheese. The food was tasteless, very expensive, without any flavor to it. Dumplings were like a brick. It never ever happened to me that I didn’t finished or even ate 85% off my plate which was almost $30. For a food we were waiting forever. After 4 people out of our group were happy to got our meals another 2 were waiting at least for another 15 minutes. We were overcharged and needed to bring that up. They also added $27 tip for us. So family of 3 - 2 - waters & 1 coke zero, 1 appetizer of cheese kebob, 1 duck, 1 goulash (which looke it was frozen before) and 1 Schweinebraten with Red Cabbage, Sauerkraut, and Bread Dumplings cost us whopping $177. Never ever again. Yes they gave us $30 cash back for a duck they added to our bill.

Ate lunch here today. Not exactly impressed. The saving grace was the apple strudel. The appetizer was basically a mozzarella stick and the “duck” tasted like chicken. I have eaten plenty of duck and never thought it tasted like chicken.

My wife and I enjoyed dinner here. The service was great! She had German Chicken Schnitzel Sandwich with Potato Salad. She said the Chicken Sandwich was good but wasn't a fan of the Potato Salad. I had the Mozzarella Stuffed with Ham and potato salad. The Mozzarella Stuffed with Ham was ok, but I didn't care for the potato salad. There are several gluten-free options, so I'll try something else next time we go.

It's okay. The service was very slow. The waitress would disappear for quite some time, and it was quite a wait for food, for the check, getting their attention, etc. The food was just okay. The fried cheese sandwich wasn't good. It needs something added to it. My daughter didn't care for the chicken noodle soup, which is very unusual for her. Just meh

A group of 6 of us came to dine here, because it’s one of the restaurant that offers gluten free food for one of our members. Unfortunately they also don’t offer beer or alcohol at the establishment. Overall the food was okay, nothing special in taste or quality. The service was very slow and they also ran out of some items on their menu. The pretzel was similar to ones you get a movie theater and fries came out cold. I will say, the fried mozzarella cheese that some people got, they absolutely enjoyed it. If I were to come back… it would be to try that item alone. This place has seating for families and out doors seatings for the pups.

Such wonderful staff working here, super friendly and absolutely delicious food and drinks. We ate breakfast, then came back for an afternoon frappe and frozen lemonade. Best frappe in Helen. 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Went here for brunch on our 3rd day in Helen. My husband got the German sausage breakfast and I got the pork cordon blue. After having 3 other German meals at 3 different locations, this was our least memorable. His sausage was good, eggs cook fine, potatoes-meh, saurkraut- good, but just ok compared to others, cordon-blue-delicious, red cabbage 🤢no sweetness OR vinegar… just plain red cabbage cooked with LOTS OF caraway or fennel, potato salad- bland, but ok, and spaetzle noodle- plain/boiled -no butter or seasoning to speak of. Servers were ok- but very scattered and chaotic as soon as more people started arriving. Would not return with so many other good choices in town!

We enjoyed our dining experience here. We got the cheese skewer as an app. Big! We didn’t finish between the two of us but it was good. We enjoyed the chicken schnitzel sandwhich & bratwurst. My husband loved the sauerkraut! Service was good. We dined outside.
