Get Into the St. Patrick’s Day Spirit Early at These NYC Spots | Eater

"Close to Grand Central, this Murray Hill pub is an easy first (or last) pub crawl stop if you’re commuting into Manhattan for the holiday. Head here for classic cocktails made with Jameson, like an Old Fashioned, Manhattan, hot toddy, or Irish coffee made with Jameson — or better yet, order a Jameson straight-up alongside some corned beef and cabbage." - Lee Musho

15 NYC Bars To Watch Women’s Soccer This Summer | Eater

"A known hangout of the Cloud 9 supporters club, and therefore the most pertinent spot for watching the U.S. team go all the way. Additionally it’s a Viking Army bar, making this the most American haven available to get that “U! S! A!” chant going without fear of repercussion. Mulligan’s has vowed to show as many games as it can live while airing the rest as soon as feasible. The menu here is short, simple, and satisfying: the chicken pot pie flexes Indian curry influences, while a genuine pastie tempts you to cheat on the sausage rolls." - Brendan McGinley

AMAZING service!! Great atmosphere, food is fantastic. You definitely need to come here and check it out. Guinness is amazing. Some of the best we have had. The steak nachos and they are by far the BEST nachos we have ever had. My partner loved the chicken curry and NY strip was great too. Andrew who is the bartender is bloody brilliant. Provided great friendly service. He’s super helpful and great to chat to. Served us and looked after everything. He helped to make our night amazing. Thank you all for giving us some great memories of our trip to NYC. Newcastle united fans are loved in here….even though it’s a Liverpool bar haha

Google
Honestly, we came because our flight was late and their kitchen is open until 2am. Food was good. Full bar. It was very loud, but maybe I’m just old😂.

Google
Absolutely love this place! The atmosphere is brilliant proper cozy and welcoming, just like a real Irish pub. The bartenders are Irish and super friendly, which made it feel even more like home. I got the chicken curry Irish style, and honestly, it’s the closest I’ve had to an Irish curry since I’ve moved from Ireland. My partner had the Black Jack Burger and the Bang Bang Shrimp, and both were an easy 10/10. If you’re looking for great food, a proper pint, and a bit of that Irish charm, definitely check this place out!

Google
Atmosphere and service were great. It was nice to have a meal after a long day of walking and shopping. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. The food lacked seasoning and the meats we ordered were dry, the fries were over fried, the salad was the best part of the meal. The salad dressing was great and the salad tasted fresh and crunchy

Google
Mulligans was very nice after a day visiting a Museum. The waitress was very sweet and polite. Always checked in to make sure nothing was needed. The crowd watching the game added to the atmosphere and we had a great time. The food was also very good, I tried the spicy mayo and wasn’t happy, buts that’s just me. The Turkey Burger was still very good.

Google
Regular after work drink spot. Literally never disappoints. Had the burger 10/10. Had the burger 10/10. Tonight’s dish, tried the Steak ceaser salad which was really good. It was very large and very fresh. Service was amazing as always! Had an Irish mule, a green tea shot, and a bunch of large magners(my favorite cider). Atmosphere is a good time. Happy hour until 7pm!

Google
I love Andrew!! He’s amazing person who made delicious Cosmos!! Went here for a second time, definitely not the last since I just got a new job around the corner. This place will my new favorite place for these coming years!

Google
We paid $17 for an order of chicken tenders for my 3 year old. $17 for 3 chicken tenders. And additional $7 for a side of burnt fries. INSANE. Irish breakfast is severely overpriced as well for what is served. As an Irish person living in NY for over 20 years I’m familiar with what’s standard when it comes to an Irish breakfast even ordering out and this was an embarrassment to the establishment. This is obviously more of a drinkers bar than a place you’d choose to eat. But even then, the drinks were expensive at $9 for a glass of beer. I would never go back here based on today’s experience. Desperate.

Yelp
Mulligan's is exactly what you want in a no-frills, after-work Irish bar--lively, unpretentious, and reliably welcoming. It's the kind of place where you can unwind with coworkers, grab a pint of Guinness, and actually hear each other talk (most nights). The bartenders are quick and friendly, and there's a solid selection of beers on tap along with the usual pub fare. It's not trying to be trendy, and that's part of the charm. The crowd is a good mix of regulars, office folks, and tourists who happened to stumble in--everyone blends in. It's not fancy, and it doesn't need to be. Mulligan's nails the basics and delivers that cozy, familiar energy you look for in a true Irish pub. A solid go-to if you're in Midtown and want a cold drink without the scene.

Yelp
The corned beef was so old I was Afraid to eat it. The color was off for corned beef. How could this be sold to anyone. If I didn't live so far away I would take it back.

Yelp
Cold Guinness and a tasty burger on a Sunday evening after a long day of traveling. The AC inside was cold, sports were on the tellys, and the staff was friendly and attentive. What more could I have wanted...

Yelp
I was there for the first time on Thursday and the bartender's service was spectacular and she was very friendly. The samoan was the best food I've ever had. Thank you for providing good service. This is why I give the bartender 5 stars. You deserve it. Sincerely, Rolando.

Yelp
My family and I have been here numerous times because we love Catrina (hope I spelled it correctly) the bartender. She makes you feel at home, is super friendly and extremely attentive. It was very busy when we went and I heard numerous patrons state that she is the best bartender and that is why they go there too. We have had the food there previously, shepherd's pie baked potato skins, amazing. We didn't eat this time as they said the kitchen was closed. Kind of a bummer, but still great bar service. We will definitely be back again.

Yelp
This is your average dive/sports bar. Plenty of seating indoors and I think there is an upstairs. We had no food just beer and it did not taste right at all. We ordered a Narragansett's beer from the tap and it did not taste right. Not sure if I will be back but we just came across this place.
google avatar

Yelp
Average sports bar with table and bar seating. Not a bad place to watch a game with a smaller group.
google avatar

Yelp
Great service, it got pretty business and we where well taken care of. The food was good though the fish cutlet inside the breading was on the small side for fish and chips. Still tho given the area of the city I'm not bitchin about it. It was fair value. Clean place, kudos to Mulligan's I would go again.

Yelp
Strong drinks, friendly staff, nice pool table area in the back with darts and several televisions. There's a heavy soccer vibe. Overall fun place and great neighborhood bar!

Yelp
Following dismal treatment at a nearby restaurant, a hungry group of us wandered over to Mulligan's Pub and were immediately greeted by an Irish lass who accommodated our group by hastily cobbling together several tables. She took our drink orders and answered our menu questions. The group settled on orders of Philly cheesesteak, Shepards pie, Irish curried chicken and a cheeseburger. No one complained. I opted for a classic comfort food on a cold night; shepards pie ($20). Preceded by a bowl of potato & leek soup. Both were delicious and filling. The Shepards pie was a hearty helping of ground sirloin, peas, carrots and mashed potatoes. (MY take on the pie adds a layer of sharp cheddar cheese.) The soup was a good sized bowl served with grilled bread. I also picked on a shareable large plate of truffle parm fries and garlic aioli ($15). Don't miss these addictive fries. The interior of the pub is classic NYC Irish. Friendly, affordable and with a long menu of very good pub grub.

Yelp
Super good prices and great ambiance! Music is varied so it's good for everyone. The shepherds pie was delicious. We also got cosmos and beer. They have a good variety of cocktails and beers as well as a huge food menu. The bartenders are friendly and fast to serve. Highly recommend this place! Coming back for sure

Yelp
It was a coworker's last day so we decided to find the nearest pub that was open to grab a drink to celebrate! We were able to be seated right away (we were a group of 4). I decided on an Irish coffee while my coworkers got all different cocktails, including an amaretto sour. For my meal I ordered a BLT. The side of fries were great, I didn't even need to dip them in anything. I would definitely return here!

Yelp
Had the wings, pretty good wings with a good amount of flavor. Went for the Liverpool game so the environment was awesome and service was amazing. Guinness is fantastic as well, always a plus.

Mark H.

Yelp
Not sure I'll be returning here. We ordered a burger and waited forever. Then we were told that it had been given to another customer. Bartender should have extended us a break on the bill. Nope.

Yelp
I was in NYC for the first time to see Cincinnati Red's play. We walked to this pub to meet our family, and we absolutely loved the pub and the people bartending. We went back after the Red's won and saw the wonderful people agsin. Sean, Emma, and Ashley. The food was soooo good and delicious. We love this place and will come back.
google avatar

Luis C.

Yelp
The place is nice enough. I just went to seat for a while on a rainy day. My beer tasted awful. Flat? And the aftertaste was not right. The person next to me had the same experience with a different brand. She was more assertive, and returned it, and asked for a bottled one. I should have done the same.

Yelp
This was the first place visited when in NYC and it was close to my hotel. The bar was a small one but with enough space for my friend and I to have dinner. I stuck with something classy like a hamburger with a giant slice of beefsteak tomato, red onions and lettuce. They put a couple of pickles on the side and I enjoyed those solo. The Fries were good and the beer I had paired well. I loved the fact that they had waitresses who had the Irish accent as I'm a sucker for that. Id recommend it very much to others who come in for a much needed bite to start their adventure in the city.

Yelp
We were looking for a quick bite and a pint while in NYC this week. Great pick with Mulligans. Not super crowded but it was a midweek, midday. Nice bar but we sat at a high top as we had our 8 year old with us. Attentive waitress with a killer Irish accent added to the experience. Chicken fingers for the boy with fries and Coke. Delicious and good portion kept him content. We split an order of Shepherd's Pie Potato skins which were nice creations and exactly as you would expect. We also split the crispy chicken sandwich with cole slaw and spicy mayo. A couple perfect pints each and we were full, happy and on our way. Great find!

Yelp
My first time here. Jimmy was great! Burger was amazing. I highly recommend!! Blue burger with truffle fries!

Tiedo T.

Yelp
Stopped in to have a few Hoptical Illustrations and watch some soccer...the bartender was the only one working the entire place and she KILLED IT!!!! Didn't get her name, but she was all alone and handled it somehow! She was working the bar (15ppl) and 8 tables. Shame one you who schedules the crews..thank goodness you have her (she wears glasses) to run the show. Unfortunately there was one guy that just did not understand how busy it was and he was upset he had to wait a few minutes to refill his soda ‍. Great job and thank you to you miss bartender/server!!!!

Sam G.

Yelp
Went to mulligans for a second time being in the city...just as good as the first time. Jimmy served us and was fantastic. Highly recommend to anyone and everyone

Carid S.

Yelp
Karina is great! Very friendly and attentive! Makes the best Moscow mules. The space is very relaxed and has great energy for after work drinks

Yelp
Good food, great service, excellent play list, heavy on The Kinks and The Who and the late 60s era. Highly recommend the tuna melt sandwich.

David G.

Yelp
Servers are Irish and friendly! Such a welcoming place with good beer and liquor prices especially for Midtown. The fish and chips here are really tasty, the Irish breakfast is one of my favorites, but the star dishes are the burgers! They are a nice, not too heavy, portion good for lunch and the accompanying fries are exactly what fries should be: thin, crispy, and potato...ey. Everything is fresh and made to order and while you wait for the food you can enjoy sports on the televisions, or look at all the pictures of Irish writers, and of course enjoy a perfectly poured Guiness or Smithwicks! It's a fun place with great food, great people, and great drinks.
google avatar

Monica P.

Yelp
Mulligan's is an excellent local that serves an array of delicious food and most importantly, an excellently poured pint.

Yelp
Service was not good. Food took way too long, although the quality was very nice. Although location is convenient, won't be returning.

Yelp
Stopped in because it was close to the hotel. Next trip to NYC, we'll stop no matter where we stay! And we'll ask to be seated in Barbara's section again. She is the most delightful, hardworking young woman we encountered in any establishment this trip! Thanks for taking such good care of us, Barbara

Dale L.

Yelp
Great fish n chips !!! And Pinot Grigio is on happy hour... yeah !!! Great service !!! Can't wait to try other things on the menu

Yelp
We headed into the city for our Christmas routine. Part of that routine is hitting an Irish pub. Thanks to Yelp we found this place. For you covid concerned peeps: temp checks are done before you walk in and all the staff are masked up. Tables were pretty far apart too. I didn't go full "Karen" and measure, but I felt comfortable there. Our server, I wish I remembered his name, was awesome. He was very attentive, and very into the soccer game going on. (Side note. It was cool to be in a bar where soccer was on on a Sunday and not football. That added to the authenticity of the place) We both had bangers and mash. It was a heavy meal, that left me stuffed. The mashed potatoes are actually mashed and not the water mix. If they are the water mix, kudos to the chef. Try the brown sauce they bring over too. All in all this was a very cool experience with great food and awesome service. This place made my bookmarks. I will definitely be back. Management if you see this, and remember my name and pics, you'll know out server. That guy is a keeper.

Gloria M.

Yelp
Delicious. Got take-out and had the fish and chips. Very good! Definitely will be getting it again soon!

Yelp
Best pastrami on rye in New York City! Wasn't a city for St Patrick's Day and really loved the food and atmosphere in this pub the Guinness wasn't half bad either LOL

Yelp
Classic Irish bar in midtown, nothing fancy but a great vibe and a friendly bartender. Stopped by for a beer after dinner and did the trick, recommend if you're looking for a quick drink or a place to hang with friends.

Aga M.

Yelp
Awesome bar with awesome people around, you can be home watching Netflix or you can relax at Mulligan's ... your choice. Greta service and bartender.

Mary Alice J.

Yelp
Hi! I'm new to the city and was really looking for a place to wind down, mulligans was the place to be. The atmosphere is fantastic for a post work drink. The bartenders are personable, charismatic, and attentive. After t2 visits they knew my drink!!!! 10/10 recommend and will visit many many more times :)
google avatar

Yelp
This place is a disaster. Don't go. Awful. The staff is rude, aggressive. Unsafe across the board- especially for women. There's a million bars in Manhattan- do yourself a favor and skip this place.
google avatar

Linda L.

Yelp
Found this recommendation on Yelp and highly recommend this place. Its a true Irish pub. There are some that just pose. This one is for real. Very helpful and friendly staff. Bartender Sean was great...On top of everything. The food was delicious too! 10 out9f 10 for a midtownish Irish pub w excellent food, drinks, and people. I had a great time!!

Yelp
Stopped by on the way to our hotel after enjoying Moulin Rouge on Broadway. The city was just starting to open up again after the pandemic, and there weren't many pubs open in this part of town. Even the bar in our hotel was not open. So we were happy to find Mulligan's Pub with a mixture of ages in attendance and an empty high top for us to sit and enjoy a beer and some reuben stuffed potato skins. Many tv's with boxing on some and football on others, so it was a sporty high energy atmosphere. The service was excellent, with our drinks and apps coming out quite quickly, and refills as soon as we were at the bottom of the pint. Recommend if you are in the area!
google avatar

Jordan W.

Yelp
Nice, surprisingly big, sports bar in midtown. Came in late on a Saturday and was surprised how busy it was, given there weren't any sports on and it was raining and it is in midtown. Cool spot that I plan on checking out again
google avatar

Cindy H.

Yelp
friendly service. nothing mind blowout but good food. drinks and food all came out soooo quickly. we went on a tuesday evening and it was really empty. quiet enough so that we didn't need to yell :-)
google avatar

Yelp
Nice bar and pub grub type of place. Very close to Rockefeller Center. Great atmosphere.
google avatar

Lane E.

Yelp
Went here during the World Cup Final and it was very busy. The manager provided the best service I've ever had in NYC. She made sure everyone had drinks and we didn't wait long at all for refills. I would definitely recommend stopping in for a game here!
google avatar

Yuki I.

Yelp
Stopped by for some drinks post-dinner, had a blast. Our poor waitress seemed very stressed and busy, and we had to remind her a couple times about our orders, but she got them done! We even took some shots with the table next to us - they were having a girls night out, and they were so fun! Great vibes, great time.

Julia P.

Yelp
It was dirty disgusting and the staff was RUDE. Go to this place is you want to have a bad night. They are sure to ruin your night with terrible drinks and an attitude to add to it.
google avatar

Stephanie P.

Yelp
Was here last night for a office holiday gathering and we reserved a few tables for about 25+ people with all you can drink booze and all you can eat noms. We had one dedicated waitress. Most of us kept double fisting (till she made it 1 drink per person, per order because we were drinking as if the Mayan apocalypse prophesy was occurring today, lol) and ordering plenty of foods like mozzarella sticks, chicken quesadillas, potato skins, calamari, chicken wings, chicken fingers, etc. We were DEFINITELY an overwhelming bunch considering that our waitress was one person handling 25+ alchy/hungry, enthusiastic and incredibly extroverted sales folks. Frankly, I think she did an amazing job. Her name was Michelle and she was friendly, knew when she had too many requests and at what pace she could work at. She was professional at all times with everyone and still managed to be efficient, keep her cool and smile. Hopefully she was well compensated because she was an absolute gem and totally worthy of my returning to update my original Yelp review of this bar. Thanks for the awesome service Michelle and hopefully we weren't too crazy ;-).

Yelp
Mulligan's is my favorite pub in the city. I've been going for over 10 years and have made some amazing memories there. The staff are always incredibly friendly, as are any other people you might meet there. It truly is a place for everyone, where you'll see office workers, tradesmen, people on vacation, sports fans, families, and the occasional celebrity. Whenever I have friends or family visiting from out of town, Mulligan's is always the place I take them. The food is classic pub cuisine, with good portions and tastes fantastic (I recommend the buffalo chicken wrap), the drinks are great, and the service is speedy. I'd also recommend Mulligan's as a good spot for a low-key Tinder date. I've never been let down (by Mulligan's, that is, I have been let down by Tinder dates, but that's irrelevant).
google avatar

Ryan S.

Yelp
Couldn't be happier my favorite bar is back open again. Mulligan's is like a second home and everyone that works there feels like family. Great prices, music and classic pub food. Better yet, I felt even more comfortable with how safe it feels and the precautions being taken to make everyone feel welcome. Anyone that wants to feel like you're in a genuine NYC Irish pub, Mulligan's should be on your list.
google avatar

Janey B.

Yelp
The bartenders and servers are amazing here. The customer service is absolutely great. They're always attentive and funny and sociable. The food, however? Not so much. My company has ordered food from here for lunch multiple times but each and every time the food has been subpar... I have never enjoyed anything here food wise but drink and ambiance are awesome... So come to drink and be merry!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is great, the staff is so friendly and attentive and the food and drinks are amazing, it feels like home here specially with the bartender tonight that makes your drinks come true ... thank you guys
