Musashi was an amazing experience. Super accommodating and kind staff, wonderful and timely service, great ambiance, and delicious, authentic Japanese food (at a very reasonable price)!! Would 10000% go back again and invite friends and family.

You know a place is good when you arrive and you see a line staging outside. When they brought me the miso soup I knew this place would be top tier. So packed full of flavor and the perfect appetizer to prepare you for the wonderful food. Between the pork cutlet that is packed full of wonder and the ramen that's broth will send you into another dimension. This place makes me feel like I'm in Japan, it's incredible. Not to even mention the sushi which was the highest quality nigiri I'd ever tasted. Absolute 10/10 this place deserves all the praise.

Google
Musashi is absolutely wonderful! I was looking for authentic Japanese food and was told to check out Musashi. I am so glad that I did. Our family has not had one item that we haven’t loved. Every item is fresh and delicious. My favorite is the eel. Their miso soup is the best that I’ve tasted anywhere in Charlotte. Their sushi is excellent. You can’t go wrong with anything that you order. The service is always wonderful as well.

Google
Sweet little place where the ramen and katsu rice really made me misss my happy times when I was living in Hong Kong. But this is Charlotte where I believe food supplies and ingredients don’t come as handy! But the food is still nice and neat 🤩🤩🤩

My wife and I came here on a Saturday evening for a date night. We arrived and were put on the wait list. While we waited, we sat and took in the ambiance of the restaurant. This place reminded us of a traditional Japanese restaurant and the workers were also Japanese. The service was fine for how busy it was. The food came out quickly to our surprise. The tonkatsu ramen was okay, but the highlight is the seafood over rice. The fish tasted fresh and I really enjoyed the uni and tomago. I’ll definitely be coming back to try some katsu!

Google
If you want a tasty but excruciatingly slow and expensive sushi meal then this is your spot. Ironically, unusually, and conspicuously - they had a gigantic digital clock on a tv screen that was facing the dining room. I guess it is to remind the customers how long they have been waiting for their food.

Google
I was really looking forward to trying Musashi, as it’s known to be the only authentic Japanese restaurant in Charlotte. Since the line was long, I decided to order takeout. I got the unajyu, which came with miso soup, I also got some agedashi tofu, and mango nigiri sake. My total was over $100, which I didn’t mind since I hadn’t had authentic Japanese food in a long time and had heard great things about this place. When I got home, I was enjoying my unajyu until I opened my miso soup, and found a hair in it. It completely ruined my appetite. I immediately tried to call the restaurant multiple times, but no one answered. I understand that mistakes can happen, but for a restaurant with such a good reputation, I expected better food hygiene and at least a response when I reached out. This was a disappointing experience, and I hope they improve their quality control.

Google
One of the very few authentic Japanese restaurants in the Charlotte area. The food is the real deal and the service is excellent.

Yelp
Musashi is hands down one of my favorite Japanese restaurants in Charlotte, and it's easy to see why! There's always a line forming a few minutes before opening, and who can blame them? The food is consistently high-quality, with fresh ingredients and authentic flavors that truly stand out. The lunch specials are a highlight--they come with generous portions that leave you satisfied without breaking the bank. The atmosphere is very cozy and welcoming, making it the perfect spot for a casual meal or even a special outing. On top of that, the staff is super nice and incredibly accommodating, adding to the overall great experience. Whether you're craving sushi, a hearty bowl of ramen, or other classic Japanese dishes, Musashi always delivers. It's definitely worth the wait in line--this place is a true gem!

Yelp
Craving some delicious Japanese food, this spot has some really clever Bento Boxes full of fresh and delicious bites. My friends all got different bowls of Ramen and Udon soup and we also ordered sushi. Best Miso soup I have had in Charlotte. Everything was hot, fresh delicious with one exception, my partner wasn't super impressed with the pork ramen broth. He just wished it had more complexity, the flavor was on the bland side which needed all the toppings and sesame oil served on the side.

Yelp
Delicious authentic food. Great service. Very fair prices, especially their lunch menu.

Yelp
This is a family owned authentic Japanese restaurant that I have been going to for the last 20 years and is a favorite among Japanese in the area. It is not a trendy Sushi restaurant like Baku and others in South End or South Park that are catered toward people who prefer more Americanized Sushi experience. I come here when I want comfort food experience and I can order items like fried smelts that would not be on other Japanese restaurants menu. The Chef knows that I will eat anything he put in my Chirashi so he always add something new for me to try. Once in a while he will also treat me with Uni in my Chirashi which I would never get at other Japanese restaurants.

Yelp
After all these years, Masashi is still one of the best Japanese restaurants in Charlotte. If you do come here for lunch on the weekends make sure you are in line before it opens. The food is continue to be excellent and cooked by the Japanese chef. I love their Katsu Jyu and all their bento boxes. Lunch always reasonable price. As they got busier over the last few years, the restaurant seems small, but I don't mind waiting for good food.

Yelp
I will give 5 stars when the website displays Menu Prices. Restaurants should never be allowed to hide pricing. It's been awhile since Ive eaten here but I would like to know updates on pricing..

Yelp
This place is tucked away in the one food lion shopping center that doesn't have a Chinese take out spot but instead one of the most incredible unassuming Japanese restaurants in this area. It does get busy and forget calling. They won't pick up. It's busy. If you want to come eat at a normal time come early. Otherwise we came later in the evening and waited less than 10 minutes. I'm just gonna talk food. We got a few apps Pork Shumai Vegetable tempura Miso soup Sapporo Coke The apps were solid and the pork was juicy throughout. My only knock being a spicy food lover is they don't have a chili oil but this is Japanese food. Otherwise the chili oil and chili flakes that came with it did the trick. It did come with Japanese mayo which was an interesting touch but delicious to add to the bite. Tempura was fried perfectly and even withstood a dunk in the beef and tofu broth which made it taste sooooooooo good. I'll get to that dish later. Entrees. My party ordered a few tonkatsu pork ramens, a miso pork ramen, a few pork / chicken katsu curries, and finally I ordered the beef and tofu with a side of rice. First the ramens. You gotta start with a broth taste. And it's solid. It's rich. Flavorful. Right notes of umami, salty, savory goodness. I didn't find it overly powerful when trying from another's bowl. Otherwise everyone loved these dishes. The katsu curries were delicious. Fried perfectly. Curry was made to be spiced perfectly, with notes of sweetness and was paired with some pickled radish. All together this just worked and it is hearty! Expect a ton of curry and rice. The protein portion is just enough imo. They do a good job here especially if you're craving it. Wish they had whole veggies in the curry though, my only small critique. The beef and tofu. Oh my god. This broth was heavenly. So rich. Fatty. Beefy. But balanced with some vegetables, wood ear mushrooms, ultra soft tofu, and shitaki mushrooms. The thin onions were so delicious. Once again, I wish they had a chili oil but I thought about it mid meal after my friend tried my broth and realized its perfection. Seriously. This is the item to get. Also ps. I realized I should've ordered the soba on the side with this dish, probably would've been really good with it. Service. Great. The waitress and staff in general were friendly and were very quick to answer our questions and help us with our order. Def come on by.

Yelp
INCREDIBLE food!! Very fresh, and everything wonderfully prepared! The service was great, they were very kind and great. The place was also very calm and soothing. Definitely a diamond in the rough!

Yelp
Visit on a Saturday at 5:45pm. Yet they're open at 5:30pm. This place is already packed. It's a very small place. However, the authenticity is some of the best around. Sushi are good quality, they keep close to their roots. Not trying to cater to the American audience. And I can't tell you how much I appreciated that.. We ordered soo much from the menu. Ramen, sushi, edamame, grilled skinny mackerel, calamari, udon soup. And I can't tell you there wasn't a dish I didn't like. All the wait staffs take turns caring for you. And they're attentive. My water were never empty, my dirty plates are promptly taken away. They're very knowledgeable with the dishes but English is not their short point. Setting is small but intimate. Almost cozy in a way. Nothing fancy. There's also a room kinda close off that you can down traditionally. Shoes off please. For Charlotte. This is a nice additional. They're not catering to crowd that want to be with the trends. Their visitors truly love what they have to offer and the authenticity of it all. I'm a fan now.

Yelp
The food here is good. It was my first time trying it and it was pretty delicious. I wished they had more items on the menu. The lunch was good. I like how they have lunch options. Service is nice. Staff is attentive. The ambiance is good. Just a small restaurant. Nothing bad about this place. I would come here again.

Yelp
My favorite homey Japanese restaurant in town. Always love their lunch options. The owners are always friendly. Food is very authentic and you know a Japanese restaurant is good when their miso soup is amazing Always take my friends from out of town here

Yelp
Everything I've tried has been really good so far, I wish they'd pick up the phone more reliably though

Yelp
Really nice ramen for dinner - tonkotsu flavor - creamy broth - my dad had tuna sashimi and brother and mom had sushi - a nice dinner on holiday - price was ok - found in a shopping plaza near a Grocery store -

Yelp
Great food, personal service. Small place so customers need to be patient to get your food. Everything tastes good that is on their menu

Yelp
Came here for lunch on a Saturday with a group of three so we were expecting a long wait but only had to wait about 30 minutes despite the rush! We got shoyu ramen, tonkotsu lunch plate, and tempura udon (pictured). The tempura and tonkotsu both were so crispy but fried so well that the food kept the moisture inside! The broth of the udon was super refreshing and light which I really enjoyed. The shoyu ramen was also super good! In addition to this, the staff was so friendly and inviting that the experience overall was so enjoyable! The decorations/overall aesthetic is also calming yet welcoming so this added to the authenticity of the experience! Overall I would love to come here again and I encourage you all to try it out as well!

Yelp
Such good food. Came here on a quiet off day (Monday) and came in right as they opened with no wait. It's a family owned little place so it's very quaint and quiet in there which I loved. Had the Tonkotsu Ramen and a platter of sushi all which was incredibly tasty. :) I'd recommend this place for sure!

Yelp
My favorite Japanese restaurant in Charlotte besides Gyu-Kaku. The eel (Unagi don)is my favorite thing to get here.

Yelp
Authentic Japanese! Loved it. The sushi was fresh and delicious and the tempura was light. Service and ambiance were perfect,

Yelp
5 stars yet again. One of my all time favorite sushi spots in CLT. Don't let the area / outside fool you!! Inside is clean, relaxing, and a very Japanese authentic experience. Their fish is top grade

Yelp
Authentic Japanese. Crispy tempura, katsu, ramen, delicious food all around. It's very cozy here, and very authentic, in all ways, including food and service. This is a hidden gem...so shhhhh.

Yelp
Food is good. Service and Ambience spoiled by petty behavior. I have eaten there many times as my family goes there on birthdays or any occasion which warrants a special meal. What was the problem? "No substitution of soup or salad." We spend nearly $100 (well over including tip) every visit. The cost to them for either is infinitesimally small. In the past they absolutely did grant my wish for salad over soup but the manager of the evening said "we never" which I know from personal experience is not true. As yelp correctly suggests, there are THREE basic services a dine-in restaurant provides: 1. Food. 2. Service. 3. Ambiance. I would add to that hospitality but one could say hospitality is part of 2 and 3. I felt bad for the restaurant manager's petty decision. But if they think they are a "food vendor" only, they are mistaken. The experience was spoiled by refusal of a common, simple and otherwise "no problem" request. I don't know at what level this policy exists but when I appealed to the manager, he refused to speak about it until I forced the issue and would not look me in the eye. I feel bad because I once enjoyed the place but the broken hospitality spoils the experience entirely. I feel bad for the waitress, and if the manager was forbidden from making that choice, I feel bad for him too. But I can't see myself returning there again. A family celebration was spoiled not because I wanted something they refused, but because it was incredibly petty policy and refusal of management to even address it until after the experience. In Japan, this is "wa" and it was spoiled needlessly. Ironically, in Japan, most low-end restaurants are actually similar in policy, but this is the USA and in the South. We expect and offer better. Soup or salad substitution? Was it worth losing my future business? I hope to Musashi that it is. I don't want them to regret their choice because I do not.

Yelp
We tried to come here last weekend, but got there a moment too late to snag the last seat before getting on the waiting list...and well, we were too hungry to wait. But we decided to try again...and this time, we got there super-early and got seated right away! BTW, their lunch hour starts at 12 pm, and dinner hour start at 5:30 pm...and usually there's a line for both (SIGH). It's also somewhat iffy in getting a good seat, especially on weekends because the place is so small, and there are only a few tables available...but since they're currently blocking off a few tables due to the pandemic, it's extra difficult. :\ We weren't able to get 1 of the 3 prime booths (with cushions) available, but in any case, we got seated, so that's that! Now, the reason for our visit (2nd attempt)?? Tonkatsu Bento Box! I've always said it's THE best in town, and I still stand by that. This bento includes just about everything, from House Salad and Seaweed Salad, to Rice, California Rolls, Tempura, Squid, Spring Rolls, Shrimp Shumai...and of course, my beloved Katsu! This time, my husband had the same (plus a few sushi faves as appetizer)...and he declared over and over that everything was just too good!! I more than agree. EVERYTHING in this "Box" was beyond delish...and the Katsu is simply THE Best in town! It's perfectly crispy without being too thick, over-battered/over-cooked. (the Katsu I had at several other restaurants this past month aren't even close to being this good!). Honestly, I don't exactly love how the place is SO small...and how this place has such short lunch and dinner hours (plus it's usually so difficult to get good seats!), BUT...sometimes I'm willing to deal with such shortcomings when the food is THIS good (as in SUPERB!). Luckily for me, there are many new Japanese restaurants constantly popping up in Charlotte...and I DO have several favorites, but I still feel that this is THE best Japanese in Charlotte... possibly the oldest and the most authentic as well. In other words, despite the possible long waits or the bad seats (somewhat makes me think of the "Soup Nazis on SNL" lol!), we will be back!
google avatar

Shizuka T.

Yelp
Probably the most authentic Japanese place in town! Owned by an actual Japanese person which is probably why everything tastes like my childhood. The only thing that is not up to par would be the sushi. But I don't think this is the restaurant's fault. I'm guessing that all the sushi restaurants in town get their fish shipment from the same 2-3 places so it's all gonna taste the same wherever you go. But if you're looking for a non-sushi Japanese food, this is the most authentic place I've tried in town!
google avatar

Scott C.

Yelp
I have been here a couple of times in the last few weeks. Once for lunch and once for dinner. Both times the food was excellent, as was the service. My nit picking has to do with the long lines and the fact that the ran out of hot saki.... But we will definitely be going back again
google avatar

Deb S.

Yelp
We've been coming to Musashi for years, never thought to leave a review. Their food is always good, be it ramen or sushi and the service is always very attentive, no matter how crowded they are. They have a wide menu, offering a variety of choices. Try the tofu agedashi, it's fantastic.
google avatar

Tori C.

Yelp
This is a lovely little community secret ( if you are looking for traditional-style Japanese). Many of the dishes we've seen or heard of, but they are prepared differently (but taste completely delicious). So be sure to clarify how the meal item will be prepared if there are doubts. The bento box is delightful (tempura veggies, California roll, spring rolls, and katsu). Their sushi is absolutely incredibly done. Notes - there is NOOO hibachi or stir fry (there is also a very polite sign on the door to remind of customers of this so please do not bother the very busy staff asking for this). - it does get so busy that sometimes take out orders can take awhile to prepare as well. Again, be prepared to wait for most things. This is a place where you come to appreciate the cuisine so it's good to expect a wait for sushi and take out orders up to an hour and half.
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch and found it to be a nice little spot to eat. The food was good and service was on point, I just was surprised how limited the menu was and how expensive it was for what we ate. We ordered shrimp tempura. We got three shrimp and several vegetable tempura. I was kinda shocked that it wasn't more shrimp when that was what I ordered. Hubs ordered a sushi roll. He loves cream cheese so that roll he ordered was great but not my fav. I ordered edamame. We both had hot tea and the lunch was more than $25.00. A roll, edamame & shrimp tempura. I was surprised how much it was for very little food. We ate two dinners at another Japanese restaurant later this week and spent a few more bucks and got 3 appetizers, drinks and huge meals. Sorry but for me the food value didn't work. Too expensive for lunch .
google avatar

Carrie B.

Yelp
Always great food. Service is always great. We always come knowing it will be at least an hour wait so we go grab a drink while we wait nearby. Worth it.
google avatar

Tina T.

Yelp
I am always down to come eat at this restaurant because it's one of the few restaurants that has really good food that doesn't disappoints. I've had the tempura udon and I absolutely loved it. They give a good portion size for a such a good price, along with great quality and taste. The service is always amazing, their staff is very friendly and always on top of things, like checking if we have enough water and seeing if we need anything else. We were seated in the special room this time and it gave us the true Japanese restaurant experience of eating etiquettes such as taking off our shoes and feeling more close knit as we shared a meal with friends. It usually is always crowded whenever we dine in. It's definitely worth a spot to try out and I know you'll come back for more!

Rhoda G.

Yelp
Musashi is a family run restaurant, mom is in the kitchen, son is running the front of the house. Very traditional Japanese food. Small, intimate restaurant. I'm from Hawaii and my Hawaiian friends have been coming here for years. A friend's favorite is fried fish head which they'll cook up especially for her. You can't go wrong with anything you order. Sushi is excellent, seafood is always fresh. Tempura is perfectly crispy, never oily. Curry is perfect. Just like home. You know it's authentic when most of the clientele are Japanese. Great location, lots of parking. It's so popular you may want to either arrive just before they open or 45 minutes later, when the first group of diners is getting ready to leave. Service is quick, friendly.

Jack P.

Yelp
Authentic and traditional Japanese cuisine. My favorite spot in the Charlotte area. Service is attentive and very respectful. Interior is small and cozy. Sushi bar seating is an added perk. All around great place.
google avatar

Stephen P.

Yelp
Never fails to disappoint as it is the number one authentic Japanese restaurant in Charlotte as evidenced by the number of Japanese patrons that frequent the establishment on a consistent basis. Great lunch specials, welcoming and friendly service and fresh delicious food, what more can you ask for!?!?
google avatar

Evan F.

Yelp
Chicken Teriyaki. Absolutely disgusting, can't believe i paid for this. Do not go here!! Waste of money!!!! Gave me a piece of burnt chicken with a half portion of rice and a thing of potato salad which I immediately threw away. 0/10. Tried to call them to make things right and they wouldn't pick up the phone.

John J.

Yelp
Great sushi in a relaxed and cozy environment. The owners are bringing their knowledge of Japan into the dishes and service. One of our go to sushi places in Charlotte.
google avatar

Jonathan B.

Yelp
Over the years I've been in here more times than I can honestly remember. Over the years I've watched them descend into poorer and poorer quality. The restaurant is in dire need of a proper cleaning and updating. The old sports photos on the walls are stained and dusty with age. The disorganized shelf behind the sushi bar needs a re-thinking. And the sushi chef himself needs an attitude adjustment. The servers all try their hardest. Three of them have been here since the beginning of time and all know me well and seem to like me. I try to avoid sitting at the sushi bar at all costs because the guy is incredibly rude. Maybe some people are into it. The food quality is mediocre at best for most items. Best things going are the katsu curry and lunch specials. There's really nothing to write home about anymore with Musashi and they're the standalone proof in Charlotte that just because you go to a Japanese restaurant run by Japanese people doesn't mean you're experience is anymore authentic than one run by others. There are lots of Japanese options in town nowadays that I would recommend sooner.
google avatar

VJay S.

Yelp
I've been going here for years, but sometimes I wonder why. Maybe because a Japanese friend recommended it more than 10 years ago, and because a lot of Japanese people tend to eat at Musashi. At some level I like it, but I know there are many other places that are better. The food is simple, and at times it can be quite dull...meh quality. No fancy sushi here, no new creations that make you say wow! It isn't expensive, but it isn't cheap either. The restaurant is tiny, probably 8 tables total. They don't take reservations, which has been really irritating me lately. I went on a Friday night and the wait was 1.5 hours. I went on a freezing Monday night, wait was 45 minutes. Both times I went elsewhere. The atmosphere is sleepy, the servers are generally gruff and make little to no effort to make you feel welcome. Perhaps it the Japanese way?? Overall, Musashi makes no effort to make you happy...be it food, friendliness, or ease of getting seated. I almost feel they don't want you to be there. But yet, I will probably go back and suck it up. Sorry I couldn't offer a better review. Go find out for yourself!

Yelp
The real f*****g deal! Very reasonably priced for such a sublime gustatory experience. The Gyoza... MmmmMmm... This Gyoza had me reconsidering what life goals are. I had to attend a Tony Robins seminar just so I didn't blow my kid's college fund on Gyoza.

Yelp
[Grade: B] I've always heard how amazing and authentic this Japanese restaurant is, and for the most part it met my expectations. I came around dinner time hoping to get some ramen and maybe a bit of sushi just to compare it with some other places I've been to. We got the Pork Ramen, some calamari, and ordered 5 pcs of nigiri (Salmon, Octopus, Tuna, Crabstick, and Hamachi). For the most part, I really enjoyed the ramen as it had a delicious broth, tasty noodles, and tender slices of pork. The only thing I'd probably change was maybe to add some more garnishes/veggies too just to bring a little note variety in flavours and textures. The calamari was lightly fried and well-seasoned and had no complaints with that; very crispy and yummy. Personally the sushi was a bit meh in terms of the taste, quality, and technique. The fish fell off the rice very easily as we tried to dip in the soy sauce, and I would say the cuts of fish weren't the best in terms of quality maybe akin to decent buffet sushi. Pretty disappointed in the sushi if you ask me, and honestly I don't think I'd come back for it. Overall, I definitely found the ramen to be delicious and well balanced, but could use some additions to level it up even more, and I'd definitely want to try more of the kitchen menu items like their bento boxes and appetizers rather to their sushi selection. Other than that, their waitstaff was very attentive and polite and the atmosphere feels very authentic compared to other japanese restaurants in the area.

Yelp
We came during their lunch hours and they typically have three bento boxes that are available for your choosing. You can also order other items from their menu as well. They had already ran out of Bento Box A by the time we got there so I got Bento Box B, which was the sushi bento box. We got the katsu-don too. This place seemed like an authentic Japanese restaurant. They even had an area where you would be seated on the ground as well. Service was prompt and attentive and food was brought out pretty quickly. We were given miso soup to start off with - it was kind of salty. The bento box had so much food, I was so full afterwards. For $11, I thought it was a pretty good deal for lunch. The sushi rolls looked huge, but when I took a closer look, it was full of rice, which was my only complaint. Sushi quality is decent. Their wasabi is actually spicy so beware! The katsu-don's sauce was good and the portions were huge. They didn't skimp out on the meat. I'd want to come back and try out their dinner bento boxes to see if they're better and maybe come back again so I can try Bento Box A because it seems like people like that option too.

Yelp
Charlotte's only traditional Japanese restaurant I have had the pleasure of dining in Musashi twice, and both times have been excellent. The restraunt essentially is the traditional Japanese neighborhood restraunt and its menu reflects that fare. Fresh nigiri, sashimi, a collection of Japanese bento boxes, and noodle dishes and typical appetizers. The fare is simple, traditional, and reflects the typical representation of dishes, that are often missing touches at other sushi/izakaya restaurants have. For example, nearly all bento boxes are served with miso soup and tempura is served with traditional dashi based tempura sauce. In addition, the ambiance of the restraunt matches the menu and even the staff is Japanese. I've pictured my lunch from this visit.

Yelp
Musashi is the OG of traditional Japanese restaurants in Charlotte. Whenever I find myself craving simple, comforting food- I come to Musashi. Their service can be slow at times due to being short staffed, but I am always happy to wait for my meal because it's worth it! The tonkatsu ramen is rich and flavorful, not greasy like some other restaurants. I love that they add slices of kamaboko (the pink and white fish cake) which is traditionally what is in ramen in Japan. Not too many restaurants include that! The appetizers and sushi are always fresh and vibrant, the quality shines through. If you want to appreciate the ingredients in a dish without it being overwhelmed by a bunch of spices, Mushashi is perfect.

Yelp
By far my favorite restaurant in Charlotte. Food is always consistent and delicious. Service is fast and they are so sweet!

Yheng D.

Yelp
Love the place and very tasty food a little bit pricey but taste good and fancy looking food the way they served the food presentable look. Friendly stuff. I would probably go back again to try and explore the other menu.

Yelp
Only authentic Japanese Restaurant in Charlotte area so far. Food is great and healthy, and brings me back to the days while I was traveling in Japan.
google avatar

Yelp
If you're looking for authentic Japanese food, look no further. It's a small space, so expect to wait on weekends. They do not rush you, and things are prepared fresh so it will take some time to dine. The bento box is my go to, as it has a little bit of everything and you can't beat the price! Delicious food, kind people, and a relaxed atmosphere.

Yelp
I had visited Musashi years ago and left remembering how amazing and authentic it was. Cue to a few weeks ago when I found out that my new job's field office was only six minutes from here. Goodbye packed lunch, hello Musashi! Yes, the inside is small, but don't let that fool you. The service is always reliable and the menu is satisfying. During my last visit I sat at the bar and ate the Tempura-Udon dish. It was simple, but still so perfect. The prices are reasonable for a lunch visit, but if you're looking for dinner this is also a great option. If you work in this area and want something different than just your average Chipotle or Panera I beg you to visit Musashi. I promise you will enjoy it!

Yelp
I made a reservation at my favorite restaurant in Charlotte and somehow scored the private room with the shoji screens! What we got: Agedashi Nasu Agedashi Tofu Salmon, Ikura, Uni nigiri Tempura Soba Nabeyaki Udon Green tea ice cream I think this might be the only authentic Japanese family restaurant in town and I wish we had more like this (or maybe not and I would just keep this little gem to myself lol). I'm not usually a heavy meat eater so Musashi is perfect! Their menu isn't big but they deliver every single dish to perfection. You never have to question the quality of the sushi here, it is fresh and prepared carefully. I have tried and love all of their appetizers (highly recommend agedashi nasu and tofu). My favorite noodle dish from here is the tempura soba! There is a bit of a wait for food but I can tell how meticulous they are with each dish that I do not mind at all! Also, thank the heavens for the Japanese toilet with bidet and seat warmer function

Yelp
Musashi has to be one of the best sushi restaurants in Charlotte. I have never had any problems here. The food is always great as well as the service. It's a very small place but the atmosphere is calm and inviting. Has to be my favorite Japanese place in the city for its authenticity and quality.
