Decent Thai food at the Siam Orchid (now Muse Thai Bistro). Stopped here for dinner on a quiet Monday night. I was the only diner in the restaurant.
The open dining area has several tables, high tables, chairs and stools, a large flat panel TV (with CNN), and the cocktail bar (4-color column backlighting) changes colors constantly. There are some framed artwork on the walls with colorful paper decorations & small colored glass lights hanging from the ceiling. Some Asian pop music was also playing in the background.
I started out with a small bowl of Chicken Coconut Soup ($2.95) which had coconut milk broth, mushroom, scallions & chicken was very sweet and steaming hot. A great start!!
For dinner, I had the Pad Thai ($8.95 - 2 shrimp, chicken, egg, noodles, bean sprouts, & crushed peanuts) which had a lot of chicken, sprouts, & crushed peanuts dominating the noodles and the overall taste was decent.
For dessert, I had the Fried Ice Cream ($3.50), which was vanilla ice cream coated in a sweet batter (already made) & topped with Redi-Whip, chocolate syrup, and a cherry. My waiter put the toppings on in the bar. The fried ice cream was okay, nothing spectacular.
Overall, the service was very attentive (constant refills on house water), the food was decent, and the dining atmosphere was decorative and colorful (not over the top).
