The Best Nepali Restaurants In NYC - New York - The Infatuation

"Mustang Thakali Kitchen is a good back-pocket spot in Jackson Heights. Keep it in mind the next time you’re in the area and want to spend some quality time with a plate of momos—maybe before or after a flight out of LaGuardia. We like the chow mein, which manages to be slightly charred and perfectly chewy with every bite, but if you’re here with a few people try a beef thali too. (Note that it doesn’t come with free refills, as at some other spots.) And, if your flight is delayed, order a drink, which they’ll mix at the large bar towards the back of the restaurant." - willa moore, sonal shah, bryan kim

"The menu of this Nepali restaurant originates in the north central region of Mustang. Expect the usual steamers of momo, handmade noodles in soups and stir fries, vegetable salads, and warm meat jerkies sometimes containing offal. Goat is a highlight. Many of the meals are served on round metal thalis, each containing 10 or so small dishes and condiments." - Robert Sietsema

It has been a hot minute since I had a truly great and also unknown food experience. Yes to all things, the chili chicken is wonderfully hot and balanced. The noods have the right salt level and good bite. Whatever rammekin of sauce I got, please respond to this, so I can buy a jar or large container of that please!

This place was SOOOOO GOOD. I live at the Mirage and my roommate and I were so excited about a food truck opening near our apartment! I love dumplings too so I HAD to try the momos. I got the Chow Chow Momo soup and my roommate got the Chili Momo. I will say the Chow Chow Momo soup was really salty BUT I LOVE SALTY FOOD! The food was hot and fresh and so good, the cook made it so quickly. The price was awesome for the portions! Love this place, it's definitely going to become a staple for me and I definitely want to try everything on the menu!

Mustang Thakali Kitchen is a great spot if you're looking to try something different and delicious. They serve authentic Nepalese and Indian dishes, and the flavors really stand out. The food is always fresh and full of spice (in a good way!). I tried the Chicken Biryani and Momos, and both were amazing. The portions are big, so you definitely get your money’s worth.
