It’s just okay. The best part of the meal was the cornbread casserole. I would recommend you get that it has this moist cake texture with bits of sweet corn. It was delicious. Everything else was forgettable. The ribs were are just okay. They were a lot better when I got home and put some Ray’s Sweet BBQ sauce in it. The Mac and Cheese was disappointing. You can get better Mac and cheese at Chick fila. I didn’t care for the coleslaw. And they had no banana pudding. And the meal for 3 people was over $80 so they are not cheap by any means.

The food here is excellent. I'm all about bbq but this place is a little different, so the name is fitting. To start, the 'baked beans' were kidney beans in an in-house bbq sauce. I didn't not think they would be good but they surprised me. I was expecting the typical dry chalky flavor of a kidney bean but I was wrong. These beans were cooked in the bbq sauce enough to soak into them. It was really very good. Got sliced Brisket and chopped. The sliced Brisket was made exactly how some of the best bbq places around the country make it like (i visit bbq all over east coast). It's very hard to cook Brisket right but they absolutely nailed it! The chopped Brisket was closer to a pulled Brisket but still excellent. Im used to the burnt end style chopped Brisket but this was still a great contender. Mac and cheese was good as well. I'd say definitely best in the area (definitely way better than that liquid smoked place if you know it). Worth going to for sure Overall it was a more unique bbq place and I would definitely go back if I was in the area. I'd honestly say it's in the top bbq places in nj.. I'm determined to try every bbq place in the state but this one is up there with one of my favorites (mostly smoked rt 9) Pickles and pickled onions were exactly what you would expect, not sweet like other places. Also the vibe in there was very cool with exception to the Springsteen stuff

I was here 2 times together with my wife, and we love this place. The staff is super nice, the restaurant is clean and the food is just crazy good. We have tried smoked chicken thighs, brisket, ribs, pulled pork, and they were just awesome.

great atmosphere; pleasant staff and absolutely wonderful food. my only negative review would be the mac and cheese. 0/10 with the consistency of glue and no flavor. you can't have the BEST BBQ and then such a lackluster mac and cheese to go with it. The Chef should think about revamping that recipe, there's too much room for improvement. 5 stars across the board otherwise!!

The location is a sliver of a restaurant probably around 16 ft wide with four double tables and two single tables. Everything is basically self-serve including the plastic forks straws napkins has nothing is on the tables. I was there at 5:30 p.m. on a weekday and receive the last half rack of ribs and watched as people came in around 6:00 and try to order a meal for two people. They were out of ribs they were out of pulled pork they were out of chopped pork they were out of everything except turkey and this was just around dinner time. Situation is that everything is made fresh and they have an extremely limited menu of around seven items. So if you're coming from a distance the chances are very good by the time you get to where you're going which is the restaurant they will probably be or could frequently be out of food. This was not an unusual circumstance as everything is first come first serve. The food was good the French fries were great the ribs were great but I was lucky that I got them. Not the greatest business plan for a restaurant but if you're flexible and you don't really care if you go home empty. It might be worth a shot.

Well, if you like really good 'cue in a sweeeet setting, you're gonna love Mutiny Beach! We had the pulled pork nachos to start, a chopped brisket sandwich and the smash burger (with some collard greens on the side). Everything was delicious and the vibe was very Asbury (sit outside if you can)! We've been going to their little (but equally yummy) place on 5th for awhile, and we knew what to expect... and they didn't disappoint- in fact, they exceeded expectations!

Did a quick search for lunch options in the area and found this. Was surprised to learn they were featured on Guy Fieri's Triple D show. I'll start by saying get the wings! They smoke them then fry them. Delicious!! Def the highlight for me. I'll preface with my rating is based on the wings so could be a little misleading. We got the build a platter with ribs, pulled pork and brisket with a side of fries, mac and the corn bread. I love ribs but these were a little tough. Brisket & pork were ok. Fries were a little over seasoned/salty for my liking. I was excited for the corn bread but disappointed. Very odd texture and no flavor. Not sweet, not savory, just nothing. The mac also lacked flavor. We didn't try the sandwich featured on the show but think we tried enough to get a good idea. I don't frequent the area but will definitely return for the wings if I'm there this summer. Self service but staff was friendly. It's a BBQ joint so pretty casual establishment with the smokers in the back.

I don't get it per the reviews. 1. I ordered a 1/2 lb of the BRISKET POINT which should have been moist. Instead, it was very dry. It was also cut almost a 1/2 inch thick. They missed the cardinal rule and sliced with the grain instead of against it. Results were not only dry but chewy. 2. While the FRENCH FRIES were from fresh cut potatoes, they were way over cooked for my preference. But the crown was the dipping sauce for the fries. 3. POTATO SALAD was not inspiring. 4. PULLED PORK was just ok and also somewhat dry. 5. Dry buns did not help either. What I eventually learned, was that my 1 in the afternoon brisket, was day old and reheated for lunch servings. They start smoking early in the morning and finish late in the afternoon; then soon served for dinner hours. So, I do not recommend lunch at all.

BBQ restaurants aren't ones we usually frequent but we were in the mood for wings and fries and mutiny had both. You order in the back, find a place to sit, grab your own plates and utensils and wait. We ordered the wings with buffalo sauce, an order of fries and the smallest order of pickles. The fries were greasy, but good, and the pickles sweet and sour at the same time. The wings were nicely grilled, but the buffalo sauce wasn't very acidic or spicy. Prices are fair.

Awful Horrible stiff and chewy ribs - and bad wings. It's also very dirty and unkept inside so I guess it goes with the whole hipster vibe they have going on, but for the quality of the food, they should not charge those prices. The only thing that was really good. Was the coleslaw!

This place is a great find for bbq. I had the sliced brisket plate served with baked beans and collard greens along with homemade pickles and pickled onions. The food was great the staff very friendly and professional. I highly recommended and will be back.

I've been to this place for smoke meats takeout for several times and tried several items on the menu. This place hasn't disappointed me. The wings, ribs, brisket, pulled pork, turkey, sausages, and chicken are all delicious. I also tried the turkey leg as their special menu item and it was so good. I wish they have that on the regular menu. The turkey leg is flavorful, tender and juicy. The portion was big. The pulled pork is also excellent. They are busy during the weekend and items are sold out early. I'll definitely recommend to come early or place an order in advance.

Excellent reasonably priced brisket and barbeque and many sides to choose from. The owner is there to ensure a quality meal. We will be coming back for sure ! Delicious !!

My new favorite bbq at the shore!!! The chopped brisket is amazing- and I'm not a brisket person usually. And get extra fries. So worth it.

First time ordering.... I call to place a large order. I was informed there was no brisket. No problem. I was advised to order online. I asked that if I ordered online would if my order would be set aside since they had everything I wanted at that time. She said yes as soon as the payment is made the food is yours. Sounds Great! I placed the order. I get a phone call an hour later saying they were out of ribs and wings and only had the pulled pork that I wanted. How is that possible when I was told something different an hour earlier??? Not a fan of being mislead!! Quite disappointed

The brisket is outrageous. They give you a heaping side of fries, which are crisp absolutely incredible. The staff is so nice and a place is cozy inside. They said the turkey is a must try. I plan on being back soon. Highly recommended and very reasonably priced.

Outstanding BBQ joint. Entire neighborhood smells amazing because of them lol. Probably the tastiest smoked wings I have ever had. St. Louis Ribs were delicious as well. I must visit more often. The bbq is always set by the brisket. I would give this place a 6.8/10. Nice brisket, good flop, and some of the flavor did make its way down into the meat. The area needing for improvement for me is the bark, and more flavor profile. I did like that the sauce was an addition, and only needed for the dry pets. The rest could be eaten without. Price point was good for an everyday eater and is affordable.

Best BBQ on the shore if not all of NJ. Definitely try the pulled pork and the Texas Link sausage. Collards are also top notch!

Order ahead for the Wednesday night pulled pork for two! For $30 you get one pound of pulled pork, one pint of mac and cheese, half pint of coleslaw, half pint of pickles, 6 potato slider rolls, and a mini bottle of BBQ sauce. We got lucky as the last pickup order of the night and snagged a double portion the mac and cheese which made this enough food to feed three people - and the mac and cheese was by far my favorite side!

Food is ALWAYS AMAZING! Great service! This place is the BEST BBQ in NJ that I've found! Try the brisket and mac& cheese. You won't be disappointed!!! It's a cozy little place off the beaten trail, that gives you a feeling of being in your back yard at a summer cook out if you dine on the back patio, complete with picnic tables and smoker grill! Way to expensive. Go to mission BBQ half the price and just as good. At mission BBQ they are great to the customers really on top of their game. Guy missed this one.

Food was absolutely amazing! The staff was very knowledgeable about educating you on their process. Hands on ownership too that is community based for the win!

we have gotten takeout food from Mutiny several times. each experience was exceptional. I even served an assortment to a friend who is a bbq judge and he enjoyed it all.

The food at Mutiny is always on point; I've never had a bad meal there. I love how friendly and knowledgeable the team is and the ambiance is really low-key cool!

I love barbecue food, and I love the fact that when I get a crave the spot I like to go to is so close I can walk. When I come here, I have staples that are mandatory for my Dan experience such as collard greens, smoked beans, macaroni and cheese, beef brisket. I appreciate the friendliness of Thom staff and the fact that they delight and helping me pair up their tasty sauces with my food choices. Although for some people people may not be a big deal, I particularly am a fan of pickled onions, and I love their coleslaw, add a little tang to some of the richer flavors on my plate. The diamond experience is equally as fun on premise as it is at my dining room table with a handful of napkins. 5 out of 5 for me. Alfie

Food is so delicious I keep coming back the pulled pork sandwich and corn casserole it's my absolute favorite. This spot is such a must go too. I complain so much to my bf about how much we need to go back to mutiny because there's no other business that tastes as great as them around the shore.. I'm a foodie definitely and if you've never tried this company before you need too! They're very welcoming!!

We eat here all the time and everything is so tasty! The pulled pork is so soft and tender and the specials are always so flavourful. Such a unique place. Quick service and the patio is beautiful.

The BBQ was simply not very good. The ribs were tasteless. No smoke at all. Sandwiches were mediocre. The service problems all stemmed from being 1 or 2 people under staffed. The store front was 1000 degrees. The seating area out on the back patio (the only seating) was very small and uncomfortable.

Poor customer service today. I've been here many times and have never had a bad experience until today. Shame

Awesome place! It's really tiny inside like just a few tables but I believe they have a lot of outdoor seating. Food was SO good. The pulled pork, Mac and cheese, and corn casserole are crazy good. Staff was friendly and helpful. Can't wait to come back and try the rest of the menu.

We ordered tonight for delivery. My husband got the pulled pork sandwich and I got the chicken thigh sandwich. The driver picked up the order and then as it was on the way, my husband got a notification that said they were out of chicken. No phone call, no offer to substitute. They just refunded him. His order got here and it was not correct. This is the second time we've had a poor experience with this restaurant. We had decided to give them one more try. Lesson learned.

I really cannot fathom the raves this spot gets. They were very nice but the food was inedible. Bbq should not taste like a slim jim.

A truly great bbq place in NJ of all places! All the meat was extremely tender and the fries were one of the best I've ever had. Highly recommend the brisket.

I've been in Ocean Grove/Asbury Park the last few days and it being mid-May, getting fed has been a challenge! A lot of places aren't open during their scheduled hours or were closed all together. At a certain point you get a little desperate. I thought I missed this spot when mapping it but it's there, it's just tiny and right off the corner with a tiny sign right before the train tracks. Parking was easy once I doubled back. The brisket was some of the best I've had. The sauce was solid and peppery, not sweet. The sauces that came with the fries was delicious. The pickles, which seemed to be homemade were great. I did get the collards and while meaty and attractive to look at really lacked flavor. A little of the salt and pepper and maybe vinegar? would have gone a long way. That said, if I lived here and not Baltimore, this place would be in my regular rotation. The staff was peppy too.

I'd give this place a 3.5 if I could because the service was very nice, helpful, and quick. My husband and I were in the mood for BBQ, and I saw this place got great reviews. We decided to get a hodge-podge of a bunch of different items - a quarter pound each of the ribs, pulled pork, and brisket, and a half dozen buffalo wings. We also got a half pint of the mac and cheese, collard greens, potato salad, and cornbread casserole. They make all their sauces in-house (including the sauces for the wings). I started off with the ribs first which were the peak of my meal, and then the rest of the meal wasn't as good. I didn't really like the brisket and the pulled pork, the collard greens needed more salt/flavor, and I think their bbq sauce also needs more flavor and/or a thicker consistency. I liked that they used large shells for the mac and cheese and it was al dente, but I didn't love the cheese(s) they used, and the corn casserole was also okay (and I love corn). If I were to recommend something- it would be the ribs and the wings (they were crispy and not that saucy which I like). FYI- It's also BYO.

Mutiny and their crew hosted our rehearsal dinner and did an amazing job! Little touches and staff attention helped us feel very welcome and everyone was happy with the food. I've gone in separately many times and haven't had a bad meal once. The Mac and cheese and wings are my favorite.

Oooh the smoked fried wings were super yum with honey BBQ sauce. Got the sliced brisket combo plate with potato salad and the collards -- both sides are tasty and light on salt so just add your own. The brisket is teally delicious with their house BBQ sauce which is tangy/vinegary/sweet -add it yourself to taste.. Going to try the ribs and get back with a review on those. Place your reservation on ribs early- they run out fast.

Best BBQ in Monmouth County, possibly the state! Everything we have tried has been excellent from the ribs, brisket, pulled pork, and fried chicken sandwich! Their Mac n cheese is one the best I've ever had and the rest of the sides have been awesome too. We have taken advantage of their great catering deals and weekly meals deals, you really can't beat it. And not the mention the staff and owners are the nicest people! I recommend this to anyone looking for great food in the Asbury area!

I'm a sucker for good BBQ (a trait I passed on to my daughter). We spent a nice lunch here. Small but cozy and awesome, friendly staff. The sauce was really good. I had a melt in your mouth brisket and she went for the pulled pork. No complaints on that. Neat little local spot. Will definitely be back!

The two nicest people in town hired a great set of staff and continue their legacy without missing a step. Self sauce style, with the base rub carolina style and the additional sauce complex, not dominated by sugar at all. Ribs and pulled pork are my favorites, with the addition of pickles unbeatable. The pickled onions are a sign of continued evolution, exciting to witness.

Mutiny has hands down the best wings I've had at the Jersey Shore! The backyard area is a great place to hang out on a nice day. Tom and his team are really friendly and helpful.
